00:00:04
yo what is up people of the internet welcome back to a bonus episode of the waveform podcast we're your hosts I'm
00:00:10
Marquez I'm Andrew and I'm David and hopefully no Tech this week this this
00:00:16
you know usually right here is where we talk about all the tech stories we're going to talk about today is the opposite our goal today is to talk about
00:00:23
no Tech notice there's no laptops in front of any of us nothing video viewers have already picked up on the lack of
00:00:29
tech I mean we microphones but we do what's the theme for this episode so we were thinking of a bonus episode to do
00:00:35
for this month and I kind of came up with this idea which we elaborated on a bit more which was we asked every single
00:00:40
person including us inside of the studio to bring in something that they enjoy that has the least amount of tech
00:00:47
possible so this is kind of the opposite of what we do in every single piece of content we've pretty much ever made we
00:00:54
like we like new technological things let's look at some things that people like that do not involve Tech this is
00:01:01
our Tech Detox episode Tech detox Show and Tell show and tell but along that we had to make it kind of game showy so um
00:01:09
we're giving each person five minutes to pitch their object we are allowed to ask questions during that our goal at the
00:01:15
end of this episode is to all vote the four of us here on which we think is the
00:01:21
coolest but also the least technologically advanced um and one last
00:01:26
thing Ellis whipped up for us is we all have a button in front of us we're calling this the that is Tech
00:01:32
button also no one in the studio knows about this button yet I don't think okay so when they come in if their way of
00:01:39
explaining their item involves Tech in any ways we press this and tell them that is tech tech H okay bad it's
00:01:46
actually quite hard to come up with objects that are not really considered technology not only is it hard we gave
00:01:53
you guys extremely minimal amount of time to think of like one day I think Monday we decided to make it and
00:02:00
yesterday is when we told everyone to bring something in so yeah minimal time yeah well uh we can just jump right into
00:02:07
it yeah start with GNA start um do you want to start Marquez I think you start
00:02:13
a lot of pressure but I'll go first I don't actually have my item with me because it was far too large and heavy
00:02:19
for me to bring and that I could okay so I little backstory went to music
00:02:27
school have a degree in music unfortunately and um love playing music obviously it's
00:02:34
not my career at the moment because I'm here with you lovely people but uh I
00:02:39
okay well you know it's funny my my music industry friends do not consider
00:02:44
this working in music and then my non-m music industry friends just cannot tell the difference between any of the
00:02:51
different entertainment Fields so depends on who you ask anyway I wanted to play music at home I live in a small
00:02:57
Brooklyn apartment a piano was not really oh he's ready piano was
00:03:03
not really feasible um so I got I'm I'm going to use the dword I did
00:03:10
get a digital but but hear me out hear me out hear me out okay okay I I specifically
00:03:16
wanted something that was not going to go in my music studio I wanted something that was going to go in my living room
00:03:22
would never get plugged into a professional piece of gear would never be used on a track would never be used
00:03:27
it's like this is purely for fun and so I sought out the only digital piano I
00:03:34
could find that had both uh speakers built in [Music]
00:03:41
and and but here's the thing and no screen every no I said no
00:03:47
screen every single every single digital piano on the market has this little like LCD screen which in my opinion makes it
00:03:55
completely ineligible as a living room piece because then you have this little like it's it sucks and so here I have I
00:04:02
pulled up a picture of I've seen this piano and it is a beautiful piece of machiner yeah it like in essence it is
00:04:08
Tech but in spirit can I ask a question absolutely do you have to turn it
00:04:15
on say it so many things are Tech it's hard like not only you have to turn it
00:04:20
on but you have to wait for the tubes to warm up yeah that's I feel like that qualifies us not not Tech that's Tech it
00:04:28
yes yes I have to turn it on on yes it's Tech but I chose that one specifically because it is the least Tech the least
00:04:37
Tech without spending like eight grand on a Nord this is like so if like you're
00:04:43
smoking there's going cold turkey which is what we're talking about this is like the Vape of Technology this is like you
00:04:50
slowly getting away from the tech aspect of I know but that is a really pretty
00:04:55
piano what's it called uh that is the corg sv2
00:05:00
sp73 with speakers made by a really cool company called Kay from Italy a level
00:05:06
name part of me was hoping one of the companies would have the word Tech in it and I was ready for the no no no thankfully I didn't get get got that
00:05:14
hard but yeah it's a really cool piece um if you are thinking of buying this
00:05:19
here's what I will say it's perfect I love it there is one flaw that no one in
00:05:26
any of the reviews mentioned like I watched so many reviews before buying this no one mentioned this so you heard
00:05:32
it here first uh all the sounds in it are in Stereo which rules because it has left and right speakers and it sounds
00:05:38
very alive oh okay I see I see now how wrong this
00:05:43
is I'm saying anyway when you put the effects wow this is just this I'm just
00:05:50
I'm to stop doting the button no no it's fair I just need to get this out because because no one mentioned this in any of
00:05:56
the reviews and it really I was like how did everyone over this when you put the
00:06:01
effects on um it goes from stereo to Mono mhm 100% of the time which like why
00:06:09
can I not have a stereo chorus why can I not have a stereo flanger why does this instrument become small and fake
00:06:15
sounding just because I I don't understand how everyone anyway that's that's my rant that's my thing you know
00:06:21
what's tough about this is like a certain period of time well yeah but at a certain period of time inventing the
00:06:28
piano and being like the mechanics of a hammer hitting a string and vibrating
00:06:34
and doing this would probably be considered technology totally agree we can't go down the I think that's the
00:06:39
point we should elaborate at the end all of the things we look at and I think we're going to have to dive into lot
00:06:45
cameras I own are like extremely technically complex but they're all
00:06:51
fully mechanical right I think we have to draw a clear line of what is Tech and what is not and
00:06:58
I have I have like two options right now in my head one is is there an onoff switch okay and two is is there any
00:07:04
compute at all okay can I go next as a stark contrast mine is far less
00:07:13
interesting than Ellis's but definitely on the like quote unquote dumbest side
00:07:18
of probably what we'll see let's do it I'm ready let's do it pulls out a
00:07:23
rock cast my cast iron pan that I use
00:07:28
almost every day okay um cooking with it is an absolute joy in comparison to
00:07:35
regular pans nonstick pans are terrible it is heavy I am extremely extremely
00:07:41
proud of the seasoning that has been on it what kind of soap do you use for it none um I mean okay don't want to start
00:07:48
that argument CU like if you have a a well seasoned cast iron fan you can't use soap on it um tell how long he is in
00:07:57
the comments How is soap design soap chemically do it's clean not
00:08:03
it's not oh you're trying to say well I don't use soap on it so but essentially all this is is an absolute stamped piece
00:08:11
of metal yeah cast iron cast iron um and through love and commitment wait isn't
00:08:19
it cast yeah cast oh cast iron yeah you're right not stamped correct oh true
00:08:25
who's got the pan here Ellis I can do it too casted iron But but so like if you've
00:08:31
never cooked with the cast iron pan the Sears you get on them are absolutely amazing the versatility what oh my God
00:08:39
the versatil yours okay the versatility you get out of it being able to put it into the oven and not worry about
00:08:45
anything it will last forever this is probably s or eight years old and it was
00:08:50
like $20 it's just Lodge Lodge is not very expensive rules um and all you have
00:08:57
to do is upkeep it pretty much which is not not as hard as everyone thinks but out of the things in my house that I use
00:09:03
the most that I think fall under the dumb category this will never have Wi-Fi
00:09:09
this will never have an app no onoff switch this will yeah no Bluetooth Cod
00:09:14
like I said not the most exciting no I mean but on the dumb scale I like that it's something I'm also realizing it's
00:09:21
still a little dirty as it's supposed to be yeah that's the bottom that's not where the food is it's seasoned yeah not
00:09:27
to make this back attack but when I switch to cast iron and this is going to be like so hippie dippy weird but it's
00:09:34
when I realized that heat is like really energy in like the same way that
00:09:40
electricity is energy like what makes cast iron work so well is it can retain
00:09:45
so much more heat so when you're cooking with stainless you can get it ripping hot really quick but then you put meat
00:09:51
on it all of a sudden you've added this like thermal load you're losing so much heat and so even though you'll get like
00:09:57
10 seconds of sick sear that thermal load is drawing all that heat out of the stainless cast iron on the other hand is
00:10:05
just like this giant thermal battery you know I mean you can you can put such a load on it and it's still able to retain
00:10:12
all of that energy on the big reason cities are like need to be redesigned right now is because so many cities are
00:10:18
designed around like concrete and all the like sidewalks and like walls of buildings are concrete and so during the
00:10:24
Summers they're retaining too much heat and because it's getting slightly hotter every year that's making the effective
00:10:30
like radiation of walking around a city feel really hot we need to build cities out of stainless steel that's right cast
00:10:36
IR the worst car or just you know return to the the
00:10:42
forest y see pal yeah yeah this is good I like that like I think those are stark
00:10:48
contrast there yeah should I go um I'm so excited I'm excited I want for yours
00:10:54
and for Mariah's for some reason those are the ones I'm the most interested far too much hype for go mine's very heavy
00:11:01
give me a second mine is too all our stuff is well let me give a little pre Preamble so so this is hard for me okay
00:11:09
I I use a lot of tech yeah in my life for everything that I do I am terminally
00:11:15
connected to the internet and just in general use tech for everything and I also didn't want to go like too easy
00:11:21
with like even the things that I've designed like I could have said my shoes or my wallet or my backpack like the
00:11:27
obvious stuff that's technically not Tech but I got something I did get something okay for even on camera you can't see
00:11:33
this but it is sitting on the floor under two jackets so we can't see it
00:11:38
dang oh it seems heavy oh what the oh Jesus the whole table just shook for
00:11:45
audio listeners what it's a large object underneath a jacket is he have to pull out a sewing
00:11:52
Ma I almost my one of those too is this the is this the Boflex one this is yes
00:11:58
so this is a bow Flex I I just looked up the name and I got a I'd been thinking about buying this for a long time wait
00:12:04
wait wait wait wait wait CU it's quite expensive that weighs 105 PBS I own the same you just casually lifted 105 52
