MKBHD Bought and Unboxed an Original $40,000 iPhone

April 21, 2023 / 01:16:27

This episode covers the unboxing of a sealed first-generation iPhone, the latest Spotify redesign, and a live-streaming mishap with Netflix's "Love is Blind" reunion. Hosts Marquez Brownlee and Andrew Edwards discuss their experiences with these topics.

Marquez and Andrew share their excitement about winning an auction for an unopened 2007 first-gen iPhone, which they purchased for $40,000. They detail the auction process, the challenges of verifying the phone's authenticity, and their thoughts on the iPhone's historical significance.

The conversation shifts to Spotify's new redesign, which has received mixed reactions from users. Andrew expresses frustration over the changes, likening it to TikTok's influence on music streaming.

Finally, the hosts discuss the technical difficulties surrounding Netflix's live reunion for "Love is Blind," which was delayed and plagued by audio issues. They reflect on the challenges of live streaming and the expectations placed on major platforms like Netflix.

TL;DR

Marquez and Andrew unbox a sealed first-gen iPhone, critique Spotify's redesign, and discuss Netflix's live reunion mishap.

00:00:01
[Music] Hey, what is up people of the internet?
00:00:06
Welcome back to another episode of the Waveform Podcast. We're your hosts. I'm Marquez. I'm Andrew. And David's not here today. This week he
00:00:14
is out uh taking some beautiful pictures in Iceland. So, we'll just be Andrew and I for this episode. He'll be back. We're
00:00:20
going to maybe try to get him in on the trivia questions if we can somehow. We're going to try and do it
00:00:25
live. If it's not live, then it was after cuz Iceland might not have the best service. Yeah, I think the plan will be after we
00:00:31
do our trivia. We'll uh FaceTime him or something and see what his answers would have been. Either way, uh we do have a lot to talk
00:00:38
about this week, but it is sort of in the form of like a bunch of little tidbits, not nothing like gigantic, no
00:00:44
major stories. By the time you see this podcast, we do have one particularly exciting video out that I want to talk
00:00:49
about, but the rest is like this is like a mega lightning round, basically. Essentially, I found I realized I like
00:00:55
wrote down all these really fun headlines from this week, but none of them feel like more than 10 minutes of conversation. So, I have some some thoughts and some hot
00:01:01
takes, but we can I put I put all of them in a hat. Actually, it's like six headlines and one Marquez rant in this hat that we
00:01:08
will pick out of, and you'll know which one's the rant when we get there. Yes. Uh, but first, we should uh we should talk about the iPhone. We should talk
00:01:14
about the OG iPhone. This was maybe the most spur-of the- moment ridiculous thing we've done in a long time,
00:01:20
but it happened. And you guys, now that you're seeing this live, already know exactly what I'm talking about, which was
00:01:26
audio might be a little early. Audio might not know. That's fair. Oh, don't know when the video is going to go live, but audio
00:01:32
listeners might be getting a sneak peek at this. So, shh, quiet. Don't tell anyone. Keep it quiet. Or maybe maybe get your
00:01:39
articles ready now before the video comes out. Um, but we did end up winning an auction for and unboxing an unopened
00:01:49
sealed 2007 first gen iPhone. Now, that doesn't
00:01:56
sound all that crazy until you really realize what that means, which is, okay, somebody at back in 2007 had to have
00:02:02
bought that phone, never even took it out the plastic wrap and saved it and kept it in pristine condition for 16
00:02:10
years. as good. I mean, I say pristine condition, but as good as it could be. To be fair, the pristine aspect of it,
00:02:15
it wasn't. The box had some dents. The plastic wrap had like a couple small rips, not enough to get anything out,
00:02:21
but was like dirty, which actually made me feel more confident that it was the real deal. It's authenticity. Yeah. Okay. So, this
00:02:27
is this was the challenge really of this entire project was if you remember when we did the reviewing every single iPhone
00:02:34
video, that was actually kind of a big challenge. you you basically took this head on, which is like we need to have a
00:02:39
working version of every single iPhone that's ever been made to appropriately review it. And the further back you go,
00:02:45
the harder that gets. Finding a working iPhone 7 was like not that hard. Working iPhone 6, plenty of them out there.
00:02:52
Working iPhone 3GS, you know, that's starting to get kind of tough. Most of
00:02:57
them have stopped working. They've conked out. They've gotten beat up. Like people are just selling them for parts
00:03:02
or whatever. You go all the way back to the original iPhone and it was a genuine question of like when we take this out
00:03:07
the box, this is a 14y old phone at the time, will it even work? Yeah. Uh and we did manage to get some pretty
00:03:14
beat up original iPhones, but that they'd still turn on and still work and could connect cuz back then to
00:03:21
activate a phone you had to connect it to iTunes, right? Um or maybe not back then, but now like it has to connect to iTunes or it won't
00:03:27
do anything. Yeah. So these are phones that people had like used for a couple years and then moved on but kept the phone. So
00:03:33
they had software updates on them. They had probably iOS 3.0 or something like that by the time they retired, but they
00:03:38
still worked. And so that I ended up I think those were like a hundred bucks or something like that. Also, to be fair, back then that was a
00:03:44
pain in the neck, but every Pixel or uh Google phone video was way harder with
00:03:50
all the different Androids and and all the different oh my god cable connectors. Although the iPhone one's the most I've ever used a
00:03:56
30 pin in my life. As someone who didn't own an iPhone or iPod, I never thought I'd use a 30 pin connector that often.
