[Music]
00:00:45
kayin morrris welcome to my podcast
00:00:47
thank you Dom appreciate to be here M I
00:00:49
appreciate you coming over I'm not going
00:00:51
to lie like I I let you on at the door
00:00:52
downstairs went to get you um my first
00:00:56
thing is you do you look slightly
00:00:58
intimidating you've got the the patch on
00:01:00
you've got head hunter necklace um the
00:01:03
big rings and stuff it's an intimidating
00:01:05
look it is yeah it's well could be to
00:01:09
somebody but not to myself I feel like
00:01:11
these are my ones like U my bests as you
00:01:14
would say yeah these are my best I mean
00:01:18
we've had a brief conversation before we
00:01:19
came into the the podcast room and um
00:01:21
you're impecably well-mannered and
00:01:23
polite um I gave you a red bow you said
00:01:26
thanks I appreciate it um but the the
00:01:29
immediate thing I think um like most new
00:01:31
zealanders think when they they when if
00:01:33
they ever meet a gang member like this
00:01:34
is the first time I've ever met one in
00:01:36
my life is um you're immediately weary
00:01:38
or slightly
00:01:39
intimidated I'm intimidated no no no
00:01:42
you're intimidated oh yeah well yeah I
00:01:45
suppose yeah this ring could be
00:01:48
intimidating it's the whole it's the
00:01:50
whole thing um first of all why did you
00:01:53
agree to do a podcast well I think um I
00:01:56
just want to
00:02:00
I think I just want to like bringing
00:02:02
bring up a subject with the police and
00:02:05
the brutality that they um put me and my
00:02:07
family through to be honest I think I
00:02:09
just want to use this as an Avenue to um
00:02:10
push forward with that because I feel
00:02:13
like I'm just under a lot of pressure on
00:02:14
myself because of these new laws coming
00:02:17
through ngu and calt and whatever other
00:02:20
groups what do they mean National gang
00:02:22
unit right and C bolt is a um gang task
00:02:25
force where they look for firearms and
00:02:27
all that sort of stuff okay drugs and I
00:02:30
don't know what what they're up to now
00:02:32
but they did go on a trial period for
00:02:34
about 2 years and unfortunately I've
00:02:36
been under the you know the fire who
00:02:38
under the hammer because well since then
00:02:41
M um and it's yeah probably been about 2
00:02:43
or 3 years now with these guys so you
00:02:47
feel sort of sort of picked on or
00:02:48
persecuted yes absolutely would it would
00:02:51
it
00:02:51
be by the way I'm not I'm not um an
00:02:54
investigative journalist or anything I'm
00:02:56
just a guy that likes to have
00:02:57
conversations with people because I feel
00:02:59
like um by having a conversation with
00:03:01
someone you can understand them better
00:03:02
yes
00:03:04
um could you not would it be easy just
00:03:06
to like give up the patch cuz you I mean
00:03:08
you're you're from the brief
00:03:10
conversation we've had you're a really
00:03:12
nice personable guy um so without the
00:03:15
patch without the necklace if you just
00:03:16
had civilian clothes on um would would
00:03:19
that make life easier or is it not as
00:03:20
simple as
00:03:22
that well you're trying to tell me to be
00:03:24
somebody that I'm not that's how I feel
00:03:27
I mean everybody's raised different and
00:03:28
I was raised this way
00:03:31
and I mean yeah life could be a lot more
00:03:34
easier and then I you know get the
00:03:36
police saying you know why don't you
00:03:38
leave I like why are you trying to tell
00:03:39
me to leave why you asking me to leave
00:03:41
why should I leave I don't do anything
00:03:44
um wrong I try and stay morally correct
00:03:47
um there's my baby in the background um
00:03:50
but you know I just yeah I guess I like
00:03:53
motorcycles and this is an MC uh
00:03:56
Brotherhood um I suppose that when I
00:04:00
came here I had nothing as being a 501
00:04:03
10 years ago and um I started getting
00:04:06
into the drugs because I had nowhere to
00:04:08
go and I didn't know what to do so I
00:04:10
used that I used um well bit of meth
00:04:13
just to numb my brain and numb myself
00:04:16
and I I didn't know what to do to be
00:04:19
honest and I woke up my morning was I
00:04:23
decided to go to the fight club and the
00:04:25
qus out east and it's a gym so I decided
00:04:28
to go there and that's when
00:04:30
hunters and the fight club Saved My
00:04:32
Life um yeah pretty much saved my life I
00:04:37
mean we've only been going for 4 minutes
00:04:38
now but I think the um the immediate
00:04:41
sort of impression for anyone listening
00:04:43
uh to this is that you're you're quite
00:04:45
Artic I don't even know what that
00:04:48
means I'm an artist that means it just s
00:04:51
of means like well well spoken I guess
00:04:54
well spoken it's like um so you if
00:04:56
someone walked past you on the
00:04:58
street that a a preconceived idea of
00:05:01
what sort of person you are but then you
00:05:02
speak to you briefly for just a couple
00:05:04
of minutes and it's quite a quite
00:05:05
different to what you'd imagine yeah um
00:05:08
so I've got a lot of questions about
00:05:11
this and a lot of them are probably are
00:05:12
probably dumb questions um and I
00:05:14
apologize if they are but uh a lot of it
00:05:17
just comes from a place rule I'm not
00:05:19
going to speak about the club or um
00:05:22
speak on behalf of the club so yeah we
00:05:24
just don't speak about it at all but the
00:05:28
S like fight with bread
00:05:31
pit you could say that there's been a
00:05:33
few bloody bread pit moments here yeah
00:05:36
absolutely and that's how we sort out
00:05:37
our differences you know what I mean
00:05:39
right we get upstairs and we have our
00:05:41
one out and then shake hands and that's
00:05:42
how it's done oh really you fight with
00:05:45
other gang members well yeah that's
00:05:47
that's if that's an option y right about
00:05:50
what sort of things well I don't know
00:05:52
someone might have slept with somebody
00:05:53
else's girlfriend right right so you
00:05:55
have a fight like in a sort of
00:05:56
controlled environment okay um are you a
00:06:01
criminal is it no no but I do like to do
00:06:05
burnouts and I do like to have fun M
00:06:08
yeah but I'm not I don't do any criminal
00:06:10
activity no not not anymore but to be a
00:06:13
501 you must have um ah yes y I was yeah
00:06:16
yeah y you know um well I'm a Survivor
00:06:20
so you know you got to do survival
00:06:21
things um unfortunately uh the path that
00:06:24
I chose wasn't really you know
00:06:27
acceptable I look back at it and was
00:06:29
quite outrageous I did a home invasion
00:06:32
arm robbery on some drug dealers and
00:06:34
took their drugs and their money and um
00:06:36
yeah we got roll into that somehow so
00:06:38
that this is when you're in Australia
00:06:40
that's correct yeah yeah what what sort
00:06:42
of age uh 20 yeah okay so um yeah yeah
00:06:48
okay home invasions yeah okay so you
00:06:49
just um was it you and a couple of mates
00:06:51
in Aussie or uh yep yep yep a few few
00:06:54
really good um mates that helped me out
00:06:56
and um you know I got a mom there that I
00:06:58
call Mom because took me in off the
00:07:00
streets I was homeless for 2 years by
00:07:02
choice um yeah into the party life um
00:07:06
ecstasy and
00:07:07
whatnot um cocaine and heroin um heroine
00:07:11
more mainly when I was in prison yeah
00:07:14
probably just just to numb your brain
00:07:16
and pass the time more or less yeah
00:07:18
absolutely okay well well I feel like to
00:07:20
understand um like where you are now and
00:07:23
what you've been through um yeah we we
00:07:25
planning need to go all the way back but
00:07:27
first of all who is who is um who is
00:07:28
kayin Morris
00:07:30
like I know you're I know you're a
00:07:31
husband and a father you you end up here
00:07:33
with your wife wife partner partner
00:07:35
partner um and she by the way sorry for
00:07:39
my terminology here but but she she's
00:07:41
not on camera so I'm just going to say
00:07:43
for anyone that's watching this or
00:07:44
listening to this she she just looks um
00:07:47
an Ecom as normal yeah like just a just
00:07:50
a world if you saw a new world of pack
00:07:53
and save you wouldn't even you wouldn't
00:07:54
even look twice she's she's she's she's
00:07:56
just um an attractive uh woman in her
00:07:58
late 20s or 30s with a with a PR and a
00:08:01
7mon old baby absolutely yeah I met her
00:08:04
on Oxford Street when I was
00:08:06
17 she's
00:08:09
okay when you said to her you know what
00:08:11
I'm going to join a gang why isn't she
00:08:12
like Caleb don't be don't be so [ __ ]
00:08:14
stupid she did okay she did absolutely
00:08:16
she did and um uh my family um well my
00:08:21
uncle and she asked him why and all this
00:08:24
sort of stuff and then we don't get told
00:08:27
what to do I don't get told what to do
00:08:29
you know every individual is their own
00:08:31
their own selves you know so I can't be
00:08:33
held responsible for somebody else's
00:08:35
actions you know what I mean I'm only
00:08:37
held accountable for my own
00:08:39
actions what was your upbringing like so
00:08:42
you you were you were born and raised in
00:08:43
New Zealand New Zealand I'm from Central
00:08:46
U Mount Ros school all over the place
00:08:48
Mount Eden went to mounted normal um I
00:08:50
feel like I was raised quite normally um
00:08:54
had a stepdad uh and I think the
00:08:58
domestic violence and all that sort of
00:09:00
stuff was you know having to I don't
00:09:04
know like grow up and living in fear
00:09:07
that's how I felt my childhood was you
00:09:09
know very suppressed um going to church
00:09:12
up the road there at um eggs I think
00:09:14
it's Orland gramar girls right U we went
00:09:16
there and um I went to Dorth so you know
00:09:20
I've
00:09:22
been this is my dog hello hello he's
00:09:26
cool this is can okay yeah okay so um
00:09:31
okay so it was um what you'd call I
00:09:33
guess a stereotypical upbringing yeah
00:09:36
I'd say so yeah and um I was booted out
00:09:38
of um Dorth at 13 um I used to question
00:09:42
you know Father Brown there was a bit of
00:09:43
pedophilia stuff going on around there
00:09:45
and I used to pick on a a boy that was
00:09:49
that was in in that Circle and I you
00:09:51
know like I feel really bad and when all
00:09:54
the stuff came out as well I I jumped on
00:09:56
my bike at a super bike ailia and put a
00:09:59
spray can in my backpack went and Tagg
00:10:01
the fence and you know I said protect
00:10:03
the boys and why you protecting Father
00:10:05
Brown more or less you know and I got
00:10:07
expelled because of all the scenario
00:10:09
they put me up in a room for 9 hours you
00:10:11
know where they used to do all this sort
00:10:13
of stuff to my mates yeah and because I
00:10:17
didn't abide by that they they they
00:10:20
kicked me out at 13 so I went to my
00:10:22
Rosell grammar after
00:10:23
that and um we gradually get into
00:10:27
another scenario where
00:10:30
um I think crystal methamphetamine was
00:10:33
um introduced maybe in '99 2000s and
00:10:35
that was around that period where my
00:10:37
family got involved in that sort of
00:10:40
mishap and then it was quite
00:10:41
dysfunctional so I went to
00:10:45
Australia what about your you mentioned
00:10:47
you had a stepdad um your biological dad
00:10:49
you do you have a relationship with him
00:10:51
or do you know him um he's like my bro
00:10:53
yeah yeah yeah he's a good man but um
00:10:55
yeah he never really had much to do with
00:10:57
my upbringing sort of thing but I would
00:10:59
go see him maybe once a year during the
00:11:02
um holidays and go and visit him and my
00:11:04
sisters and brothers over there yeah so
00:11:07
we when when you look back from where
00:11:08
you are now as a as a um a dad of two do
00:11:12
you do you think that shaped shaped in a
00:11:15
way absolutely yeah absolutely I like I
00:11:18
I love and adore my children and I do
00:11:20
everything that Poss like everything
00:11:22
that I possibly can to um give them
00:11:25
everything that I never had and that's
00:11:27
that's what I'm trying to do and what
00:11:29
about your um your connection to your
00:11:31
roots or your multiculture was there any
00:11:32
of that growing up or no not really no
00:11:35
my mom's um yeah she's white so uh kind
00:11:39
of like bouncing that way my grandmother
00:11:42
is from otara um manua back then and uh
00:11:47
she would always come pick me up and
00:11:49
every time she would try and teach me or
00:11:50
I think I was maybe 10 or 13 and she
00:11:54
wanted to cut my for skin off so I ran
00:11:57
away well like what CCIS you what by the
00:12:01
way I never asked question I never asked
00:12:03
what happened to your penis but that's
00:12:04
what I mean I I I generally I just ran
00:12:06
away just ran away you
00:12:10
know like [ __ ] I'm out of here J was
00:12:13
guy born out of there say at what age I
00:12:16
think it was 10 or 10 yeah or 13 maybe
00:12:19
10 or on religious grounds or well yeah
00:12:22
when you cut your foreskin off and that
00:12:23
culture you um become a
00:12:25
man yeah I don't want my dick
00:12:31
yeah I'd rather keep that please yeah
00:12:33
holds back in your house you know what I
00:12:34
mean it goes hard it suits out tell I I
00:12:37
got circumcised at Birth and I didn't
00:12:38
walk didn't walk for a
00:12:43
year okay so um yeah so when you reflect
00:12:46
on your your
00:12:47
upbringing like what do you think about
00:12:49
it like you you know you you sort of
00:12:52
resentful about it or are you okay with
00:12:55
it I'm okay with it yes um when I did
00:12:57
get supported I went to islands and he
00:12:59
was living over there my stepfather and
00:13:02
I just made peace with him yeah pretty
00:13:05
much just said to him you know oh you
00:13:07
know I'm a man now I'll smash it over
00:13:09
don't appreciate everything that you
00:13:11
know we went through as a child and um
00:13:13
he apologized and I accepted it so it's
00:13:16
good to get that behind me that's good
00:13:18
you mentioned domestic violence was you
00:13:19
you stepped out a bit of you know no
00:13:21
good a big man yeah he was a big man I
00:13:24
mean I mean freaking hell it came to my
00:13:27
attention when I think I think I was 32
00:13:30
and if I had five children myself I
00:13:33
think I'd be pretty much the same but
00:13:35
you know what I mean like to an extent
00:13:37
hey so yeah you you seem you seem very
00:13:41
um compassionate and understanding about
00:13:43
about these sort of things like you
00:13:45
there doesn't seem to be like a much of
00:13:46
a chip on your shoulder about it about
00:13:48
the cards you've been dealt yeah well
00:13:49
like you know if you think about it too
