Can a card play an audio or video file on the page?

Yes. In a Card grid block, link a card to an audio file (MP3, M4A, WAV) or a video file (MP4, MOV, WebM), for example one you added to your Assets. On your live site the card's button, such as Listen or Watch, then opens a pop-up over the page with the player in it, already playing. Closing the pop-up, with its close button, the Escape key or a click outside it, stops the file and leaves visitors where they were on your page. Nothing loads until they press it. When the file is one you uploaded to your Assets, a Download link sits beside the button so visitors can save it. A card that links to a page, or to a video on another site such as YouTube, opens that link as usual.

When some cards in a grid have a picture, a card without one shows your site's logo in its picture frame, so every card in the row has the same shape. To give every picture the same box, choose an Image Shape for the block.