00:04:03
They're terrible. They're Yeah, there's a reason they moved on pretty quick. But, uh, this the fun story was like
00:04:08
this wasn't like any normal buying process. Like going on eBay and buying a $100 original iPhone is one thing, but
00:04:15
if you want to go and find an unopened sealed original iPhone, that's actually
00:04:20
much more along the lines of like a an antique, like a creat like a how would you like a collector's item basically.
00:04:27
Uh, and so people are aiming to sort of like trade these like like Pokemon cards. Like they don't really want to
00:04:32
open them and use them. They just want to trade them and see what the value turns into someday. And I really liked
00:04:38
how you said it in the video that every time one of these gets sold, I guess it doesn't totally, but like it gets rarer
00:04:44
and rarer. Yeah. Especially if you're like us and open it because then it doesn't get sold again and then there
00:04:49
are less of them in the world and and the value is even higher for the ones that are remaining but lower for
00:04:54
the ones that get opened. So here's the story of how it came to happen. I saw an article uh about how there was an
00:05:01
unopened original iPhone. This is something that been in the back of our heads for a while. We want to see what that experience would be like. There's
00:05:07
an unopened original iPhone on an auction site and the starting bid is
00:05:12
$32,000. Boom. Now, that's a lot. That seems absurd.
00:05:19
It does. But in very recent history, before this headline came up, uh the original iPhone
00:05:25
had gone for a couple of record numbers. It had gone for like 40,000, 50,000, 60
00:05:31
plus,000 for an unopened original iPhone. And the air quotes problem with
00:05:37
trying to buy an unopened original iPhone is there are so rare that people are willing to fake it to make that type
00:05:42
of money. And so if you go on eBay and try to buy an unopened original iPhone and pay $50,000 for it, often you will
00:05:49
see people getting scammed and buying used iPhones that have been like resealed. And you can actually re-shrink
00:05:55
wrap a box. So, if you have a good enough looking box, you can re-shrink wrap it and maybe a collector will buy
00:06:01
it and never open it. And he thinks he got what he was supposed to. It happened to everything Apple Pro. He has a video on it. I don't know how much
00:06:06
he paid, but yeah, he opened it and the seal was all off. All the accessories had no plastic on them and he
00:06:11
immediately realized the look on his face was like, "Oh, I've I got got and that happens to a lot of people who try this." So, here's what
00:06:18
made this one a little bit more interesting. Uh, is this isn't just like an auction site like eBay.com. This was
00:06:24
uh I think it's called write auction and I I clicked the article and I I didn't have any intentions of doing anything
00:06:30
about it, but I I clicked the link to the auction site and it's a it's like a live streaming like a real in-person
00:06:37
auction. Like a guy with a gavl who's like, "All right, $5,000 for the first item. Oh, $5,500 in the front row. Do we
00:06:43
have Oh, we have 6,000 on the phone. All right, guy in the front row. You're bidding against someone on the phone. Do you have 7,000 from you?$8,500." And it
00:06:48
just keeps going. And that's like happening on a live stream video. I was like, "Whoa, this is this is pretty
00:06:53
intense." Uh, and one of the items in this like lineup that they had for that
00:06:59
day was a sealed original iPhone. Yeah. That was like x-rayed to show that everything was inside. Still doesn't
00:07:05
necessarily prove that it's real. Like, we're not in the clear yet. Yeah. It they could put all the stuff back in. It could be a different phone.
00:07:11
It's hard to tell from an X-ray. Um, it could have been opened. It could have been resealed like you said, but yeah, there at least was X-ray of inside to
00:07:18
show that everything was there. There was something to it that felt a little more legit than just like eBay, right?
00:07:23
Maybe the 20% um sellers fee or whatever that it gets taxed on top of whatever you pay.
00:07:29
So, here's how it went. So, the starting bid was $32,000. Wait, wait, can I back up one more second? I just think this is a funny
00:07:35
part of the story. So, on the website, it goes live at like 12 and I think you
00:07:41
had to be home for like a plumber or something. So, we're like, "Okay, it's starting at item number 200. The iPhone
00:07:48
is item number 304. Oh, no. It It was starting in the 100s and iPhone was 203.
00:07:54
Okay. So, was Okay. Yeah. 100's 203. Oh, yeah. 203. Right. So, we see that as like, well, if they're
00:08:00
going to take a couple minutes for each of these, you definitely have time to go home. We'll keep an eye on this here just in case, but like you made the
00:08:06
account. You have to make this bid. Yep. Go home and get home before you can do this. But like the way it lines up on
00:08:12
the bottom is you can only see the next kind of 10. Mhm. So, it's going through going through.
00:08:17
They'reing all kinds of weird stuff. Lamps, old furniture. And by the way, they're going for like tens of thousands
00:08:24
of dollars, like antique super good condition old furniture. Can I get 10,000 on this stool in the front row?
