Before you start
Choose the audience and purpose of the newsletter. Review the contacts you intend to send to and have the episode, article or other links ready.
Start a draft campaign

Open Email Campaigns and choose New campaign. Give it an internal Campaign name that you can recognize later. This starts an editable campaign; it does not send a message.
Open Email Campaigns and create a campaign. Give it a useful internal name and choose the recipients.
Confirm that the chosen list is the intended audience before building the message. A design preview cannot tell you whether the recipient selection is correct.
Build and preview the email

Add the content blocks you need and replace every sample heading, image and link. Preview desktop and mobile. Keep one clear main action and check its destination. The email includes the required footer and unsubscribe link.
Build the email around one clear purpose. Add its subject, content and links, then inspect the preview.
Check the first paragraph, images and button destinations. Make sure any dates, names and offers are correct and that the message makes sense without the website open beside it.
Set the sender, subject and recipients

Choose Continue to open send settings. Fill Subject, Preview text, From name and From email. Under Send to, choose Everyone subscribed or Specific lists and select the intended lists. Check both the audience and the sender before going on; the internal campaign name is not the inbox subject.
Use a subject that accurately describes the email and preview text that adds useful context. Use a From email address on your verified sending domain. Podspun checks that domain and the footer address before sending; configure both under Email → Config → Sending DNS Setup. If a list is missing, correct the account’s Email list setup before sending.
A campaign sends to its selected audience, not automatically to everyone whose email appears anywhere in the account. Review the list choice against the purpose of this message.
Send a test and inspect the actual email

Use Send a test to and enter your test address. Review the delivered email’s subject, preview text, images, links and mobile layout. Test subject and Note at Top can identify a test; sending a test does not send the campaign to the selected audience.
Send a test and open it in your inbox. Try every important link and check the message on a phone as well as desktop.
Return to the campaign, correct anything the test exposed and confirm the final recipients before sending. Sending a test and sending the campaign are separate actions.
Choose now or schedule the send

Under When to send, choose now or schedule. For a schedule, set Send date and time and confirm the intended timing. Review the final audience, sender and subject, then choose Send campaign or Schedule send when ready. Keep it as a draft if anything is unfinished.
A test delivery and a production send are separate actions. Correct anything found in the test before final submission, especially broken links, old dates or a wrong recipient list. For a scheduled campaign, review the saved scheduled state rather than assuming that selecting a date alone scheduled it.
Review checklist
- The recipient list is correct.
- The subject, content and dates have been reviewed.
- A test email arrived and its links work.
If you get stuck
The test looks wrong on a phone
Simplify the layout and review image and text sizes, then send another test.
A link opens the wrong page
Correct it in the campaign and retest the actual delivered email.
