It was a regular kind of afternoon. I
00:00:03
was laying in my hospital bed, my
00:00:05
hospital room there. I'd had a whole
00:00:06
range of different sort of tests and
00:00:07
procedures in the days preceding this.
00:00:09
And I guess I knew at that point that
00:00:11
something was was really wrong. I didn't
00:00:13
know what it was. I didn't really expect
00:00:15
that it would be cancer either, but I
00:00:16
did know that it was going to be bad,
00:00:18
whatever it was. And so lady who I'd
00:00:20
never met before came into the room and
00:00:22
she sat down on the bed beside me. She
00:00:24
went on to explain just very slowly uh
00:00:27
very calmly that I had Yeah. Yeah, that
00:00:28
I had cancer, that I had burkets,
00:00:30
non-hodkkins, lymphoma, and explained
00:00:32
that at that stage [music] they'd found
00:00:33
it through my uh brain lining, eye
00:00:35
sockets, nasal passages, sinuses, gums,
00:00:37
jaw, spinal fluid, pancreas, and through
00:00:40
both of of my kidneys. She sort of
00:00:41
talked me through what the options were
00:00:44
in [music] in terms of treatment. I say
00:00:46
options, it was sort of the option to
00:00:47
have treatment or or not. For me, I was
00:00:49
always set on on having that treatment
00:00:51
because, you know, in my head, there was
00:00:52
no alternative other than than getting
00:00:54
through [music] it. If you didn't get
00:00:55
treatment, the other option, how long
00:00:57
how long do they
00:00:58
>> uh about about 2 weeks?