00:12:11
each one's 52 and a half each no each plate is 5 the whole thing the whole
00:12:16
thing sorry right right okay cutting that from the episode so this is called
00:12:22
the Boflex select Tech adjustable select Tech select
00:12:27
Tech damn
00:12:33
damn okay well uh caught red in yeah but hear me out okay so this is an
00:12:39
adjustable dumbbell so as someone who regularly does free weight workouts because they're better than cable
00:12:44
machines or any sort of machine in my opinion uh not having to have a ton of different weights of every single weight
00:12:50
from 5 lbs all the way up listen to this
00:12:55
that is satisfying it's so funny that the mic is the ex exact same color way all the way up to Total glance by the
00:13:02
way all the way up to 52 and 12 lbs in increments of five or 2 and a half at the lower weights really cool uh tell me
00:13:09
Tech makes this sound that's no sounds like a like a typewriter or something te
00:13:15
profession um and yeah so you basically you can ratch it into whatever weight you want and let's say I want 5
00:13:22
lbs now this is 5 lb but these like keys in the middle I feel like I'm doing it
00:13:27
like an ad or something now I'll do 10 lb on each side you can do uneven sides but that's silly now it's 10 lb cuz it's
00:13:34
got extra weight on it and this this continues to go all the way up to 52 and A2 I have the other one at home which is
00:13:40
100 lb which is in larger increments between weights I think it's 5 lb between every weight but it can go up to
00:13:47
100 lb dumbbell wow this thing is great saves me a lot of time if I want to very quickly adjust and add a tiny amount of
00:13:53
weight between sets I can do that or just yeah I can use them for anything they're great they're kind of bulky I
00:13:59
recommend them and they're like I got them like in Peak Co like extremely
00:14:05
expensive I got them before Co so they were not that expensive Co it was like an nft like the sales of those yeah they
00:14:12
sold out and if they were on people were just reselling them on Facebook I tried to get a pair of them and there's no I
00:14:17
these like liquid gold during Co yeah so uh I I understand they have the word Tech in the name okay but but I don't
00:14:24
think that these are Tech I I brought them because they have no on button no compute they're weights it is true
00:14:31
that's like the opposite you are completely right there is zero Tech involved which is why it's so funny that
00:14:36
the first thing you said was the word Tech in the process of it I do have to point out there's a difference between Technical and Technology yeah right like
00:14:44
we kind of like combine them at the same time but like technical school used to mean that you would go to school for
00:14:50
like a trade yes I do think that they are using when they say select Tech they
00:14:58
are using the term technology but I think that's because the term technology is extremely overused and anything
00:15:04
that's even remotely like Innovation they would call this technology that's
00:15:10
like their weight selecting technology yeah which you know so it
00:15:16
happens to be red and black total qu it really the fact that they haven't reached out to you and made you uh what
00:15:22
part of their marketing team is actually surprising anything Innovative used to be called a technology mhm
00:15:29
and now we associate it with computers especially us who covers like consumer
00:15:35
the world too you the Greek root Tech that is the center of both the words
00:15:41
like Technical and Technology just going to look this up so it's it means it refers to like a craft or a skill or
00:15:47
like a a specific that's why it's Tech so we screwed up the word it's our fault
00:15:54
we ComEd the word sort of yeah yeah yeah okay I like that one I like that because
00:16:00
it's it's like I do like that even though there's no computers in it it's still like cool it's welld designed I
00:16:06
wanted to shout out something that was well designed not designed by me I will also say during Co like before they got
00:16:11
super expensive I was trying to decide between that one and like the cheap knockoff Amazon Basics one I'm sure
00:16:18
they're all the same no no not according to reviews yeah it does not sound I got the Amazon Basics one it was it was no
00:16:26
it's not good the the when there's that much weight applied to like a pin mechanism or not it's not a pin
00:16:31
mechanism but like sort of a key mechanism like that like they get jammed so and the mechanism of the cheap ones
00:16:38
like are they take forever to change the weight settings of and then also when
00:16:43
you have that much weight on the bar you need it to be like rubberized to the point where it doesn't like really press
00:16:49
into your hands and hurt you the cheap ones will do that and also it yeah it
00:16:54
takes forever to change weights and this was really difficult cuz I was trying to do like home work pressure sizes through
00:17:00
like I don't know like insanity and that stuff like that and you have to you have to pick up different sets of dumbbells
00:17:07
different weights of dumbbells so I was like rapidly trying to change the weights and they were moving really quickly and I just couldn't do it in
00:17:13
time so having that I paying the extra money for that I think is worth it okay there well yeah there you have it age I
00:17:19
love it I'm going to do mine now yeah uh it is predictable but it is not wait then let's guess it's a film CA it's
00:17:26
sitting on the ground not covered right next to us in and didn't cover it no hey come on let's I brought arguably
00:17:35
well I already know how you're trying to explain it right now arguably one of my
00:17:40
least technologically advanced cameras in okay which I have a couple that are
00:17:46
just really simple this one is also really simple but uses just like your
00:17:51
bow Flex dumbbells mhm some Innovative uh Machining to make it like work well
00:17:59
and be interesting it's clever words right there okay I think that might be one of the best parts of this is
00:18:05
watching people slowly realize how they wanted to explain it and then changing their words uh we've talked many times
00:18:11
about my obnoxiously long photographs so this is my most recent
00:18:17
obnoxiously long camera is that way more than the ow that's it's really heavy
00:18:22
it's really heavy it it is basically just pure steel what's it called This is
00:18:28
called the linhoff technorama art 624 tech
00:18:36
tech easy oh wa wait wait is it techno oh
00:18:41
no that's you're right crazy why was every Tech this was made
00:18:48
in like I don't know a really long time ago that thing looks far older than that looks like a Porsche Crest
00:18:55
okay soes look this one's like before the before the I'm pretty sure and they were using anyway the the brand is
00:19:02
called toy Toyama um which uses it's like I think it's owned by linhoff linhoff is a very
00:19:08
old camera company anyway what makes this interesting is it is a 6X 24 camera
00:19:15
but wait that's just 1x4 correct okay but we but we use six by because there's
00:19:20
so many things that use six that you just have to be able to compare it to everything else like 18 by9 got it uh
00:19:27
yeah like yeah like like yeah 21 yeah 21 by 9 16 by9 yeah exactly uh cuz
00:19:35
everything's aspect ratios so is quite literally just a box right very long box
00:19:42
there's a film gate in here and then just a lens that's literally it so the lens in in most modern cameras a lot of
00:19:50
stuff happens on the camera itself like you're uh you're changing the shutter speed and you're changing the iso and
00:19:56
all this stuff but on this everything happens in the lens itself because this is a large format lens so you have a
00:20:04
shutter in the lens itself you have shutter speed on the lens itself and you also have aperture on the lens itself
00:20:12
right here opens and closes the aperture yeah so you trigger shutter with the
00:20:17
lens yes how does the shutter speed mechanism communicate with the shutter
00:20:24
like how does it know how long to open Springs Springs yeah t really interesting it's all just tension
00:20:31
which is insane that they are able to get it that like precise and they can do it from 1 second all the way up to
00:20:38
1500th of a second jeez uh there's also bulb mode and all that stuff so like for example oh you hear that I do doesn't
00:20:45
that sound amazing hold up to the yeah yeah that's good doesn't the spring lose
00:20:52
tension over time though like 70 years old you would think so and often you need to get uh these kind of things CLA
00:20:59
but for some reason large format lenses are good can you explain what CLA oh sorry CLA means uh
00:21:05
clean um lube and arson something else but it's
00:21:13
basically just like cleaning up the in insides of a of a camera so here's the here's the um the the cocking
00:21:21
mechanism so you it and then you have it like 500 of a second and usually
00:21:27
you use this okay oh here the other cool part okay sorry this is long-winded but
00:21:32
so the the back of the camera where you put the film in secretly
00:21:37
hides this which is a ground glass who system yeah and then the ground glass
00:21:44
system goes on here and then you have to use like a dark cloak um but when the
00:21:52
lens is all the way open and before you put the film in you're able to see and frame through that and frame through
00:21:58
that you can't really see it from there you have pointed at a brighter light source generally and it mostly circulars in the
00:22:04
middle anyway it's an 8 by 10 lens uh with this 6X 24 filmgate so yeah
00:22:10
everything happens in the lens itself and then for Focus you have this knob which literally just moves a Bellow
00:22:16
forward and backward because you're just focusing the light on the film
00:22:22
plane and uh yeah so you can hook up you can hook up a shutter release to here
00:22:27
which allows you to like do it remotely um but once you it you can fire it
00:22:32
by just pressing this wow and it's it sounds very nice if you have it on one second you know you
00:22:39
it and you shoot it and it's like that's the spring wa isn't that
00:22:46
awesome dude some good sounds on this I know it's yeah I saw you brought a camera I tried not to look that hard at
00:22:52
first I thought it was the 3D printed one and I was going to go off about like 3D printing no that's I specifically did
00:22:58
not bring that one because of that I have been like looking at every nook and cranny of this to try and find something
00:23:04
electrical it is mechanics just by proxy of this built in you said the it's like
00:23:10
the 30s I think there's just no way yeah Ben Franklin hadn't discovered electricity that's good stuff even
00:23:16
though like there's a physical level on top like everything is a bubble it's a
00:23:21
bubble level though it's like yeah there's a bunch of different bubble levels and then they actually mounted
00:23:27
you know on my 3D print camera use the smartphone as the to as the viewfinder they actually made a viewfinder that you
00:23:33
can look through the top here so this is more like after you've already loaded the film and you've used the back end to
00:23:40
perfectly frame it cuz it's going to be a little off so okay this this ground glass is only if you want to like Focus
00:23:47
but with a camera like this you're mostly shooting Landscapes that's fine you're mostly shooting Landscapes and if
00:23:53
you want to focus you can only really do it for like one shot because you only get three shots in roll a film on this
00:23:59
anyway damn you can only open it for the first one or before the first one you could you could focus it and then
00:24:05
bracket it which would be doing like different exposures to make sure that you get the right
00:24:12
exposure um HDR you say no well kind of
00:24:18
sure manual HDR um but yeah there's literally nothing wiry or computery