00:08:30
I'm like, whoa, this is pretty serious. I was actually driving live streaming just like I was entertained by the audio
00:08:38
of like, yes, this random stool just went for $8,000. Yeah. And and then all of a sudden I
00:08:44
think I have plenty of time and Jonno just types in like the Slack. Well, also Jonno's watching this because the first
00:08:49
thing we thought of, how much are we willing to pay for this? And Jonno, please find a sponsor for this video because we need to be able to pay for
00:08:55
this. Um, you'll find out if we did later or not. Um, but uh, and then Jonno just goes,
00:09:02
"It's up way sooner than we thought." Apparently, it went from 1 to 150 and
00:09:07
then immediately to 200. 200. So now at this point, I'm in the car. I'm driving. And the way they've
00:09:14
listed it on the site is you can set a pre-start bid, and you can actually go
00:09:20
up from there if you want, but the minimum bid was 32,000. And I made an account at the studio, signed up, put
00:09:27
the shipping information in and everything, and I put in the bid for 32,000. I thought that's a pretty good deal. But right underneath it, it says
00:09:34
estimated 40 to 60,000. Yeah. Sellers fees. And so every one of these auctions goes by and immediately
00:09:40
it like doubles in price and it starts going way up from there. So I was like, we need a sponsor to be ready for this one. Um, it jumps up to 200. I am
00:09:48
nowhere near home. Now I see the UI on my phone and there's like a little slider for every item where you can like
00:09:54
bid online and and participate. I haven't done that cuz I've been driving, but now that they just jumped up to 200,
00:10:00
they're about to get to the iPhone while I'm driving and I I need to not lose this auction. If it goes up a little
00:10:06
bit, I can be okay with it. So, literally, I pull over. They do auction 2011. They're like, "Here's a stool.
00:10:12
$7,000. 7500 in the front. 8,000. We got 8,500 online. 9,000 in the front row. Going
00:10:18
once, going twice. 9,000. 9500. Oh, we got another 95." And they they're doing that thing. And I'm like starting to get
00:10:24
a little nervous. I'm like, "Okay, this is really happening." They get to 203.
00:10:29
He pulls it up. All right. We've got this pristine condition, brand new unopened iPhone original from lot 203.
00:10:38
We have a starting online bid of 32,000,
00:10:44
going once, going twice, sold to the online bidder.
00:10:49
Moving on, and it just was over. Immediately it was just over. And I was like, I think I just won. I don't know
00:10:55
what just happened, but I think that worked. It actually just went like for the lowest possible price.
00:11:01
I think the Slack message was pulled over on the side of the road and then like two minutes later, easy,
00:11:07
easy money, easy. Jonno, the sponsor now knows exactly what we got to do. Um,
00:11:13
yeah, that's that's really all that happened and they just moved right on to the next lamp. Yeah.
00:11:18
So, so we got it. We did. I also have to say, you know, all those times we say
00:11:25
like Marquez, what would you do if you weren't a tech reviewer? auctioneer. You You're made for it. Really?
00:11:30
You've You seem to really enjoy doing the thing for all of the stories. I was totally expecting you to mess it
00:11:36
up, too, and you didn't. You just You haven't messed it up. 8,000 in the front. So, auctioneer. There we go. It is uh it
00:11:42
is pretty pretty wild seeing the guy sort of like juggle all the things going on. There's like people on the phone, people in person, people online.
00:11:50
Uh so yeah, we won. My account won. Now I have to figure out
00:11:55
how does this work? How to get it here. How to get it here. This is an eBay. This auction house was in Chicago
00:12:02
and it turns out I had the shipping address for the studio here and
00:12:08
the the options were actually So, if any of you have ever bought a $7,000 lamp on
00:12:14
an auction site, you already know how this goes. But basically, uh they give you a couple quotes for shipping and
00:12:19
they will literally ship it to you. They will ship a $40,000 unopened iPhone or whatever you bought. they'll ship it to
00:12:25
you or you can pick it up. We actually had Miles like around
00:12:30
Chicago like for the couple days after the auction. We were like, "Oh, maybe Miles can just like pick it up while
00:12:36
he's there. It's the auction houses in Chicago." And I was told, "Sure, you can do that if you want, but Chicago has a
00:12:42
10.25% city tax. And so if you want to do the pickup option, that will mean that the transaction happened in
00:12:49
Chicago, which means we need to charge you $2,000 more to satisfy that city tax
00:12:55
versus New Jerseyy's like 7% sales tax. I'm just picturing Miles walking up with like a briefcase of 2,000, dropping it
00:13:02
on the table rubber banded. Miles would have been perfect for that cuz he's jacked.
00:13:08
Like picture Marquez is Brown Marquez Brownley's like associate comes to pick. It's like miles in a suit with a
00:13:14
briefcase. That would have been kind of sick actually, but it also would have been $2,000 extra dollars. So instead, I got
00:13:20
a shipping quote and it was $1,800. And so we did that. And so literally the UPS
00:13:26
guy who's dropped off like B&H packages and random stuff before like comes to the door with a 40 lb wooden crate and
00:13:33
we're like, I think that's the iPhone. It was extremely well packaged.
00:13:38
You stood on top of it, which also scared me. It was It was well packaged to the point where it was like
00:13:44
1x4s in a box. Yeah. Yeah. They put it in a box in a box in a box in a crate. And that crate was
00:13:50
designed so that it could withstand the classic uh abuse that a normal delivery
00:13:55
is susceptible to go through. Big Raiders of the Lost Arc vibes. Yeah, it was pretty incredible. Um we
00:14:02
got that power drill. We took it apart. We opened up the iPhone. We broke the seal. It had a special sticker that we
00:14:08
are not sure. Uh, actually I do now have an answer. Wait, really? Yeah. This is news to me.
