00:00:03
so a little birdie told me that you're
00:00:05
leaving Oak Farm what a shame
00:00:08
but you taught me in year six all those
00:00:10
years ago and yeah I just wanted to say
00:00:13
thank you very much for teaching me
00:00:15
getting me onto the next step making me
00:00:17
trying to become one more step to
00:00:18
becoming an adult
00:00:22
sashan was just uh kind soul
00:00:26
he was thoughtful he was caring and he
00:00:30
wanted the best for everyone
00:00:31
hi guys what is up it's um Sean Daniel
00:00:34
here
00:00:36
family means the world to us
00:00:40
Sean was
00:00:41
a son that I believe every parent would
00:00:44
want to have
00:00:46
to Sean celebrate his 20th birthday with
00:00:49
both us as friends and his family as
00:00:52
well he loved to dance and he was a very
00:00:55
very kind of positive person
00:01:00
I had a phone call from Deshawn's
00:01:02
friend's dad
00:01:03
didn't say much he just said something
00:01:05
happened
00:01:08
reports were a fight of a stabbing you
00:01:11
know a male being seriously injured when
00:01:14
we got there there was loads of police
00:01:16
cars ambulances there was everyone
00:01:18
crowding around basically I just
00:01:21
couldn't understand what was going on
00:01:24
and I didn't even notice the wounds or
00:01:27
anything I was just staring at tashan's
00:01:29
face stroking him
00:01:31
wondering why
00:01:33
he wasn't responding
00:01:35
two young men together at a train
00:01:38
station and at least one of them is
00:01:40
looking for trouble and two young men on
00:01:44
the other side of the platform were the
00:01:46
unfortunate victims they were chosen
00:01:49
completely at random these murderers are
00:01:53
cowardly in their actions they felt it
00:01:56
appropriate to carry a weapon of that
00:01:58
nature on a busy train station
00:02:01
and the lack of remorse shown throughout
00:02:05
is clear for all to see
00:02:08
I know for a fact those particular men
00:02:10
don't know my son or his friend two
00:02:13
total strangers just didn't like the
00:02:16
look of them
00:02:18
and took my son's life
00:02:21
[Music]
00:02:25
he just turned 20.

00:02:52
was still in bed and I was getting ready
00:02:55
for school usually I always say goodbye
00:02:59
to him in the mornings he would come
00:03:00
downstairs while I'd be eating my
00:03:01
breakfast
00:03:03
that day he was very tired because he
00:03:06
had training the day before so he stayed
00:03:08
and had a lion
00:03:09
then I left for school without saying a
00:03:12
proper goodbye
00:03:15
Tashan had taken his granddad to a
00:03:19
daycare center dropped him there and
00:03:22
then popped in to see his mum at work
00:03:25
had lunch with her
00:03:27
picked his granddad back up again
00:03:29
dropped him home
00:03:31
I was home we spoke
00:03:34
and he was really excited about going to
00:03:36
the game
00:03:40
from a very young age he kind of got
00:03:42
embedded with into the Arsenal culture
00:03:44
the gooners
00:03:47
he would treat himself he bought a
00:03:50
Arsenal ticket to watch the game on that
00:03:52
24th
00:03:54
he got changed put his Arsenal top on
00:03:57
and his friend came to meet him at home
00:04:00
I was doing something on the computer
00:04:01
that I needed his help because Tashan
00:04:03
was my technical guy I was absolutely
00:04:06
useless but because he was in a rush he
00:04:08
couldn't do it he just ruffled my head
00:04:11
gave me a kiss like he always did and he
00:04:14
said Dad I'll sort out tomorrow
00:04:17
and off they went they walked down to to
00:04:21
the train station
00:04:28
I was originally meant to go with him to
00:04:30
the Arsenal game
00:04:31
but I couldn't get the time off work so
00:04:34
I found myself coming back on the train
00:04:36
when I noticed that Hillingdon was out
00:04:38
of service at the time I didn't know why
00:04:42
I returned home
00:04:44
I did message him to ask him how he was
00:04:46
getting to the football game but I
00:04:48
didn't have a reply at this point

British Council Place is responsible for
00:05:00
all crimes that take place on the
00:05:01
railway station and Railway
00:05:03
infrastructure from the lowest
00:05:05
investigation which is probably a fair
00:05:06
evasion up into the most serious
00:05:08
investigations such as murders
00:05:14
British transport police were informed
00:05:16
through 999 calls made by Witnesses and
00:05:18
members of the public at Hillingdon the
00:05:21
reports were of a fight of a stabbing a
00:05:24
male being seriously injured
00:05:26
very clearly it was a serious incident
00:05:28
that we were going to have to deal with
00:05:32
I'd finished school that day and when I
00:05:35
got home I sat downstairs with my dad
00:05:39
then my dad had got a phone call from uh
00:05:43
to Sean's friend's dad the only thing
00:05:46
that we'd been told was to go to the
