How do I use my own custom domain?

In Website Builder, open your site's Setup and choose Custom domain. The page has two steps. Step 1: enter your domain and press Save and Continue. Step 2 then shows the DNS records to add at the company that runs your domain, with a Check DNS button and the live status. The records stay listed after the domain is live. Once the DNS is verified, the site switches from simple Podspun.com hosting to the custom-domain mode.

From then on, while the site is public, its preview address sends anyone who opens it to the same page on your domain, and the Domain screen stops listing it. The editor and draft links you share still use the preview address. If the site is behind a password or Coming soon, or its store is waiting for payments to be connected, the preview address keeps showing the real site for you.

Both the address with www and the one without reach your site. To choose which one visitors end up on, open Site Settings, then Key Domain Setup, then Redirects, and pick under With or Without www.

The record for the domain itself (@) is a CNAME, or your DNS company’s ALIAS or ANAME option. If your company offers none of those for the domain itself, see My DNS company cannot add a CNAME for the domain itself.