00:14:14
This is um for anyone wondering, there's a red sticker on it that just says lucky you and the white Apple logo on a red
00:14:21
sticker. I also thought it was very interesting that like that sticker could be sold right now and there's zero design
00:14:27
language changes from Apple, whatever it would look it would
00:14:32
fit perfectly now. Yeah. Yeah. We uh we have been able to confirm that that was an Apple retail
00:14:37
sticker that they put on some iPhones around the holiday season. Around the holidays. Yeah. Cool. So, kind of a random fun fact that made
00:14:44
it a little bit more rare technically, but didn't really mean anything. But this was the original iPhone, 8 gigs in
00:14:50
the box. You can check out the full video for uh the the full unboxing experience. I was kind of impressed and
00:14:56
surprised by a couple things. The accessories that it came with, I didn't remember. The dock is cool. the doc that it came
00:15:02
with here is the iPhone itself. It is in perfect condition and it confirmed uh
00:15:08
won't get past the iTunes screen because it's still on iOS 1.0. Yeah, that that kind of leads to like another fun part of the story that's not
00:15:15
told in the video. I don't know if there's more you want to talk about the phone right now or we want to jump into that. I'll leave that for the video, but yeah.
00:15:20
So, like yeah, if you watch the video, it's us unboxing it. Kind of all the things we were doing to make sure that it seemed like we didn't get duped
00:15:27
because like we said, an X-ray still could get duped. Mhm. So, everything seemed good. We
00:15:32
decide we want to plug it into iTunes to try and get it to go. And I plug it in
00:15:38
and I get this error message that says, uh, let's see. It says the iTunes could
00:15:43
not connect to the iPhone GDoc's iPhone because of an invalid response was received from the device. And at first,
00:15:50
I just thought, oh man, I'm going to have to like download an older iTunes to get this to work. We had the other ones in the past. I thought it would be no
00:15:56
problem. Somehow I figured it out previously. And then I I noticed that what it said, it said GD local
00:16:02
apostrophe s's iPhone, which is what Apple would do anytime that it's you're naming something. So like if you named
00:16:09
the phone Marquez, it would say Marquez's iPhone. If you named it Ellis, it would say Ellis's iPhone. GD local is a weird name, but doesn't
00:16:16
it still sounds different. It's weird that it has a name already, right? And yeah, we we we activated like an iPhone 3G or
00:16:23
3GS and it it came up as just iPhone. And then but then after we activated it, didn't it name itself
00:16:29
whatever the iTunes was? Yeah. Yeah. Um so that felt red flagish. Um then we
00:16:36
searched on Google. I mean we had four or five people. You guys were searching GD local on Google for hours
00:16:42
just trying to figure out what it meant. Yeah. Like literally like three hours probably. Apple GD local because if this is some
00:16:49
default name I feel like it pops up on Google. I think the only search in 3 hours that we found was you found a
00:16:56
forum post from 2020 of someone's Bluetooth keyboard being named
00:17:01
GD Locals keyboard. Yeah. Yeah. So that feels weird. Then Marquez goes,
00:17:07
"Wait, the guy's name is on the auction site of who bought this?" So the original person who uh did the
00:17:14
appraisal and like brought it to the auction site, his initials were DG.
00:17:20
And so that was a tiny red flag. I was like, "Wait a second. DG his name had GD
00:17:26
in it." And I was like, "Wait, wait, what is GD local exactly?" So that's why we started googling it frantically.
00:17:33
I guess it's just a default name that they they had in when you had an old version of iTunes and this old phone
00:17:39
that doesn't talk to it like it's not set up yet. Not set up yet. It just sort of defaults to GD local and we just found that out.
00:17:45
Did you find out anything more you like? Yeah. So, I have three theories and I
00:17:51
would like to put out an open call to anyone who's a developer who has either other things we can test or um or
00:18:00
answers some of these things. So, theory one, unfortunately, is we got duped. That this is just like an iPhone that
00:18:05
someone plugged into a computer and factory wiped. To be fair, sick follow-up video if we got duped for
00:18:11
$40,000 and get to return this. Just saying. Um, option or theory number two
00:18:18
is that at some point in the quality assurance product process for a lot of
00:18:24
Apple products, they have a test bench where they sort of mock activate devices.
00:18:30
That test bench has the name GD local and this phone just did not get wiped
00:18:35
properly for whatever reason. Interesting. Theory number three. This
00:18:41
is uh the Oh, also I just want to say I like did a bunch of research and found
00:18:47
people like you know kind of talking about Apple test bench stuff. And while I couldn't find any evidence of GD local
00:18:53
being the name of any Apple test equipment when I asked chat GPT what it thought it it it suggested the test
00:18:59
bench thing too. Um so that was pretty fun. And then uh uh number three, the the like most tinfoil hat uh
00:19:06
yes one ever is that there's a bunch of different um graphics libraries from
00:19:13
around like 2008 through 2010. None of which are called GD local but
00:19:19
all have sort of like similar names. Okay. And there are other tinfoil hat
00:19:24
people on the internet that and I'm I really hope I don't get this wrong, but that essentially like Apple was using
00:19:31
OpenGL on the original iPhone and was thinking about switching to core
00:19:36
graphics and um there was some like maybe on this
00:19:41
phone they were testing a core graphics library that um did not get taken off in the
00:19:48
proper way before they decided to go with quartz in the end. Anyway, um, so if you are an Apple developer and the
00:19:55
phrase GD local means anything to you. Yeah. Cuz if it wasn't this guy's initials, I
00:20:03
feel like we wouldn't have thought anything. Yeah. It was backwards, too. So, it was like a little off. But GD and then DGS
00:20:10
are way too similar. It's such a It's such a computer name.