00:05:48
station
00:05:49
me and ocean jumped in the car to drive
00:05:51
down to the station I rang Celia
00:05:55
got the feeling that something bad that
00:05:57
happened
00:05:58
driving from work to the station
00:06:02
my mum mentioned that there had been a
00:06:04
stabbing at Linden station but at the
00:06:06
point nothing was revealed to the public
00:06:08
of who it was
00:06:11
as I was driving down there the phone
00:06:13
call was someone had been stabbed
00:06:16
and I just refused to believe it Peter
00:06:18
shine there was no way
00:06:21
and there's no way Sean's never been in
00:06:23
trouble
00:06:24
he would walk away from a fight
00:06:29
tried to call him about five times and I
00:06:31
also messaged him asking him if he was
00:06:34
okay
00:06:34
I tried to call my friend who was also
00:06:37
with him
00:06:39
at that time as well it was 3 30 3 40 in
00:06:42
the afternoon at hillington station
00:06:46
it just didn't add up
00:06:51
I told her she wanted to stay in the car
00:06:53
and I ran into the station
00:06:56
policeman said no you can't go down
00:06:58
there and I said to them that I think
00:07:00
it's my son
00:07:04
[Music]
00:07:06
when I arrived at the station
00:07:11
there was
00:07:13
lows lows loads of police
00:07:16
ambulance cars everything
00:07:20
by that time Shandy was already with him
00:07:22
holding him and Oceana was just at the
00:07:25
top of the station looking down
00:07:27
so they took me down
00:07:30
to him because I begged please I need to
00:07:32
go I need to go down
00:07:37
I think there was difficulties in some
00:07:39
respects of them entering the scene
00:07:41
because it was a crime scene
00:07:43
we discovered that a male had been
00:07:45
injured which turned out to be cheshan
00:07:47
along with that there was a friend who
00:07:49
was present with Tashan at the time
00:07:52
there are multiple units arriving at
00:07:54
different times there was a very quick
00:07:56
police response along with the ambulance
00:07:58
service the air ambulance attended as
00:08:00
well
00:08:05
and it was very quickly established that
00:08:07
Sean's life was pronounced extinct
00:08:15
a member of the air ambulance paramedic
00:08:18
said to me that they've been working on
00:08:20
Tashan for 20 minutes
00:08:22
they had tried everything they could do
00:08:26
um he'd lost a lot of blood
00:08:28
and unfortunately
00:08:30
they're going to stop working over here
00:08:33
and then we can see they're rushed over
00:08:35
to Tashan
00:08:37
and then I had to tell tell Celia
00:08:43
Sean's parents would have witnessed a
00:08:45
horrific scene really
00:08:47
there was an awful lot of blood
00:08:50
obviously distressed people still around
00:08:53
medical staff
00:08:56
um well obviously the most impactive
00:08:58
film they saw was was to Sean
00:09:01
and probably that sense of helplessness
00:09:06
I still couldn't get my head around it
00:09:09
I just thought we'd Fallen
00:09:11
I was in shock I just couldn't
00:09:14
understand what was going on I didn't
00:09:16
even notice the wounds or anything I was
00:09:19
just staring at Deshawn's face he still
00:09:22
getting him wondering why
00:09:24
he wasn't responding
00:09:27
Shandy was still holding him
00:09:30
and I asked could I hold his hand please
00:09:33
and they said just for a minute because
00:09:35
he had just
00:09:37
and pronounce
00:09:40
I Collapse on the floor
00:09:43
and one of the officers kind of hold me
00:09:45
back call me up
00:09:47
Sean received a single stab wound that
00:09:51
punctured his chest punctured his heart
00:09:55
and into the lung
00:09:57
which was the Fatal and only
00:10:00
injury that Sean received
00:10:04
I just remember my dad's screaming
00:10:07
saying that he didn't make it
00:10:10
the emotions I was feeling was just
00:10:12
numbness really I couldn't comprehend it
00:10:15
I couldn't take it in
00:10:23
as soon as to Sean was going to be dead
00:10:25
then that became a murder investigation
00:10:29
there are certain kind of fast-time
00:10:31
actions which are generated which is
00:10:33
securing the scene and making sure that
00:10:35
nothing's contaminated making sure any
00:10:37
evidence that we can obtain is obtained
00:10:39
in a forensic manner
00:10:41
and they're looking wider afield about
00:10:43
how we can capture images suspect
00:10:46
movements and what's actually taken
00:10:48
place
00:10:49
there's also the harvesting of
00:10:51
intelligence in relation to what
00:10:52
Witnesses say they saw Which Way those
00:10:55
suspects went was anything discarded so
00:10:58
quite quickly your scene is very very
00:11:00
large
00:11:05
you think that violent assaults take
00:11:08
place in dark Corners not in front of
00:11:12
everybody on a busy train platform this
00:11:15
is not what you expect to happen in
00:11:18
front of your eyes in the midst of a
