How do I crop, rotate or straighten an image, or control how it is framed?

Open the image in your site's Assets (or from any image picker) and use the editor. It opens on Crop. Crop trims the image, free-form or to a fixed shape like square or 16:9, and can save the result as a new file. The crop box starts around the whole picture, so you drag an edge in to trim it, and a turn or a straighten saved on its own keeps all of the picture. With a shape chosen, the box starts as the largest box of that shape that fits, centered. Focal point lets you drag a marker to the part of the image that matters, and Podspun keeps that point in view wherever the image fills a box, like a hero banner.

The Crop tab can also turn and fix the picture before you save. Rotate turns it a quarter turn to the left or right, and Flip mirrors it horizontally or vertically. For a work photographed at an angle, Straighten turns a crooked picture by small amounts, and Tilt Up And Down and Tilt Left And Right square up a painting shot from below, from above or from one side, so its edges run straight again. A grid shows while you move a slider, and the picture zooms in just enough to leave no blank corners. Suggest Crop finds the wall, floor or table around the work and moves the crop box to the work's edges, and you can adjust the box before you save. Start Over puts everything back.

A picture of a person gets a focal point by itself. When you upload or import one, Podspun finds the person: on a close-up the point goes on the face, on a wider picture it goes on the whole person, and when the person is too tall to fit a crop it keeps the head in view. This is done within the hour, and usually within seconds of an upload. A picture with no person in it gets no point and is cropped from its middle. A point you set yourself is never replaced.

You can also do this without leaving what you are working on. In the Choose an asset window, the ⋯ button on a picture has Edit image, Rename, Move and Delete. On an artwork's record in Art Studio, click a picture under Images to edit it, or drag the pictures to change their order.
