Help CenterUsing PodspunYour domain and podspun.com
My DNS company cannot add a CNAME for the domain itself. What do I do?
The record for the domain itself (shown as @) can be added three ways. Use the first one your DNS company offers.
- CNAME on @ pointing to connect.podspun.com. This is the record Key Key Domain Setup lists.
- ALIAS or ANAME on @ pointing to connect.podspun.com. Some companies offer this where a CNAME on the domain itself is not allowed. Dynadot calls it ANAME.
- Only if it offers neither: an A record on @ pointing to 13.52.190.131, which is Podspun’s own address.
In all three cases www is a CNAME pointing to connect.podspun.com, and the ownership TXT record is the same.
With the A record, your site’s address is www.yourdomain.com, and yourdomain.com forwards to it. Key Domain Setup sets With or Without www to www for you once it finds the A record, and keeps it there.
GoDaddy has no CNAME, ALIAS or ANAME for the domain itself, so for a domain whose DNS is at GoDaddy, Key Domain Setup lists the A record from the start. After adding the records, press Check DNS.