00:13:51
much it's only going to weigh on you and
00:13:52
drag you down hey you know I'm not I'm
00:13:54
not about that I'm just about just
00:13:56
moving
00:13:57
forward you know you drop a it smashes
00:14:00
just pick it up and get a new one just
00:14:03
do what you got to do yeah so so how old
00:14:05
were you when you when you moved to
00:14:07
Australia oh gosh and why 28 I think 28
00:14:11
okay yeah I was deported um so deported
00:14:14
from NZ no oh sorry oh oh you no held
00:14:17
when year when you moved to Australia
00:14:18
why did you end up in Australia I think
00:14:20
I was 16 I think who did you move there
00:14:22
with um my birtha oh yeah yeah so went
00:14:25
there with my birtha but as I've been
00:14:27
going there since I was you know a
00:14:30
kid um i' got my mates and I got my
00:14:33
cousins and whatnot and then he decided
00:14:35
to move to Brisbane but I wanted to stay
00:14:37
with my friends in the syney and that's
00:14:39
how I became homeless because nobody
00:14:41
wanted to look after me or deal with me
00:14:43
so I just roamed around kind of like you
00:14:45
call it couch surfing so I just went and
00:14:47
stayed on people's my Bros couches and
00:14:50
and stuff like that until one of their
00:14:52
mothers took me in and her name is Larry
00:14:55
I love her yeah so so were you were you
00:14:59
sort of sent to Australia from New
00:15:01
Zealand because it was to get away from
00:15:03
the PE yes okay yeah yeah so there's
00:15:05
like nobody really knew what the
00:15:06
consequences were like the like or the
00:15:09
aftermath of you know the substance
00:15:12
abuse nobody really knew well we didn't
00:15:14
know until you know maybe a year two
00:15:17
years down the track and everything just
00:15:18
started
00:15:19
spiraling um what what what did it give
00:15:21
you initially what do you mean yeah yeah
00:15:25
the um the P did it give you like was it
00:15:27
an escape or
00:15:29
um at that age no I think at that age I
00:15:33
we'll just you know probably drink a
00:15:35
bottle of Jim Beam go for a walk down
00:15:36
Queen Street and then have our dad come
00:15:38
pick us
00:15:39
up yeah so just we didn't even really
00:15:42
know didn't know just not not
00:15:45
overthinking things so okay so you so
00:15:47
you moved to Australia then then what
00:15:50
are you in school there or you start
00:15:51
working straight away a school yeah
00:15:53
failed school c three times um and then
00:15:59
they failed me in Australia I went to
00:16:00
cogra and that was the third time I
00:16:02
failed but then um because I was going I
00:16:05
they sent me to PCYC Rockdale and I had
00:16:08
to do my um homework next to a police
00:16:12
officer and I didn't really I didn't
00:16:14
really enjoy that I didn't really like
00:16:15
that so I picked up a little bit of a
00:16:17
fussy and that was at the costa zoo Jim
00:16:19
um hardcore and yeah I didn't really
00:16:22
like that so I went back into the tap
00:16:24
and I had a little bit of a winge to my
00:16:25
teacher but they kind of knew my
00:16:27
upbringing they knew my scenarios and
00:16:29
whatnot so they just gave me my um
00:16:31
School certificate just to get you out
00:16:33
of there you go your certificate I got
00:16:35
it to 3
00:16:37
months why why was why were you being
00:16:39
sort of monitored by a police officer uh
00:16:41
had you been in trouble at that i' been
00:16:43
in trouble there yeah I ended up dealing
00:16:45
with um two Lebanese boys um their
00:16:48
Lebanese brother older um he's doing
00:16:50
time over there for murder now um but I
00:16:53
had run with him I went to go buy a gun
00:16:55
off him for $800 and he ended up robbing
00:16:57
me with a gun oh yeah
00:16:59
so so so it seemed like um I mean yeah
00:17:02
you can you can leave the country and go
00:17:04
somewhere else but it's like um the
00:17:06
person you are it's going to it's going
00:17:08
to it's going to go with you you can't
00:17:09
you can't outrun yourself so seems like
00:17:11
wherever you went you going to you going
00:17:13
to find the trouble
00:17:14
crowd well I'm going to find my people
00:17:18
yeah not not necessarily the trouble
00:17:20
crowd I hate drama I hate trouble but I
00:17:23
do know my people
00:17:25
M but you to buy you buy a gun off the
00:17:28
sky then
00:17:30
most people listen to people went into
00:17:32
jail when we seen each other in jail
00:17:34
like hey bro hey bro stays on now stays
00:17:37
on the you know what happens on outside
00:17:38
stays on the out side yeah so you don't
00:17:40
you know we lived on the same street
00:17:42
right in hille so um what what did you
00:17:44
want to G for I just wanted one right
00:17:47
yeah I don't know I don't I really don't
00:17:49
know why so you're how old at this point
00:17:50
still in your teens uh yeah maybe 17
00:17:55
yeah yeah cuz I mean a a lot of
00:17:59
teenagers I think guys in particular
00:18:01
make make poor decisions I I don't think
00:18:04
there's part of our brain that I don't
00:18:05
think we just don't [ __ ] think bro
00:18:07
yeah but that's that's next level though
00:18:09
yeah it is it is next level yeah I mean
00:18:12
like my my best friend we just selling a
00:18:14
bit of pot and then we started selling a
00:18:16
bit of ecstasy um helped out these
00:18:20
people and uh they were giving us
00:18:22
ecstasy pills at $4 each so in the town
00:18:25
that was a $60 $90 pill so you can
00:18:28
imagine how much money it will be making
00:18:31
then so is that what What attracted you
00:18:33
towards that sort of thing just the sort
00:18:35
of the Easy Money exactly yeah we like
00:18:39
to buy nice shoes and be able to you
00:18:41
know go out and drink and have
00:18:44
fun but um It's Not What It Seems though
00:18:48
to be honest you know it's hard work
00:18:50
really is and back then when I was over
00:18:53
in Sydney we had our day clubs so the
00:18:56
the nightclub scene just started on a
00:18:58
Friday do end until Monday so but they
00:19:00
don't have that anymore right they got
00:19:02
the lock out and whatnot I'm 2005 that
00:19:06
happens yeah um what was the oh King's
00:19:08
cross the party area that's it's dead
00:19:10
now all the all the pubs and G that
00:19:12
absolutely so so you're just you're
00:19:14
going all we can because you're just um
00:19:15
you're high on whatever you can get your
00:19:17
hands on not necessarily yeah we would
00:19:19
be high we would be drunk but I would
00:19:21
also be slanging as well at the holiday
00:19:23
in King's cross yeah I'll be staying
00:19:26
yeah we'll go and hire out hotel room
00:19:28
and um probably have about 1,500 pills
00:19:29
with us try and sell $200 200 packs and
00:19:33
right just to get by right so you you
00:19:35
must have been on um the um the radar of
00:19:38
the Aussie police at this point he no no
00:19:40
no no that that scene back then is way
00:19:42
too way too Fierce Al so so you 1500
00:19:46
pills you're a small fry just a little
00:19:48
boy
00:19:49
yeah so when so when did the police
00:19:52
start taking taking notice of you when
00:19:53
did that start happening in Australia
00:19:55
well when I did that stupid that stupid
00:19:57
crime yeah yeah when I did that um I
00:20:00
didn't know there was two females in the
00:20:01
house and there was and there was the
00:20:03
girlfriends of two um drug dealers that
00:20:05
lived at the house and uh yeah things
00:20:08
went a bit too far and and whatnot but
00:20:11
yeah not towards the woman but of course
00:20:13
I terrorized them I did Apologize in
00:20:16
court and I did my time for that I got
00:20:19
out for a year and on the year on the
00:20:20
day that I got out I reoffended I went
00:20:23
out that night in canala went out to a
00:20:25
bar and um mistaken identity by two
00:20:28
bounces and one put me in the headlock
00:20:30
the other one smacked me over I went
00:20:32
outside has me drunk take it off my
00:20:34
jeans everyone's like what the [ __ ] you
00:20:36
doing and I was like oh I need to take
00:20:37
my jeans off so I can kick them in the
00:20:38
head and that's what happened and went
00:20:41
did another two years four months
00:20:43
because of that right and then after
00:20:45
that I got deported the first time I we
00:20:48
I filled out the characters test M and I
00:20:50
passed that and I I was okay to stay the
00:20:54
second time round I wasn't but the
00:20:56
second time round is they solidified uh
00:20:59
um a ruling where they had to deport us
00:21:02
and I believe that it was kind of done
00:21:05
because there was uh nine refugees boats
00:21:07
coming in hundreds of people on them
00:21:09
every day nine boats coming every day so
00:21:11
I believe they put that law in place
00:21:13
where they can send them back to their
00:21:14
own country yeah because they couldn't
00:21:16
before that yeah the 501 thing we'll get
00:21:19
into um all of that shortly and and what
00:21:22
it means exactly um first of all let
00:21:25
just go going back a little bit so the
00:21:27
the the home invasion what your sentence
00:21:29
for that uh 6 years and I served four
00:21:32
years so six years on the top so there's
00:21:34
a 2-year pral period and a 4 years Ser
00:21:37
uh serve prison time for yeah [ __ ] can
00:21:40
you imagine how terrifying that is like
00:21:42
seeing you and a couple of others you
00:21:43
know I was just I was 75 kilos
00:21:46
bro I walked in there the first thing I
00:21:49
said I was almost getting into a fight I
00:21:51
didn't really like that yeah but um yeah
00:21:54
I was 21 75 kilos um going into a big
00:21:58
world
00:21:59
full of proper criminals yeah so then
00:22:01
when when you find out what your
00:22:03
sentence is um what's what's running
00:22:05
through your mind at that point well is
00:22:09
it I think after the first year you you
00:22:11
just you come to terms that you can't go
00:22:13
to McDonald's and go get a Big Mac you
00:22:16
just then after that year then you start
00:22:18
to um accept it within that first year I
00:22:21
just couldn't accept it I didn't know
00:22:22
what was going on I didn't want to
00:22:24
accept it you know so so like are you
00:22:27
are you like you mad at yourself
00:22:28
forgetting yourself in the situation or
00:22:30
or is there a perceived Injustice that
00:22:32
the you the police or the courts had it
00:22:34
in for you or no not not at all um the
00:22:37
system over there is um pretty good
00:22:39
awesome I think uh they kind of look
00:22:41
after the youth and they kind of look
00:22:43
after people like in my scenario where
00:22:45
my upbringing was always getting into
00:22:47
trouble so my sentence I know but my
00:22:50
sentence was kind of like reduced on
00:22:52
that on on those um I don't know what
00:22:54
you call it statistics oh that sort of
00:22:56
like the um they do a thing here in New
00:22:57
Zealand called Cal reports no is that no
00:23:00
no no it's not they don't really have
00:23:02
the system over here is totally
00:23:04
different over there over there they
00:23:06
know that there's you know mate there's
00:23:08
junkies everywhere like the upgrade
00:23:10
bringing for you
00:23:12
know us young and over there um it's a
00:23:14
little lot different yeah but okay so
00:23:18
how do you do how do you do four years
00:23:20
incarcerated and then like a you know
00:23:22
shely that's a lot of time a lot of
00:23:24
thinking time you know a lot of time to
00:23:27
do some soul searching so how do you how
00:23:29
do you [ __ ] it up again on the first day
00:23:31
out oh no after the I was a whole year
00:23:34
oh okay a whole year later year so I
00:23:37
stayed sober I stayed sober for about 6
00:23:40
months and then after that started
00:23:42
getting into the cocaine and then going
00:23:44
back out again um drinking and cocaine
00:23:47
and
00:23:48
ecstasy uh and then yeah uh doing
00:23:52
construction work at the same time I got
00:23:55
given a job when I got out of prison so
00:23:56
that was good and and um I just stayed
00:23:59
at the gym and just smashed it out more
00:24:01
or less got up to like 120 kilos and
00:24:05
yeah I guess uh the alcohol just doesn't
00:24:08
really agree with me too much yeah and
00:24:11
it must be must be when you've had a
00:24:13
taste of um I don't know I was going to
00:24:17
say the good life but that's probably
00:24:18
not the right the right phrasing but
00:24:20
when you've had a taste of easy money I
00:24:21
guess of like you know huge makeup on
00:24:24
ecstasy pills it's got to be hard to go
00:24:25
and do construction and get 30 bucks an
00:24:27
hour or something yeah yeah yeah I but
00:24:30
you know in a drug dealing world you
00:24:32
build you know connections
00:24:35
and I guess um that wasn't really me to
00:24:38
be
00:24:39
honest um because when I did get out I
00:24:43
really stayed on track and I I was going
00:24:45
to work every day you know waking up at
00:24:47
5:00 in the morning and going to hit
00:24:49
some steel on some slabs
00:24:51
and yeah I guess I just had to kind of
00:24:54
like man up but then you know clearly
00:24:57
then I just got sucked into the alcohol
00:24:59
again yeah yeah the alcohol's got a lot
00:25:02
lot to hands for right not for um for a
00:25:05
lot of people as well and all sorts of
00:25:06
walks of life um okay so your partner
00:25:09
who's out here now with your with your
00:25:11
daughter um she's Australian so you guys
00:25:13
meet in Australia yes that's correct did
00:25:15
you meet um like before you before you
00:25:17
got out of after after your
00:25:19
incarceration or before before yeah yeah
00:25:22
so okay so she stuck with you through
00:25:23
that yes yeah yeah
00:25:26
mhm what did she make of all that that
00:25:29
oh she hated me for
00:25:31
it and her mom and her dad yeah but they
00:25:34
love me now so why yeah why did she I
00:25:36
don't know if this is a conversation
00:25:38
you've had with her maybe maybe we need
00:25:39
to get her on for an episode but why why
00:25:41
did she stick with
00:25:42
you did she believe in you is that what
00:25:45
it is or she knew the I actually don't
00:25:47
[ __ ] know why'd you stick with
00:25:50
me I actually don't
00:25:52
know she just yelled at I actually don't
00:25:55
know yeah yeah that's cool that she did
00:25:57
I'm in the must been a lot of from her
00:25:59
side there must been a lot of pressure
00:26:01
like you know just let this guy [ __ ]
00:26:02
rot move on with your life this is your
00:26:04
chance that sort of thing yeah
00:26:08
yeah yeah yeah that um yeah that must be
00:26:13
the hard thing about being incarcerated
00:26:14
if you got a partner on the outside like
00:26:16
you know you have a I don't know how it
00:26:18
works you have all everything I know I'm
00:26:21
basing on once we're warriors um that
