In short

Art inventory software for artists, galleries and estates

  • Bring your artwork inventory in from a CSV, a ZIP of images or an Artwork Archive piece export. Review the imported records and image matches before saving them.
  • Use Import your records for a separate reviewed upload of Artwork Archive collectors, sales, income, locations and exhibitions.
  • An AI chat reads your Instagram and TikTok posts, suggests articles your site hasn't covered, and drafts them with your photos. Review each draft before publishing.
  • Each published work has its own page on your domain. You decide which details are public and which stay private, price included.
  • The Art Studio holds the full record of each work: where it is, where it has been shown, its collections, and who bought it, with sales, consignment tracking, invoices and contacts alongside. Your website draws from the same records.
  • Galleries representing many artists keep every work in one inventory, credited to its artist on the website. Estates and foundations use it for art collection management, publishing part of a collection and keeping the rest private.
  • Viewing Rooms let you share a selection of works by private link, with optional prices and an expiry date.
  • Prepare inventory, consignment and viewing-room reports as PDFs. Export all artwork records as CSV, or download a studio backup with stored artwork image files.
  • Original works linked to Art Studio artwork listings carry a 0% Artspun platform commission under standard terms. Payment processor fees still apply; merchandise uses its standard fee and custom agreements take precedence.
  • Setup and preview are free, with no card needed. Plans start at $49 a month once the site is live.

What you get

Artist website builder and art inventory in one

The catalogue

A page for each published work. Images, year, medium, dimensions, edition, provenance and availability, on your own domain. Each published work has a page that search engines and AI tools can read.

Collections and series. Group works into a series, a year or a fair, and give the group its own page. A work can sit in more than one.

Locations and exhibitions. Where each work is today, in the studio, at a gallery, at a fair or in storage, and every exhibition it has been in. Deadlines and return dates are kept on one schedule.

Collectors and sales

Viewing Rooms. Share a selection of works by private link, choose whether to show their prices, and set an expiry date. Anyone with the link can open the room until it expires.

Sales and invoices. Record a sale, gift or donation, issue a numbered invoice, and follow income and expenses across the studio. With your store payment account connected, send a payable invoice link and track confirmed payments.

Contacts. Collectors, galleries and clients, with the works each has acquired.

Reports and export. Prepare inventory, consignment and viewing-room PDFs. Export all artwork records as CSV, or download a studio backup with records and stored artwork image files.

Original artwork sales. Sell original works linked to Art Studio artwork listings with a 0% Artspun platform commission under standard terms. Payment processor fees still apply. Merchandise uses its standard fee; custom agreements take precedence.

The website

A complete website. Choose a theme, edit pages, collect enquiries through forms and sell through a store on your own domain. The website uses the records in your Art Studio.

Email campaigns. Professional and Managed include email for up to 1,000 subscribed contacts. Larger lists use the published email tiers, priced for the full subscribed contact count.

Articles from your posts. The editor's chat reads your Instagram and TikTok posts, suggests articles your site doesn't have yet, and drafts each one with your images. Nothing is published until you approve it.

How it works

From a spreadsheet to a working site

  1. 1

Bring in what you already have

Upload a CSV, a ZIP of images or your Artwork Archive piece export. Review the mapped fields and image matches before saving. Use Import your records separately for Artwork Archive collectors, sales, income, locations and exhibitions.

  2. 2

    Check the records

Review the records and correct anything that came in wrong. Choose which works to publish and whether each one shows its price, price on request, or no price. Share selected works in a collector Viewing Room.

  3. 3

Pick a theme and arrange the pages

Choose a theme and edit directly on the page. Rewrite text, replace an image in place, rearrange sections.

  4. 4

    Go live on your domain

Connect your domain and publish. Hosting and a secure (https) connection are included. Published artwork records supply the pages on your site. Use your artist posts to prepare article drafts, then review and publish them.

