Dave recounts his experience of committing computer fraud and grand larceny while working at a toy store, where he redirected shipments to steal video game consoles. Christine shares her wild tale of stealing a police car during a women's march while under the influence of Adderall.

Christine, a college student and aspiring congresswoman, details her experience at a women's march where she and her sorority sisters found themselves in a chaotic situation. In a moment of panic, she stole a police car to escape the scene. Her story highlights the absurdity of the situation and her subsequent efforts to avoid getting caught.

hey it's your boy Mike The Situation
00:00:12
Santino welcome to statute of

limitations it's the ultimate lineup
00:00:20
it's Cooks this is not my fault that I
00:00:22
stole this car it's coming this is my
00:00:25
chance I can be rich for life it's w to
00:00:29
be kingpins we all made together
00:00:33
$500,000 and queen pins it was basically
00:00:36
a lounge of
00:00:37
criminals these are stories of the
00:00:39
nonviolent lucky punks and Robin hoods
00:00:43
that Dodge the law I could have gone to
00:00:45
prison not jail prison because here's
00:00:48
the situation baby it's only a matter of
00:00:51
time before the statute of limitations
00:00:54
is up and technically you might walk
00:00:56
away scotf free but don't take it from
00:00:59
me guys I'm obviously no lawyer this is
00:01:04
statute of
00:01:12
limitations what's up everybody I'm Mike
00:01:15
The Situation Santino welcome to the
00:01:18
show where average folks talk about
00:01:19
their over-the-top crimes they committed
00:01:21
way back with on this episode of statute
00:01:24
of limitations you'll see a goody two
00:01:26
shoes wannabe congresswoman who
00:01:28
committed a crime out of Gone in 60
00:01:31
Seconds and a dude whose crime can be
00:01:33
best described as Toy Story he stole
00:01:36
from the rich and gave to the poor meets
00:01:39
our Robin Hood Nam Dave check it
00:01:47
out hello my name is Dave and I
00:01:50
committed a plethora of crimes see there
00:01:52
was Computer Fraud Grand larsoning and
00:01:56
just for a good measure a little bit of
00:01:58
trespassing for for 20 years I've been
00:02:01
waiting and waiting to talk about all
00:02:04
these crimes that I committed and now
00:02:06
I'm going to tell you all about
00:02:08
it so I was in college I was super broke
00:02:12
and so every year I would get a seasonal
00:02:14
job working at one of the big box toy
00:02:17
stores which had like electronics and
00:02:19
TVs and Cabbage Patch Kids you name it
00:02:22
so this store like at the time minimum
00:02:24
wage was like nothing it was like maybe
00:02:27
four bucks and they would put you down
00:02:28
to work all the hours like my work
00:02:31
schedule just said
00:02:33
December and like even with overtime it
00:02:36
was like six bucks so they like great
00:02:38
thanks I can super siize my fries now so
00:02:41
you get super bitter super fast you're
00:02:43
not making any money they're super super
00:02:46
cruel to these kids by jacking up these
00:02:48
prices like
00:02:49
astronomically so this company is like
00:02:51
making money hand over fist like these
00:02:54
families are like emptying their
00:02:55
pocketbooks for like the next hot thing
00:02:58
they're just going broke just trying to
00:02:59
make make their kids happy for the
00:03:01
holidays you know Dad's out in the
00:03:03
parking lot doing like $3 scratchers
00:03:05
like Hing like you know Christmas is
00:03:08
coming up what am I going to do it was
00:03:10
driving me
00:03:11
nuts and then I came up with the best
00:03:15
idea I got a chance to fix this I
00:03:18
figured out a way for everybody to get
00:03:20
everything they wanted for the holidays
00:03:22
especially me so this place during the
00:03:25
holidays total chaos like trucks coming
00:03:28
in boxes flying everywhere it was
00:03:31
complete Madness nobody had any idea
00:03:34
where anything
00:03:36
was so remember this is like a terrible
00:03:39
neighborhood and there were like
00:03:40
abandoned buildings everywhere like
00:03:42
empty warehouses and whatnot and at the
00:03:43
time I just started tinkering around
00:03:45
with computers and I realized if I went
00:03:47
into the system and just changed a
00:03:49
couple numbers I could take entire
00:03:52
shipments and redirect them to anywhere
00:03:55
I wanted I could redirect those trucks
00:03:58
and have them deliver all all those
00:04:00
boxes to one of those empty
00:04:02
