How do I make a directory of places and links people can filter?
Add a Directory block and add an entry for each place or thing to follow: a convention, a shop, a haunted attraction, a website, a podcast. Give each one a Name, a Kind, a Picture, a Group (Event, Place to go or Online), and a Link. City, State or Country, ZIP Code, When and Note are optional.
Each entry shows as a card with its picture, under the heading for its Group: Events, Places to go or Online. An event shows its dates, from When, under its picture. Visitors can narrow the cards with the Category dropdown (a whole group or one kind), the State dropdown, or the search box. Typing in the search box narrows the cards by name and place as they type. A ZIP code, a city and state, or a street address, followed by Enter, puts the nearest places first, each with how many miles away it is, and Distance keeps only those within that many miles. The dropdowns come from what you enter, so the first entry of a new kind adds it to Category.