00:20:15
No, it's super d whatever local. I I feel like the the
00:20:21
Lucky You sticker being confirmed a retail sticker is the strongest way of
00:20:28
lending credence to this being original from an Apple store and never opened. And in this process is another thing
00:20:34
that I think helps confirm it is through everything. I' I know we got those other old iPhones to work, but all of them are
00:20:41
at least on iOS 3. I I believe with what I was looking up, the iPhone 1 and the
00:20:48
iPhone 2G both were still using iOS one and from every single post and these are
00:20:54
recent post of somehow people getting phones that should have iOS one. Nobody can activate them on iTunes for whatever
00:21:00
reason. There's some weird hack that barely works, but like it is basically impossible. And every single iTunes that
00:21:07
I tried, I could not get this thing activated. And then one more thing that I think proves that it's on iOS one and
00:21:13
not a further one like three is turning on all three old iPhones we have that aren't this one. The iTunes connect
00:21:21
screen shows a USBA port into the iTunes where this one shows a 30 pin.
00:21:26
Yeah. Going into the iTunes logo. So they have to be on different iOS's. I That's why I
00:21:32
think this proves that this one is on 1.0 or whatever it shipped with. And we will just unfortunately not be able to
00:21:38
power it on. Yeah, this is I appreciate the one More Thing reference. Good job. Oh, yeah. I was totally trying to do that. Well done. Well done. Yeah. No,
00:21:47
this was a this was a fun experience. This is now worth a lot less than when we bought it. Shout out to uh the video.
00:21:54
If you watch it, you'll understand the lengths we went to to get this, but we have it now. What a bargain.
00:22:00
We got it. It was fun. It was definitely fun. I this we talked about this before how this might be the most successful
00:22:07
individual product ever and so it's kind of it was yeah like individual product from one company and
00:22:13
it's kind of cool to like go back in time a little bit and feel what that was like cuz I actually never owned an original iPhone until we
00:22:20
started getting them late and reviewing them. I had later iPhones. I had the LG Voyager like a couple years after the
00:22:26
original iPhone. So this was uh this was fun for me. I do like the fact that the dock, despite the iPhone having a
00:22:32
headphone jack on the top of it, that wouldn't get covered by the dock. The dock also has a headphone jack. It's a nice uh Well, it's a nice This
00:22:38
would be like an alarm clock type thing because when it first came out and this was in there, uh you could pop the
00:22:43
iPhone onto this, it would be your alarm clock and then you could plug it into some nice speakers, which would be
00:22:48
if you really are a heavy sleeper, I guess. Could listen to some loud alarm. Remember when Apple enjoyed open
00:22:54
standards? Good. Well, I was just going to say Apple killed the headphone jack, but also at one point had two of them
00:23:00
basically. So, one on the phone, one on the bottom because it would be weird to come out the top of the iPhone. So, you know, I guess
00:23:06
Apple wouldn't want to do anything weird like a dongle or anything like that. That's very unappylike.
00:23:11
Uh yeah. No, that's that's pretty much it. It retailed like $5.99 when it came out. Nice little value increase. I don't
00:23:17
know if they're going to go up even higher in value. If it does, I will feel like I I got a deal. I think that's
00:23:23
where we'll we'll go to trivia. So, I feel like pretty good about myself. But that was uh that was our our week this
00:23:29
week. Trivia question one. How much did Marquez lose based on the How bad did I get fleeced
00:23:36
this time? Trivia. There it is.
00:23:44
Okay. So, Marquez, $32,000 is a lot of money to pay for an old iPhone.
00:23:49
I agree. What was the final price of the most expensive Apple product ever sold
00:23:55
at auction? At auction. And uh and because it's me, we're doing
00:24:00
prices right rules. Closest without going over. That helps a lot.
00:24:05
Oh, David looks stumped. David's sweating. Blank. Blank face from David.
00:24:12
Stone cold. We love it. I have a hint, but I don't know if I'm right. We'll be back.
00:24:18
[Music]
00:24:26
All right, welcome back. Um, I came up with the idea of putting all these different tech headlines into the hat to
00:24:32
pick out and then just like Marquez always does oneuped me in the break and called it headline in a hat.
00:24:38
I just named it. It's fantastic. This will be a permanent segment on the podcast from now on.
00:24:43
Do you want me to pick it out the hat? Yeah. Let me give it a nice shake. A little ASMR shake here. Headline
00:24:49
roulette. First one headline reads Spotify redesign.
00:24:56
Yes. Okay. Oh boy. This is my rant actually. So you showed me Spotify on your phone. It looks way different from my phone.
00:25:01
I do want to ask you all yours does not show. Have any of you guys gotten the Spotify redesign yet?
00:25:06
When you say Spotify redesign, what are you talking about? The entire page. Almost the entire front pages is totally
00:25:13
different. That's the way it should look. The way yours looks. Okay. So, if everyone is on Spotify right now or uses Spotify, we're
00:25:21
all used to I think everyone right now shows it says like good morning has six
00:25:26
of like your latest artists or songs that you've listened to, right? Yep. Mine still has that.