00:11:20
crowd I think that any conceptions you
00:11:23
had about what is a safe place and what
00:11:26
is not a safe place a suddenly blown out
00:11:29
of the water
00:11:33
the station itself we found no real
00:11:35
evidence apart from the evidence which
00:11:36
was unfortunately Tashan
00:11:38
we had multiple Witnesses at the scene
00:11:40
who actually seen the incident albeit
00:11:42
bleaching late as the train had pulled
00:11:44
into the station
00:11:45
most of arguments as were on the train
00:11:48
so some of their Visions was obscured
00:11:50
and the train was moving at the time but
00:11:53
it became quite apparent there had been
00:11:54
an altercation on the platform
00:11:59
on the CCTV it showed the white male
00:12:01
quite quickly gets involved in a heath
00:12:04
discussion argument with two males on
00:12:07
the opposite platform
00:12:09
as he's going up the stairs he meets the
00:12:12
black male
00:12:14
and they both then go down onto that
00:12:16
opposite platform where Tashan was with
00:12:18
his friend
00:12:21
and almost instantaneously a physical
00:12:23
assault starts taking place
00:12:29
[Music]
00:12:32
in the initial stage is the
00:12:33
investigation I had to base my
00:12:35
hypotheses on what I think is taking
00:12:37
place the reasons for it
00:12:40
initially I thought that it would be
00:12:43
Gang Related or that there was knowledge
00:12:46
of issues between the two parties and
00:12:49
then maybe it being football related
00:12:51
because DeSean was wearing an Arsenal
00:12:53
football shirt
00:12:57
we need to identify those suspects are
00:12:59
so I put parameters in place in relation
00:13:01
to CCTV trolls
00:13:05
and obviously house to house inquiries
00:13:07
the witness appeal that we launched very
00:13:10
very quickly in multiple social media
00:13:12
lines that we're getting in all of these
00:13:14
revenues we have to explore and have to
00:13:16
develop to try and identify who those
00:13:19
suspects are a white male and a black
00:13:21
male in London
00:13:24
foreign
00:13:38
I couldn't do anything until Sean's gone
00:13:41
and my heart just shattered
00:13:44
they ushered us into staff ticket office
00:13:47
room at Hidden station
00:13:49
none of us knew what to do really it was
00:13:51
just
00:13:52
you know I only had lots of Tears hugs
00:13:54
and things but we were all in a step
00:13:57
shock we were just still couldn't
00:13:59
understand couldn't believe it
00:14:02
would have been the last person that
00:14:03
should have happened to you just
00:14:05
wouldn't sink in just couldn't process
00:14:07
it really
00:14:10
Sean did not have any graduates with
00:14:12
anyone no one had anything against a
00:14:14
chance so
00:14:16
for someone to do this
00:14:18
it had to be a stranger
00:14:22
[Music]
00:14:33
was the most amazing son
00:14:37
he had manners
00:14:39
he looked after all his cousins
00:14:42
his friends
00:14:44
just know life you don't get the results
00:14:46
you want just know everything happens
00:14:48
for a reason like in the day like
00:14:50
everything will work out in his end like
00:14:52
if things go back it's how you come back
00:14:54
from that in it buying a setbacks major
00:14:55
combats G come on
00:14:59
and especially his baby sister
00:15:05
to Sean had a bond that I can't really
00:15:08
describe
00:15:09
we got on like best friends
00:15:12
there would obviously be times where we
00:15:15
didn't get along but most of the time
00:15:17
that we spent was always laughing
00:15:22
me and Tashan grew up together
00:15:24
we played for various different football
00:15:26
teams I believe we started at the age of
00:15:28
five
00:15:29
to Sean had a real passion for athletics
00:15:32
it was 200 meters 400 meters and long
00:15:35
jump
00:15:37
his passion really came when he excelled
00:15:39
at 200 meters he was absolutely
00:15:41
demolishing his time and also breaking
00:15:44
records within the borough and Middlesex
00:15:46
[Music]
00:15:49
I had a group of young athletes and
00:15:51
Tashan was one of them
00:15:54
I soon noticed that Tashan had
00:15:57
an ability that not many people have
00:16:01
he was very explosive very elastic type
00:16:04
of athlete which is necessary for
00:16:06
sprinting this kid had the ability to go
00:16:10
very far in the sport and he wanted to
00:16:12
go as far as the Olympic Games and that
00:16:14
was definitely something that we was
00:16:15
heading towards
00:16:24
[Music]
00:16:28
foreign
00:16:30
occurred on September 24 2019 at the
00:16:34
tube station during Peak commuter time
00:16:38
there were plenty of witnesses lots of
00:16:40
people going in and out of the station
00:16:42
CCTV cameras this was not something that
00:16:45
was going to be hidden for long and
00:16:48
certainly the people that did it knew
00:16:49
that they were in plain sight of lots of
00:16:52