00:26:26
Cliff cus movie Dark Horse yeah Son of
00:26:28
Anarchy that's about it and I think
00:26:30
that's that's all any of us know but and
00:26:32
and the jail stuff same thing movies and
00:26:34
TV but I'm guess you have like a visit
00:26:37
once a week or we maybe twice twice a
00:26:39
week or yeah once a week get your visit
00:26:42
um get your you get your phone calls um
00:26:46
I was in uh like the it's called
00:26:48
segregation it's like a pound over here
00:26:50
it's a protection uh so protective
00:26:54
custody why were you why were you I
00:26:55
wasn't over here they it's a segregation
00:26:57
they call protective custody over there
00:27:00
segregation for the naughty ones and I
00:27:01
didn't n months of that so you try and
00:27:03
talk to yourself in the mirror for 9
00:27:04
months it'll be so yes so what does that
00:27:07
mean exactly so you're in a Solo cell
00:27:09
and you like 23 hours a day 23 hours a
00:27:12
day yeah but then you're you're little
00:27:14
yard little 2x4 bloody yard is at the
00:27:17
back door one 5 minute phone call and um
00:27:20
a day and you graduate and steps and you
00:27:24
you know get your radio get your Kettle
00:27:26
get your TV after your third month sort
00:27:27
of thing so oh so good behavior you get
00:27:30
some more little rewards yeah um yeah I
00:27:34
mean a lot of lot of people with you
00:27:35
know the covid lockdowns a lot of people
00:27:37
found that really hard in terms of the
00:27:38
isolation and stuff and yeah um
00:27:40
isolation like that it's a form of
00:27:42
torture in a way isn't it well not me I
00:27:44
was on the road
00:27:45
then but you when you're in um when
00:27:48
you're in your own cell with just
00:27:49
nothing but your own thoughts for 23
00:27:51
hours a day what are you what are you
00:27:52
doing um well I really I really I did
00:27:56
some soul searching to be honest m I
00:27:58
read the Quran I read the Bible and I
00:27:59
read the Dharma and I felt that the uh
00:28:02
Dharma was most fitting for myself and
00:28:04
that's why I've got a swas sticker that
00:28:06
I designed on my stomach yeah and that's
00:28:08
um yeah that represents you know black
00:28:10
and white good and bad five Realms um
00:28:15
yeah three jewels I'm the Jewel and the
00:28:18
Lotus which was my Mantra many P me
00:28:20
home um yeah you do you're well aware of
00:28:23
the um the um con connection between the
00:28:26
SWAT sticker and Nazi Germany though
00:28:28
what what yeah yeah yeah yeah I
00:28:31
am so you know it's a provocative tar oh
00:28:34
yeah I draw a SW stier on the um rugby
00:28:37
ball in the prison yard and had a
00:28:38
Aboriginal Cy lad who the [ __ ] do this
00:28:41
who the [ __ ] did this you know he I did
00:28:44
it you know what I mean but everybody
00:28:46
knew who I was you know yeah yeah yeah
00:28:48
and you know I have some Muslims you
00:28:50
know ask me you know um well who is
00:28:52
Buddha who was Buddha you know m i just
00:28:56
my my theory behind it all is is that um
00:28:58
if there is a God even if there is a God
00:29:01
if I'm morally correct and I'm doing the
00:29:03
right thing I'm sure he's going to
00:29:03
accept
00:29:05
me see you're you're a smart guy like
00:29:08
not really I can't [ __ ]
00:29:10
read no no no but I mean you it seems
00:29:13
like you've made some poor choices but
00:29:15
you you you yeah the you know the thing
00:29:17
dom dom everybody makes poor choices you
00:29:20
know some people are just a lot more
00:29:22
extravagant than the other yeah you
00:29:24
know
00:29:26
um yeah
00:29:30
yeah so when when do you find out you
00:29:33
have you're you're being kicked out of
00:29:34
Australia so so you yeah so you're in
00:29:36
Australia from the age of 16 16ish till
00:29:39
when do you when do you get kicked back
00:29:40
deported back
00:29:41
to it was 10 years I'm 38 now year 28
00:29:45
maybe okay 28 I was I came back here so
00:29:48
you're there 12 years and four years how
00:29:51
two months at the detention center and
00:29:54
that was horrible I watched um I watched
00:29:57
uh yeah it's quite sad actually um one
00:30:00
of the boys in
00:30:02
there and I slipped in his b blood in
00:30:05
the
00:30:07
bathroom and um my cmate gave him the
00:30:10
razor and he's blaming himself and I'm
00:30:13
saying did he look like he needed a
00:30:15
shave and he said yes I said well you
00:30:17
can't blame yourself you gave him the
00:30:19
razor because he looked like a needed a
00:30:20
shave you didn't know he was going to
00:30:23
his own Thro the next one like maybe
00:30:26
about two weeks later um and don't
00:30:28
forget these guys aren't from uh
00:30:31
Australia they're the refugees but they
00:30:33
because like the the guys that can't or
00:30:36
who are naughty in the um Refugee
00:30:38
section get sent to the prison section
00:30:40
cuz there's two different sections okay
00:30:42
so these guys were from the refugee
00:30:44
section and then yeah I'm out on the um
00:30:48
astro turf soccer field having a coffee
00:30:50
and a sigy and
00:30:53
um uh gu is hanging
00:30:56
himself yeah just off uh [ __ ] I don't
00:30:59
know he was hanging himself off
00:31:01
something and then I had to all the
00:31:02
other boys there was a couple of
00:31:04
different units banging and they had gym
00:31:06
time and they banging on the window
00:31:08
banging on the window boom boom boom
00:31:09
boom boom boom boom boom hey hey go help
00:31:11
him go help
00:31:12
him I stood there I'm drinking me coffee
00:31:15
and I didn't help
00:31:17
him I don't know why I just maybe I I
00:31:21
just stared at him you see stared at him
00:31:24
was he still alive at that point he was
00:31:26
wriggling around yes he was hanging
00:31:29
and then um he eventually stopped
00:31:31
wiggling and um a screw came over and
00:31:34
cut him down with one of those little
00:31:35
hook things boom cut him down I watched
00:31:38
this dude change like multiple colors
00:31:41
like 10 times over white purple red
00:31:44
white purple red he just kept changing
00:31:47
color so as he's come to the guy pulls
00:31:50
out a shank and starts chasing after the
00:31:53
screw that's cutting
00:31:55
down the screw ran past me knocked me
00:31:58
and I spilled my coffee
00:31:59
everywhere so he's quite lucky that he
00:32:02
didn't get stabbed and lost his life but
00:32:05
I don't know why I didn't help him yeah
00:32:07
have you thought about that much CU
00:32:08
surely it's um it's it's your instinct
00:32:10
as a human
00:32:12
to yeah why didn't you were you just
00:32:14
like numb immune to it not really I've
00:32:16
had guns pulled on me but I wasn't numb
00:32:18
then either you know I guess I just see
00:32:21
that he wanted that way
00:32:24
up you're not going to stop me if I
00:32:26
wanted to do something so
00:32:31
okay uh when when have you had guns
00:32:33
pointed on you in Australia all right I
00:32:36
oh yeah when you went to buy the gun off
00:32:37
the Lebanese guy that one another time
00:32:40
yeah yeah first time I've seen a desert
00:32:41
eagle was right on my head what's a
00:32:43
desert eagle it's a big [ __ ] gun it's
00:32:45
a 50 k yeah it's a beautiful gun was it
00:32:48
is it beautiful is it a a police gun or
00:32:50
is that a like a it's not a no it's
00:32:53
definitely not a Police Issue yeah what
00:32:55
what's that like I like um yeah do I
00:32:57
mean do you [ __ ] yourself do you or
00:32:59
anything like that oh I tried to diffuse
00:33:01
the situation he wasn't looking for me
00:33:02
thank God he was looking for my brother
00:33:04
that he was in the house and um I just
00:33:07
told him I just you know I camp with the
00:33:09
side of the house and he pulled it out
00:33:11
put it to my head and I said I pretty
00:33:13
much said you not going to shoot me it's
00:33:14
12:00 at lunch time that's what I
00:33:17
said yeah there's
00:33:20
um there's um was a and then I see them
00:33:23
in jail too whatever happens on the
00:33:24
outside
00:33:26
stays no worries are is prison a rough
00:33:29
place like when you get into the fu
00:33:31
[ __ ]
00:33:32
Earth can can you avoid trouble though
00:33:34
or of course again yeah but there's
00:33:37
trouble everywhere you
00:33:39
know
00:33:40
yeah so oh you mentioned um at the
00:33:43
beginning you got a bit of heroin and in
00:33:45
jail here so so so you just like um you
00:33:48
have it on tin foil and smoke it like
00:33:50
spotting like spotting oil yeah chase
00:33:52
the dragons put the heat to the um foil
00:33:55
the heroin starts running away and
00:33:57
that's why he chase a drag
00:33:59
and have a DI after that but you just
00:34:02
never hear about heroin anymore it feels
00:34:03
like it's a drug from the 70s or ' 80s
00:34:05
yeah yeah what what was um yeah I
00:34:09
suppose at that point if you're
00:34:10
incarcerated for 4 years you just try
00:34:12
anything that's handed to you pretty
00:34:14
much yeah I guess you just you I was
00:34:16
like lost you know I was so lost I don't
00:34:19
know where I was going I didn't know
00:34:21
what I was going to be I but you had you
00:34:24
had your girl on the outside yeah you
00:34:26
you still had that support
00:34:28
yeah absolutely I had that support to
00:34:30
support my drug habit ins side more or
00:34:33
less oh I should send you some money and
00:34:36
yeah yeah and then I started taking over
00:34:39
the um trade
00:34:40
inside um real funny story actually oh
00:34:43
like the the drug trade and stu okay
00:34:44
yeah so yeah yeah mobile phones and
00:34:47
whatnot get them in and had this funny
00:34:50
story uh sent out a little I got some
00:34:52
out people that work on outside now do
00:34:54
the ground works and they drew me up a
00:34:56
little map of a golf course that was
00:34:57
next to a prison and um I sent it out to
00:35:00
my bro and he was coming in to bring in
00:35:02
a lader of steroids and some heroin and
00:35:04
some ice and some marijuana and some bu
00:35:07
more fence of box subex and uh SIM cards
00:35:10
and mobile phones so the whole package
00:35:13
um here's me sitting in me cell and uh
00:35:16
my M's going bro where am I going and I
00:35:18
said I gave you the map and I've got the
00:35:19
map sitting in front of me on uh on my
00:35:21
little you know milk cart and bloody uh
00:35:24
coffee table and I'm go it's next to the
00:35:27
trees he go say [ __ ] you can't there's a
00:35:28
bloody 100 trees
00:35:30
here W next to the bunks you know the
00:35:32
bunker and he goes there's a bunkers
00:35:34
there's samps everywhere so but
00:35:35
eventually we've got it in yeah how do
00:35:37
you get it in is it corrupt guards or
00:35:40
not then we don't no we don't have
00:35:42
corrupt guards there it's quite um quite
00:35:44
pretty ruthless over there the guards
00:35:46
are pretty pretty [ __ ] St over there
00:35:48
yeah [ __ ] yeah yeah bro they you'll pun
00:35:50
on with those [ __ ] yeah um unlike here
00:35:54
but um like here yeah um but
00:35:58
they yeah so we just snuck it in through
00:36:00
the tractors the groundw machines and
00:36:03
then eventually we got to wait until it
00:36:04
gets stashed and then eventually comes
00:36:05
into the prison and there you go Heyday
00:36:09
happy days there's going to be um people
00:36:11
listening to this that have you find
00:36:14
will find the way that you speak so blaz
00:36:16
about all this stuff like quite quite
00:36:18
quite alarming in a way but this is but
00:36:20
it is what it is I'm not going to sit
00:36:22
here and lie to you you know I'm not
00:36:24
going to bend the truth or anything like
00:36:25
that this what it's done it's done
00:36:28
already nobody got killed nobody you
00:36:30
know I'm still here I got a beautiful
00:36:32
family you know yeah I'm
00:36:35
okay you're your partner she could have
00:36:37
she could have picked a much easier oh
00:36:39
yeah guy to settle down with she must
00:36:43
really like you yeah well everything
00:36:45
happens for a reason hey and I believe
00:36:47
that I've got two beautiful children
00:36:49
where I can write my wrongs through so
00:36:51
that's how I see things and how's um
00:36:53
how's your mental health now and how how
00:36:55
has it been when you've been
00:36:56
incarcerated like you've seen some [ __ ]
00:36:58
yeah I mean you just got to deal with it
00:37:01
I suppose you know yeah you just got to
00:37:03
deal with it
00:37:05
um my mental health is not the best
00:37:10
right now because of what I've been
00:37:12
going through in the past two months and
00:37:14
well past 3
00:37:15
years um it's not the best but I'm still
00:37:18
coping I still I Still Know What to Do
00:37:21
you know what I mean and some days I
00:37:22
just go on flight mode and just get the
00:37:25
job done cuz if we don't get the job
00:37:27
done done you're not going to pay your
00:37:28
rent you're not going to pay your
00:37:30
bills yeah yeah there's there's a quote
00:37:32
I saw from um just some dumb thing on
00:37:34
Instagram from K heart and he was like
00:37:36
uh you know you can be depressed and you
00:37:38
can lie in bed all day but you know the
00:37:40
sun's going to come up and the sun's
00:37:41
going to go down without you whether
00:37:42
you're there or not so you may as well
00:37:44
just get up and do it is that what you
00:37:45
mean by flight mode just getting through
00:37:47
the day on autopilot exactly yeah yeah
00:37:50
okay so
00:37:51
um so were you one of the sort of first
00:37:54
wave of the the group that we know as
00:37:56
501s were you one of the early ones
00:37:59
quite quite early yeah yeah you can you
00:38:02
can I yeah there there's been so much
00:38:05
reported about this but you you can you
00:38:07
can sort of see why the Australian
00:38:08
government wanted you to be someone
00:38:10
else's problem right absolutely yeah
00:38:13
over there as a teenager you ranom mark
00:38:15
caused a lot of trouble yeah um there's
00:38:17
a lot of people and it sounds like
00:38:18
they're harder done by than what you are
00:38:20
but yeah so so you you're one of the how
00:38:22
many 501s are there in New Zealand I
00:38:24
couldn't say but I I would I would say
00:38:26
there's a lot yeah yeah I mean I go
00:38:28
downtown you know when I'm going to um
00:38:31
the white lady 11:00 at night and I'll
00:38:33
probably see 10 501s sitting at a bus
00:38:35
stop how do you how do you know how do
00:38:37
you know the 501s I'm that guy I'm the
00:38:39
guy I'll go say hello I was there once
00:38:42
so you know I'll pull over maybe I might
00:38:44
have a joints in my pocket might have a
00:38:46
cigarette and I'll go and join them have
00:38:49
a
00:38:49
yarn and just what what what's your
00:38:52
what's the reason for doing that just to
00:38:54
just see how they going yeah yeah I was
00:38:56
someone to debt for me