00:25:31
When you scroll down, what do you see? Like a sidescrolling curated playlist, maybe artists you used to listen to,
00:25:38
maybe some podcasts that are new. mine. When I scroll down, I have one giant
00:25:45
picture. Jesus Christ. Of one artist. And then I scroll down,
00:25:50
another singular picture of an album. Everything Tik Tok is the And they're all videos.
00:25:55
Wait, have you do you did you click the music tab on the top? No. Because when I click music, it turns
00:26:02
into that. Nope. This is just my homepage. I still have music, podcast, audio books on top. Interesting. So now as I scroll down, an
00:26:09
entire page is one suggestion. That's way too much space. Yeah, you can even scroll sideways. It
00:26:16
does look like it's a little like a like ticker, like a like a different stories almost, but I Oh, I
00:26:22
can I don't even know what this is doing. So if you tap on like the right side of the image, it'll skip to like a
00:26:28
different part of the song basically or to the next. No, I think a different song. But when I do it, it just kind of goes to the next one, then doesn't go anywhere, and then
00:26:35
goes back. Do you see this messing up right? It doesn't look like it's working. It's just Miley Cyrus just
00:26:40
It's like a normal vertical feed is sort of like one of those conveyor belt sushi restaurants. It works really well
00:26:46
because the food's coming at you at a high flow rate, but they're small pieces so you get to, you know, pick one up and eat it. You know, this is like conveyor
00:26:53
belt roast beef. Just gigantic pieces. It's just like one cuz a song can be like 4 minutes long.
00:27:00
So, it doesn't make sense to have it streaming at you in this like endless flick space. I would assume that if I
00:27:05
started playing a song there, it would do its normal Spotify, like I'll continue playing similar artists to this. But like I'm one of those people
00:27:12
who listens to music like a high schooler who I find three bands I'm in love with and I only listen to those
00:27:19
three bands for like two months. So by the time I need to get those bands out of my head, I need some suggestions. And
00:27:25
I cannot scroll down to one song suggestion to get me out of this funk that I'm in. I loved how I love Spotify
00:27:32
curated playlists are incredible. I love them so much. I think they're fantastic. I don't have those anymore. I don't or
00:27:38
they're somewhere that I can't find. And I think this is the worst redesign. You know what this is? This is the Tik
00:27:45
Tockification of Spotify. I was going to say like Instagram. It feels like like scrolling Instagram feed
00:27:51
just one picture. So, the reason the reason I say Tik Tok is because not only is it like trying to give you like one
00:27:58
piece at a time, but also now like Tik Tok has so much of an influence over like what blows up in music and what is
00:28:05
actually like trending and hits Billboard and like is useful in music that like people design their songs to
00:28:12
have hooks and parts of their song that will be used on TikTok. And I feel like
00:28:17
what they're doing is like surfacing just that part of the song. Like that's I'm almost wondering I didn't have my
00:28:22
volume on. Would it start playing potentially it's going to fast forward you to just the hook or the chorus and
00:28:28
it's just like your attention span is so short. I just want to fast forward you to the Tik Tok part of the song.
00:28:34
That's that's why I say Tik Tok. It's funny. Now this first one is even a podcast because I other people who
00:28:41
listen to this podcast which I don't think Spotify used to really do. I was going to say they used to they rolled
00:28:46
this out like maybe a month ago for podcasts and I found it really helpful actually. I really liked it because you
00:28:51
would scroll vertically through podcast and it'll give you like 10second segments of the conversation so you can
00:28:58
get a feel for it. Um I don't think so. I think it was like random parts or maybe like multiple
00:29:03
should make a discovery page. Make a discovery page. Don't make it my homepage. Like my homepage is I'm in the
00:29:08
car. I turned my This is going to go on a very small little other rant, but also
00:29:14
ways on Android Auto changed their design a little bit to now where all the boxes are black. It almost looks like a
00:29:20
Google Maps design, but still has the cartoony background. And it immediately pulls up recent searches, not my
00:29:27
favorites. So when I plug in ways, it's not homework. It's It was literally like
00:29:33
a ski resort in Vermont, a climbing gym in South Jersey, and I'm like, I just want to go to work. like I do every
00:29:39
single day. Um, but anyways, back to Spotify. It's just like I want to get in my car. I want to be like, "Oh, these
00:29:46
songs I've listened to a thousand times. I don't want to listen to those. Give me some other genres and curated playlists.
00:29:51
I want to go to those and revamp my week." Yeah. It's Spotify turning turning into It's them addressing the same problem
00:29:57
every social network has, which is I signed up to follow people and see what they post, not see other random stuff I
00:30:03
don't care about. That's Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram. and all of them are like, "But explore other stuff, please."