00:24:24
about this it's a box about that that's sick it's a box I love box so protocols and boxes that's that's
00:24:31
what I like anyway that's my thing how good is the face detect in the
00:24:36
autofocus are there any filters yeah yeah well well you could put a filter on
00:24:41
the front but yeah I don't know I will say also um as someone who has now shot 6X 24 and 6X 17 6X 24 is too long it is
00:24:50
I'm admitting a little bit of defeat it is too long it's just obnoxious to show
00:24:56
on the internet at all was I was going to I was going to go into that but yeah yeah so yeah I do love my box though
00:25:04
even though it's made of steel and it's a really heavy I feel like David is the winner so far oh wow I do like how uh
00:25:11
even though none of our objects are theoretically technology um except Ellis's right yeah totally they all are
00:25:20
very like mechanically interesting yeah yeah it used to be technology yeah you
00:25:25
know like andrews's physics mine's not that interesting making it involved technology mine's
00:25:32
less interesting more everyday useful the physics of cast iron are interesting
00:25:37
cool versus a different kind of pan the porous metal well we have many more uh of these items to show and tell to get
00:25:44
to so without any further Ado I think let's jump into those see what everybody else brought all right after the break
00:25:51
[Music]
00:26:02
all right welcome back so as I mentioned before we asked everyone at the studio who wanted to who had something to bring
00:26:08
it in and maybe show us and maybe convince us why we might want that thing again no Tech just something you use
00:26:14
every day something you enjoy something you can't get enough of that has no Tech involved bring in the first person let's
00:26:21
see what they brought [Music] [Applause]
00:26:27
[Music] it's very funny cuz Tim can't hear the
00:26:32
welcome music but all of us can oh there it is yeah I also think it's funny that when I hear clapping I instinctively
00:26:38
want to clap please clap Behavior I have to make noise with my hands is that why they
00:26:44
started hiring all the Apple people to clap so then have laugh track in TV shows for
00:26:51
people who don't know who is this hey Tim no one knows who I am have you ever been on the podcast before remotely get
00:26:57
closer to the mic I've been remotely my bedroom so Tim you so I
00:27:04
don't know if anyone's things that we' brought so far I've had anything to do with what we do here but I figured some
00:27:10
people might do that so you do Graphics you do some design on the channels what have you brought to show us today right
00:27:17
so I'm going to post some questions real quick David okay you're someone that likes to go out of nature right you
00:27:23
appreciate nature what if I had something that you could appreciate on a deeper level and feel more of a
00:27:28
emotional connection right even more than nature yeah no just somethingone to feel better like a deeper connection to
00:27:34
Nature and appreciation on another level right bring mushrooms in the office bro Andrew I'll skip you okay
00:27:42
what Marquez Andrew is also a boy you like Puzzles right Wordle you play word right sure
00:27:50
yeah yeah yeah yeah things that you know tigle your brain critical thinking that kind of stuff right what if I had
00:27:55
something that would appease that as well I'd be into that yeah I think so you're Al athletic too right a little
00:28:01
bit you can rip a frizz you got strong forearms rip a r I'm using that all
00:28:07
right okay all right so I what I what I brought today
00:28:12
oh oh yeah so for the listeners these are a pair of Las portiva finale
00:28:19
climbing shoes climbing Sho climbing shoes is what I brought today yeah yeah
00:28:24
this is about a $100 product maybe 130 if you don't get them on sale is it caraban or yeah either have used like
00:28:31
backpack seen climbing shoes real they are like I used to climb a little they are like the epitome of low low Tech
00:28:38
will also be like they are the most uncomfortable shoes you were they're so uncomfortable yeah every sport I play
00:28:43
has specialty Footwear that are all uncomfortable uh most specialty Footwear is uncomfortable cuz they're specialty
00:28:50
they're like designed for a purpose rather than comfort you know climbing shoes are like if you took your ultimate
00:28:55
cleats and it needed to form your big toe into the spike that went into the ground yeah imagine that the whole time
00:29:03
you're wearing thing though I I mean yeah they're all uncomfortable this is probably the most comfortable like they're pitched as one of the more
00:29:09
comfortable like endurance shoes like you could wear these for four or 5 hours
00:29:14
if you're out in the you know the woods or the you know so the technical the technical prowess of like what are they
00:29:20
designed around what is the benefit of climbing shoes grip more toe on edge
00:29:25
you're trying to get a better Edge to back in the early days they used to just have like street wear shoes like
00:29:31
Converse whatever and they would just tie them so tight that their feet would you want your toes to curl so you have
00:29:37
toe Downs you can grip it right but over time they've adapted the shoes to to
00:29:42
have a little bit more of that edge and to be a little bit more comfortable so you're not literally you know like binding so they're flexible around the
00:29:48
toe area they have a little bit of toe flex but they're Meant To Be Stiff so that your toe doesn't Flex too much so
00:29:53
more of the work is kind of in the shoe not so much on your muscles so you do the toe flex and Marquez does the bow
00:29:59
Flex nice okay you own a blex he brought in his Boflex
00:30:05
wegs was the blex I haven't heard that name since high school TV commercials yeah anyway yeah
00:30:14
um cool I mean and and climbing is a good one in this because especially outdoor climbing is generally like one
00:30:21
of the least technical things possible you're climbing on something that is nature it's like not even buil you have
00:30:28
to put your phone away you have to be social you have to really think and like you know yeah you got to be in the
00:30:33
moment too it's pretty in the moment true that's true I do like them and they are just like you know you've made Adam
00:30:40
shoes and how much of that was based on comfort and style I was say Andrew he skipped you but now that you've seen these are these good they're they're
00:30:47
good shoes there's like a lot of different types of shoes like he was saying as uncomfortable as those look
00:30:53
those are meant for more comfortable like people generally use that for more
00:30:58
traditional climbing where they're up on a wall for a really long time where like bouldering shoes start getting a little more of like turn your foot into an
00:31:06
eagle talon uh because you're usually doing things at a little more of an angle so it benefits if your toes bent
00:31:13
down a little more to be able to get things at this level I didn't bring those in um I mean like a lot of people
00:31:19
and it gets to the point where and this is for like the professionals who are using the smallest holes possible uh
00:31:26
like holds to put their feet on they'll their shoes will be so tight that they can't fit their foot inside them they essentially have to put a plastic like
00:31:33
grocery bag in them I shouldn't be putting my hand inside tint climbing shoe that's not great but and then
00:31:39
they'll they'll put the plastic bag so their foot can slip in and then you pull the plastic bag out so it's
00:31:45
like they're wearing like two Street sizes down or like whatever their street size like if you're size 13 they're
00:31:50
wearing like basically size 11s oh that's crazy yeah so I'm I think like I'm down one whole size my street shoe
00:31:59
is dang that's why it has twice as many P oh yeahuh okay interesting my non
00:32:07
Tech item for you guys yeah I like it defin even in the like shoe Tech it's a niche Tech of it um but yeah like for
00:32:14
normal shoes it is not following any of the standard protocols it thank you Tim we're going
00:32:21
to get you on the wall I know it see one day don't give in Marquez do
00:32:28
you know what the like tops of the shoes are made of like what is that soft material be careful Tim suede suede this
00:32:35
is literally like suede polyester laces and rubber rubber poer well suede is suede is just they're hunting polyester
00:32:42
is a blend yeah they're they're extremely comfortable cool all right thank you very much Tim it's been a
00:32:48
pleasure we appreciate you I I like your shoes
00:32:55
[Applause] [Music]
00:33:02
a wizard of us I love this all right next up
00:33:11
[Music] [Applause]
00:33:17
Vang I see the item already he brought one for all of us yeah this is a little bit of a show and tell okay oh wow so uh
00:33:25
you can inspect these gloves oh wow those look nice so my item is my
00:33:31
lacr but you don't need all the extra stuff you know you could play by yourself or with friends mhm and you
00:33:37
don't necessarily need the default Ball but oh this is uh there's two different
00:33:43
balls technically if you uh feel them up this one is the traditional one and this is a newly manufactured Ball even though
00:33:51
it looks a little bit older that's not actually made of the same rubber it
00:33:56
doesn't grease up the same as if like the uh the original Ball So within a
00:34:02
year like because there's a lot of kids playing and like the ball gets tossed around a lot and like through weather MH
00:34:10
they traditionally get slick and Oily to the point that the rubber like gives out and you kind of can't throw the ball
00:34:16
consistently so the newer ones are manufactured differently different construction so this our second Sports
00:34:22
item of the day yeah so Tim had climbing shoes MH Tim climbs I imagine you're
00:34:28
playing a good amount of Lacrosse uh little known fact I played one season of
00:34:34
Lacrosse a very long time ago in high school uh around the high school age
00:34:39
yeah uh yeah yeah I think early high school and I realized I didn't like getting trucked all the time yeah so I
00:34:46
stopped playing do you get bodied is that what it is you can get stick checked but you can also get body
00:34:51
checked like in hockey you can have someone run right up to you and just absolutely I like that I don't like cuz
00:34:58
I would not do it to other people and then I would feel I was stick checking a lot but check this right you ever played
00:35:03
catch with like a parent or a an older sibling for sure I've been known to yeah
00:35:08
maybe with your friends maybe if you don't have friends you could play against the wall thought about that cuz
00:35:14
those balls are really bouncy right so you can just like rip it out a wall and then receive it back lacrosse has always
00:35:20
been interesting first of all this glove is really impressive actually like well
00:35:26
careful about engineering has joints the the the civil
00:35:31
engineering it's like for such a protective glove the ventilation and the
00:35:37
movement in it is say those words really impressive I'm making a joke we should make we should explain no you're allowed
00:35:42
to say whatever you want but this is a Native American sport if y'all didn't know so this is like yes wow so that's
00:35:48
awesome the reason why it's called Lacross it sounds kind of French right that's because French Canadians coined
00:35:54
that term after they took it from the Native Americans wow oh do you know what it was called originally uh I don't know
00:36:01
the exact name in the language but it was called the creators game there's a a really cool I think it's a YouTube
00:36:08
channel of a person who still makes the like original lacrosse sticks of like
00:36:13
car like taking from a tree slowly bending the top and weaving The netting out of it it's really interesting that's