warehouses so before I sent an entire
00:04:05
shipment somewhere I decided to take one
00:04:07
video game console and have it sent just
00:04:10
to test it
00:04:12
out it worked perfectly nobody had any
00:04:17
idea after that I was like what else can
00:04:22
I get away with so it started with one
00:04:25
video game console and then it went to
00:04:27
like two boxes five boxes a van a big
00:04:31
old truck they're like what else can I
00:04:33
do can I do an entire like ship coming
00:04:36
in from
00:04:38
China I figured sooner or later somebody
00:04:42
was going to figure this out so every
00:04:44
single shipment was like down to a
00:04:46
science for like in out a single hour
00:04:49
never use the same place twice fake name
00:04:51
like Alro like the guys who brought it
00:04:53
in like the truckers whatever they're
00:04:55
like why are these guys hurrying so much
00:04:57
but whatever they're truckers they're
00:04:59
busy too
00:05:00
I mean some of the truckers were
00:05:01
actually helping us unload the boxes
00:05:04
themselves until one guy like looking at
00:05:07
it's kind of funny so I slipped him a
00:05:08
game console he never said a
00:05:11
word so it was crazy it was like kind of
00:05:14
fun in the beginning a little sneaky
00:05:16
like one little Xbox and all of a sudden
00:05:18
I'm like renting the apartment next to
00:05:20
mine filling it full of boxes my own
00:05:22
placees filled with boxes got like
00:05:24
stolen goods everywhere they're like
00:05:25
flying in I mean I was careful but I was
00:05:28
totally Fearless like nobody's ever
00:05:30
going to catch me at a certain point I
00:05:32
was looking around like I think I've got
00:05:34
over $100,000 worth of the stuff I could
00:05:37
have gone to prison not jail prison this
00:05:40
is getting too big too fast completely
00:05:43
out of control and sooner or later
00:05:45
somebody's going to
00:05:47
talk I was pretty sure some of the other
00:05:50
people I work with were catching on by
00:05:52
the way all this time I'm supposed to be
00:05:54
doing my regular job like as I'm
00:05:56
stealing like half the store I'm also in
00:05:59
the store working for these people doing
00:06:02
my regular job and then one
00:06:04
day I show up to the office and there
00:06:07
are two guys in Shir and TI who I don't
00:06:10
know totally freaked out like this is
00:06:16
it oh snap DA's got the suits in Pursuit
00:06:20
right now and if you've ever shoplifted
00:06:22
not saying that I have ever personally
00:06:24
maybe I have maybe I haven't but I can
00:06:26
tell you that store security they don't
00:06:29
play okay this dude is in way over his
00:06:32
head stealing toys he's got a situation
00:06:35
let's see how this plays out next on
00:06:38
statute of
00:06:41
limitations we're back with statute of
00:06:43
limitations our man Dave is working a
00:06:46
holiday gig decided to stuff his
00:06:48
stocking with a warehouse full of game
00:06:50
consoles but with security hot on his
00:06:52
heels it might just be a wrap listen
00:06:56
security is always watching okay guys
00:06:59
check check this
00:07:01
out at a certain point I was looking
00:07:03
around like I think I've got over
00:07:05
$100,000 worth of the stuff I was pretty
00:07:08
sure some of the other people I work
00:07:10
with were catching on and then one day I
00:07:13
show up to the office and there are two
00:07:14
guys in Shir and TI who I don't know
00:07:18
totally freaked out like this is it the
00:07:22
store holds an entire staff meeting they
00:07:25
bring us all in and they're not
00:07:28
exactly like pointing the finger at
00:07:31
anyone but they were
00:07:33
saying all this stuff is going missing
00:07:35
we got to figure this out and that's
00:07:37
when things completely went off the
00:07:40
rails I was starting to totally freak
00:07:42
out I was like had crazy anxiety
00:07:44
couldn't sleep totally terrified was
00:07:47
like looking over my shoulder it just
00:07:49
got completely out of control just when
00:07:52
I thought it couldn't get any worse the
00:07:55
assistant manager pulls me aside out of
00:07:56
the blue and says the manager thinks
00:07:59
somebody stealing a bunch of stuff by
00:08:01
changing all the stuff in the computer
00:08:02
system and I Reed out I was like I don't
00:08:06
know anything that's crazy I I'll keep
00:08:09
my eye
00:08:10
out meanwhile the second he left I went
00:08:13
into the computers and just nuked
00:08:16
everything I just like delete delete
00:08:17
delete delete delete like trying to