00:38:58
because what happens so you get sent
00:39:00
sent to New Zealand and a lot lot of
00:39:01
these guys are they may have been born
00:39:03
in New Zealand but they moved a lot of
00:39:04
them moved over there as babies right so
00:39:05
they've actually got no no sort of like
00:39:07
roots in New Zealand no roots no help no
00:39:10
nothing um we get sent here on the
00:39:14
condition with
00:39:15
$500 um I didn't get
00:39:17
$500 but you got to go here you they say
00:39:20
oh you go to prisoner Aid and prisoners
00:39:21
Aid will help you out to I took me about
00:39:25
6 months just to get a bank account and
00:39:27
and um if that lady is watching thank
00:39:29
you very much because that was the only
00:39:30
way that I could get my ID so I couldn't
00:39:33
I was a missing person for about 6
00:39:35
months I was a missing person I hassled
00:39:37
this lady at A&Z Meadow Bank remu er
00:39:39
every freaking week every week please
00:39:42
can I have a bank account please and she
00:39:44
got so sick of me she gave me the
00:39:46
[ __ ] bank account no
00:39:48
[ __ ] you're watching or you're listening
00:39:50
lady thank you yeah oh that's what what
00:39:52
bank Azz yes REM oh that's really kind
00:39:57
was a act of kindness or you you just
00:39:58
think you wor I you just got sick of me
00:40:00
I wore her down I'm I'm that guy yeah
00:40:02
I'll wear you down till I get what I
00:40:04
want so yeah so so you get back to New
00:40:06
you land in New Zealand then what so are
00:40:09
you are you flowing here on like under
00:40:11
police guard or anything yeah yeah yeah
00:40:13
so I wasn't really my brother my best
00:40:17
friend one of my best hom yes that's
00:40:19
correct and he it was a street fight and
00:40:21
he he got killed with a machete to the
00:40:23
head that's a CO yes yeah so that
00:40:26
happens and I was on the phone before he
00:40:29
ran up that driveway to him and my
00:40:31
family on that night talking to him D
00:40:33
cuz I was at the um uh Detention Center
00:40:36
so we were allowed mobile phones talking
00:40:38
to him and D I love you cuz can't wait
00:40:41
to see you speak to my brother speak to
00:40:43
my sister speak to my other cousins and
00:40:44
family and then off you ws and then that
00:40:46
happened it was quite a surreal I don't
00:40:49
know it was quite out of it I felt like
00:40:51
it was like his Spirit went into me
00:40:54
because I held all my [ __ ] together my
00:40:56
whole family was destroyed the [ __ ]
00:40:57
train wreck and here's me trying to talk
00:41:00
to them and try and calm them down
00:41:01
because everyone's screaming in the
00:41:02
background and Howling and whatnot I
00:41:05
felt like he came into my body and I
00:41:07
felt like he spoke through me it's it's
00:41:10
I know this is a bit out there and I
00:41:12
know I've smoked heroin and
00:41:16
whatnot you know but I I honestly felt
00:41:19
like he he came into me and he spoke to
00:41:21
my family through me because that I
00:41:23
didn't know how I was coping it wasn't
00:41:26
until the next morning 9:00 I crashed on
00:41:28
the [ __ ] flooor and just sobbed you
00:41:31
know and then I got up I went and seen
00:41:33
the screws and I said you need to get me
00:41:34
on the next
00:41:35
plane they didn't really know what was
00:41:38
going on so I punched um the guy who was
00:41:40
closest to me punched him over and I
00:41:42
said get me on the plane now the guy
00:41:44
closest to you is in another one of the
00:41:46
um one of the inmates yeah inmates okay
00:41:48
yeah right so so they they got they get
00:41:51
you out of there then you just fly back
00:41:53
on like an in New Zealand or Quant yeah
00:41:55
I got a um someone to bring me in some Z
00:41:57
cuz I wasn't coping yeah so I just had
00:41:59
the Xanax on the flight um I had four
00:42:03
four security travel with me to New
00:42:05
Zealand four four people just for you
00:42:08
four screws yeah um so yeah had bang
00:42:12
bang bang bang sitting next to me gave
00:42:14
me a glass of water I was on Xanax so I
00:42:16
fell asleep straight away uh got to New
00:42:19
Zealand woke up with same cup of water
00:42:20
in my hands um came through the airport
00:42:24
the biggest [ __ ] Islanders
00:42:25
coming approach me at the airport take
00:42:28
me to a back room and try and get some
00:42:30
info out of me I told him suck my dick
00:42:32
and I'll tell you everything you need to
00:42:33
know like what sort of info what do you
00:42:35
mean I don't know yeah it's all to do
00:42:37
with um this but you you went in the
00:42:39
head hunters at that point you just had
00:42:41
family that that were okay and then when
00:42:43
I got out from the airport had my
00:42:44
grandmother my brothers and sisters my
00:42:46
mother had everybody there waiting for
00:42:48
me so that was nice okay so so you one
00:42:51
of the lucky ones then so you had some
00:42:52
sort of family support yes yes I was
00:42:54
very very very lucky very lucky so and
00:42:57
after that I got picked up they picked
00:42:58
me up we went for a feed out to um uh
00:43:01
Mount Albert some noodle house over
00:43:03
there Noodle House in Mount Albert and
00:43:05
then they dropped me off from clubhouse
00:43:07
out east and I got drunk there with my
00:43:11
family and I H his body in the coffin I
00:43:15
remember trying to pull the blanket off
00:43:17
his coffin and looked up and was trying
00:43:19
to steal his blanket I sorry cuz gave
00:43:22
her back and then him carried his body
00:43:24
into the Hearst that morning and then
00:43:26
that's when I felt like my life went to
00:43:28
share and he got to better his life and
00:43:30
he just became such a big impact for a
00:43:32
lot of people especially our family
00:43:35
because he was just a solid rock and
00:43:37
because he made that change he was
00:43:39
making other people make that change too
00:43:40
and just you know just on a real
00:43:42
positive note you know I'll be in my
00:43:44
Dale cell in prison U messaging him on
00:43:47
Facebook I got a Dale Facebook account
00:43:49
somewhere there and um you know he
00:43:51
always just kept kept is is he sort of
00:43:53
considered like inspirational at the
00:43:55
time because he had been through
00:43:57
you know a drug addiction Journey or
00:43:59
whatever and had cleaned himself up yeah
00:44:02
guess we all try and encourage each
00:44:03
other yeah we all do we all we all you
00:44:06
know that's what brothers are for you
00:44:08
try and pick your brother up and just
00:44:09
try and encourage them to do or L yeah
00:44:12
have a job have a license and um have a
00:44:15
motorcycle right it's the MC motorcycle
00:44:18
club at the end of the day and that's my
00:44:20
like people go oh it's like dude I love
00:44:24
bikes I [ __ ] love bikes you know
00:44:27
remember sitting on Fat Boys when I was
00:44:28
a kid and see a h Angel driving around
00:44:31
and sitting You' be like [ __ ] and now
00:44:32
look you you'll think he was a mythical
00:44:34
bloody unicorn you know what I mean you
00:44:37
know that's how we were it was very rare
00:44:39
back then to see uh um uh on the on the
00:44:43
surface that seem seems very Noble like
00:44:44
to be a member all you need is um a job
00:44:47
no no it's just being responsible you
00:44:50
know what I mean like it's it's all
00:44:52
becoming a made man more or less mhm so
00:44:54
like you got those three little simple
00:44:56
things you're a made man you can go
00:44:58
wherever you want you can do what you
00:44:59
can because you you've got a job you
00:45:01
know you got your license so you're
00:45:02
legitimate on legitimate on the road but
00:45:05
and and the the members like do you do
00:45:07
you you know are you discouraged from
00:45:10
like using using class A drugs or are
00:45:14
you are you tested or or no is it sort
00:45:16
of like personal choice and
00:45:17
responsibility everybody gets tested
00:45:18
wherever they go
00:45:21
yeah right but if if it's found out like
00:45:24
you you know you're using meth like do
00:45:26
you get told off by by someone in the
00:45:28
hierarchy in the
00:45:30
gang well I'll tellar you off yeah yeah
00:45:32
yeah um but yeah okay so you're trying
00:45:36
to look look out for each other and keep
00:45:37
each other good absolutely [ __ ] you you
00:45:40
always got you have got to have your
00:45:41
brothers back yeah you know I just don't
00:45:43
see it it's like you could be on a rugby
00:45:44
team and someone's falling off the rails
00:45:46
you know you're going to pick them up
00:45:48
you going to tell them hey bro what are
00:45:49
you doing stop it you know what I mean
00:45:51
like this is not good for you you know
00:45:52
that too it's not good for your family
00:45:54
it's not good for anybody so yeah I you
00:45:57
know I'm 38 years old 39 in September so
00:46:00
this is this is this is I'll speak for
00:46:02
myself and this is what I want to
00:46:04
achieve I want everyone to be great you
00:46:07
know in what way my whole family was
00:46:09
[ __ ] my whole family so here's me with
00:46:13
no money here's me with a family that's
00:46:15
all
00:46:16
broken and here's me not knowing what to
00:46:18
[ __ ]
00:46:19
do I'm in no power with anything I you
00:46:24
know I I just I I I actually had no no
00:46:27
idea what to do um you know like having
00:46:30
to ask my younger brother if I could
00:46:32
live with him you know um and then I had
00:46:35
an Auntie and Uncle that took me in and
00:46:37
I stayed at Meadow
00:46:38
Bank
00:46:40
um uh but yeah I
00:46:47
guess yeah and then I guess my little
00:46:51
brother was smoking myth at the time and
00:46:53
I just jumped on that little bandwagon
00:46:54
and he kind of just Coop up and see a
00:46:56
little bed room and just do whatever the
00:46:59
[ __ ] you're doing you know I I go to
00:47:01
drawing I I like to draw so I will draw
00:47:04
and and do stuff yeah it was a real hard
00:47:08
space um had no job and then I met this
00:47:12
guy and he was in installing um
00:47:14
installation shitty job in the roof and
00:47:17
under the floor mhm so I started doing
00:47:19
that and then one day I got sick of what
00:47:22
I was doing and then that's when I chose
00:47:24
to change my life around and start
00:47:26
training cuz I already done it before so
00:47:29
I'll do it again and that's what helped
00:47:31
me in prison was the training and and
00:47:33
you know just discipline and structure
00:47:37
yeah being in a routine I suppose so
00:47:39
then I just ran there I ran there every
00:47:41
morning woke up ran there oh sorry after
00:47:43
work ran there ran there ran there and
00:47:45
did all the boxing classes and then all
00:47:47
of a sudden I'm having a fight at the
00:47:49
end of the year and then that's how I
00:47:51
got to reap My Rewards was to be just
00:47:55
doing the right thing to be honest
00:47:57
yeah yeah and oh but you did end up in
00:48:00
trouble trouble back here right yeah yes
00:48:02
I did um so when oh yeah this is this
00:48:05
was a police raid in October 2020 yes um
00:48:08
there were some gun charges yes that's
00:48:10
correct I had two um pistols um under
00:48:14
floorboards so I didn't have access to
00:48:17
them I had to break my floorboards to
00:48:18
get the pistols but just because of my
00:48:21
own paranoia um and uh you know a little
00:48:24
bit of a Family Feud I had those
00:48:26
protection as my family had um some
00:48:29
people Rock up to their house and I had
00:48:31
those in my closet yes but before this
00:48:35
this was October 2020 no charges in New
00:48:37
Zealand before that no so you've done
00:48:39
some dodgy [ __ ] but you just never been
00:48:41
so so at this point so this was October
00:48:43
2020 um had your partner moved back she
00:48:46
was in a she was she was at the house
00:48:48
then yeah was quite
00:48:49
taunting so you were quite daing how do
00:48:52
you mean well [ __ ] something Gave Me
00:48:54
a Reason like something I had this
00:48:56
feeling
00:48:57
um yeah I had this feeling and I we the
00:49:00
white teer bush white te Rangers right
00:49:02
off our back deck you know
00:49:04
so yeah I thought maybe I should go hide
00:49:07
these in the bush for some strange
00:49:08
reason and then you know I've always got
00:49:10
that six sense about me and uh yeah
00:49:13
before I knew I had uh yeah had the task
00:49:16
force running down the side of my house
00:49:18
and then they walked all the month
00:49:20
through my house and but yeah task force
00:49:23
isn't oh like armed Defenders Squad sort
00:49:25
of thing yeah I believe IB back then
00:49:27
right it wasn't Cobalt Cobalt Cobalt
00:49:29
hasn't um wasn't formed then what's
00:49:32
what's Cobalt Cobalt is the yeah the
00:49:34
criminal task force Okay and like how
00:49:37
many how many how many people at least
00:49:40
20 right and and they they're not
00:49:42
knocking on the door they uh there was a
00:49:45
boom boom boom boom yeah yeah we
00:49:48
shouting and yelling yeah I answered the
00:49:51
door yeah I didn't think anything was
00:49:53
going on I didn't well cuz I knew I'd
00:49:56
done nothing wrong but what I did do is
00:49:58
I went I broke my finger so I took my
00:50:02
gun that gun and I did some target
00:50:04
practice in the bush to see if my bloody
00:50:06
hand still worked and The Recoil wasn't
00:50:09
doing the best job with my breaken
00:50:10
finger and I posted that up on my
00:50:13
Instagram um and that was the um the
00:50:17
aftermath right yeah so um what's that
00:50:21
like for your partner like when when
00:50:23
there's there's police coming through
00:50:24
your house and it's just I don't know
00:50:28
must be terrifying just the intensity of
00:50:30
it yeah yep they turn your place upside
00:50:32
down or they quite respectful with
00:50:33
things or they no no no no no definitely
00:50:38
not it's SM place it's kind of like they
00:50:42
um that they they they don't want you to
00:50:45
be part of this lifestyle so they're
00:50:47
making it look as unattractive as what
00:50:48
they can yes absolutely yeah and they
00:50:50
make your life real real hard yeah yep Y
00:50:53
and they get paid they get paid to do it
00:50:55
you know what I mean so you can't blame
00:50:56
them but when it gets a little bit
00:50:58
personal you know you got to kind of
00:51:01
stand your ground and say enough's
00:51:02
enough bro like [ __ ] yeah just cut it
00:51:05
out yeah okay so then you get taken away
00:51:08
and you're um just four months in jail 4
00:51:12
months in jail on remind and then home
00:51:13
detention is that right I actually can't
00:51:16
remember remember yeah yeah I I'm
00:51:18
getting this from some um just a Google
00:51:20
Search and some Court reports but there
00:51:22
was
00:51:23
um uh in January 2022 so this the the
