What is the Categories block?
Categories sorts your episodes and posts into cards by what your show is about. A travel show gets Destinations (one card per country or city), a true-crime show gets its cases, a cooking show its dishes, an interview show its guests. Each card names the thing, a small line over it says what group it belongs to (a region, a decade, a cuisine), and it shows how many episodes and posts it has and its newest episode's picture. A card with two or more episodes opens its own page; a card with one goes straight to that episode or post.
Podspun reads each episode's title and description, and each post's caption, and sorts it. A passing mention does not count, and neither does a trailer that lists things from other episodes. When your site is made, Podspun names three ways to sort it and sorts every episode into all three; you pick the one to show in Site Settings, on the Content Categories tile, and can switch at any time. Use Categories, at the top of that tile, turns the whole feature on or off for the site.
Each card is a stack of up to three of its pictures with the name and count under it, the same look as on the Live Portrait, in the Social Explorer and under Other on a card page. Every new site has the block on its home page and the same cards as a section of its Live Portrait; any site can add it with Add block. It stays hidden on your live site until there are three cards, and while Use Categories is off; the editor says which. Under the first few cards, an Explore all button opens your explorer page, where every card is listed.