00:08:19
erase all traits of anything i'
00:08:24
done here's the good news they all
00:08:27
thought I was an idiot
00:08:30
so they never suspected me what's going
00:08:32
on I I dropped my contact on the floor
00:08:35
here's a great thing about not always
00:08:37
coming off that smart people think
00:08:39
you're not smart enough to get away with
00:08:41
that kind of
00:08:42
stuff I don't regret a thing but this
00:08:45
was the stupidest thing I could have
00:08:48
possibly done and if you ever think that
00:08:51
you should do anything like this don't
00:08:54
because it will actually mess with your
00:08:55
mind for the rest of your life and
00:08:57
that's how I got away with all those CRI
00:09:00
nobody got hurt I mean the company went
00:09:02
out of business but like it's a company
00:09:04
but all the people they got hooked up
00:09:06
and if you want to get up I still have a
00:09:08
bunch of boxes in my house and why am I
00:09:10
talking like
00:09:14
this yo Dave's number should be 1 1800
00:09:17
lucky Cho because he could have gotten
00:09:20
12 long years in prison I wonder if he
00:09:24
has the old school techmobile what an
00:09:26
amazing game that was check out this
00:09:29
crime committed by a one-time Sorority
00:09:31
Girl in Arizona from an innocent stylish
00:09:34
Sorority Girl to a not so innocent
00:09:37
criminal whose style could have been an
00:09:39
orange jumpsuit meet
00:09:42
Christine my name is Christine and in
00:09:45
2010 I was a college student in Phoenix
00:09:47
Arizona and I took Grand Theft Auto to
00:09:50
the next
00:09:51
level I was a polyi major and I was
00:09:55
really into Student Government I was an
00:09:59
activist or I thought I was my dream was
00:10:01
to be a congresswoman I had a picture of
00:10:04
Elizabeth Warren on my wall in my dorm
00:10:06
room I was very very much into it I was
00:10:09
in a sority I won't say which one and I
00:10:12
went to my sority sisters and I said
00:10:15
we've got to do something other than
00:10:17
party once in a while can we please go
00:10:19
to this women's March and I kind of told
00:10:22
some of them it was a good networking
00:10:24
opportunity too so I was able to get all
00:10:28
of the s 4 sisters together this was
00:10:31
around midterms so we were really
00:10:33
exhausted and tired but I really wanted
00:10:35
us to go to this March we stayed up
00:10:37
really late the night before the March
00:10:39
and know we ran to the store we got all
00:10:41
the supplies poster board we got markers
00:10:44
we got paint and we were making a ton of
00:10:47
signs and I was exhausted we were all
00:10:50
exhausted and my best friend Brit who
00:10:52
was also my sority sister was like well
00:10:54
you know I have some Aderall and I can
00:10:56
maybe share it with you I've never done
00:10:58
ad all before never took any kind of
00:11:01
pickme up before so I thought well
00:11:04
what's the harm you know I'm really
00:11:06
tired and she said yeah it's just like a
00:11:08
couple cups of coffee you'll be fine so
00:11:10
I said okay give me one so she gives me
00:11:13
one and and that kept me going through
00:11:15
the whole night we made all kinds of
00:11:18
signs equal pay equal rights equal pay
00:11:22
for women we went all out for the
00:11:26
March and the next morning it was pretty
00:11:28
early and we've gathered all of the
00:11:30
signs and everything to go to the March
00:11:33
and we all get into a couple different
00:11:34
Vans and we go to the March and she
00:11:37
offers me another adderal and I took it
00:11:41
and we were all just completely hyped up
00:11:44
so we get to the March everyone's
00:11:46
chanting we have all of our signs we are
00:11:49
just kind of getting a little bit Rowdy
00:11:51
and as we're going down the March we see
00:11:53
actually some of the fraternity guys
00:11:56
they found out we were going to be there
00:11:57
went there to heckle us so they're
00:12:00
yelling at us we're yelling back some of
00:12:02
my shorty sisters are like flipping them
00:12:05
off they're getting just totally angry
00:12:08
so we're totally hyped up and and it was
00:12:10
really great but then up ahead we see
00:12:13
like all of this commotion we see like
00:12:15
Signs like people are getting like we
00:12:17
could just hear a lot of people shouting
00:12:19
all of a sudden I see these flashing
00:12:21
lights red blue red blue red blue and I
00:12:24
am freaking out of course because it's
00:12:25
the police and then I just hear a lot of
00:12:28