onlookers and chose to do it anyway
00:16:59
when we started researching to Sean and
00:17:02
his friend these were really good kids
00:17:05
there was nothing in relation to them
00:17:07
and the police it became very apparent
00:17:09
very very quickly that Tashan didn't
00:17:12
know the Suspects
00:17:15
and so it was really just a stranger
00:17:16
attack it seemed to be completely and
00:17:18
utterly unprovoked
00:17:25
[Music]
00:17:28
Witnesses reported along with the CCTV
00:17:31
of the location that showed both
00:17:33
suspects running out of the station
00:17:35
stopping briefly and appearing to smile
00:17:38
only moments after taking to Sean's life
00:17:42
this is obviously going to cause concern
00:17:45
for the officers who are in charge of
00:17:47
this investigation are they going to do
00:17:48
something similar soon because they seem
00:17:50
to have enjoyed this experience and so
00:17:52
they're going to want to find them as
00:17:54
soon as possible
00:17:56
[Music]
00:17:59
we are able to establish very very
00:18:01
quickly that they exited the station and
00:18:03
following that Witnesses have started
00:18:05
reporting that they'd send two males
00:18:08
acting suspiciously approximately about
00:18:10
500 meters away to erosion Oriole Drive
00:18:14
that was probably an hour and a half
00:18:16
after the instant
00:18:19
and there we found clothing that had
00:18:21
been discarded
00:18:29
their intention was to disguise
00:18:32
themselves and they've done that by
00:18:34
removing their clothing stealing women's
00:18:36
pajamas from a washing line and a towel
00:18:39
for the purpose of making sure that they
00:18:41
weren't seen in the clothing they had
00:18:43
been wearing albeit the disguises they
00:18:45
chose probably made moms are probably
00:18:47
more aware of their movements and their
00:18:49
behavior
00:18:53
whilst that crime scene was maintained
00:18:55
we brought in a dog and that police dog
00:18:57
identified the location of the murder
00:19:00
weapon which had been hidden under some
00:19:02
rocks separate and away from the
00:19:05
clothing
00:19:06
this wasn't a kitchen knife taken from a
00:19:09
block at a home this was an aviator
00:19:12
knife produced in Germany it was a
00:19:15
horrific knife
00:19:17
one that if you were to stab somebody
00:19:20
with that knife there's really only one
00:19:22
consequence which is going to happen
00:19:23
from that
00:19:25
and that unfortunately is the death of
00:19:27
another human being
00:19:31
[Music]
00:19:38
I got a call from my dad saying he's
00:19:39
coming straight home and that we were to
00:19:41
go around to Sean's house to speak to
00:19:44
the family and I remember getting
00:19:47
outside the door and the police were
00:19:49
still there
00:19:51
they asked me why are you going in how
00:19:54
do you know the family
00:19:55
and I'll explain to them how I knew them
00:19:59
and then one of them gave me a hug and I
00:20:02
asked them whether he was he passed away
00:20:04
and they said yeah
00:20:09
what made it real for me was when I
00:20:11
walked through the door and I saw his
00:20:13
parents in pieces and that's when I
00:20:15
broke down
00:20:20
it just felt weird really that my
00:20:24
brother was on the news
00:20:25
as a victim of knife crime something
00:20:28
that I never ever in my life would have
00:20:30
thought happened
00:20:32
so the police were very supportive they
00:20:34
gave us the information that they could
00:20:36
of at the time as much of the
00:20:39
information that they knew they didn't
00:20:40
really know much no one knew much I
00:20:43
tried to distract myself by going to
00:20:45
school and obviously I know things were
00:20:48
never going to go back to normal but I
00:20:50
just wanted it to I just I hated
00:20:52
everything that was going on
00:20:55
days after it happened with tishon
00:20:59
and myself were not sleeping at all
00:21:05
we've actually
00:21:07
was sleeping into Sean's bedroom
00:21:14
you know thinking maybe he's going to
00:21:16
come home
00:21:16
[Music]
00:21:19
but we know he wasn't coming back
00:21:23
three of us were completely emptied
00:21:28
I had no more tears left
00:21:30
all three of us were completely flat
00:21:34
the DCI said to us he know
00:21:37
looking at some of the footage at that
00:21:40
particular time it was on provoke
00:21:43
and he said to us
00:21:46
we will find we will get them
00:21:48
he may declare that it was not
00:21:52
gang-related drugs related it was an
00:21:55
innocent young man standing waiting for
00:21:57
a train
00:21:59
I know my son and his friend are not
00:22:02
Fighters
00:22:05
they're just normal too large just
00:22:07
minding their own business
00:22:16
conception that a victim must have done
00:22:18
something to provoke an attack
00:22:21
particularly when that victim is a black
00:22:25