00:51:26
police grade in the guns that was
00:51:27
October 2020 in January 2022 so like a
00:51:31
15 16 months later um glowing report
00:51:34
from the judge yes like the um yeah it
00:51:36
was uh basically you know strong
00:51:40
Commendation for turning your life
00:51:41
around and the W well I was in the
00:51:43
process of doing all that you know what
00:51:46
I mean yeah um during Co um I got the
00:51:49
key to my business on the day of the
00:51:53
lockdown so that's why I said I was
00:51:54
traveling around on Co because here's me
00:51:57
going [ __ ] hell I got the shop rent
00:51:59
to make and I want to get my shop steady
00:52:01
and ready and and I did all that during
00:52:03
Co and I just snuck down there and
00:52:05
closed the gate and painted the walls
00:52:07
and did what I had to do to to make ends
00:52:10
meet you know put my hands on my own
00:52:12
pocket and um yeah I remember work off I
00:52:17
was working for um a mate of mine doing
00:52:20
construction and because I had a a
00:52:22
construction background from Australia I
00:52:24
brought that here and I was running the
00:52:26
plans and whatnot and I remember over
00:52:28
here you guys you know all your
00:52:30
construction workers are pretty tough
00:52:31
because you work in the rain over in
00:52:33
Australia we don't work in the rain
00:52:35
bro here's we digging a bloody hole and
00:52:38
the water's just going back I'm flicking
00:52:39
this water out the water's going back
00:52:41
inside I turn to my mate and I was like
00:52:43
[ __ ] this bro I'm going to do something
00:52:45
you know I'm going to do something else
00:52:46
he goes what are you going to do until
00:52:48
this day he goes [ __ ] I'm proud of you
00:52:49
bro I'm so proud of you he goes I
00:52:52
remember that time when you said that
00:52:53
you're going to do that and you [ __ ]
00:52:54
did it and you [ __ ] look at you now
00:52:56
yeah so your business is like a a bike
00:52:58
shop you sell and repair motorbikes um
00:53:01
yeah just uh repair repair uh servicing
00:53:03
it I was I didn't know what to do so
00:53:06
then my cousin over in Australia said
00:53:08
how about you do this there's guys over
00:53:10
here making big big big money for
00:53:12
detailing bikes so here's me I utilized
00:53:15
that because I'm an MC I um utilized
00:53:18
that and started cleaning the boys'
00:53:19
bikes and that's how I well yeah I mean
00:53:21
there's going to be um no doubt a lot of
00:53:24
cynical people I'm doing the right thing
00:53:25
you know me listening or listening to
00:53:27
this or watching this they'll go uh he
00:53:29
must be like washing money or it must be
00:53:32
Stolen Bikes or a chop shop or whatever
00:53:34
absolutely I get it all the time bro I
00:53:37
get it all the time you know the thing
00:53:39
is like I you know what's a funny thing
00:53:41
right I could sit at home all week and I
00:53:43
can eat noodles and save up for a nice
00:53:45
dinner at Saar does that make sense you
00:53:47
know what I mean yeah and that's what I
00:53:49
do people don't see the struggles that
00:53:51
we my partner and I went through sitting
00:53:53
there eating outy she'll be sitting at
00:53:55
one end of the table is me sitting at
00:53:57
the other we cracking up because we know
00:53:59
exactly what we're doing you know what I
00:54:00
mean yeah yeah yeah and um yeah like I'm
00:54:05
trying to get myself on the on my feet
00:54:07
and try and establish something and my
00:54:09
cousin's going [ __ ] bro you're doing it
00:54:10
well and then I'm Googling you know J
00:54:13
car power lock and all this sort of
00:54:14
stuff all the best stuff to use and get
00:54:16
the best buffers rups [ __ ] they like
00:54:18
$1,600 each $116,000 for my B van paid
00:54:22
cash for that odaho and I just worked my
00:54:25
way worked my way work my way until I
00:54:27
got the van and then I started picking
00:54:28
on the bike shops Cru up to the bike
00:54:30
shops hey yo I'm going to was these
00:54:32
bikes like hey what are you doing I'm
00:54:34
going to make some money so so when you
00:54:36
say you paid 16,000 cash for your van
00:54:38
like um like a w a w of cash yep all the
00:54:40
cash that I saved up from cleaning the
00:54:41
bikes yeah you understand how dodgy that
00:54:44
looks yeah but then again that rule
00:54:46
didn't apply back then yeah or the money
00:54:48
laundering rle yeah but the but you got
00:54:51
that money through washing bikes right
00:54:54
yeah right I could I could
00:54:56
$500 to wash their bike okay take me
00:54:59
about 5 hours yeah I'll pick it up yeah
00:55:02
so so they paying cash and but you know
00:55:04
this is what I mean the boys are going
00:55:05
to help me out and Yeah and um try and
00:55:09
you know get me established I I didn't
00:55:11
yeah I don't think I had a bank account
00:55:13
in so and it's it's just not your job or
00:55:16
your place to ask how they got that
00:55:18
money I don't care it's only $500 I got
00:55:21
$500 in my pocket now you know but um
00:55:24
and saying that it's yeah that's none of
00:55:27
my business but now it is you know if
00:55:30
I'm accepting $3,000 cash you know I got
00:55:33
my CES and whatnot um when I started my
00:55:37
business and they going oh all the cash
00:55:38
Fones can you explain all this I was
00:55:40
like dude we've got a cash nesting like
00:55:42
we're allowed to have this cash nesting
00:55:43
this is my business you know what I mean
00:55:45
yeah so we got to do what we got to do
00:55:46
and make ends me right so but we still
00:55:49
pay our taxes and we still do everything
00:55:51
and all my paperwork's legit so yeah
00:55:54
yeah that's now and as a learning
00:55:55
process hey guess what I paid $330,000
00:55:58
for the first 2 years in GST M does you
00:56:01
know what I mean like nobody taught me
00:56:03
how to do that now GST now the tax man's
00:56:05
paying me $1,000 you know what I mean so
00:56:08
here's me paying 200 2 I remember paying
00:56:10
2,800 U um uh uh every two months for
00:56:13
the GST bills I was like freaking hell
00:56:16
what a what a waste of money because I
00:56:17
didn't know how
00:56:19
to you know you must be um do you feel
00:56:22
proud of yourself when you're like
00:56:23
learning all these little business
00:56:24
things AB when people say how did do it
00:56:26
you know my answer I don't know I just
00:56:28
[ __ ] did it as simple as that how'd
00:56:31
you do this I just did it you just got
00:56:33
to do it and you learn it on the way
00:56:35
yeah I pay $30,000 GST like you know
00:56:38
what I mean that could have all been
00:56:39
mine because the the you know I'm
00:56:42
generating um 700 M $700,000 just on a
00:56:46
little shop out west wow oh good for you
00:56:49
good for you what's your relationship
00:56:51
like with the police nowadays [ __ ] yeah
00:56:53
they [ __ ] hate me they really hate me
00:56:55
is is is this um just you or is this
00:56:58
just like gang members in anyone that's
00:57:00
got a patch gang members in general but
00:57:01
then it's just becoming like it's really
00:57:04
become a
00:57:06
personal yeah I slander them on social
00:57:10
media and this has been going on for a
00:57:13
couple years now and about 3 years ago
00:57:15
they just going [ __ ] just stop just stop
00:57:18
so then I stopped but then they come
00:57:19
smack me over again so then I start up
00:57:21
again what do you mean they smack you
00:57:22
over again like just just do dum Shir
00:57:25
right yeah yeah like pull you over just
00:57:27
keep you on a real short leash raid my
00:57:29
house for driving offenses right I mean
00:57:31
come on when was the last time your
00:57:32
house was raided last
00:57:35
month last month my whole family got uh
00:57:37
pepper sprayed my partner's mom was over
00:57:40
from
00:57:41
Australia um I got a seven-month old
00:57:44
baby you know she could have died from
00:57:45
the pepper spray they pepper sprayed my
00:57:47
dog I got a band dog a big uh master of
00:57:49
pit bull I got a French Bulldog the
00:57:51
whole house was uh pepper sprayed and I
00:57:54
had surrendered myself already
00:57:57
um you know but the peasantry of
00:57:59
everything is just beyond me um
00:58:03
de how they get their their Intel is
00:58:06
just incorrect um so if I'm posting up a
00:58:09
video of Uncle lingling a MK man driving
00:58:12
around on the beach on my device and
00:58:14
post it up on my on my social media how
00:58:17
the [ __ ] is that me I'm not going to
00:58:18
give my bro to [ __ ] have around play
00:58:20
with my Ig or play with my personal
00:58:22
belongings like it just doesn't I don't
00:58:23
I don't roll like that yeah so uncle
00:58:25
lingling that it's like um an Instagram
00:58:27
account you've got it's like a character
00:58:28
you do sort of dressed like the Joker
00:58:31
yeah yeah yeah it's a clown dictator's
00:58:33
mask right right so um oh okay so the
00:58:37
the when the police raided your house
00:58:38
last month like what did they so they
00:58:40
they they take you into the station for
00:58:41
questioning or Y and then what tell to
00:58:45
get [ __ ] yeah but what do they find in
00:58:47
your house is there like a like a bag of
00:58:49
weed like a St ofh unprescribed weed
00:58:53
okay yeah unprescribed weed and uh I I
00:58:56
don't have much cash probably like
00:58:59
$7,000 everything is legit I'm not rich
00:59:02
I may look rich I drive rich cars but
00:59:05
they all financed you know I just do
00:59:07
everything right so what I like to drive
00:59:09
a l car so what I I want to feel good I
00:59:12
never been I've never felt good my whole
00:59:14
life yeah so if I'm allowed to like if I
00:59:17
have the opportunity to make myself feel
00:59:18
good and buy a fresh pair of shoes I'm
00:59:20
going to do so you know and I take great
00:59:23
pride in myself you know I probably I've
00:59:25
own this t-shirt for since since Connor
00:59:29
died which was 10 years old you know
00:59:31
what does it say what does it say in the
00:59:32
front well it's
00:59:34
just a yeah rest easy Conor so all the
00:59:39
members wore this and I wasn't a member
00:59:42
so but when I became a member one of my
00:59:44
close mates U one of my close brothers
00:59:46
gave me the T-shirt you know because he
00:59:48
felt that it was fing more fitting for
00:59:51
myself so yeah I I I I'm good at
00:59:55
recycling clothes M so I so I know you
00:59:58
know family for you it's a it's a
01:00:01
Brotherhood thing but the path of least
01:00:03
resistance would be just to just to hand
01:00:06
you know hand your patch in and then
01:00:08
that's that's that's when they win yeah
01:00:10
I'm a fighter mate I'm a warrior you
01:00:12
know yeah but what about your family my
01:00:14
family is
01:00:15
fine but that's what I mean that's why I
01:00:17
want to bring up this like the peasantry
01:00:20
of okay fair enough if I was selling
01:00:22
drugs fair enough if I was um uh running
01:00:25
out running a mck and causing some
01:00:27
violence on um and some bystanders um
01:00:30
I'm not um I get raided because we um I
01:00:34
my mate had a Canam and I I like I like
01:00:37
things with motors so I really I babe
01:00:40
bro can I take that Canam on the beach
01:00:42
please he goes yeah bro of course here's
01:00:44
me thinking I'm doing nothing wrong take
01:00:47
it out onto the beach and then my my my
01:00:49
uncle you know my Bros are driving us
01:00:51
around on the bloody thing and then
01:00:52
here's me getting raided because I don't
01:00:54
have a driver's license but I wasn't
01:00:55
driving
01:00:57
you know somebody else driving do do you
01:01:00
have it worse than some of the other
01:01:02
Head Hunters members do you think I
01:01:03
believe so because I'm a smartass right
01:01:06
but I'm you're you're antagonized
01:01:08
there's a a thing on um your Instagram
01:01:10
page uh look looks like you were pulled
01:01:11
over a couple of weeks ago by um some
01:01:13
young um Asian cop um I wasn't pulled
01:01:17
over yeah see the thing is that Cafe
01:01:19
there is the one where they all go so
01:01:22
everybody that raids my house and kicks
01:01:23
over my door and you know like beats me
01:01:26
up you know they literally beat me up
01:01:28
I've been knocked out by them and
01:01:29
everything so I went to their Cafe and
01:01:33
that's why they picked on me this guy
01:01:34
comes out of nowhere parked me in and
01:01:37
then started being a
01:01:39
dick a zero is a
01:01:42
zero with a line in it you know an O was
01:01:45
an O it's really not that hard oh in
01:01:48
terms of the number plate you had
01:01:49
exactly just just come correct and I
01:01:51
won't be a dick if you want to be a dick
01:01:53
I'm going to give you a dick do you know
01:01:54
what I mean like sorry but I I'm I'm I'm
01:01:57
a strong believer in standing my ground
01:01:59
and if you're being a [ __ ] dick I'll
01:02:01
give you a dick back yeah okay now
01:02:03
that's fair
01:02:05
enough and not only that maybe when I go
01:02:08
to court I can use that as a bargaining
01:02:09
tool I can take it down you know have
01:02:12
you got a court case coming out got
01:02:14
heaps of court cases I've got like 20
01:02:16
charges what for driving oh right right
01:02:19
they won leave me alone right okay so
01:02:21
they're just trying to get you on I got
01:02:22
I got done for being um a disqualified
01:02:24
driver and I'm getting done for evading
01:02:28
police and driving a motor vehicle on a
01:02:31
scooter do you know how many lime
01:02:32
scooters there are on the road there's a
01:02:35
million in you know how any kids are
01:02:36
like cruising around on Lime scooters
01:02:39
yeah not kayin I get arrested throw in
01:02:41
jail get my house rated and um deal with
01:02:43
the consequences but guess what you guys
01:02:45
are paying for it or you guys that think
01:02:47
that you guys are legitimate citizens or
01:02:49
whatnot or whatever I consider myself as
01:02:52
a legitimate citizen I just got a patch
01:02:54
on my back I do everything right I do do
01:02:55
everything by the book
01:02:58
but you don't see their houses getting
01:03:00
raided and kicked over and get thrown
01:03:02
and bean up and whatnot because um yeah
01:03:05
they're riding around on a lime scooter
01:03:07
but that's what happened with
01:03:08
me because there um there been a lot of
01:03:11
like reports in the media CU there been
01:03:14
recently been a change of government so
01:03:15
we've had labor for six years and now
01:03:17
it's National and there was talk that
01:03:18
labor was too soft on gangs that was a
01:03:20
big uh sort of media thing um in your
01:03:23
impression has there been a change since
01:03:25
uh the government changed or and from
01:03:27
your perspective has has it always been
01:03:29