00:36:19
awesome V we got to ask when did you start playing lacrosse I started in
00:36:25
middle school but well I started casually in middle school but I got a
00:36:31
stick in fifth grade from my friend Marshall rhods shout out M fifth grade
00:36:36
birthday present that's her sick birthday present exposure yeah I I think
00:36:42
this definitely is not Tech and this definitely qualifies as a interesting and potentially very useful and fun also
00:36:50
sports related I have a question do you have a lacrosse activity
00:36:55
on your Apple watch yes M that's going to hurt that's going to hurt the not rankings we're like we're
00:37:03
like attempting to find the absolute the holes the holes holes also this glove
00:37:09
says Vapor which is like Vapor wear or just like regular Vapor that's kind of I
00:37:16
will say so this one is pure Scandium but if you look at the top of that one I left the head off yeah you can see a
00:37:23
little insert and around that insert uh the do you see any like
00:37:29
layering looks like I mean yeah it's like white and then black right that black part it's carbon fiber oh
00:37:35
so structure yeah when I started I played competitively in high school for
00:37:42
a couple of years and carbon fiber was not as uh popular but now after some
00:37:48
advancements and non non not going to mention some
00:37:54
Innovative Structural Engineering no no no
00:37:59
they after some time they figured it out cool and so ni cool yeah there's been a
00:38:05
lot of improvements over the years it's cool to come back and see what's changed where we're at awesome all right thank
00:38:11
you very much this yeah this falls under the non-tech category and you did an excellent job thank you very much for
00:38:17
coming in appreciate it go ahead and play last and good luck at your next game or match or whatever it's called
00:38:23
yes match I think match right game game game game it's a game okay yeah I've seen this on
00:38:30
your Instagram story recently looks fun very [Applause]
00:38:37
nice didn't have Tek in the name that's good good that's good all right we're ready for our next
00:38:44
contestant question mark it's Brandon Havard [Music] [Applause]
00:38:50
[Music] [Applause]
00:38:56
Brandon than how goes it welcome thanks pull up a
00:39:01
chair welcome welcome tell tell us and then before you tell us anything you may
00:39:07
notice we have buzzers here these are our that's Tech buzzers so at any point
00:39:13
if any of us get a whiff of Technology you might hear a sound yeah no pressure anyway go on concerned continue what is
00:39:20
your item Brandon well I mean I think a few people would probably not be surprised by this information
00:39:28
but I really like writing on paper really like writing on paper
00:39:34
specifically dotted paper because you get some nice clean lines on dotted paper dotted like and yeah um like a DOT
00:39:42
grid kind of situation um I like storyboarding because I I don't really
00:39:47
like to think too much up here I like to put it on paper so I have a few notebooks this is just from the past
00:39:53
year um and these two notebooks are paired with uh the ridge
00:39:59
pen interesting um I will say I think the benefit of something like dotted
00:40:08
paper is you kind of have like built-in measur stop I don't like that you're
00:40:14
good at everything feel like flexing on yeah he's like oh here's like a casual drawing of the C like I get rather bored
00:40:22
sometimes when I'm like like waiting at a doctor's appointment or something so like you're Doom scrolling you're using
00:40:28
your notebook I'm usually using my notebooks how dare you do something healthy for your mental state or like you know go to a coffee shop and draw a
00:40:35
storyboard I don't like it okay and it's it's fun what's the name of the notebook you know that's a great question I um
00:40:42
I'll try and find the link but it's it's just a notebook like it's it's more so the category than the fact that it doesn't have a name feels so much more
00:40:49
in line with like it being the most basic simple thing that we're asking for what kind of drawings do people do with dotted paper I mean usually you're
00:40:56
looking at more creative drawings would you call the most part technical
00:41:02
drawings to would agree so what I think is interesting and maybe this is what helps with that is like it's like dotted
00:41:08
in a grid pattern so it's less obtrusive than fullon just lined paper because you know like art kind of looks bad on line
00:41:14
paper but it has more reference points somehow still than line paper so you can go diagonally up and down in a much more
00:41:22
consistent manner so like when you're doing storyboarding you have a very set grid p of how you're setting that up
00:41:28
also what I like is that they're not like the dots are not really like dark they're very soft so you can you know
00:41:34
draw over them and this was I mean they go back quite a bit but yeah this was
00:41:39
the first page which was the M2 MacBook Air such a good intro too thanks bro as
00:41:46
the person who's generally controlling the robot for a lot of these ideas like it is so useful to have stuff like this
00:41:54
I remember like when we first started doing it it was just like and and it a close-up of the left side of this and
00:42:00
that this is my fault this is not Brandon's fault but I see that robot the robots but like Brandon being able to
00:42:06
say like this is what I want and it looking exactly what it's supposed to look like in frame makes all of our jobs
00:42:13
easier because it's a little faster yeah it's so much faster yeah but yeah that's that's my pick that's awesome caveat to
00:42:20
this yeah if you want to enjoy what Brandon does you have to be talented right I'm out that is that's not
00:42:28
true I agree with him it's not true the dot the dots help actually there's the
00:42:34
this is definitively not Tech and uh definitively useful and we all can vouch very good can vouch um okay I expect to
00:42:42
hear back from you guys very shortly thank you thank you very much you Brandon see you later Brandon
00:42:48
[Applause] bye everyone's doing really good with
00:42:55
this yeah except except hey like what's the name of the notebook not Ted obviously oh my gosh okay to be
00:43:04
fair to mine it's called the Techno R so like no Tech you know
00:43:09
techno you can't get having a name I got that was that okay justad I think up
00:43:17
next at least according to my list we have someone who's got something pretty
00:43:23
interesting um so without further Ado I think it's time to bring on MKBHD editor
00:43:29
Mariah [Music] [Applause]
00:43:36
Zen no way oh you're just using the but all I don't think it's what you're
00:43:41
thinking is okay Mari always goes unhinged she uh oh it's it's probably
00:43:47
going to be something different it's much heavier looking oh there's there's bow Flex in there there we go hello
00:43:55
sharks today I'm looking for A1 billion stake for 10% of my company just go to
00:44:02
Peter Luger yeah and I know you love an unboxing experience I do so I will let you open the apparatus yourself
00:44:11
okay I'm so hoping it's not what I think it istech and I hope it is it's not fintech related okay never
00:44:18
mind okay so there's several things in here I'm just going to take them each out what are we looking at okay
00:44:28
okay you have to dramatically open the it I see okay so I will so we're looking at a
00:44:37
scroll of sorts like fabric on two wooden blocks that is being unrolled it's a little tangle this is table
00:44:43
tennis related I think I know what this is what do you think it is is it the foot hammock for under your desk wait
00:44:50
this I think I know what this is there a foot what do you think it is David I also thought it was a table tennis uh
00:44:57
net what do you think it is Marquez I think that's a table tennis net I I I no
00:45:03
longer think it's a table tennis heads are at it's a taable tennis net is this really a it could double as
00:45:09
it well Andrew unfortunately knows how my brain chemistry Works he gave it away and it is a foot hammock for under your
00:45:17
desk and um it is clearly a white labeled Amazon product from a non-descript company uh for an unknown
00:45:25
price cuz I did not purchase this but I have become converted really I would say
00:45:31
oh so uh so these gok mhm and then you Loop it over in
00:45:37
somewh probably tie it in it like it might be hard to sway you because I feel like this is a product potentially for
00:45:43
short people and you're all very tall if you could please list your Heights for all of the audio listeners I'm the
00:45:49
shortest one on the podcast I'm 7' n 180 in vertical I'm 510 and a half
00:45:57
62 I think everybody could be converted into using this item potentially um for
00:46:03
anyone who needs to fidget if we like to all collectively fidget at our desk you can kind of Swing Your Feet around I do
00:46:09
like that idea yeah yeah it's more of a swing then than a hammock right a foot swing um yeah yeah it's
00:46:17
whatever you want it to be okay so your feet rest on it like under your desk mhm all the time wait whenever just not all
00:46:24
the time just whenever you want we have to explain something to you you might see Marquez holding a buzzer right now oh yeah this is our button that alerts
00:46:32
if we're sniffing some tech out inside of it so if the button gets pressed it means we're uh on the path to breaking
00:46:40
the rules I would say this is probably as low Tech as you could go does the foot hammock have an app no good answer
00:46:48
um there's no app there's no uh Subscription Service um there's no electronics in fact that might surprise
00:46:55
you no onoff button um yeah no RGB unfortunately no RGB did you buy it on
00:47:01
Amazon Prime she did not buy it I didn't buy it so I don't know how did you
00:47:07
not it just appeared in my home so you know what's funny these desks that we have and also my desk and some others in
00:47:13
the studio are made by X desk I think is what they're still called and one of the
00:47:18
options that you can buy is an I think it's called an Artis bar or something like that but it's like a support bar
00:47:24
that's under the desk that you can rest your feet on and I'm always resting my feet on that oh so this would serve the
00:47:30
same purpose but for desks that don't have that bar and you get to swing if you have yeah oh my God I'm just
00:47:37
realizing this table has one of those and my feet are always on that's what I'm saying guys sharks1
00:47:44
billion four billion um I do think I could use this because my desk is up
00:47:50
against a wall and if you were to look at that wall that is painted white it just has foot scrape marks up and down
00:47:57
because my wall to it um you could probably easily make this at home if you really
00:48:04
wanted to you probably have to cut this off there's no way to change the foot fabric so once this thing's dirty you're
00:48:09
kind of hosed do you know what it looks like the back of like a director's chair just like it true what if I just steal a
00:48:16
director's chair a small table tennis net just a really really small table
00:48:23
yeah yeah anyway no this is good cool I I I didn't press my buzzer once and
00:48:29
didn't even think I needed to yeah I thought you were going to try and make her describe the desk and then go that
00:48:35
route but uh well yeah but I mean survive the button do you use this at home yes this is an at home apparatus
00:48:42
did we describe what this looks like already um it is basically the back of a director's chair the back of aor with
00:48:49
rope Mar what do you what's sits on top of your desk that while you're using this what do you mean is it just an
00:48:55
empty desk you just sit architecture desk like I'm just sitting at an empty desk swinging my feet that's what I'm
00:49:02