young man now Tashan was not involved in
00:22:28
any gang-related activity he was not
00:22:31
involved in any law breaking activity
00:22:35
he was in no way connected to the man
00:22:39
who chose to kill him so he's completely
00:22:42
innocent in all of this
00:22:44
so having visited the family I was
00:22:47
immediately presented with a loving
00:22:50
family one that was all coming together
00:22:52
all wanting to know the process how we
00:22:55
were going to capture these people that
00:22:57
had done this to their son and loved one
00:23:00
and that puts extra pressure on me but
00:23:02
at the same time Mooney pushes me
00:23:04
forward and drives me to make sure that
00:23:06
we get the best possible result we can
00:23:07
get for the family
00:23:12
so when we found that clothing and the
00:23:14
knife because it was forensically
00:23:16
recovered by trained officers and that
00:23:18
was sent to the laboratory for analysis
00:23:20
and three days later that result came
00:23:23
back on a specific baseball cap which
00:23:26
gave us the DNA of the suspect the white
00:23:29
male who was Alex Lanning
00:23:34
through moment the investigation because
00:23:36
there's DNA of somebody else and that's
00:23:40
somebody else is Alex Lanning
00:23:45
Alex Lanning was known to the police
00:23:48
planning had been sentenced in relation
00:23:50
to a section 20 wounding where a knife
00:23:54
had been used in Brighton during a drug
00:23:57
deal
00:23:58
not only has Lanning served time for
00:24:01
stabbing somebody not once but 11 times
00:24:03
he's actually still on license for that
00:24:07
offense he was sentenced to four years
00:24:09
and served half of that probably a very
00:24:12
lenient sentence to take account of his
00:24:14
young age
00:24:15
but here he is he's on license he should
00:24:18
be keeping his nose clean not involving
00:24:21
himself in totally unnecessary and
00:24:24
Mindless violence
00:24:28
it's my opinion that Alex Landing would
00:24:30
have known that he would have either
00:24:31
seriously injured or killed Deshawn just
00:24:35
by the nature of the weapon that he used
00:24:37
the force he used and the fact that he
00:24:40
would have been covered in blood
00:24:43
thank you
00:24:45
the fact that this man had this specific
00:24:48
type of knife and had no reason to use
00:24:50
it shows that he was co-opting it for
00:24:52
criminal purpose and then to use it
00:24:55
against this poor boy who had done
00:24:57
nothing to him it was almost like he was
00:25:00
getting a thrill out of it perhaps
00:25:02
because he had done in the past and
00:25:04
enjoyed it so much or because he wanted
00:25:06
more Street Credibility by using this
00:25:09
knife and really didn't care about the
00:25:10
consequences
00:25:12
this was a very very quick confrontation
00:25:15
started by Alex Lanning on the opposite
00:25:18
platform
00:25:19
and then carried through to the attack
00:25:21
on Tashan and his friend
00:25:28
so we now have Alex Landing
00:25:31
my main priority is him and finding out
00:25:33
everything I possibly can about his
00:25:35
friends Associates where he lives his
00:25:39
family try to put things in place to
00:25:41
identify and catch him in relation to
00:25:44
this murder
00:25:45
the killer and his accomplished go on
00:25:47
the run it tells you a little bit about
00:25:49
them these are not a pair of individuals
00:25:53
who are going to hand themselves in
00:25:55
they're not going to acknowledge what
00:25:57
they've done and what they have taken
00:25:59
from tashan's family so they're clearly
00:26:03
not really thinking about this in a way
00:26:06
that serves anybody other than
00:26:07
themselves
00:26:12
we established that Alex lanning's
00:26:15
iPhone had turned back on which gave us
00:26:18
hope of identifying where his location
00:26:19
would be but it quickly transpired that
00:26:23
Alex Langley had sold his iPhone with
00:26:25
the assistance of of two friends in a
00:26:28
local second-hand shop in Uxbridge and
00:26:31
have received a significant amount of
00:26:33
money the problem then for us carrying
00:26:35
out a Manhunt was they now have funds so
00:26:38
it makes it harder because they can go
00:26:40
further and actually stay off the police
00:26:42
radar for longer which is a frustration
00:26:46
foreign
00:26:50
work in relation to Alex Landing what
00:26:53
his life was about his family his
00:26:55
friends his associates people he'd been
00:26:57
in prison with we're doing all of that
00:26:59
research
00:27:01
but I still have another suspect
00:27:02
outstanding
00:27:05
four hours after the name of Alex
00:27:07
Landing came through we received
00:27:09
intelligence that linked A Jojo that's
00:27:12
all we had a nickname on Sunday the 29th
00:27:15
in the early hours we found a nickname
00:27:18
of Jojo was running a drug slide in the
00:27:21
