Can the menu be listed down the right side of the page?
Yes. In your site's CMS, open Menu Layouts, then Header menu, then Settings. Under Layout, choose Stacked: logo left, menu listed down the right side and save. On a computer the logo sits alone in the bar at the top left and the menu items are listed one under another down the right side, the first one level with the site name. Page content keeps clear of that column. Items nested under a menu item are listed under it: the section a visitor is in stays open, and the small arrow beside any other item opens it. An item set to No Link opens and closes its list when clicked and goes nowhere itself; the phone menu does the same. With On scroll set to Stays fixed at the top, the list stays in place as the page scrolls. On phones, and whenever the site uses the hamburger menu, the menu opens from the menu button as usual.