asking no that's what I do what I do on a hammock this is a foot foot hammock
00:49:08
what's on the desk feet what's on the desk Mariah no Mar don't please I need
00:49:14
this I'm just wondering sharks I really this oh yeah okay it's a it's a pen and
00:49:21

00:49:51
I really thought your cat was in the Box first I would love that oh my God and
00:49:56
then didn't move and I was just like P the she put it down very softly and like
00:50:02
it looked like it was really that would have been the best thing ever oh my God all right so we've
00:50:07
also had two sports things so far so clearly healthy work life
00:50:14
balance um let's see what the next item SLP person is yes cuz up next we have
00:50:20
special I don't know his title he just agent he makes stuff agent makes stuff
00:50:26
happen guy [Music]
00:50:35
jonno welcome welcome awesome all
00:50:41
right all right jonno tell us what youve brought for us today so I'm really big
00:50:47
into disc golf right and I've been developing my technique a lot mhm and
00:50:52
that means farther throws more risky shots and and unfortunately enough they
00:50:58
go into water sometimes especially on the course near me mhm so today I brought you what's called a disc
00:51:07
Retriever and this one specifically is called the max distance mhm and it has
00:51:12
42 suction cups and I love this thing holy it's crap yeah so it looks like a
00:51:18
bunch of suction cups arranged in a ball at the end of a stick that I assume goes a very far distance can we pull this out
00:51:25
yeah just start sending it I want to see how go it it goes this one goes to like
00:51:31
29 and half I just want to say the I've played
00:51:37
disc golf with J many times the course by him has a lot of water carries oh my
00:51:43
gosh okay it won't this room won't fit it it't fit it won't fense I can
00:51:48
touch losing a disc in the water you know they're like 15 to 20 bucks it's not the end of the world but getting it
00:51:54
back is nice I think I have like this one cost about $160 oh really yeah W
00:51:59
this is so funny okay yeah I i' I've like honestly retrieved like 40 or so
00:52:05
disc so paid for itself yeah paid for itself wow that's that saved like three
00:52:10
of mine playing with and I know you love carbon fiber and it's carbon fiber pieces most of the things today have
00:52:17
been carbon fiber there's been a lot of carbon fiber in here it um so it's
00:52:22
because it's it's suction cup if a disc is in the water and generally flat on top if you have like the one I have is
00:52:28
just like two hooks which you can kind of drag with but underwater if it can't get like over it or into that spot it
00:52:35
that suctions really well on the top of it and as long as you move slowly it'll just slowly pull back so you don't have
00:52:41
to push into the water this is this is Cadence's dog disc oh okay you go and I can't believe you didn't bring an actual
00:52:46
disc off this I Lally forgot wa that works really well even in the water it works well it works even better in the
00:52:53
water I would say the thing is when you're going the water because of like light refractions it does take a little
00:52:59
bit of like I've used this you know baging no it's actually not that bad it's only like in uh under 2 lbs I
00:53:06
believe do you think this would work better if there were RGB LEDs on the end
00:53:11
no cuz that would see better n saw right through your question too easy too easy
00:53:18
too easy yeah it's funny the cuz he said 160 bucks which sounds expensive for what it is but the ratio of that like so
00:53:24
I play golf and The Rao was flipped like if you hit a golf ball into a lake it's
00:53:31
pretty much always gone unless it's near like the edge that's like three four bucks a ball yeah and so as you play
00:53:37
around a golf you will probably lose a couple of golf balls in the woods in the water whatever and that might add up to
00:53:44
a certain amount per round but in in disc golf the disc is also like the club
00:53:49
so you reuse it many times and so if you lose your putter like that you that's like worth a lot more than like a $3
00:53:56
golf I'm not going retri My3 golf from the middle of Lake but I will retrieve with
00:54:03
this gigantic telescoping carbon fiber pull my Putter and disc offl well it's also one of those things is that you as
00:54:09
a player fall in love with your disc as you kind of break them in a little bit
00:54:15
and those become kind of Irreplaceable at some points like the or it takes like
00:54:20
a ton of effort to get it back to the likewe yeah and I actually have two of
00:54:25
those so that's 29 and2 and I got like a 15 ft one for Jillian so well you know
00:54:30
we got two this end part here and this part are 3D pred yeah it's fine it's fine it's fine it's
00:54:39
fine uh since it's disc golf and you've got a couple minutes left favorite what
00:54:44
is one disc that you would like go to extreme lengths with that or just straight up in the water to get if you
00:54:50
needed to I I've told I I texted you when this happened I'm pretty much if I
00:54:56
can get out of work early enough can I can I go home early um I might actually
00:55:01
go swimming for one cuz it is in a lake but unfortunately there's a lot of like Fallen branches around you know where it
00:55:08
is yeah I know exactly where it is but because of how all the branches are arranged it's kind of making into like a
00:55:15
little jail that I can't get it out with that so dang I might I might have to do it it's a dis graph Athena go swimming
00:55:22
there animals in this Lake there are probably leeches but also audience members still water is
00:55:30
disgusting if water is standing still do not have any cuts when you get in it
00:55:35
yeah leeches will get to you so all right I was thinking something disc golf related but I was just thinking of some
00:55:41
discs and I haven't played long enough but that is a really good way of doing of saving discs also what a goofy object
00:55:48
it's so silly looking yeah it's like it sticks out of my bag like a flag pole
00:55:54
and people just go that's a sick man it's one of those things though where when you're playing disc golf people
00:56:00
outside of disc golf you're like I hope they're not making fun of me and that in a bag is almost guaranteeing get you
00:56:05
should paint it gold so that you can call it your golden retriever oh that's that's good that's Innovative
00:56:13
one last fun thing with those is if you have a friend who has one when they're walking you can kind of throw your disc
00:56:19
sideways and see if it'll stick to it when it's sitting on their bag um that's always a fun game yeah that one works incredible
00:56:26
wow that's good yeah what suction you don't miss yep so that's mine cool
00:56:33
awesome thank you very much max distance is the name of the product and the company yeah oh no uh max distance is
00:56:40
wait what does it say underneath there Max max.com where's the
00:56:48
buzzer they have a website all right all right that is good
00:56:54
thank you joh fabulous guys you know one of my
00:57:00
favorite smells is uh it's related incredible transition it's it like like
00:57:06
Golf Course or like amusement park water like the super chlorinated like super
00:57:11
why am I I feel like you're thinking of like mini golf course or golf courses have a different smell oh like ferti
00:57:18
I've never been to a golf course so oh I I've been to a lot of golf courses I mean I think the mini golf course with
00:57:24
the little like water thing can smell like a chlorinated I like mini golf yeah anyway
00:57:31
real quick all right thank you jonno we're going to take one more ad break and then we've got four or five more
00:57:37
people left and then we'll uh decide a winner decide a winner at the end make sure stick around see you
00:57:45
[Music]
00:57:56
all right welcome back we are in the final stretch of co-workers here and I think we're bringing in Alex next that
00:58:03
is correct Alex Wolf we all loaded
00:58:10
oh oh I feel like I know what this oh man is this the Sixers theme
00:58:16
song If it is I'm walking out that would be so funny if that's what I pulled out
00:58:22
all right Alex all right clear favoritism already your item before but tell us what you brought today I brought
00:58:28
a Wilson NBA grade apparently basketball
00:58:34
mhm okay all right I say that's third Sports item third Sports item far we're
00:58:42
an athletic Bunch well actually fourth an attempted athletic right because Jon did the stick oh fourth the stick yeah
00:58:49
attempted the shoes climbing the uh V the lacrosse golf basketball four
00:58:56
wow the basketball itself we do one non-te thing and everyone goes full
00:59:02
jock crazy you would you would you believe we play sports here my camera is heavy and I lift it so that's a sport so
00:59:09
this is so what is it called by the way cuz I I don't actually know it's a Wilson NBA authentic Series so this is
00:59:14
actually one that we had in the studio um that you used for the short with the 3D printed basketball which I would
00:59:21
never bring in here because that is very much Tech correct correct this one is just a regular old basketball now mine
00:59:26
is a little more worn than this but I figured just for the camera make it look pretty I would use the one that we just had hanging out here okay but the 3D
00:59:32
printing one is so cool sure it is but you know it doesn't really fit the assignment or or else I would have brought I think the reason we think it's
00:59:38
cool is the exact reason why it shouldn't be in the tech Detox episode yeah but it yeah it doesn't have
00:59:46
a processor anyway it could also include a hoop or really anything in basketball
00:59:53
cuz it's not Tech and then you just have the entire but yeah this this sort of illustrates that NBA some of the floors
00:59:59
now light up right that's true well yeah there are there are high-tech versions of like every part of basketball only in
01:00:04
the allstar game they did that just for the contests about that new stadium that
01:00:10
um the old Microsoft CEO yeah Clippers yeah they have a new St it's pretty sick that St is crazy wait Alex yes what
01:00:17
makes an NBA authentic basketball different than any basketball I would get at like a dick sport in Goods
01:00:24
branding wait are you serious yeah that's pretty much it like a different material closet or size or really are
01:00:31
you serious this one is mostly just the same size and weight and whatever is an NBA basketball but this one is actually
01:00:37
made for indoor outdoor so it's a little more durable of a material um so but yeah mostly it's just branding no wait I
01:00:45
totally thought there was like a different like grip composite and like no there is a the way that the the way
01:00:51
that the ball is fused together on like the yeah what
01:00:56
I don't know I'm reaching I just there's been a lot of reaching in this while all right so have I
01:01:02
officially been buzzed do I get to do my rant now what is the rant you can keep going well I have one I have one
01:01:08
prepared if you want what's the rant if we decide it's Tech yeah if you if you guys decide it's Tech I have a very
01:01:13
strong rebuttal so it's Tech all right well you have 27 seconds left okay oh my
01:01:19
God all right here everybody look at this image look at wait you should have earlier look at this this is how much
01:01:26
the basketball has changed in 130 or so years barely at all do you
01:01:31
think James naith had an iPhone do you think that he decided to draw this on an
01:01:37
iPad no he didn't he woke up one day and he said I want to be a Hooper and I want
01:01:43
the world to be hoopers 198 James naith invented basketball I
01:01:48
want a hoop the 198 like James that was what wrong with basetball everyone knows
01:01:55
basketball was invented by Jonathan basketball Alex I just have a question David could you read what this says
01:02:01
right there I printed it off.