southwest further research on jojo gave
00:27:24
us a custom image
00:27:25
and he matched the CCTV from Hillingdon
00:27:29
and the blackmail
00:27:30
Jonathan Camille
00:27:34
Johnson Camille only had a previous
00:27:36
caution in relation to drugs but there
00:27:39
was Intelligence linking Jonathan
00:27:40
Camille to drug Supply not just in that
00:27:43
area of Hillingdon but also wider field
00:27:46
Jonathan Camille was somebody who was
00:27:48
known to the police because he'd been
00:27:49
involved in county lines drug dealing so
00:27:52
that's trafficking drugs from one area
00:27:55
of the UK to another now a lot of young
00:27:59
boys are often recruited into county
00:28:01
lines so they are exploited and it's
00:28:05
possible that he had been exploited as a
00:28:08
youth but as an adult he had continued
00:28:11
drug dealing and at that point he is
00:28:13
fully responsible for his actions
00:28:16
we had a Manhunt
00:28:19
we were trying to find Alex Lanning and
00:28:22
Jonathan Camille who were doing their
00:28:25
best to evade Us in London and the home
00:28:27
counties
00:28:28
so the needle in the haystack Springs to
00:28:30
mind
00:28:32
what I found very very difficult was
00:28:34
having to speak to the family regularly
00:28:36
and just to keep them on board that we
00:28:39
were doing everything we could and that
00:28:42
we knew who they were
00:28:43
it was just we just had to find them
00:28:47
I was more scared for my daughter Oceana
00:28:50
because how close it happened to home
00:28:53
how close we lived from the station
00:28:56
a small prayer to protect her
00:28:58
while they were still on the Run
00:29:03
so I started to think how am I going to
00:29:05
actually capture Alex Lanning and
00:29:08
Jonathan Camille
00:29:09
we found Jonathan Camille through his
00:29:12
family Associates
00:29:14
and we started monitoring his movements
00:29:17
but my main focus was Alex Lanning he
00:29:20
was the one that had used that weapon
00:29:22
and I needed Alex Landing in custody
00:29:25
[Music]
00:29:27
well I've got a choice to make in a
00:29:29
restaurant from Camille and then
00:29:31
potentially Alex Lanning goes further
00:29:33
and further away more under the radar
00:29:35
but I felt that we were getting closer
00:29:38
and closer to Alex Lanning with that
00:29:40
link to Jonathan Camille and I knew that
00:29:43
I had to get Alex Landing in custody
00:29:46
the police at this point would be
00:29:48
looking at their mobile phones tracing
00:29:51
where calls are coming from they'd be
00:29:53
looking at whether there's a digital
00:29:55
print of them so are they spending money
00:29:57
anywhere on their bank cards
00:30:00
put some triggers in place and that
00:30:03
involved some friends who'd been
00:30:05
involved in assisting Alex Lanning
00:30:08
selling his mobile phone and also
00:30:10
looking at a cellmate that Alex Landing
00:30:13
had spent five months in prison with
00:30:16
so we were looking at those Associates
00:30:18
we started arresting individuals or
00:30:21
applying some form of police pressure in
00:30:24
relation to making Camille and Lanning
00:30:27
come out to make them meet with each
00:30:28
other
00:30:30
my hypothesis is Jonathan Camille was
00:30:33
going to lead us to Alex Landing
00:30:38
we actually lost the surveillance on
00:30:40
Camille
00:30:41
I was under intense pressure but I've
00:30:44
got a very very supportive team and I
00:30:46
have an incredibly supportive family
00:30:48
into Sean's family
00:30:49
and they were kept up to date as best I
00:30:52
could
00:30:54
I don't think my heart actually worked
00:30:56
on those 10 days it was really really
00:30:59
nerve-wracking
00:31:01
because I didn't want my son to shine
00:31:05
Killers to be on the Run
00:31:11
we have phone activation and we managed
00:31:13
to obtain surveillance again on Jonathan
00:31:16
Camille in central London where he met
00:31:18
with Alex Lanning we then continued that
00:31:21
surveillance through Central London
00:31:22
along Oxford Street
00:31:26
they were located in court in the cheap
00:31:29
side area of London
00:31:31
on October the 4th 2019 Lanning and
00:31:36
Camille Camille were arrested so this
00:31:38
was after 10 days on the Run
00:31:43
a great sense of relief when we were
00:31:44
able to inform the family that we'd kept
00:31:47
good on our promise
00:31:49
we're going to arrest the individuals
00:31:51
involved in killing to Sean
00:31:55
they'd supported me through those 10
00:31:57
days of that investigation
00:31:59
when I made that promise and they'd kept
00:32:02
faith
00:32:05
I must say The British transport police
00:32:07
was really really good with us every
00:32:10
little bit leading up to the arrest they
00:32:12
would keep us in touch let us know how
00:32:15
close what they're planning to do what
00:32:17