started when labor was in okay that
01:03:31
Cobalt started when labor was in um
01:03:34
lux's just making making himself look
01:03:36
cool um but in all honesty bro why how
01:03:41
about we Target and how about we look
01:03:43
after our youth and give them the
01:03:45
resources and the and the tools that
01:03:47
they need to not become so aggressive
01:03:50
towards police like myself you know my
01:03:53
son's supposed to like look up to these
01:03:55
guys
01:03:56
so I got my license back last
01:03:58
week my son goes to his mom Mom I don't
01:04:02
want to be raided again so then Mom told
01:04:05
me and I talk had to S sit down with my
01:04:08
son I said Son we're not going to get
01:04:10
raided again cuz if we do the right
01:04:12
thing they won't come he goes okay Daddy
01:04:16
how how's your son he's he's coming on
01:04:18
to
01:04:19
six how's this the next morning I take
01:04:22
my son to school two detectives that
01:04:25
hate me
01:04:26
um pull me over where the hell did you
01:04:29
come from you know what I mean pulled me
01:04:31
over and I I I ducked into a serice
01:04:33
station that's what I do because I feel
01:04:35
like I need a camera on me at all times
01:04:37
for my protection so I pulled into the
01:04:40
disease station they pull up behind me I
01:04:42
said bro I've got my I've got my kid in
01:04:45
the car I'm dropping him off the school
01:04:47
I go what's what's going on he goes have
01:04:49
you got your license I said yes I do
01:04:51
pulled out my license gave it to
01:04:53
him I said y all good got my license
01:04:59
back okay I'm leaving we all good he
01:05:02
goes no we're not I said am I under
01:05:05
arrest he said no you're not I said okay
01:05:07
well I'm leaving he goes if you leave
01:05:09
kayin I'm going to arrest you I said bro
01:05:11
just let me [ __ ] take my kid to
01:05:13
school and then do whatever the [ __ ] you
01:05:15
want I mean like what's your [ __ ]
01:05:16
problem bro 15 minutes he held me there
01:05:19
for because legally they're allowed to
01:05:21
hold you for 15 minutes but he held me
01:05:23
there for 15 minutes my son had the
01:05:25
worst two days of his life at school
01:05:28
those days my son has a teacher's aid
01:05:30
also you know what I mean so he's the
01:05:32
only one in his class that has a lady
01:05:34
standing next to him 24/7 at school
01:05:37
because of all of this was because
01:05:40
behavioral issues or is he he had
01:05:42
behavioral he had behavioral issues but
01:05:44
now he's just doing he's he's doing an
01:05:46
amazing job he's growing so much but
01:05:48
then boom this is like that there was
01:05:50
like all this hard work that we put into
01:05:52
him and he got him into soccer and
01:05:54
everything and whatnot and he's just you
01:05:57
know he's like blooming but that happens
01:05:59
and that's a massive setback so now I'm
01:06:01
having to deal with him as he is now
01:06:03
just everything's gone aggressive and he
01:06:05
hates everybody goes mute you know um
01:06:08
and here's me trying to do the right
01:06:10
thing and Olivia you know my partners
01:06:12
telling me [ __ ] I was like bro like they
01:06:15
should have known as well like just give
01:06:17
me the common
01:06:20
courtesy if you are suspecting me on
01:06:22
driving on a beach um illegally and
01:06:26
don't forget it's just a misdemeanor
01:06:28
like the maximum sentence I could get is
01:06:31
uh community service go pick up some
01:06:33
rubbish off the ground I do that anyhows
01:06:37
but how about come and knock on my door
01:06:40
how about knock on my door I'll give you
01:06:42
the keys why do you have to C cause tens
01:06:44
of thousands of dollars worth of damage
01:06:46
soaring my bloody fences down you know I
01:06:49
got big steel Gates they got storing it
01:06:51
down took all my cameras took all my
01:06:53
stuff like iPads i' I'm trying to I've
01:06:57
started a new business West Coast
01:06:58
Imports I'm going to be importing cars
01:07:01
and bikes bikes uh bikes mainly to fix
01:07:03
up and get them on the streets over here
01:07:06
and um and I'll be making good profit
01:07:09
there and um and another uh clothing
01:07:11
line called a a the label you know from
01:07:14
from where I want and I suppose uncle
01:07:16
lingling is just he's that guy that I
01:07:19
want to be but I can't because legally
01:07:21
you can't be that guy yeah you can't be
01:07:22
a troublemaker you know what I mean a
01:07:24
[ __ ] SE sh exactly so that's you know I
01:07:27
found Uncle lingling M my son found it
01:07:29
at the Avendale markets we go treasure
01:07:31
hunting that's our thing every Sunday
01:07:33
morning go to aend market and go
01:07:35
treasure hunting and then we got the
01:07:37
parliament walking down and the police
01:07:39
being bullies and bullying us over we
01:07:40
got another IG video of that too me
01:07:42
screaming at um the prime minister of
01:07:44
New Zealand because they want to come
01:07:46
over there when it suits them yeah you
01:07:48
know so when so when this when things
01:07:50
are happening like the police um pulling
01:07:52
you over on your way to on your your way
01:07:54
to the school drop off like what what
01:07:55
are you wearing I I um I asked you to
01:07:57
wear the patch today um I yeah what do
01:08:00
you normally wear it or do you only wear
01:08:03
it for like I used to wear all my stuff
01:08:05
like on a daily basis because that's
01:08:07
just how every day we just wore it we we
01:08:10
I never we never get any hate I never
01:08:12
get any hate you know if you hate me
01:08:14
people just keep to themselves some
01:08:16
people say hello but I yeah but majority
01:08:19
of the time because I got the business I
01:08:21
try not to wear my stuff but then now
01:08:24
because I got this hate love
01:08:25
relationship with um with the police
01:08:28
it's kind of like seems like it's a hate
01:08:29
haate relationship yeah yeah yeah well
01:08:31
they love me and hate me because they're
01:08:33
trying to get me they trying to get to
01:08:34
bed with me like you know what I mean
01:08:36
[ __ ] now it's just gone real personal
01:08:39
it really really has you know what I
01:08:41
mean and I I just I want it I want it
01:08:43
all to stop come after me if I'm doing
01:08:46
something wrong not not trying to not
01:08:49
not you know borrowing some bloody toys
01:08:51
from my brothers to drive around my kids
01:08:53
in cuz that's all that happen
01:08:56
yeah and I I listen I get all that and I
01:08:57
know it's I know it's a matter of
01:08:59
principle and I I can understand that
01:09:01
and I can understand how infuriating it'
01:09:02
be but wouldn't it be easier for you
01:09:05
your partner and your kids just to just
01:09:08
to tow the [ __ ]
01:09:11
line you know what I
01:09:13
mean not an
01:09:17
option oh God it's okay you're committed
01:09:21
the going on there okay yeah but it's
01:09:24
like I you know like being in a rugby
01:09:27
club I'm in an MC I'm in in a motorcycle
01:09:30
club there's no difference there's no
01:09:32
difference you got good and bad people
01:09:33
everywhere bro honestly you know oh
01:09:37
listen I'm I'm aware of that that's
01:09:38
something I was thinking about today
01:09:40
there um I mean there's there's plenty
01:09:42
of people that masquerade as good people
01:09:44
that are doing like atrocious things one
01:09:46
person that comes to mind um this is
01:09:48
real old school but a guy called um
01:09:49
Graham Capel who was the leader of the
01:09:51
Christian Heritage party he used to be
01:09:53
on TV all the time like telling people
01:09:55
off moral things turns out he was he's a
01:09:58
pedophile and he did did a lot of time
01:10:00
so then there's people like you who who
01:10:03
beat up pedophiles yeah beat up
01:10:05
pedophiles we used to have we used to
01:10:07
have these good screws right and um the
01:10:09
pedophiles and that will be in a
01:10:11
different section and the rapist and
01:10:12
whatnot and then the screw will come up
01:10:14
to me [ __ ] the doors open the door's
01:10:18
open so so you got to run through the
01:10:20
office one door two doors there's two
01:10:22
doors and we go for hell Mary they don't
01:10:24
like a me um no but I suppose the point
01:10:26
I was saying by using this guy grae C
01:10:28
from the Christian Heritage party as an
01:10:29
example is like he's a guy that put on
01:10:31
the front of a upstanding member of the
01:10:34
community look at that [ __ ] man like
01:10:37
come on bro you know what I mean and
01:10:38
it's still [ __ ] happening and the
01:10:40
government still lets it happen get
01:10:41
[ __ ] hey bro like come on go after
01:10:44
those [ __ ] go after those people
01:10:46
ruining people's lives we don't ruin
01:10:48
people's lives we uplift people get into
01:10:52
the gym get off the drugs you know what
01:10:54
I mean get a job get a get a bike
01:10:56
license get a motorcycle so you can ride
01:10:58
around with your brothers you know what
01:10:59
I mean yeah and go have a bloody nice
01:11:01
meal somewhere and have a bear and have
01:11:02
a yarn and catch up for the week and
01:11:04
that's all we do that's all I do hey B
01:11:07
how's it going how are you bro big hug
01:11:09
big you know big cuddle and and and we
01:11:11
how about we go get some dinner I don't
01:11:13
know what the [ __ ] my bro is doing we've
01:11:15
all got our own different lives you know
01:11:17
but nobody tells me what to do you you
01:11:20
go over there you go sell some drugs you
01:11:21
go over there you go beat them up you go
01:11:23
over there and do this MH glor B does
01:11:26
that yeah you know what I mean that's a
01:11:28
[Music]
01:11:30
crime yeah should should members of the
01:11:33
public be um be be fearful of gang
01:11:36
members so if you if you're if you walk
01:11:38
down the street and there's like group
01:11:39
of three four five guys with patches on
01:11:42
you know should you turn the other way
01:11:44
should you cross the road no it's
01:11:46
probably best to just say hi mhm yeah
01:11:48
just be high that way they're going to
01:11:50
say high back yeah you know that's how I
01:11:52
feel well that's how I feel in Orland
01:11:54
anyhow
01:11:56
I get a lot of love I get a lot of
01:11:57
respect out where I live heaps of
01:12:00
respect everybody loves well everybody
01:12:01
but a majority of my neighbors love me
01:12:03
every you know I look after who I can
01:12:06
and I do I do right by everybody you
01:12:08
know what I mean like I I I have this
01:12:10
things like if I'm righteous then I'm
01:12:13
righteous so if you're being a dick and
01:12:15
you [ __ ] up or you do something wrong
01:12:17
maybe I might take your watch off
01:12:19
you you know what I mean like not even
01:12:22
wearing a watch
01:12:24
today yeah you know what I mean you
01:12:25
would have to take it off me I would
01:12:27
give you my watch I'm not I'm not out
01:12:29
here to be a bully or terrorize the
01:12:31
public and whatnot and then like even
01:12:33
with the police I stay out of their way
01:12:34
but they always get in my
01:12:36
way yeah is that sort of yeah I mean I
01:12:40
know you're this is just your story and
01:12:42
you don't want to speak on behalf of the
01:12:43
gang but like is the gang discouraged
01:12:46
from you're just [ __ ] with members of
01:12:48
the
01:12:49
public I I we don't I don't yeah this I
01:12:53
don't even know how to answer that we
01:12:55
don't even roll like that of course
01:12:57
we're a bit outrageous on our
01:12:58
motorcycles and weave between traffic
01:13:01
but I mean if you just stay in your lane
01:13:02
I'm pretty sure you're going to be okay
01:13:05
yeah yeah yeah CU there's um there's
01:13:07
been um like some stuff in the media the
01:13:09
last couple of years when there's um
01:13:10
like a gang member um gets killed or
01:13:13
dies and there's a funeral and all the
01:13:15
gangs sort of get together first of all
01:13:17
what's that about I thought you all
01:13:18
hated each other I think in those and
01:13:21
circumstances it's like kind of Tu away
01:13:24
just show respect it's just like a Tru I
01:13:26
I you know there's people that we don't
01:13:28
get along with and this and that
01:13:29
everybody does everybody has that but at
01:13:32
the same time you're going to have
01:13:33
somebody who's um one of your Bros and
01:13:36
they're going to have a family member
01:13:38
over there does that make you know you
01:13:40
know what I mean like so in some sense
01:13:43
like yeah your beef is your beef if
01:13:45
you've got a [ __ ] problem get
01:13:47
upstairs punch it out and get over it
01:13:49
shake hands and [ __ ] off what why can't
01:13:51
there be like a permanent truce between
01:13:53
the gangs wouldn't it be easier if
01:13:54
you're like hey we're all we're all in
01:13:56
gangs we all like motorbikes I would I
01:13:58
would like it to be that way yeah so who
01:14:01
are all of us sticking together and and
01:14:02
telling the police to [ __ ] off cuz I'm
01:14:04
pretty sure we
01:14:06
could I'm even though I was into
01:14:09
Australia and whatnot I'm very patriotic
01:14:12
I love New Zealand we're so blessed to
01:14:14
be here we're so lucky to have you know
01:14:16
have this but I've seen it I've seen us
01:14:19
growing up in this this this time and
01:14:21
then 5 years ago it was not a big
01:14:24
problem
01:14:26
5 years later to be um doing a burnout
01:14:30
is the worst crime you could do like I'm
01:14:32
just like wow you're going to kick my
01:14:34
Doran over that pepper spray my dog oh
01:14:36
don't worry the pepper spray doesn't
01:14:38
affect
01:14:39
dogs my dogs dribling everywhere bro my
01:14:42
dog's dying yeah it's a [ __ ] dog
01:14:47
mate
01:14:49
M and guess what and then here's me one
01:14:52
of them kicked my dog he went flying my
01:14:53
French Bulldog went flying flying and
01:14:55
all I said you kicked my [ __ ] dog
01:14:57
hunt so then I got my head pushed down
01:15:00
one officer comes in from the side boom
01:15:02
knocks me
01:15:03
out [ __ ] that I got scars on my
01:15:05
[ __ ] forehead from him what the
01:15:07
[ __ ] that but you know what I mean I
01:15:09
keep my mouth shut I like I just keep my
01:15:11
mouth shut cuz it is what it is M you
01:15:14
know what I mean I'm not going to go
01:15:15
running and snitching on the [ __ ]
01:15:17
police and this and that ra but it's
01:15:18
coming to a stage now I'm just saying
01:15:20
nah get [ __ ] enough's enough you know
01:15:22
what I mean I hears me trying to [ __ ]
01:15:24
fight the ground or fight them during
01:15:26
through the court system you can't you
01:15:28
can't you go to the PCA or something the
01:15:29
police complaints Authority and I can
01:15:32
yeah yeah yeah I can and that will be
01:15:34