01:02:07
jpeg picture off a computer resolution 1280 by 760
01:02:14
pixels it is actually really cool how little changed though yeah the old
01:02:19
basket balls look like rugby that looks like sort of football stitching almost basically yeah well I mean that's how
01:02:25
you had to make so that's so that's the question okay back in the day they were stitching it together like this now they're making it
01:02:32
with some sort of fusing okay so you know what's funny famously back in the day 2006 if you look at that basketball
01:02:38
they tried to change the NBA basketball and make it not leather and make it a composite material the players hated
01:02:45
fine woven yeah they made a fine woven basketball yes the players hated it so much that they had to change it
01:02:51
midseason and completely cancel like all of these basketballs that they had I think they just freaking threw them away
01:02:58
um wow so yeah they had to do that so just to illustrate how non-tech basketball is the smallest amount of
01:03:04
tech was added to basketball a composite material and the players revolted you know that is sports a lot that is a lot
01:03:10
of sports I think golf is I keep coming back to golf because I play it but it's interesting because there's a lot of
01:03:15
tech and it kind of went both ways it got really really good really fast all the drivers got bigger all the golf
01:03:21
balls got bouncier and every shot went further and spinni and everybody loved it and then it kept going and now it's
01:03:27
kind of at like this can we go back a little bit moment where everything is too good and too forgiving and too easy
01:03:34
UMES no this is great I I was going to make the point that the 3D printed basketball is just further along this line sure I don't think it's ever going
01:03:41
to actually get used you don't think so no that thing would cut your fingers up dude if you're trying to reach in for steel on that okay but if they had stuff
01:03:47
around it you know I guess but then what's the point it's the isn't the whole point it's quieter and bouncier
01:03:54
for people like me but when you wraps around it's loud again yeah you wrap stuff around it gets loud again cuz then the sound doesn't just go through it
01:04:00
that's the whole thing with that ball is that the reason it's quiet is because the air is just going right through it if you wrap it in something then it's
01:04:06
having got it Alex I have a story to tell you before you go okay uh I got a basketball recently on the street like
01:04:13
it was on the curb someone was getting rid of it and I was playing around with it and you know I'm pretty bad at basketball don't have like the biggest
01:04:18
hands in the world and I was just handling like I was I was James Harden with this thing bro through the legs
01:04:24
behind the back doing stuff I've never been able B to do before and I was like damn this basketball is is soft bro like
01:04:30
I can I am ripping right now and then I came to work the next day and realized it was a child siiz I was about say was
01:04:35
a size five you basketball just a minuscule basketball that is a kindergartener basketball yeah it was it
01:04:41
was really like I'm not talking like Nerf basketball size but you know not
01:04:46
slightly bigger than a palm ball slightly bigger than a grapefruit yeah it was pretty embarrassing to realize I didn't anyway Alex thank you so much for
01:04:53
joining us appreciate it you've been wonderful thank you Alex followed the process very
01:05:00
well number one Joel embiid fan does does everyone get their own theme song uh I'm probably going to have to
01:05:07
reuse a few but for the most part I still have a bunch left we haven't used
01:05:13
uh perfect that one was was perfect he didn't even hear the music and he was doing that's a good point yeah look I
01:05:20
feel like I feel like Center UC Berkeley jamad jocka cam in
01:05:27
76ers you shut the up with that uh no yeah I feel like my my Prime what I
01:05:32
bring to the table as an employee is if you give me an assignment I will always go above and beyond in the silliest way
01:05:39
like coming up with 10 original music cues um but up next we
01:05:44
have how how do we introduce this guy who oh you don't know
01:05:50
who it is no it's either Eric or right no we got three four people left oh we
01:05:55
got Eric rich and miles miles yeah it is it's miles up next is
01:06:01
miles up next needs no introduction he the fastest in the studio both running
01:06:06
and sitting sitting what does that mean oh well he hasn't raced me before I
01:06:14
could be [Music] faster mil
01:06:22
welcome we had a theme song for you it's good and a crowd
01:06:27
apparently uh what have you brought to show us today Okay so we've seen quite a
01:06:32
few items already you know varying in in sizes you know I don't have uh some
01:06:39
really big gargantuan item to show but it does have a lot of heart and also may
01:06:45
have some long-term detrimental effects on my heart in the future but that's neither here nor there MH so no lady and
01:06:53
gentlemen I introduce to you Fair performance nutrition in the prickle
01:06:59
hair flavor it's pre-workout pre-workout oh my God now are we jocks here at this
01:07:07
company everyone bringing Sports and workout stuff yeah now give me a minute
01:07:13
to to try to sell this right so I chose this product not only because it is as
01:07:19
far removed from technology is a lot of the other stuff you've seen today Tot but I want to look at this thing since
01:07:25
it has entered you know my life thanks to resident pod God Adam who is not here
01:07:31
I thought Adam was here he's not here he's sicka drank too much that yeah get
01:07:37
better soon probably because of this get better soon Adam um it has
01:07:44
vastly improved uh my fitness journey in the past three four months I've used it
01:07:49
but I'm not asking you to believe me I'm only asking you to believe the numbers mus which I have
01:07:56
I mean I have some numbers to show you today six six the sh baby all right so I
01:08:05
don't know if you guys want to pass this around you're familiar with like the Apple Fitness
01:08:13
what you can swipe two times to see a February and then a March for just like
01:08:19
mile times right nothing crazy mil times yeah like you can just look at the first mile time okay so in two months you went
01:08:28
down you went from seven minutes to 6:30 yes right or no 7:30 to 6:30 so you
01:08:35
went down one minute right so that is pre bpn oh wow that's super impressive
01:08:43
already if you want to go to the slide after that June July August you see a
01:08:51
substantial Improvement in the mile time 522 and in July wow and then 4:49 in
01:08:59
August jeez so uh you yeah you let me see sorry significantly that heart rate
01:09:06
I didn't look at the heart rate though yeah what is the heart rate going up too yeah a little bit 173 BPM but you got to
01:09:12
do that to get to a 440 mile no yeah 100% I mean I don't think I reached any crazy numbers no yeah 170 and a full
01:09:20
Sprint is in I think if I was like 210 or something like that that'd be a little concerning
01:09:26
uh kids don't do drugs look you can buy this on Amazon I think it's it's you know if it if it was
01:09:33
not supposed to be there is a significant amount of caffeine in it which is probably the biggest thing um
01:09:39
so obviously which is why I caffeine Marquez is making a face making this
01:09:45
every day how much M 300 milligrams when if anyone remembers Dr Mike coming on the show I
01:09:51
think he said you shouldn't consume more than 400 milligrams of right so when I have this that's this is
01:09:57
my only caffeine intake for the day no coffee no celsius Red Bull anything this is it so trying to do it responsibly
01:10:05
that is uh over three cups of coffee like espresso shots right not
01:10:10
just like yeah I think a general cup of coffee is around 80 milligrams so uh I
01:10:15
saw 90 on Google but um but yeah that's no 90 going so to conclude right um you
01:10:22
know my fitness journey is one of the ways I tried to like push myself and
01:10:29
self-improve and so bpn bare nutrition performance it means more than just bare
01:10:35
nutrition performance it means boldly pursuing New Opportunities it means
01:10:40
Jesus Christ not only believing in progress not Perfection mhm you get what
01:10:45
I'm saying is this a presidential run right now I just have one question miles um yeah at the top it says flight is our
01:10:52
pre-workout supplement created to boost your power out put improve focus and increase energy without the crash or
01:10:58
Jitters yeah is that actually true about it I think so I mean you've seen me function day to day I'm not dead I yeah
01:11:07
yeah I mean this is I I took some this morning around 6 o'clock you know no CR
01:11:13
if you really wanted to pitch it to us well you would have taken it right before you joined us yeah I would have been done like two
01:11:20
minut okay no yeah um that's a good vouch then that's a good vouch I didn't see any I I read the entire label I
01:11:27
didn't see any of any Tech or anything there w't any CPUs in the ingredients no no power no onof no
01:11:34
sagon okay right thank you very much miles yeah you're the only person that brought in a controlled substance
01:11:41
so so far so far I think I will be the only one probably um so yeah that's
01:11:48
that's it wait before you go miles where can people find you in our
01:11:53
content cuz you're in videos now quite a fair amount um yeah I mean I've been on like every channel at this point um but
01:12:00
autofocus that's the main one that's where that's where I live that's that's my corner of the internet Studio stuff
01:12:06
as well if you want to see what miles is like on 300 milligrams of caffeine with a Ferrari
01:12:12
V12 you can see both those things together on youtube.com
01:12:18
autofocus all right now get out of my podcast per thank you very much very nice thank you
01:12:28
don't forget don't forget your your daily driver oh can't forget don't worry that's fine M I can't live without that
01:12:35
all right up next we got Eric it's my fault I'm sorry there we go
01:12:42
oh this is oh I like this one this is good music oh welcome this is some like
01:12:50
ACDC kind of stuff we have theme music going if you it's overo Miss
01:12:55
yeah you'll have to find out what it is by watching L you sing
01:13:01
it it's about how went cool should I introduce myself or something no yeah no just straight to what you I wait for
01:13:08
viewers have never met Eric before yeah they haven't met Eric hi faric I am Eric I am miles's personal
01:13:15
trainer um I I mean I turned that ship around real good um and then he was like Eric
01:13:24
if you can if if you're if you can turn me this skinny little sack of bones in
01:13:29
the muscular man I am now I think you could also co-produce for our studio
01:13:34
Channel and so that is that is like what I that's like what I do for like money
01:13:39
but like my soul is in the personal training sure for sure so I have spoons
01:13:44
I'm already terrified spoons this isn't going to be one of those like cupping things right what is that cupping people
01:13:52
like it's like a mass it's like a weird massage does that involve spoons oh yeah it can
01:13:58
yeah oh yeah you guys want to guess what the spoons are for um eating something
01:14:04
at this point now that we all have spoons it feels like you're going to make us eat something that'd be awesome oh no oh no no I should have
01:14:13
seen this coming a mile away okay this wait this is something you use
01:14:18
frequently yeah talked about it every day yeah I've talked about sorry not even open explain explain it I bought a
01:14:25
fresh one just for you guys that's nice of you yeah what is it for those of us that are AIO so for f folks this is Q
01:14:32
Mayo this is by many standards many objective measures as well as subjective
01:14:38
measures the best mayonnaise that money can buy in a blind taste testing in the Chicago Tribune Q Mayo was rated as the
01:14:45
best most delicious mayonnaise by a large wide margin in
01:14:51
their most recent mayonnaise low bar low bar the
01:14:56
mayonnaise um so okay so why do you say it's a low bar well most delicious mayonnaise winner kind of feels like I
01:15:04
don't know there are a lot of mayonnaise out there what you to say uh maybe I
01:15:09
don't appreciate mayonnaise to the level that these people do we going to eat this straight yeah oh yeah we're going
01:15:15
to do mayonnaise straight oh my on the podcast what you want like a chip like yeah I don't know okay I will say uh
01:15:21
Japanese mayo and Japanese barbecue sauce are both Elite this is Japanese Mayo yes yes this is