shouting and I really realized like
00:12:29
people are getting shoved and pushed and
00:12:32
I'm starting to freak out and then I
00:12:36
noticed my sority sisters are freaking
00:12:39
out and they start like pushing and
00:12:41
shoving and all of a sudden I'm just in
00:12:43
the middle of like this complete
00:12:45
commotion so there's a million people
00:12:48
and I see the police coming and they're
00:12:49
arresting people and I'm freaking out
00:12:52
okay because if I get arrested you know
00:12:54
there goes all my dreams of being a
00:12:56
congresswoman and I am so scared so I
00:13:00
grab grit and I'm like we got to get out
00:13:02
of here you know and we just take off
00:13:04
running I'm pushing people out of the
00:13:06
way um I'm I'm running through the crowd
00:13:08
and we find this alley and we duck down
00:13:10
the alley and as we're running down the
00:13:12
alley and I'm I'm breathing heavy I'm
00:13:15
basically hyperventilating at this point
00:13:18
and then a cop car pulls up at the end
00:13:21
of the alley and we duck behind a
00:13:24
dumpster because and I'm just I'm
00:13:25
crouched behind the dumpster and I'm
00:13:27
like oh my God oh my God you know I
00:13:31
don't I don't want to go to
00:13:33
[Music]
00:13:35
jail the two of these police officers
00:13:37
jump out of the police car to I guess
00:13:40
Chase someone and they leave the doors
00:13:42
open so I don't know if it was the
00:13:45
excitement or the Aderall or what but I
00:13:50
stupidly think I'm going to run to the
00:13:52
police car I'm just going to jump in I
00:13:54
start running Brit's yelling what are
00:13:56
you doing and I'm like get in the car
00:13:58
get in the car
00:14:00
and um so we we jump in the car and we
00:14:02
we shut the doors and I I couldn't
00:14:05
believe it but they actually left the
00:14:06
keys in there
00:14:07
which look this is not my fault that I
00:14:10
stole this car they left the keys in
00:14:12
right so anyway I turn on the car and I
00:14:15
and I and I just take off because I just
00:14:17
want to get out of there so I floored
00:14:19
the gas and I was gone and then I'm
00:14:23
driving down the street and BRD goes you
00:14:24
stole a cop car you stole a cop car and
00:14:26
I'm like duh I know I know and then I
00:14:29
don't know what to do she's like we got
00:14:30
to we got to we got to get out of the
00:14:31
car and I'm like we can't get out of the
00:14:33
car now someone's going to see us and so
00:14:35
I pull up and I flip on everything that
00:14:38
I could find the sirens start going off
00:14:41
and I'm just driving and driving and
00:14:43
she's like where are you going and I'm
00:14:44
like I don't know Brit's like well maybe
00:14:46
we should pull over you know on the side
00:14:48
of the road here maybe we should pull
00:14:50
over um in front of this 7-Eleven and
00:14:52
I'm like are you crazy there's you know
00:14:54
cameras everywhere and I'm we're we're
00:14:57
just driving and driving Ding and you
00:15:00
know I noticed you know all the lights
00:15:02
and everything sort of seemed like it
00:15:03
was in slow motion like um I wasn't even
00:15:06
really there like it was a movie or
00:15:08
something you know like we were Thelma
00:15:09
and Louise all of a sudden Brit yells at
00:15:11
me and she's like who slow down you know
00:15:14
and I almost ran a stop sign as if it
00:15:16
mattered that I ran a stop sign at that
00:15:19
point and it finally dawned on us we
00:15:22
have to get rid of this car because
00:15:24
otherwise we're going to jail for the
00:15:27
rest of our lives
00:15:30
yo Christine sori letters should be
00:15:35
GTA Grand Theft Auto she stole a cop car
00:15:39
and now she's in a rush to make a
00:15:41
getaway the story ships into high gear
00:15:43
when we return on statute of limitations
00:15:48
next welcome back to statute of
00:15:50
limitations Christine a soror girl and
00:15:53
he wnab be lawmaker has turned into a
00:15:55
full-on law breaker she stole a cop car
00:15:59
and I know the cops like eating Donuts
00:16:01
but I don't think they like people doing
00:16:03
donuts especially in their police car
00:16:07
right now she's going to get out of this
00:16:09
Jam I don't know guys we're going to
00:16:11
have to check this
00:16:13
out we're just driving and driving and
00:16:16
you know I noticed you know all the
00:16:18
lights and everything sort of seemed
00:16:20
like it was in slow motion like um I
00:16:23
wasn't even really there like it was a
00:16:24
movie or something you know like we were