happening but I'm being so suppressed
01:15:36
that I can't even get to that stage so
01:15:39
I'm trying to I'm trying to get all my
01:15:41
court dealings out of the way yeah and
01:15:43
then all these ipca forms will be coming
01:15:45
through okay but then not only that they
01:15:46
keep changing the squad so 6 months
01:15:50
there'll be like a turnover maybe a year
01:15:52
it'll be a turnover so I'm dealing with
01:15:53
this officer I'm dealing with this
01:15:55
Sergeant I'm dealing with this big top
01:15:57
dog and then all of a sudden it changes
01:15:59
so then I've got to introduce myself to
01:16:00
all the top dogs again I what what the
01:16:02
[ __ ] and Hell mate just look at my file
01:16:05
yeah do your job properly you know the
01:16:07
system's not even updated and here's me
01:16:09
getting arrested on the side of the road
01:16:10
leaving all my [ __ ] behind I don't like
01:16:13
you know what I mean and and I go to
01:16:14
jail for me to get out and bail the next
01:16:17
day for what because your system wasn't
01:16:20
updated yeah so they just you guys you
01:16:22
guys want to do [ __ ] like you guys want
01:16:23
us to be correct and all with all this
01:16:25
how about you guys do the same thing so
01:16:27
they're just they're just kind of trying
01:16:28
to poke the beer yeah absolutely and I
01:16:30
mean it's not illegal to post it's not
01:16:33
legal to have freedom of speech like all
01:16:35
that's all legal and that's all I've
01:16:37
done so what I'm passionate about [ __ ]
01:16:39
you for R trying to ruin me I'll I'll
01:16:42
I'll ruin you on social media too and
01:16:45
then these guys are going above their
01:16:46
pay grade and looking at on their own
01:16:48
social media accounts we can see all
01:16:50
that I can see it all we everybody can
01:16:52
see who looks and everybody can see who
01:16:54
is doing this and that and there they
01:16:56
are on their own social media accounts
01:16:59
looking and doing acting above their
01:17:00
lawful
01:17:01
duties and so then we find that out and
01:17:04
we we we exposed him hey look at this
01:17:06
dumb person well because you want to do
01:17:09
this how about we just show everybody
01:17:10
what you're doing oh because you want to
01:17:12
pull me over how about I just show
01:17:14
everybody what you're doing because
01:17:16
right now I'm going to go home when you
01:17:19
lock me up and I get out the next
01:17:20
morning get bail the next morning I'm
01:17:21
still going home after all of this I'm
01:17:24
going to be picking up some rubbish
01:17:26
maybe maybe if they don't drop the
01:17:28
charges maybe I might be picking up some
01:17:30
rubbish for [ __ ] 200
01:17:31
hours good for me I get away get away
01:17:34
from my crazy son crazy son always try
01:17:38
to try to fight me a bloody place soer
01:17:41
with him your um your your partner when
01:17:43
we were chatting just before the podcast
01:17:44
um she she she mentioned um just about
01:17:48
how well um liked you are in your
01:17:50
neighborhood where you live and and that
01:17:53
um but it must then she said that some
01:17:55
of the neighbors bring you meals and
01:17:57
dinners and stuff like that um what do
01:17:59
they think when there's like 10 police
01:18:01
cars in the street and they drop off
01:18:03
care packages straight up they're
01:18:05
dropping off care
01:18:07
packages like we're just normal
01:18:09
civilians local
01:18:11
civilians um trying to do our best I got
01:18:14
a patch on my back that's the only
01:18:16
problem that's the only issue and I just
01:18:18
feel sorry for my family for going
01:18:20
through what they go through all because
01:18:22
of a suspicious driving Act
01:18:26
yeah I mean it's a little bit uncalled
01:18:27
for it's a little bit extreme you know
01:18:30
what I mean like I'm pretty sure police
01:18:31
officer's gone 55k an hour I'm pretty
01:18:34
sure they've gone on the beach I'm
01:18:35
pretty sure they've seen their children
01:18:37
or the or or the or their um their
01:18:39
nephews cruising around on a beach on a
01:18:42
quad or cruising how come they're not
01:18:44
getting their doors kicked down how come
01:18:46
like a child doesn't have a bloody
01:18:49
license you know what I mean yeah I
01:18:51
could go out to the beach where I was at
01:18:53
and I could see
01:18:55
10 people we can go out there right now
01:18:56
there' be 10 people with no license
01:18:58
driving around like there I wasn't
01:18:59
driving though yeah I think I think
01:19:02
there'll be um you know what they still
01:19:03
listening to this there might be two
01:19:05
sorts there be some some people maybe a
01:19:07
small number though that have um like
01:19:09
real sympathy for you and there will be
01:19:11
a a big bunch of people that'll be
01:19:13
pleased to hear the police are making
01:19:14
your life difficult because there is a
01:19:16
perception that the police go easy on
01:19:17
the gangs or scar things I deserve
01:19:20
everything that that I have I deserve
01:19:22
everything that that I that I get
01:19:24
because I worked hard for it I'm sorry
01:19:27
but that's that's that's a them problem
01:19:29
I don't care about what anybody thinks
01:19:30
of me to be honest I stay in my Lane I
01:19:33
go to work I look after my family and I
01:19:35
I ride my bikes with my boys and and
01:19:38
catch up with them yeah I'm not going
01:19:40
out there like causing trouble and and
01:19:42
beating people up and and going out you
01:19:44
know I'm I'm not doing that you know
01:19:46
what I mean you want you just want to
01:19:47
keep your nose clean and you know avoid
01:19:49
go being incarcerated again yeah yeah
01:19:51
yeah absolutely but um we got the police
01:19:54
trying to make it hard and they they
01:19:57
don't want you to they don't want us to
01:19:58
be happy I can tell you I'm very happy
01:20:01
and are you um you I don't I don't know
01:20:03
how yeah I I think you are but I don't
01:20:05
know how you can be happy with this
01:20:07
chaos going on around you like there's
01:20:11
got to beip I'm very happy to an extent
01:20:13
I get a little bit like down and hard on
01:20:15
myself when I do think about what the
01:20:17
consequences it has on my family but at
01:20:20
the same time on the level of peasantry
01:20:22
I will keep fighting that fight
01:20:25
if I if if you know like yeah if I
01:20:28
smacked over your brother or something
01:20:30
then maybe that might be a different
01:20:32
story you know what I mean uh but yeah
01:20:34
I'm not doing that you're not involved
01:20:36
in any violence now and if if you're
01:20:37
subjected to a piss test you're you're
01:20:39
clean you're not taking any CL size yeah
01:20:41
yeah I'll I'll be clean should we do
01:20:44
one no no thanks you can take your your
01:20:48
own away with you
01:20:50
oh yeah no no I'm I'm I'm clean you find
01:20:54
I can and i' I'm legally um allowed to
01:20:57
smoke smoke that um yeah yeah te um have
01:21:01
you been so generous with your time
01:21:02
today it's been really it's been really
01:21:03
cool how how's this been for you is it
01:21:05
okay yeah it's been good yeah I mean I
01:21:08
just yeah it was good to get stuff off
01:21:09
my chest MH um like I said I'm not
01:21:11
trying to broadcast um my life or make
01:21:14
it glamorous or anything like that
01:21:16
because you know it's it's not as
01:21:18
glamorous as people may seem but I I am
01:21:21
just a normal person who's just getting
01:21:23
by by life don't just excuse the gold
01:21:25
chain this is this is going to be my
01:21:27
house deposit one day so you
01:21:30
know I like to do what would your what
01:21:33
would your message be to like any say
01:21:35
you had some nephews nephews or whatever
01:21:37
that were thinking about joining the
01:21:38
gang would you discourage them
01:21:41
or you want to fight hey you want to
01:21:44
fight me no or them yeah right right you
01:21:48
know what I mean cuz that's that's what
01:21:49
you're up against I just got [ __ ] myself
01:21:52
there no that's good here take my watch
01:21:55
it's a g GPS
01:21:58
one so You' sort of discourage them or
01:22:00
yeah absolutely yeah go get a job go get
01:22:03
a job like you you don't yeah this
01:22:08
what's happening right now is not okay M
01:22:10
what's happening right now is not okay
01:22:12
from from what you've explained it's
01:22:14
like um the the bad stuff that the
01:22:18
downside outweighs the good side of
01:22:20
being involved in a gang
01:22:25
you know you get the you get the
01:22:26
Brotherhood things are just changing
01:22:28
like I'm I'm talking about changing in
01:22:30
the past two years three years just it's
01:22:32
just really flipping a a different Leaf
01:22:35
you know it really is especially with
01:22:37
like certain bikes for example you don't
01:22:40
exactly have to be in a gang but if
01:22:41
you're driving riding around on a V-Rod
01:22:43
you know you're going to have some
01:22:44
trouble with the police because they're
01:22:45
going to think that you're in a gang you
01:22:47
know yeah it's that whole stigma behind
01:22:49
it but I would I would I would love
01:22:50
everybody to be on motorcycles cuz then
01:22:52
we could probably get to the city fast
01:22:53
enough
01:22:55
you know cuz every car I seen there's
01:22:56
only one person driving yeah yeah you
01:22:58
know I've got some question I put on
01:23:00
Instagram that um I was speaking to um a
01:23:03
gang member today and uh I had more
01:23:06
questions for you than what I've had for
01:23:07
anyone else so we can whip through these
01:23:09
um some of them you might want to pass
01:23:11
on because you've made it very very
01:23:12
clear this is um your story and you're
01:23:15
not like a representative of um all
01:23:17
gangs or all gang MERS absolutely um and
01:23:20
I feel like a lot of this we've already
01:23:22
covered but we'll run through these
01:23:23
anyway uh why do they like to intimidate
01:23:31
people who
01:23:34
um
01:23:36
I I don't
01:23:39
yeah you don't you don't go out of your
01:23:42
way to intimidate people you people are
01:23:43
just intimidated by yeah i' say so okay
01:23:47
no that's that's that's that's fair me
01:23:49
I'll try and intimidate the police when
01:23:50
they're trying to be intimidating
01:23:51
towards us you know what I mean you know
01:23:53
you know I think these these are just
01:23:55
like members of the just friends of mine
01:23:57
on Instagram I guess um but you you you
01:24:01
guys are intimidating like when you see
01:24:02
some gang members you're like oh you
01:24:04
know you definitely immediately feel
01:24:06
sort of on on edge a little bit I guess
01:24:07
oh yeah I got missing teeth got
01:24:10
Jes intim yeah of course you know what I
01:24:13
mean [ __ ]
01:24:18
you but look I got my legs folded fu
01:24:21
yeah um should the public be scared of
01:24:24
them
01:24:25
no just stay out of the way and let them
01:24:28
do what they want to do you know you
01:24:30
can't don't go policing and shoving your
01:24:33
nose in other people's business you know
01:24:35
cuz like like any other Jo blow you know
01:24:38
what I mean like nobody yeah anyone that
01:24:41
crosses their legs like that is not
01:24:45
intimidating what what are you scared of
01:24:47
someone wants to know what am I scared
01:24:48
of yeah um my son my son um
01:24:57
my son seeing his father being arrested
01:25:00
over nonsense if I want to wear there's
01:25:04
a freedom this is this is like this is a
01:25:07
whole breach of our Bill of Rights a
01:25:09
whole breach of our human rights is you
01:25:11
can't tell me what to wear you know what
01:25:14
I mean you can't tell us you just can't
01:25:17
you can't you can't tell me what to say
01:25:19
you can't tell me how to act but if I'm
01:25:21
not hurting anybody and I'm staying in
01:25:22
my own lane then that's that's that's me
01:25:25
that's us just me you know yeah cuz is
01:25:28
has that patch there's been talking
01:25:29
about a patch band has that come through
01:25:30
like you're not allowed to wear your
01:25:31
patch and public or you are or um I
01:25:34
believe that's coming in right right I
01:25:36
believe that yeah anything yeah or gang
01:25:38
regalia they call it they're going to um
01:25:40
they're going to start taking it but
01:25:42
then what's that what's what's going to
01:25:43
happen there are they going to start
01:25:44
raing houses and and pulling out the
01:25:46
bloody t-shirts that we were wearing
01:25:47
that day and destroying little kids'
01:25:49
lives because majority of us have kids
01:25:51
majority of us have Partners yes
01:25:54
it's kind of you're going going too far
01:25:57
I think everything's going too
01:26:02
far I'm just think think about your son
01:26:04
so he he's he's going to grow up for for
01:26:06
right or for wrong um distrusting the
01:26:09
police hating the police he already does
01:26:11
yeah it sucks he should be looking for
01:26:13
them like as as help you know as as Role
01:26:16
Models I'm as I'm as bigest role model
01:26:20
you
01:26:21
know um how how how do the gangs treat
01:26:24
women
01:26:25
nowadays um pretty respectful I when I
01:26:29
see my Bros oh yeah when I see my Bros
01:26:31
partners and that I don't even like say
01:26:34
hello like
01:26:35
hi you know what I mean yeah yeah
01:26:38
um woman outside I yeah yeah okay um is
01:26:43
it easy to leave the gang if they choose
01:26:45
to y yeah y every year every year
01:26:48
everybody gets off anybody don't want to
01:26:49
be
01:26:51
us you can leave no no hard done by I
01:26:53
still talk to people that have left the
01:26:55
club yeah absolutely because they want
01:26:56
to choose a different um lifestyle I'm
01:26:59
just lucky I got a bike shop and I'm not
01:27:01
I'm not a banker yeah you know yeah so I
01:27:04
can live this lifestyle I can ride
01:27:06
around on my
01:27:07
bike uh percentage wise how many of the
01:27:10
members are in prison or have been to
01:27:12
prison uh quite a lot of us yeah yeah
01:27:15
percentage W be wise will be quite High
01:27:18
yeah I I think so because
01:27:22
um yeah when the prison over here is a
01:27:24
real different K of fish real different
01:27:28
over
01:27:29
here inmates side to a gang in Australia
01:27:34
you side to your race that's why I got
01:27:36
Al around my neck because we have drama
01:27:39
you know having to bloody make bloody
01:27:41
freaking magazine vest pieces and
01:27:43
sharpens some Shanks in the blood not
01:27:45
cool St a few people [ __ ] [ __ ] other
01:27:49
races so it's a race war over there and
01:27:51
there a gang war over here so it's a
01:27:53
little bit different so then you're
01:27:54
going to have more people steering that
01:27:57
way from the system to a Wards again
01:28:00
because the systems run like that so yes