01:15:27
Japanese Mayo just from a build quality perspective passes passes around that's true you say build quality like bottle
01:15:33
build quality that's not that's not technology that's just it's just a
01:15:39
squeeze bottle so it's like flexible how is this Mayo different from regular Mayo okay so a little bit of History this
01:15:45
company was originally founded in 1919 for its first 5 years it was a salmon packing company in Japan they did like
01:15:51
canned salmon and then the founder who had like live he had turned in the US was like man the US has like Mayo on
01:15:59
Lock and so he went and he created his own take on Japanese Mayo where they
01:16:04
only use the egg yolk so it has this thick nice like custardy kind of texture and then it's mixed with rice rice water
01:16:12
vinegar or rice water to give it this kind of like Umami kind of like almost
01:16:17
Asian flavor it's not necessarily overpowering but it just gives it a little bit more of like this sweetness
01:16:23
it's fun it's just capital f it's fun it is so good I will say all right I'm
01:16:28
going to try some as a non- Mayo enjoyer at first I was like I'm going to do this for the Pod then I held it and my
01:16:36
stomach got a little queasy I'm still going to do it no promises cuz it's
01:16:41
straight mayo and I already just don't like Mayo I will say another cool thing about this is that if you open it
01:16:47
regularly you squirt it out in like a tube shape but if you just open the top
01:16:52
it is star decoration shaped yeah oh this is just it's like so you can do it on a cake why would you need that well
01:17:00
for decoration for fun can decorate with oh wait there is that like Swedish fish
01:17:06
cake isn't there Swedish fish cake they on bake off one time I are you a Mayo
01:17:12
fan I have to take it that thing no I'll take yours for you if you you got we all
01:17:17
got to taste got taste I'm not forcing my boss to eat something he doesn't like I'm not doing star I'm not going to yeah
01:17:24
I'm not that much just do a dab I'll put a little bit on this spoon and try you hot I believe in the Mayo world it's
01:17:30
referred to as a dollop a dollop I thought that was the sour cream that is
01:17:35
the sour cream they're the same thing there you go see just a dollop or
01:17:41
a dab or whatever that that's less a I don't know the last dab I'd rather do the last dab how about we all eat it
01:17:47
together yeah you guys are whimp I almost put it on the button not going to lie that smells pretty good
01:17:52
honestly kind of smells like salt and vinegar chip like the things you don't like about Mayo is it's cuz it's like
01:17:58
all mass-produced Factory stuff you know it's not made with love right assuming that's mass produced you know and I oh
01:18:05
yeah totally is 100% but it's like but it's like but it's got love in it but there's certain ingredients of a
01:18:12
sandwiches for example that are like well it's a condiment basically we're eating a condiment I to feel about this they're never like Standalone if this a
01:18:18
chip I would feel better all right it's on a spoon I feel like such a wuss being like I don't want to eat Mayo
01:18:25
like one of the most common condiments ever all right three two
01:18:34
one the only one talk about it's definitely much better than regular
01:18:40
mayonnaise Eric wins from what I remember of mayo in the past it is better than Mayo I still did not like
01:18:45
eating it alone I didn't like eating it alone I also think for the sub enjoyers
01:18:51
oil and vinegar is better than Mayo in everywhere possible why do you say that you can't have oil vinegar
01:18:59
much Mayo I don't you don't even need meat the fact that we all just ate worn
01:19:06
mayo and no one complained I think speaks volumes to how good that is you didn't get to me yet yeah just I look next time I buy
01:19:14
Mayo I'm never going to I will buy QP mayonnaise because this is it seems great great engineering on the package
01:19:22
um just one quick question question uh would you say that packaging of it is
01:19:27
separate in like an interesting way from other Mayo packaging in any way not when you're holding the button like that just
01:19:34
curious just curious I before you hit that button I need you to explain the logic of how this is techn this is
01:19:40
plastic this is just cool plastic uhhuh so it's not different than any other Mayo packaging you would say you're not
01:19:47
answering my question I'm just curious you're not answering my question I'm not I'm not okay so it's the same all right
01:19:53
cuz I see it says easy squeeze tube there and I just feel like that might be like a distinguishing feature of this
01:19:59
Innovative but Innovative isn't always technology right wasn't that the decision we made yeah this is well built
01:20:05
but if okay if you're going to buzz this because it's wellb built everyone else needs to be buzzed that's totally fair
01:20:10
we have attempted to buzz Everyone by the way that's kind of a goal I am going to win on technicalities Fair okay tech
01:20:18
tech techn on whatch technology what no the two-way
01:20:24
cap is innovative the squeezy the squeezy star interesting the star shape yeah it's all packaged it's Japanese
01:20:31
engineering on an American Classic this is like Sony but but not techology why there a baby cuz it's freaking adorable
01:20:39
no because Q the QB brand is based on a line of dolls from the 30s and 40s called called Q dolls um that's like the
01:20:46
logo for the company too careful with that careful oh all right time for you
01:20:52
to get out of here thank you Eric
01:20:59
at first that sounds like the friend song ACDC bro oh am I
01:21:06
right all right next up is another new face for podcast listeners it's Rich
01:21:12
welcome [Music] Rich oh some late night stuff oh yeah
01:21:21
join us yeah welcome there a theme song oh baby okay oh theme song's over but
01:21:28
yes welcome to the Pod Rich hi welcome okay well I see you have a backpack get close that is the item in the backpack
01:21:34
or is it inside the backpack it's inside the backpack show us what you brought Rich well my friends I would like to
01:21:40
preface this is something we all love are you sure well yeah we'll see about that if you do not love this you see
01:21:47
that wow no pressure rich is from La if he pulls out In-N-Out right now I have
01:21:52
bad taste can Eric just ate a spoonful of mayonnaise I would eat cold In-N-Out from a 6-hour flight across country
01:21:58
before I eat another spoon of mayonnaise I'm glad you said that no way no way so I did not bring in it out next best
01:22:05
thing it's an in- out t-shirt okay with the menu that's only a tenth of the men
01:22:11
that's technology right there can I put this on yes okay absolutely but it is it is only a tenth
01:22:18
of the menu that's true is not that I mean there's a secret the menu is pretty small the secret menu is and then
01:22:25
there's the rest of the In-N-Out menu which is the stuff that you learn about after you go for the first time that is
01:22:31
also like as much stuff yeah it always goes you're not from California to go to in andout you talk to someone in
01:22:36
California you're like it wasn't that good and then the person in California goes bro it's cuz you don't know about the thing and this is I'm from
01:22:44
California you don't know about the thing that no one told you about that's not down anywhere like you're so stupid
01:22:49
you ordered off the menu no bro locals only bro stay off my we
01:22:55
so I would like to know everyone's in and out order okay double double animal style animal fries with chopped chilies
01:23:00
on the burger so I recently switched to one double double animal style with chopped
01:23:07
chilies on the burger a single cheeseburger with grilled onions and then animal style fries good Lord I
01:23:13
think mine's the same as El's but no tomato cuz I hate Tomatoes I get a cheeseburger with grilled onions so do
01:23:20
you guys know you can get extra toppings yeah but you know there's like no limit yeah no limit so you can go like extra
01:23:27
extra extra didn't they impose like a 10 Patty
01:23:32
limit no something no in high school when I was in band we
01:23:37
would stop it in and out on the way to band competitions and high school kids want to impress each other in the
01:23:43
dumbest ways possible and Inn out at least at the time it was $1 per Patty that you wanted to add extra so kids
01:23:50
would do like 20 by 20s Jesus oh are you saying that's a 20 Patty Burger yes with
01:23:57
20 slices of cheese yeah oh my and it would just get obnoxious and I think they might have imposed a limit but I'm
01:24:03
not sure I mean if you're doing a 20 x 20 that's kind of insane right yeah yeah yeah yeah wait what's your what's
01:24:10
yourorder Rich yeah uh double double it depends on the mood right so double
01:24:15
double extra extra grilled onions extra raw onions oh I do love raw onions and
01:24:21
then animal style fries two packets of spread yeah you get the spread you give
01:24:28
them as packets yeah and you can just add them on after that's a pro very nice that is a per what mood was that for uh
01:24:35
that's my regular order usually I will swap out fruit protein stuff I'm trying to eat a little healthier what if you're
01:24:40
angry 4X4 four 4x4 after a good workout yeah I I have gifts for everyone oh gift
01:24:48
what are you trying to win us over or something absolutely okay wish surprised yeah I brought stickers for everyone
01:24:55
from in and out a if there's any that you like and that is not here I will bring it for you next time wow I rich
01:25:02
wow these are sick I I recently became so I have a water bottle covered in
01:25:08
stickers and I recently ran out of room on the water bottle for stickers okay
01:25:13
and I was in Australia and I got a sticker and for the first time I just
01:25:19
overlapped sticker and just put it right on top of two other stickers and that is just open the door for a ton of new
01:25:25
sticker placements on my water bottle so this is this one right here is going on my water bottle for sure classic yeah
01:25:32
this is fire I'm bringing more stickers next time I go back to California yeah I didn't know you could get these are they
01:25:37
free Inn out Company Store Baldwin Park California oh we passed through there once when I was on a way to a band
01:25:45
competition so to be clear the item you're presenting is the T-shirt yeah but it's more of the IDE
01:25:51
it's the vibe I think it's the spirit the spirit is the food the experience the
01:25:57
stickers the In-N-Out Vibes the secret menu what do you think allowed them to be so quick have no delay not freeze
01:26:05
their no no we're not I'm defending rich rich calian we're not we're not I was
01:26:11
trying to think of how to talk from California yeah but you didn't know about the spread packets I'm just kidding okay um Rich yes this was
01:26:19
fantastic yeah thank you very much the bribe will influence my decision oh I would like to add I would like to
01:26:26
buy you all in and out next time we're in California oh That's too nice you don't need to do that this heavily
01:26:32
influencing everyone should know that if you noticed in the past few months that the studio Channel looks really good is
01:26:39
shot rich with an Artistic Touch oh thank you that's rich me and Eric you
01:26:45
guys you guys are doing a awesome job so far we're having a great time it's a lot of cool all right thank you very much
01:26:51
for having me thanks for coming on thank you rich [Music]
01:27:01
want any of these I might steal this one without further Ado I would like to welcome studio production coordinator
01:27:09
new studio I don't know what producer producer amazing Soul Harper oh oh my
01:27:16
god dog it's not a dog oh is it a dog bed wait how are they going to get that
01:27:22
in here is it a bean bag it's those huge Bean chair huge bag chair okay I will need to test this to
01:27:30
confirm this I hope this does not rip in the corner of this Frame is incredible
01:27:36
what's going on I was going to say like why do we need that camera to record but now I'm
01:27:43
like no actually that's the perfect camera right now we're doing so Welling so great I can't tell if they're halfway
01:27:49
through of the way oh oh my goodness it's you might have to pick it up and lift it
01:27:57
over I think they practiced this morning when did when was this in this this is half of the office in size how did you
01:28:04
get this here the in your car I saw a moment when I was at my desk Harper was
01:28:09
like John O miles can I borrow you and I was like oh no oh hold on just watch that camera
01:28:16
right there and okay we have to sit in it while you're on the podcast oh yeah