00:16:26
thma and Louise all of a sudden Brit
00:16:28
yells at me and she's like wao slow down
00:16:31
you know and I almost ran a stop sign as
00:16:33
if it mattered that I ran a stop sign at
00:16:35
that point and it finally dawned on us
00:16:39
we have to get rid of this car because
00:16:41
otherwise we're going to jail for the
00:16:44
rest of our lives Now Phoenix is kind of
00:16:47
a weird city right so it's all of these
00:16:50
big developments and you're driving and
00:16:52
then all of a sudden you're just in the
00:16:53
desert so we're driving up this like
00:16:56
really little rocky like Road it wasn't
00:16:59
even really a road at that point it was
00:17:01
mostly you know dirt and sand and gravel
00:17:05
and I see this rock formation up ahead
00:17:07
so I decide I'm going to pull around
00:17:09
that and we're going to park there we
00:17:11
pull up and we park and we open the
00:17:15
doors and I stick my head out of the
00:17:17
door and I'm looking around and all I
00:17:19
see is like cacti and we both you know
00:17:24
crawl down out of the car and we like
00:17:28
craw all in our bellies like maybe 10 ft
00:17:30
before we actually stand up and we are
00:17:32
covered in sand and dirt and then we
00:17:35
start walking and walking and it is the
00:17:38
desert and it is Arizona and we are
00:17:43
dripping with sweat we had like one
00:17:46
little water bottle between the two of
00:17:48
us we walked for hours I swear I saw an
00:17:51
oasis with a palm tree I'm getting
00:17:54
completely sunburned and Brit's face was
00:17:57
a mess I noed a vulture was circling us
00:18:01
so I was like um we're going to die out
00:18:03
here I want to cry but there's no more
00:18:06
tears left cuz I was totally dehydrated
00:18:09
we finally make it back to campus and I
00:18:12
am red as a beat and I decide I have to
00:18:17
like hide out so I'm lying in bed that
00:18:20
night after I stoble the cop car and I
00:18:24
my skin is on fire I threw a ton of aloe
00:18:27
all over my myself and I'm just laying
00:18:29
there and then I realized I wasn't
00:18:31
wearing gloves so they could find my
00:18:33
fingerprints so I text Brit and I was
00:18:35
like come here now so she came over and
00:18:37
I said we have to go back and she's like
00:18:39
are you crazy you never go back to the
00:18:41
scene of the crime and I was like well
00:18:43
we have to we're driving through every
00:18:46
pile of sand looks the same and I
00:18:49
finally see a rock formation that I
00:18:52
think looks pretty familiar so I say
00:18:56
Brit that's it that's it it's got to be
00:18:58
be it so we drive up this little Hill
00:19:02
and we go around the rock formation and
00:19:05
there's the car and I was like thank you
00:19:08
nobody has found the car yet I can't
00:19:10
even believe it was still there it was
00:19:12
crazy we wiped off every inch of that
00:19:14
cop car and I I mean I probably went
00:19:17
over it like three or four times because
00:19:18
I was so paranoid I was like we you know
00:19:21
we're going to get caught so we did that
00:19:25
and I was trying to think did did I
00:19:26
leave you know did I leave my d a
00:19:28
anywhere was there was did I leave a
00:19:30
hair follicle you know I watched a lot
00:19:32
of True Crime so so we get back to the
00:19:36
door room and I made her swear you can
00:19:38
never tell anyone about this so sorry
00:19:41
Brit I told someone about this but yeah
00:19:45
and then I waited in my dorm room with
00:19:48
my fingers crossed hoping that you know
00:19:50
they did not find any fingerprints or I
00:19:53
don't know DNA or something like that
00:19:56
and um yeah they didn't and no one said
00:20:00
anything to me I couldn't believe it I
00:20:02
was just so thankful and uh Brit never
00:20:07
said anything to anyone I never said
00:20:09
anything to anyone and we kind of all
00:20:11
just pretended it didn't happen but I
00:20:13
never went back to another women's March
00:20:16
and I just kind of laid low at school
00:20:20
for the rest of my time there so I never
00:20:22
went into politics I'm not that much of
00:20:25
a criminal I'm in marketing and
00:20:27
advertising
00:20:29
and that's my
00:20:30
story so in the end Christine and the
00:20:33
Machine were both okay thanks to Arizona
00:20:36
statute of limitations if she ever runs
00:20:38
for office she's got big daddy s's vote
00:20:42

00:20:44
show I like the situation satino hope

complicated and depend on many factors

counsel from a competent attorney in
