You've never touched a drop of alcohol.
00:00:01
Yeah. No, it's really weird. People will
00:00:03
often say to me, "Is that a religious
00:00:04
thing or something like that's got
00:00:06
nothing to do with that?" It's your
00:00:07
granddad, right? Yeah. My granddad,
00:00:08
great man, but you know, flawed like all
00:00:10
of us. And he had a problem with alcohol
00:00:12
really. He was um a groundsman, igly
00:00:14
oval. Basically mowed the lawns. My
00:00:15
father's the oldest of five boys.
00:00:17
Incredible guy really. Um loved my dad
00:00:19
because he changed the course of
00:00:20
parenting in our family. But I just
00:00:21
remember as a young chap spending time
00:00:23
with my granddad and you know in the
00:00:24
August school holidays and just seeing
00:00:25
him out of control. And I obviously
00:00:27
decided as a seven or an 8-year-old that
00:00:29
was sort of something that you was that
00:00:30
half G that made him go a bit funny. And
00:00:32
for some reason I decided then and there
00:00:34
that that wasn't something I was doing.
00:00:35
And I've never I've never done it. Now I
00:00:37
went to quite traditional boy schools. I
00:00:39
got a lot of mates. So I was always the
00:00:40
sober driver and I was always invited
00:00:41
and everyone just arranged alternatives
00:00:43
for me. So no, I've never drunk alcohol
00:00:44
at all.