01:28:21
works really well right okay Harper marowski
01:28:28
everybody smoothest entrance so far FR is great cuz it really like like it just
01:28:35
becomes can we push your mic yeah forward to mean I look like I'm incredibly comfortable and you guys are in like well this frame has a lot of
01:28:43
head room I'll say um okay Harper what did you what did you bring to show us today what is this so sorry about
01:28:51
that so I brought um a love sack which is basically like a giant bean bag but
01:28:57
instead of beans it's like cut up memory foam yeah so is it made by the bean
01:29:03
52s cut up memory memory foam interesting memory I think that's what it is memory I'll be honest I've never
01:29:09
cut it open and looked inside but we bought this instead of a couch for our like gaming area uh and uh it's the best
01:29:16
purchase we've made uh it's like I'm more jealous they have a gaming area I mean like by that I mean you know where
01:29:22
we put like gaming area the the where we like put our Xbox like yeah
01:29:29
can you imagine also direct Xbox also a PlayStation um but like yeah no it kind
01:29:35
of it can transform into anything it feels like you're sleeping on a cloud and most I mean anything it can
01:29:40
transform it to a dinosaur um but like more importantly uh if it's not in the
01:29:45
context of this room um you can like run and dive into it and it's awesome oh
01:29:51
yeah I mean I would it looks I kind of want to try that so so it's
01:29:57
kind of hard even for video listeners to appreciate the size of this uh chair it's really big I would say that I can't
01:30:04
tell how big of a car I would need to bring it it yeah I'm so intrigued by how you got this how did you get it here how
01:30:10
did you get this in your so first of all I'm just going to blame Ellis for me actually doing this I said this as a joke and he was like but you should do
01:30:15
that okay um it took uh we have a shop back so we put it into a vacuum sealed
01:30:21
bag shop backed it then transported it and then put the cover on holy crap oh
01:30:26
my goodness that's impressive I appreciate the dedication wait that is a
01:30:31
shop a shop like a vacuum vacuum sealing I also brought the shop back with me in
01:30:37
my car so I can also bring this home right right that's a good point see I would have maybe had the foresight to
01:30:43
you know put it in that and I never would have brought it here to get it back home yeah my husband was like what
01:30:49
are the odds that you actually bring this home tonight and I was like hi I think or maybe becomes a part of the
01:30:54
office or I get to convince you guys that we need this in the office I would like to dive into it it may be stuck in
01:31:00
this um sure I would like to at least sit in in this segment if I'm being
01:31:06
honest in order to okay I can we sit in together I would like to also there it
01:31:12
looks like there's room it is it is made to be at least for two adults okay oh my God so much I will mention that I also
01:31:20
have har one of these no no it's okay ones and it is very comfortable you have
01:31:27
one of these I do have one of these you do wait really yes how have we never discussed that we both have love sex so
01:31:32
mine's not nearly as big but what I've noticed about it is if you sit in it in
01:31:37
the same way over and over again the memory foam kind of like piles into the corners of it and it becomes like the
01:31:43
shape of the person who sits there all the time so it when I sit down it's like it doesn't move it just like feels like
01:31:48
a chair but if I ever want to like restructure it I have to like shake it out and like move
01:31:54
yeah roll it and then it's whatever you want yeah it like re it remakes itself into a giant pillowy like Cloud you have
01:32:01
a dog I do not have a dog no this smells really good we did just wash this cuz we
01:32:06
just moved um but yeah this is the Love Sack when we get it out into like the office area you guys can take a running jump at
01:32:12
it and enjoy that I will do that I'll be honest um my 2-year-old nephew also loves doing that it's I think that might
01:32:20
be a universal uh Human Experience Maybe even dogs too I feel like anyone would
01:32:26
enjoy running and jumping into this right it's I mean it's like if you ever want to jump into a pillow or jump into a cloud like this is what I assume is
01:32:32
the closest experience to that I think the next waveform studio will just be a bunch of those with microphones hanging
01:32:39
from the ceiling just all hanging out you said earlier it could turn into
01:32:44
anything I I did mean it I can let me let me like add an addendum to that sure
01:32:50
I'm more so meant like you could shape it around yourself in any way so that if you want wanted to take a nap in it great if you wanted to sit in it more
01:32:56
like a chair you can if you wanted to sit in it in like a group sort of like modular type of sounds that having that
01:33:03
I would say Innovative I don't know about that I think more so just like it's like Clay is Clay Innovative Clay
01:33:09
is one of the most ancient materials that's a that's a great deflection yeah
01:33:15
I can see that okay it's like clay yeah moldable moldable exactly I don't think Innovative I think moldable moldable
01:33:22
okay funny cuz love sack does make a couch with a speaker now I'm pretty sure my husband keeps on trying to convince me to buy that and I'm putting the K is
01:33:29
a brand like Kleenex yeah love sack is like a yeah has like subwoofer in one of
01:33:35
the legs of the sofa or whatever yeah they got popular with this but now they make couches that are fairly popular and
01:33:41
super modu and have speakers in them I found out also today that Cy is a brand
01:33:46
I thought it was just the style of mayo oh I heard you guys ate Mayo yeah yeah it wasn't the best experience that one's
01:33:52
not getting my vote your dish but I did do it speaking of which guys I think it
01:33:58
is time you guys don't want just leave this in here so you can enjoy it while I leave we might need some extra testing
01:34:05
until we're yeah I'm not Harper as someone who's now gotten that in and out of here twice today um we're going to
01:34:11
leave it in here great I love how I started the segment out of breath because of that too okay thank you very much much you
01:34:20
Harper be careful thanks Harper thank you bye all right friends time to be
01:34:26
mean time oh marz is immediately going into the go on you don't have to wait for me
01:34:33
Oh I thought you said come on like you wanted us to join you so we could vote come on I'm just the water's warm this
01:34:40
is okay so I think to wrap this episode up the four of us should vote on or
01:34:47
should we collaborate on who we think is the collective winner or should we all four write it down on a whiteboard and
01:34:54
if so what what is like what are we voting on about I think the the vote should be the ratio of like the most
01:35:01
impressive of like I might want to use that thing slash it gets points deducted
01:35:07
for every step closer to being technological that it is yeah I think that's the easiest way I
01:35:14
guess like I I see your point is you brought in something extremely Niche so did Tim yeah those are very Niche
01:35:21
products even very Co like J is cool but I don't play Frisbee yeah that's true
01:35:27
but I don't think that it should be based around whether we would use it I think I I think you should be how useful
01:35:33
is it live in the moment even though it has no technology live in the head space of who might use it I would like to give
01:35:41
my vote for best best bring I'm not voting for The Piano
01:35:48
well I think I think I'm gonna have to go with Brandon you know honorable mention to Eric that was the highlight
01:35:54
of my morning so far a quick little um but no I disabled your button we're done
01:36:00
with that it's it's Ellis's turn baby um in fact I do this to you
01:36:07
wow trip uh Welcome to My Kingdom um yeah I like Brandon I I
01:36:15
really liked uh how can I get a refresher notebook Brandon was the dot
01:36:20
notebook no like yeah the whole 10 we all we had a bunch let me pull out my list of my notes Here Yeah I would like
01:36:25
a I'd like a two-word uh name for each of them I remember miles had pre-or two
01:36:31
ready yeah yeah Tim foot thing yep Vin lacrosse stick Brandon DOT book
01:36:38
definitely uh Maria foot thing for sure jonno stick stick sticky sticky stick
01:36:44
sticky stick long sticks orange ball I think basketball is one word uh
01:36:51
miles not drugs Go Juice Go Eric Q Mayo Rich best burger Harper
01:37:02
Love Sack wow okay I would say I if Rich literally pulled out a double double
01:37:07
especially since two days ago we told people about this and we're in New Jersey he'd be instant winner age but I
01:37:14
think the T-shirt aspect of it while the bribes helped the spirit was I I did
01:37:19
like the spirit of like the thing that makes me happy that's not Tech is in and out I really get that In-N-Out would
01:37:25
have been an instant win the spirit of In-N-Out is still strong enough to almost be at the top of my list but I don't think I can give that the win my
01:37:31
vote is to jono's stick stick sticky stick because it is something that he
01:37:38
uses very frequently that is not something that everyone has so it's useful and it's not technology and he
01:37:45
uses it a lot yeah I would say he did he did have the most concretely useful techless thing with the exception of
01:37:51
maybe Andrew's Lo hand yeah I I don't think I will say I do think David's camera Not only
01:37:59
was like the most interesting thing even as someone who doesn't use cameras
01:38:06
but I was expecting to buzz it a bunch of times and that never got to that
01:38:11
point so I was impressed by that aspect of it whether that means it's the winner or not I think it
01:38:16
was really cool and I was so ready to buzz the hell out of you but you picked
01:38:22
the perfect camera to do it the hierarchy in my head I'm considering is I'm trying to guess how often each
01:38:29
person uses the thing that they presented and I think the top of the list aside from the weights is possibly
01:38:38
miles and possibly Andrew's pan and possibly Harper's Love Sack how often
01:38:45
they use it yeah it's kind of hard not to vote for the Love Sack it was super comfortable yeah so that's that's where
01:38:52
my head is at and obviously not being Tech I think those you know don't you use those weights a lot my most likely
01:38:59
to buy would be the weights or the Love Sack I think I probably going to eventually buy those weights sounds like
01:39:06
SS like rich rich and Harper are the two that we all mentioned as like I don't
01:39:12
know you don't know we decide on jonno is my my personal winner I think jonno I
01:39:18
could I would feel comfortable giving it to jonno it's it's useful it's definitively not
01:39:24
those 3D printed bits cuz here's my thing here's my thing right as much as you know I would love to win on whatever
01:39:30
my camera is the thing that I do right jonno the thing that he does is the
01:39:36
Frisbee but this is an accessory that he uses a lot and isn't
01:39:41
even technological I think that there is something to that where it's like it's an optional accessory that is very
01:39:47
interesting and cool um and it's not the main thing cuz you know you know Vin brought in the
01:39:52
lacrosse that's the thing Tim brought in the climbing shoes it's it's not really it's
01:39:58
kind of part no I see what you mean is like you're saying a lot of people brought in sports things but they basically just brought in the
01:40:06
sportball brought in an accessory and generally accessories to sports is where we start getting into the tech part and
01:40:12
she brought in a non-tech version I like that explanation I'm going with Brandon Ellis picks Brandon's dotted
01:40:19
notebooks I pick jonno jono's long stick sticky stick long sticky stick with
01:40:26
carbon fiber I'm going to go to the bean bag Harper I think I would buy that that
01:40:31
you think I'd pick the disc golf thing I thought you're going to pick my camera sorry I'm also picking the bean bag
01:40:39
killer all right two for the Bean back killer There It Is Well thank you all
01:40:45

01:40:51

01:40:58
amount of work in an extremely short amount of time to get this done for for everyone here um poor planning on our
01:41:04
part super busy month we decid we thought of this on Monday pretty much uh I pitched it Ellis was like this is
01:41:10
awesome and did a ton of work extra camera angles and everything to get this done and Adam got sick so he really had
01:41:15