01:28:03
you've only done that small period of
01:28:04
incarceration here for um when they
01:28:07
found the guns in your house so so when
01:28:09
you go to jail are you nervous you're
01:28:10
like oh [ __ ] there's some mang or
01:28:13
there's some killer bees or no they
01:28:15
stred to a black P's unit did they they
01:28:18
and and what and they they right just be
01:28:22
respectful just be a man stand your
01:28:23
ground and you're going to have no drama
01:28:25
you know introduce yourself they
01:28:27
introduce themselves and you know you
01:28:29
can sort your differences out if there
01:28:30
are any Chum in the cell sort it out
01:28:32
lose some teeth you're good to
01:28:34
go is that how you lose some teeth it
01:28:37
seems like a big priz to pay yeah yeah
01:28:40
would you recruit any of your family
01:28:41
members into the gang I think you
01:28:43
answered that
01:28:49
before I I did I brought my little
01:28:51
brother on
01:28:54
but in saying that it changed his life
01:28:56
too for the better now he's a
01:28:58
construction worker now he's got his
01:29:00
license he's got a bike he is doing
01:29:02
amazing man I'm so proud of him I'm so
01:29:06
proud of
01:29:08
him you you're getting emotional just
01:29:10
talking about it actually there's been a
01:29:11
couple of times on this chat I'm very
01:29:13
proud of
01:29:16
yeah when you come from the bottom and
01:29:19
you work your way up that's a massive
01:29:22
achievement from where we come from
01:29:28
absolutely thanks for sharing that it's
01:29:30
cool um what does he see as the future
01:29:34
of gangs in New Zealand who my brother
01:29:36
or me yeah you yeah [ __ ] [ __ ] it's
01:29:40
not looking too
01:29:42
good it's not looking too good
01:29:45
especially for myself I mean like listen
01:29:48
I'll take the [ __ ] videos down if you
01:29:49
just leave me alone yeah you know what I
01:29:51
mean cuz it could be a bargaining tool I
01:29:53
don't know yeah but I don't want to do
01:29:55
all this IG [ __ ] but then I'm losing
01:29:57
money because of it I get paid because
01:29:59
of this I hope you guys know this too I
01:30:01
get paid as well I can I can sign a
01:30:03
contract because of all this stuff you
01:30:05
know what I mean because of me followers
01:30:07
and whatnot and I just got the police is
01:30:09
trying to suppress me and try to run me
01:30:10
down so I can't be achievable you know I
01:30:12
can't achieve the things that I want to
01:30:14
achieve yeah dude I I anything that I do
01:30:18
make especially with my business I've
01:30:20
got one Apprentice um you know got a guy
01:30:24
running it as a prip through the you
01:30:26
know through the MIT or whatever it is
01:30:29
you know I got a um a mechanic there who
01:30:31
has 35 years experience on just on
01:30:34
motorcycles alone he's a bloody wizard
01:30:36
I've had every Bike Shop try and poach
01:30:39
my man you know what I mean um I've got
01:30:41
calt the police officers saying pack
01:30:44
your stuff leave don't come back you
01:30:46
know what I mean like what kind of [ __ ]
01:30:47
is that bro I don't you know what I mean
01:30:49
I didn't go to the cop shop and say uh
01:30:52
pick your [ __ ] and leave you [ __ ]
01:30:53
[ __ ] at your job because you got your
01:30:55
all your Intel is wrong you're accusing
01:30:58
me of driving and it wasn't me you
01:30:59
[ __ ] clown you know I'm sorry
01:31:02
but yeah yeah I can understand your
01:31:05
frustration especially if they never if
01:31:07
they can never like pen you for anything
01:31:09
yeah either you I you're just like a a
01:31:11
criminal mastermind that's really just
01:31:13
come correct come correct hey you know
01:31:15
what if I smacked them over and and the
01:31:17
Polie camea did you punch them over and
01:31:19
I know I'm Fu I'm going yeah I punched
01:31:22
them over you know what I mean like I
01:31:24
will take that responsibility I'll take
01:31:26
it but I'm not going to take anything
01:31:28
that I haven't done no
01:31:31
way um yeah are you an angry dude these
01:31:34
days or are you quite controlled you
01:31:36
seem quite um I'm very very very
01:31:39
controlled because I was looking at the
01:31:40
police officer who's who who pulled us
01:31:43
over in front of my
01:31:45
son and I really wanted to kill him I
01:31:49
really wanted to kill him the only
01:31:50
reason why is because of the
01:31:52
conversations that I had before this
01:31:55
incident was with my son me the guy
01:31:58
standing next to him he's not going to
01:32:00
be able to stop
01:32:01
me you know but there's a fine line you
01:32:05
don't need to be harassing me and
01:32:06
pushing me to think like that why am I
01:32:09
thinking like that why am I getting
01:32:11
harassed that much to be thinking like
01:32:14
that it's not okay and I I know why
01:32:17
they're trying to do it they're trying
01:32:18
to make me [ __ ] up they're trying to
01:32:20
make me lose my [ __ ] but once again I
01:32:23
can't let them win that's just like my
01:32:25
colors they want me to take it off once
01:32:27
again I can't let them win what how how
01:32:29
do you not snap do you like do you count
01:32:31
to 10 do you do you focus on your
01:32:33
breathing well that day I actually tear
01:32:35
my eyes out I stared at them in the eyes
01:32:37
and I had running down my thing yeah
01:32:40
because I was I was holding back I could
01:32:43
I could hit you very very hard if I
01:32:45
really wanted to are tears just from not
01:32:47
blinking or tears of like frustration
01:32:49
tears of frustration he seen it he he R
01:32:52
to play I told him I riers thr out and
01:32:56
he said you know any other officer would
01:32:58
have arrested you I said I understand
01:33:00
that but you know I don't mean it this
01:33:02
is how I feel yeah just
01:33:04
venting um how do they feel when one of
01:33:07
their members is in quarter on the news
01:33:09
for a legal activities who's that um
01:33:12
that's just a question from someone on
01:33:13
Instagram you know the funny thing is I
01:33:15
don't know what people do in their
01:33:16
backgrounds of their lives I I'm so busy
01:33:19
with my own life um and life is busy you
01:33:22
got a seven month you got a six-year-old
01:33:24
I got a soccer I got my baby you know
01:33:28
like uh I'm on 7 to S at the moment as
01:33:32
we speak as well so I got to be home at
01:33:33
7:00 at night to 7:00 in the
01:33:36
morning yeah because of accusations like
01:33:39
just for me to get bail how does that
01:33:42
make
01:33:42
sense like yeah oh now that Chris's
01:33:47
going out there one day yeah
01:33:50
um yeah actually you know what there's
01:33:52
um there's a lot more Instagram but I
01:33:54
feel like it's um we've covered most of
01:33:55
it off yeah
01:33:57
um this has been really insightful I've
01:34:00
really enjoyed it we've been here for
01:34:01
like an hour 40 how's it been for you
01:34:03
has it been cathartic are you angry for
01:34:06
talking about nerve-wracking well
01:34:08
hopefully I didn't say the wrong
01:34:10
thing [ __ ] H I might get raided
01:34:12
tomorrow might be what I might get
01:34:15
release it but you know I've I've kind
01:34:17
of channeled my my anger and and try and
01:34:21
channel my emotions
01:34:24
well I like to you know punch a bag now
01:34:27
punch a bag um the other day when I had
01:34:29
a bit of a hard time I I did some
01:34:31
Sprints up and down my
01:34:33
driveway um I had a guy from Australia
01:34:35
send me over a bloody ice bath because
01:34:37
he he said that it helps I just jumped
01:34:40
into that oh how ice baths are amazing
01:34:43
yeah how good 3 minutes how long two
01:34:46
[ __ ] know but then my mate [ __ ] I
01:34:48
was doing the recording and then he
01:34:50
didn't record it so I had to jump back
01:34:52
in
01:34:53
not on Instagram it didn't happen it
01:34:55
didn't happen exactly exactly um where
01:34:58
do you hope where do you hope to see
01:34:59
yourself in like 5 years 10 years from
01:35:00
now hopefully my daughter's going to
01:35:02
give me heaps of grandkids and I can
01:35:03
look after them and just provide for my
01:35:05
family yeah I just want a happy life
01:35:08
yeah yeah um same as everyone eh I just
01:35:11
want to yeah um I'm really winning at
01:35:14
the moment with my business it's just
01:35:17
really thriving my crew are just really
01:35:19
happy to be there everybody just loves
01:35:21
and just enjoys going to work why why so
01:35:24
serious why so serious you don't need to
01:35:27
be so serious just enjoy life enjoy it
01:35:31
and if it comes at a cost by doing a uh
01:35:33
so-called burnout on the on the beach uh
01:35:36
lost attraction on the beach but I can
01:35:38
lose traction like that I can go on a
01:35:40
bicycle on the beach and lose traction
01:35:42
you know like come on be realistic bro
01:35:46
just just stop the pisant [ __ ] right you
01:35:48
know if I was out there causing drama
01:35:51
being a [ __ ] cun come after me I'm not
01:35:54
doing that you know what I mean I'm not
01:35:56
doing any of that yeah well it's going
01:35:58
to be each of their own yeah you know
01:36:01
you can't crucify me for something that
01:36:03
one of my Bros did or whatever like
01:36:05
that's a him decision too maybe he's not
01:36:07
in a good space and didn't tell
01:36:09
anybody right pick yeah you were saying
01:36:12
yeah okay so you were saying not all not
01:36:14
all hit Hunters are the same same as any
01:36:16
any gang it's like if if one person does
01:36:18
something it's not a of course there a
01:36:20
bad [ __ ] out there yeah
01:36:22
absolutely
01:36:23
but but you understand like if one [ __ ]
01:36:25
up it does reflect badly on the whole
01:36:27
organization I guess it does but we're
01:36:30
not an organization we're just a club
01:36:33
yeah we're just a we're just a
01:36:34
motorcycle club you know like you know
01:36:36
you got the veterans you got the gods
01:36:39
Gods riders or whatever it's the same
01:36:42
same you know like you jump on your bike
01:36:45
you go bloody Pub crawling somewhere you
01:36:47
know what I mean be responsible drink
01:36:49
riding we don't drink ride though
01:36:51
majority of us you know last some I did
01:36:53
that was in the Vu and the head but of
01:36:55
the
01:36:58
taxi but yeah that's as bad as I get
01:37:01
this is b as I get now we're not
01:37:03
headbutting any more taxi drivers no I
01:37:05
came off the bike and headbed headbutted
01:37:07
the taxi oh oh the sorry I came off the
01:37:10
bike all right I S of imagine you in the
01:37:11
passenger seat of the taxi and then head
01:37:13
the driver sorry my bad they came out
01:37:15
Rob so I was doing a
01:37:16
burnout showing off in front of my
01:37:19
boys took off and then the taxi had a
01:37:22
green light he didn't go I tried to time
01:37:24
it right and I had to put on the front
01:37:26
brake and I head by of the taxi car
01:37:30
car well when you in when you were last
01:37:33
um in front of the judge two years ago
01:37:35
you made a good impression on the judge
01:37:37
um she had a was it she yes she was a
01:37:39
lovely lady yeah she she was glowing a
01:37:42
report about actually you you made a
01:37:43
joke at the end that the drinking butt
01:37:46
yeah what was that oh she goes um uh no
01:37:49
drinking and I was like Hey I was like
01:37:52
nah please can I have that taken off
01:37:55
because I need to celebrate and then she
01:37:58
goes yes I'll give you that so she took
01:38:00
the drinking she been drink responsibly
01:38:02
drink responsibly she was awesome and
01:38:04
this is the thing I love the judges the
01:38:06
judges are great people because they've
01:38:09
seen it all you know you got a police
01:38:11
officer who thinks that he knows
01:38:12
everything but he doesn't he's never
01:38:14
lived life he's never he's never uh you
01:38:17
know Stood Beside Me or or walked and or
01:38:19
walked Walked a path that I've walked
01:38:21
you know like they they they quick
01:38:23
everyone's quick to judge and and press
01:38:26
and you know what I mean um but nobody
01:38:29
but with a judge a judge is totally
01:38:31
different they run by the law book so
01:38:33
then I that's why I know I'm good to go
01:38:36
when I go in front of a judge because I
01:38:39
particularly haven't really [ __ ] up
01:38:40
you know what I mean yeah it's just I
01:38:41
[ __ ] up I didn't like yeah what's
01:38:44
funny you talk about the Judgment thing
01:38:46
cuz um when I said on Instagram you were
01:38:48
coming um 99% of the comments were
01:38:50
people saying oh they're looking forward
01:38:52
to listening to this for an Insight um
01:38:54
there's one message that stood out to me
01:38:56
saying patched gang member really Dom
01:38:59
All Time Low let's not forget how they
01:39:01
earn that patch so GED your podcast has
01:39:04
come to this yeah such I ear my patch by
01:39:06
um getting a license getting a job and
01:39:08
being a maid man yeah having a yeah
01:39:11
being responsible so that's how I got my
01:39:12
patch by being a made man such a slap in
01:39:15
the face for all the families directly
01:39:16
affected by these thugs um yeah I don't
01:39:19
know what are their families doing what
01:39:21
are they going to tick up meth off a
01:39:23
drug deal or something you know cuz
01:39:25
that's what you know what are what are
01:39:27
what are we doing if mate this is the
01:39:31
sigtigma behind it all is just
01:39:32
outrageous because I can guarantee you
01:39:34
now if your son was getting picked on
01:39:36
down at Newland Mall and getting stor
01:39:38
over for his shoes I'm pretty sure that
01:39:39
gang member will stop that situation not
01:39:41
help the situation yeah you know what I
01:39:44
mean yeah well you made a good
01:39:45
impression on the judge and um you
01:39:47
you've made a good impression on me
01:39:49
cheers I appreciate that bro anyone
01:39:51
that's listening is going to make their
01:39:52
their own mind up but um absolutely and
01:39:55
some people probably accuse me of you
01:39:56
know being too soft on you or not asking
01:39:58
hard questions but I'm not a I'm not a
01:40:00
journalist I'm just a guy that wants to
01:40:02
um understand um people and things that
01:40:05
I don't have enough understanding about
01:40:06
everybody's got different lives man 100%
01:40:08
you know and so be it you're not in
01:40:10
bloody Afghanistan doing dumb [ __ ] over
01:40:13
there you know we're we're we're lucky
01:40:15
to be here but let's at the same time
01:40:17
let's just not go that that way man like
01:40:22
just yeah to have your privacy invaded
01:40:26
over um a a suspicious driving act it's
01:40:30
a little bit unall for realistically
01:40:34
well I'm yeah I
01:40:35
mean I use my phone quite often when I
01:40:38
