Get title and thumbnail ideas for an episode, then add your image, logo and text.

Before you start

Have an episode or an episode idea ready, plus any image and logo you want to use. Keep the title readable at the small size where viewers will first see the thumbnail.

Step 1

Open thumbnails for the intended episode

Open Clips & Thumbs Maker → Thumbs. Choose the episode or enter the new idea you want to illustrate. Confirm the subject before generating concepts so the image and headline belong to the same story.

Open Clips & Thumbs Maker and choose the Thumbs tab. Select an episode or describe the episode idea you want to present.

Check that the concept is about the actual episode rather than a more dramatic promise it does not deliver.

Step 2

Choose a concept, then make the image

Use Suggest to request title and image ideas. Choose a concept you can support with the episode, then generate or upload its image. Treat the suggested title as a proposal: edit names, factual claims or exaggerated promises before using it.

Review the title and thumbnail concepts. Choose one that communicates the episode’s main subject and fits your show’s style.

Compare the concepts at a small size. A short, clear title and one strong image often remain easier to read than several competing elements.

Step 3

Design and export the thumbnail

Set the text, logo and colors. Check the entire frame, then check it small enough to resemble a real thumbnail. Download exports the thumbnail at 1280 × 720; Save stores it in My Outputs. Saving does not automatically replace the episode’s thumbnail elsewhere.

Edit the selected concept’s image, text and logo. Keep faces and important image details inside the frame and away from overlaid text.

Review the finished thumbnail before downloading it. Check the spelling and the relationship between the thumbnail’s words and the episode title.

Review checklist

The concept accurately represents the episode.
Text stays readable at a small size.
The image, logo and title are properly framed.

If you get stuck

The image is overwhelmed by text

Shorten the phrase and move it away from the important subject.