FAQ

Art inventory and artist website questions

Can Podspun write SEO articles from my posts?
Yes. Open Site Editor Chat in your website editor and ask for article ideas. It reads your Instagram and TikTok posts, the topics they cover, the articles already on your site, and what visitors searched for. Pick an idea and it writes a full article from those posts, with your photos placed where they fit, a search title, and a description. It saves as a draft until you publish it.
Can I move my archive over from Artwork Archive?
Yes. Upload your Artwork Archive piece export, then review the mapped artwork fields and image matches before saving. A plain CSV or a ZIP of images works too. Use Import your records for a separate reviewed upload of Artwork Archive collectors, sales, income, locations and exhibitions. Migration assistance or data cleanup beyond included monthly help is quoted separately.
Do I have to show prices on my website?
No. Each piece sets its own price display: an amount, price on request, or nothing at all. You can also mark a work as not for sale, reserved, or sold, and the page follows.
Can I keep some work off the public site?
Yes. A piece can be a draft or archived, which keeps the record in your inventory and off the website. A Viewing Room shares selected works through a private link, with an optional expiry date. Anyone with that link can open the room until it expires.
Is this a website builder or an inventory system?
Both use one set of artwork records. Manage the inventory in the Art Studio, choose what is public, and publish the website from those records. Viewing Rooms let you share selected works with collectors and curators.
What happens when I add new work?
Add the piece in the Art Studio, check its details and choose whether to publish it. Each published piece gets its own website page from the inventory record.
Can I take my records with me?
Yes. Export all artwork records as CSV, including drafts and archived works. A studio backup includes structured inventory and studio records, related contacts and stored artwork image files in ZIP parts. Download every listed part for the complete backup. Earlier uploads that were resized or replaced cannot be recovered, so keep your original files too.
How much does art inventory software cost?
Artspun has four plans. Starter is $49 a month for up to 800 non-archived artworks. Professional is $79 a month for up to 2,000, with email for up to 1,000 subscribed contacts. Managed is $149 a month for the same software and capacity, plus 30 minutes of help each month. These monthly prices include one website. With annual billing, the fixed base is billed yearly and Artspun add-ons stay monthly. Enterprise starts at $399 a month with unlimited artworks and a service scope agreed in your quote.
How many artworks can I catalog?
Starter covers up to 800 artworks. Professional covers up to 2,000, and Managed covers up to 2,000. Enterprise has unlimited artworks. Every artwork that is not archived counts, including drafts and works you keep off your website. Archived artworks do not count, and their records are kept.
Does the price include a website?
Yes. Starter, Professional and Managed each include one website on your own domain, with hosting and a secure (https) connection. Each extra website is $20 a month.
What help is included each month?
Managed includes the same software and artwork allowance as Professional, plus 30 minutes of help each month for consultation or small changes. Unused minutes do not roll over. Major migration, data cleanup and larger projects are quoted separately.
Does Artspun charge a commission on original artwork sales?
Original works linked to Art Studio artwork listings carry a 0% platform commission under standard terms. Payment processor fees still apply. Merchandise and other store products use their standard fees. A custom commerce agreement takes precedence over the standard commission policy.
How much email is included?
Professional and Managed include email for up to 1,000 subscribed contacts. Above that allowance, the published email tiers apply to the full subscribed contact count. Starter uses the published email tiers.
Is there art inventory software for galleries?
Yes. Artspun is art inventory software for galleries representing many artists. Each work has an Artist field, and the artist's name shows with the work on your website, in Viewing Rooms, and on certificate and inventory PDFs. Sales, invoices and contacts are kept on the same records, and a collection for each artist gives that artist a page on the website.
Can an artist's estate or foundation use Artspun?
Yes. Artspun works as art collection management software for an artist's estate or foundation. Catalogue the inventory, choose which works appear on the public website, and keep the rest private in the same records. Enterprise includes unlimited artworks, with management services scoped to the collection in your quote.
How do I catalog my artwork?
To catalog your artwork, open the Art Studio and add each work once, or import your archive from a CSV, a ZIP of images or an Artwork Archive export. Each record holds the title, year, medium, dimensions, edition, images, provenance, location and price. You choose what is public, and each published work gets its own page on your website.
Is Artspun an alternative to Artwork Archive?
Yes. Artspun accepts an Artwork Archive piece export for review, including artwork fields and image matches. Import your records handles a separate reviewed upload of collectors, sales, income, locations and exhibitions. Its Art Studio records also supply your website on your own domain. Choose which works to publish and which to share in collector Viewing Rooms.