the situation is and exactly what they
00:32:21
said to us that they wanted to catch
00:32:24
both of them together not just one and
00:32:26
the other they did exactly what they did
00:32:29
and caught the both of them together
00:32:31
knowing that they're called to them some
00:32:33
form of Justice could be served
00:32:37
in order to put my son to rest properly
00:32:46
Alex Landing was interviewed at length
00:32:49
around the murder he chose to answer all
00:32:53
comments no comments and gave no
00:32:56
indication or remorse during those
00:32:58
interviews
00:33:01
Jonathan Camille was also interviewed
00:33:03
during custody where he prepared a
00:33:04
statement and that statement basically
00:33:06
denied his involvement in the murder
00:33:09
[Music]
00:33:11
and that was really all that he said
00:33:17
[Music]
00:33:21
the memorial that we had for tasham was
00:33:24
as good as it could be it was emotional
00:33:27
however it was a good way to celebrate
00:33:32
to Sean's life
00:33:34
is looking down on us right now I
00:33:37
haven't truly believe he knows how much
00:33:38
he was loved from family to friends to
00:33:40
Sean's honorable he cared for everyone
00:33:43
and he always done his best to make
00:33:45
everyone around the world
00:33:48
healing then literally came into a
00:33:49
standstill the gospel singing
00:33:53
um
00:33:54
the live band
00:33:58
the amount of people
00:34:01
told me it was about a thousand people
00:34:03
there on that day
00:34:07
our Sam was fresh flying funky because
00:34:10
that's the person that sisham was we all
00:34:14
wore trainers
00:34:15
Sean loved his trainers
00:34:18
we listen to his favorite music
00:34:20
everyone kind of got together to
00:34:22
celebrate the amazing person to Sean was
00:34:25
so many people said they've never been
00:34:27
to to something like that in the end of
00:34:29
time it was just
00:34:31
made us really proud
00:34:33
um Tashan
00:34:36
that we were able to give to Sean that
00:34:37
send off
00:34:42
we will all never forget you our best
00:34:44
friend our brother our family may you
00:34:48
rest in Eternal peace I love you brother
00:34:51
thank you
00:34:54
I think he was with us in spirit and I
00:34:57
think he would have been happy with the
00:34:59
turnout and also all the loved ones that
00:35:02
were there to celebrate his life
00:35:05
it made me proud to call to Sean my
00:35:07
brother
00:35:09
because he made me and so many other
00:35:12
people in the Supreme Court the rest of
00:35:14
everyone
00:35:15
I love you
00:35:17
[Applause]
00:35:20
[Music]
00:35:27
when we received back the DNA analysis
00:35:30
from that murder weapon it just
00:35:32
confirmed what we already knew that
00:35:34
supporting evidence that Alex Lange's
00:35:37
DNA was on that murder weapon
00:35:39
unfortunately along with the DNA of
00:35:41
Deshawn Daniels
00:35:51
the process is always a very daunting
00:35:53
one probably made even more so by it
00:35:56
being the most famous court in the land
00:35:57
the old bayley I get nervous at the Old
00:36:00
Bailey
00:36:02
I can only imagine how nervous
00:36:05
and traumatic it was for the family
00:36:10
we had to gear ourselves up for the
00:36:12
trial
00:36:14
but I've never been to court we've never
00:36:15
experienced anything like this so we
00:36:17
were psyching ourselves up for it
00:36:21
I particularly were very very scared
00:36:24
because when we first
00:36:27
set eyes on
00:36:29
the two lads
00:36:32
they had no remorse whatsoever
00:36:36
no remorse
00:36:39
and that
00:36:41
it was painful
00:36:45
painful
00:36:48
in court we were able to find out
00:36:50
exactly what had happened we were able
00:36:52
to also watch it on the CCTV as well and
00:36:55
how DeSean did spend the last moments of
00:36:58
his life and that my friend was also
00:37:01
pleading to DeSean to to hang on and to
00:37:04
do the best he could to stay alive and
00:37:07
it just goes to show the damage that one
00:37:09
that knife did and to the power that the
00:37:13
attacker did use to harm to Sean
00:37:17
foreign
00:37:20
[Music]
00:37:27
when it was the first day of the trial
00:37:30
he had looked back at us quite a lot of
00:37:32
times and I just remember questioning
00:37:33
like how do you have the audacity to
00:37:35
look at us in the eye
00:37:40
lannin he did not look up subtle he kind
00:37:44
of kept himself to himself he didn't
00:37:46
turn back he looked straight at the
00:37:49
judge
00:37:53
Alex Lanning he admitted the
00:37:55
manslaughter but claimed that it was an
00:37:57
accident that Tashan had fallen on the
00:38:01
knife
00:38:02
and then those defenses seemed to change
00:38:05
and morph slightly during the trial
00:38:08
but he always denied the murder
00:38:12
when I heard the defense's story I was
00:38:15
just shocked really I think that's the
00:38:18
best way to describe it I couldn't