00:30:09
And they're trying to find ways to get people to do that. It's funny because I would almost argue Spotify does that the best out of some
00:30:16
of them in the sense of when you finish listening to a playlist you have or an album you're listening to or even just a
00:30:21
song, it automatically starts playing simil I've discovered more music through Spotify than I have ever on the radio,
00:30:27
ever on YouTube, ever from friends. They did it great. This just feels Yeah. terrible. I hate it. I'm Spotify. I hate
00:30:35
this a lot. I love it for podcasts. For podcast, cool. If you if it was a podcast tab and I wanted to like a
00:30:42
podcast discovery page, cool. Part of me, my tinfoil hat thing is it's like, do you know what's better than this? AI
00:30:48
Spotify DJ, then you don't have to look at any of this. Yes, Chad GPT is all right at making
00:30:55
playlists. Really? I've never tried that. It's you have to um it you know you have to battle it a
00:31:01
little bit but you can ask it really cool things like uh can you find me like hiphop tracks that
00:31:07
also have the clarinet in them you know and it'll be like totally that's pretty cool there's no like third
00:31:12
party feature to be like okay now make this a Spotify playlist and then just press one button that's
00:31:19
Spotify that will be productized well no it's I mean you could do it with the right prompt and um I think it's
00:31:24
called autog is like a a rapper that gives it uh web access.
00:31:30
Yeah. Okay. If you want to unleash something terrifying into the world,
00:31:35
I say do it. I have a bad feeling that's the next three years of our life. So, uh
00:31:40
cool. I think that's enough of my Spotify rant. You want to pick headline? Sure. Let's go. Headline hat. I feel
00:31:46
like we need like a chant. Headline hat. Headline hat. That was your mic does it way better. You got to go right on top
00:31:52
of the headline. Apple folder wallet. Ah, well, this
00:31:57
isn't a headline as much as uh a random thing we recently discovered. It's an Apple product, so of course
00:32:02
there are 50 headlines of it. So, wait, is it an official Apple product? No, no, no, no, no. But it looks like
00:32:09
one though. That is so cute. Have you guys did you guys look at this yet or did you see it online?
00:32:14
I saw in the notes Apple folder wallet and I was like, I knew exactly. Okay, so I saw Brandon's video on it.
00:32:20
For audio listeners and people who haven't seen this yet, someone I believe his name's I have his name here. Hold on. Um, Nick Bentel created a wallet
00:32:29
that looks exactly like an untitled folder or any folder I guess on Mac OS.
00:32:35
It's really good. It is like spot-on. It can hold four to eight cards or
00:32:41
something. Three to six cards. I don't know how many. It's nice soft. It's great leather leather. It's handstitched. Um,
00:32:47
it's one of those things where you're like, "How did nobody think of this before?" Yeah. Are you guys looking at Brandon's ID?
00:32:53
All right. So, second trivia question. What are all 12 digits of Brandon's
00:32:58
driver's license number? I was going to say credit cards, but I will also accept driver's license or social security.
00:33:05
I was actually going to say this is a pretty cool indicator of how of how long it's been since Apple's Well, they've
00:33:10
never changed the color of the folder in Mac OS. No. So, it's been an iconic light blue color since the beginning and
00:33:16
they haven't changed it. And that allows this physical product to be just as iconic as that color. They they changed
00:33:22
the pitch translation over time. It used to be like slightly leaning forward like like open a little like more skumorphic
00:33:29
stuff and now it's like flat. Now it's like Yeah. totally flat. But like the wallet itself is two different shades of blue because the
00:33:35
front of it is like highlighted and there's supposed to be a shadow in the background. Like this is a really cool
00:33:40
wallet. It's just a little bigger. I mean for anyone I have no idea who this Nick guy is. Brandon ordered it because
00:33:46
he saw it and was cool and he made a video if you want to go look at Brandon's video. But like, yeah, you should make a studio video
00:33:51
about this. Is one of those things for 50 bucks, this is like uh this is such a good gift for your Apple nerd.
00:33:58
I don't know how it's going to age. That's my only concern is it's so soft. Bro, your Mac OS folders don't have
00:34:04
patina on them. I'm just shilling for the Trove wallet right now cuz I've had Well, we have to show the Trove Wallet cuz you have to pay for that iPhone.
00:34:10
So, I've had I've had the Trove wallet for literally like four years and it's it looks fantastic. And I obviously
00:34:18
leather is great and people love leather wallets and they patina over time, but this is vegan leather, right? So it's
00:34:24
not necessarily going to wear the same way. So that's my only concern. But it is really soft and if you only have like four to six cards, like that's great.
00:34:30
It's like a really fun gift. I actually would find more people probably buying this to like put on their desk somewhere.
00:34:36
I don't have that many cards, but I have other stuff that I end up having to put in my wallet. You are igniting like a month's old uh
00:34:43
argument between Adam and I. Adam went through and actually bought me a wallet because he hated seeing my fat full of
00:34:51
old cards wallet. Like yeah. Yeah. I have I only have two
00:34:56
credit cards. My personal card and the business card. My but then I also have to have my ID/driver's license. I have the door key
00:35:04
at the studio which is a card and the card key for the Tesla which is a backup in case my phone key doesn't work. And
00:35:11
which means I should also have the Rivian one in case that doesn't work too cuz sometimes it just doesn't work. And I also realized I have my insurance, my
00:35:17
health insurance card. So I only have two. You're missing the most important card. What is the most
00:35:24
Oh my I don't carry Costco. You always have to have your Costco card on. You never know when a Costco trip could be
00:35:30
fair, bro. You're driving down the road and you're just like I could go for chicken bacon. So you know what I have? I That's fair.