00:38:19
believe the stuff that they were saying
00:38:24
the defense team tried to make it out
00:38:26
that desean's phone starting the
00:38:29
altercation by saying what you're
00:38:31
looking at
00:38:32
and to Sean had fired a punch to one of
00:38:36
the guys
00:38:38
[Music]
00:38:39
but he was actually trying to block
00:38:41
himself when he watched the footage
00:38:44
Deshawn was literally trying to protect
00:38:47
himself within a Split Second
00:38:50
he did that to my child
00:38:53
defense team saying it was an accident
00:38:57
it was not an accident
00:39:00
it was actually he went out there to do
00:39:03
something to somebody you do not walk
00:39:05
the street with the type of knife that
00:39:06
he walked with
00:39:10
so I hatred really
00:39:12
and it's not you know our nature to be
00:39:14
like that
00:39:16
but just for an immense hatred that two
00:39:19
people could do something like that to
00:39:21
someone else go on the run for 10 days
00:39:24
and some of the stuff that we heard in
00:39:25
court
00:39:26
was heartbreaking
00:39:35
received a life sentence in relation to
00:39:37
murder he will not be eligible for
00:39:39
parole for 25 years and Jonathan Camille
00:39:43
was convicted of manslaughter and was
00:39:46
sentenced to six years and six months
00:39:48
for his part in the event
00:39:50
and I think that is appropriate
00:39:55
the fact that Jonathan Camille wasn't
00:39:58
responsible for the blade being forced
00:40:01
into tashard's chest nevertheless his
00:40:05
specific involvement during that
00:40:07
violence
00:40:08
was a catalyst to all of the events and
00:40:11
he has to accept his responsibility for
00:40:14
the death of Tashan
00:40:16
almost as much as Alex Lanning
00:40:20
the nature of these offenses was
00:40:22
entirely impulsive and completely
00:40:25
Reckless
00:40:28
truly it could have happened to anybody
00:40:30
on that platform that day and
00:40:32
unfortunately it just so happened to
00:40:33
happen to DeShawn
00:40:40
this was like a five minute event
00:40:45
Alex landing on one platform
00:40:47
starting a confrontation an argument for
00:40:50
no reason and he could have just walked
00:40:52
away
00:40:54
and he didn't
00:40:57
and now the family are left with that
00:40:59
huge hole
00:41:00
and they can't feel that
00:41:09
as parents we had to watch in disbelief
00:41:12
as the paramedics worked on our son's
00:41:14
lifeless body on that platform at
00:41:16
Hillingdon
00:41:17
a platform which we will never be able
00:41:19
to use again
00:41:23
[Music]
00:41:27
it's frightening to think that all of
00:41:30
this can come from a glance you look at
00:41:35
the wrong person in a certain kind of
00:41:38
way that they interpret as a funny look
00:41:41
or a dirty look this is across a train
00:41:44
platform chances are that he wasn't even
00:41:47
looking at them in the first place and
00:41:49
if he were so what
00:41:53
this is a frightening part about this
00:41:56
the fact that violence can spring from
00:41:59
such a tiny tiny trigger
00:42:08
[Music]
00:42:12
I feel upset for my brother he didn't
00:42:16
get to have those dreams that he wanted
00:42:19
and it's just
00:42:22
foreign
00:42:26
say how angry I feel about
00:42:29
how he was killed because
00:42:31
someone didn't like the way he looked at
00:42:34
him
00:42:36
part of my heart is broken
00:42:39
and it's never going to be mended
00:42:42
ever again
00:42:45

00:42:54
it would have been beautiful to see how
00:42:57
his life would have planned out
00:42:58
it would have been beautiful to see that
00:43:00
because he's a good human being he's a
00:43:03
loving human being
00:43:07
I missed Ashan every single day
00:43:10
and there's not a day that goes by way I
00:43:12
don't think about him there's not a day
00:43:13
that goes by that don't think about what
00:43:15
he'd be doing right now with his
00:43:17
Athletics with him smashing the goals
00:43:25
we used to watch Tashan train here we
00:43:27
used to watch him compete here so it's
00:43:29
full of lots of good good good family
00:43:32
memories actually
00:43:35
it's a massive huge hole in our hearts
00:43:37
and real lives
00:43:41
I think everyone's got their own
00:43:43
memories of Tashan
00:43:45
it's definitely fun happy memories of
00:43:48
him
00:43:49
I don't really recall any bad words or
00:43:51
bad memories of that anyone has to save
00:43:53
to Sean and
00:43:55
for me as his dad as his I'm really
00:43:59
pleased to hear that um
00:44:01
I know that we raised a fine young man
00:44:04
and to hear the amazing words I've said
00:44:08
about him
00:44:10
with joy
00:44:15
as you can see
00:44:16
not much has really changed apart from
00:44:18
this little bum fluff on my face but
00:44:20
thank you very much teacher in year six
00:44:22
and uh I wish you all the best in your
00:44:24
next chapter of your life