00:35:36
Gizzy for the food. For the food. Really? Dollar50 Gizzy. I have my uh I have what I have is I I put a Tesla
00:35:44
uh third party drawer accessory. Okay. And I took one of those out and I have it on my kitchen counter and it's got my
00:35:51
like pocket knife, my keys, a pen, a SIM card ejector, paper clip, just like a
00:35:56
bunch of basic stuff and it has my Costco card and things that I use sometimes. I feel like the Costco card should default in your Rivian because you need
00:36:03
that room for those that toilet paper just as much. I don't know.
00:36:08
Yeah. Yeah. You're not It's not a Costco trip unless your the trunk of your truck is overflowing.
00:36:14
Funsized bags of Doritos. Damn. They sell a 50 gallon drum of Dawn dish soap. Nothing less.
00:36:20
Need that. Nothing less. But yeah, Apple wallet. Great gift. It's pretty cool.
00:36:25
Looks pretty cool. Five 50 bucks, but has a fiveweek wait time. So that's a little tough, but I think 50 bucks for a vegan leather wallet. That's like
00:36:31
handstand. Order a couple now and maybe give them out for the holidays. Solid choice. Or just just get one of
00:36:37
the trove wallets like now. Yeah, you can get a trove wallet way faster. Yeah, just saying. I definitely didn't put this headline in
00:36:42
so we could chill our own product. I I managed to shoehorn that one in there. Good job. Yeah, I'm a born seller, I guess.
00:36:49
All right. How I want to see how many headlines we have. I think we could do one one or two more.
00:36:55
I think we do one more and then break. Okay. Do you want to pick? I'll pick it. Yeah. Or and then I'll pick it. Gets less and less ASMR.
00:37:02
Yeah. Less. That's what the hat sounds like. That is not an effect.
00:37:09
I don't know why I'm looking away. Okay, this one's called Marquez Blinds. And
00:37:16
it's really because I only I only wanted to say one thing about blinds, uh, which is that I think I finally realized one
00:37:24
other category of tech product that is just as unreliable as printers, and that is
00:37:30
motorized blinds. I didn't I didn't realize it until recently. Hot take. I think that
00:37:36
I have a hotter take for later. We'll get to it. You'll see. It's in it's in there. We'll we'll get to that later. Oh yeah. But um yeah, I don't know. Printers have
00:37:44
sucked forever. And I recently had to get um one of the motorized shades at
00:37:49
home repaired today and the guy like brought in he had the new shades. He like unscrewed the old one, put the new
00:37:54
one in and I was like, "Yeah, so this old one it never charged. Do you like know what went wrong with it?" and he
00:38:00
looked me dead in the eyes and he said, "Sometimes these things just stop working." And he just left. He just walked right out the door. And I was
00:38:06
like, "Okay, great." I'm just imagining like a mechanic like going up just like, "What are you going to do?
00:38:12
My car is making this weird noise." He's like, "Sometimes they just don't work. That's the way it is. Get it off my
00:38:18
lot." I I had it on Google I had it on my Google Home for a while and then that stopped working for no reason. I had a a
00:38:26
routine where in the morning I'd say hey assistant or whatever your name is Google. Yeah. I would say that and I'd
00:38:33
say good morning and then it would open the shades so that the light comes in. It would start playing the news or
00:38:39
whatever. And one by one it would start opening less and less shades. So at the
00:38:45
beginning it would open the bedroom shades and the downstairs shades. And then I'd go downstairs and two of the shades downstairs were open. And then a
00:38:51
few weeks later only one of the downstairs shades were open. And suddenly the bedroom ones stopped opening. I'm like, this is just slowly
00:38:57
breaking down. Just living in perpetual darkness. Yeah. Just like the printers, man. They just they just get jammed up. We have
00:39:03
motorized shades here at the studio. No less than 35% of them are completely
00:39:09
broken. Some are potentially partial. Impaled by your own sword.
00:39:16
Karma, baby. That's what you get for saying it. Um, yeah, the the shades here, some of them are a little user error. I think
00:39:23
once in a while we'll actually put something on the use on the the window sill and it'll hit it. But fair now there are plenty that have broken
00:39:30
just by themselves just by existing like a printer. Like a printer like paper jams. I have two things about this that are
00:39:36
both from a bit back. So I probably shouldn't even say them but whoever. One I want to make a shirt that says printers suck because I would wear that
00:39:43
every day. Universally true. Un I think we could sh sell that on the shop. two, you mentioned when you this
00:39:49
just caught me. When you you say, "Hey, Gword, good morning."
00:39:55
I don't When you say that once, does it stop asking you to say it? Because every morning I say, "What's the weather?" And
00:40:01
it goes, "If you'd like to know what your whole morning routine is, say good morning." And I just constantly yell at it to shut up. If I tell if I give in
00:40:08
one time, will it never ask me to say good morning again? Because that's all I want. Um, maybe. I mean, also, if you open the
00:40:13
home app on your phone, it's constantly giving you little cards and suggestions of things and maybe if you just like dismiss all of those.
00:40:19
Can I just Can I just block every single one of them for the rest of eternity? I don't care. Just tell me the weather.
00:40:25
So, in the morning, it has uh it has your routines, and if you go in, you can adjust what phrase it it looks for to
00:40:31
start the routine. So, I can say, "Hey, G, how's my day?" or "Hey, G, good morning." And both of those start the
00:40:37
same routine. Okay. Um, I guess if you just ask for something that's part of a routine, it just wants you to go, "Hey, you know,
00:40:43
you can you can do a whole routine with this." And and that I even understand. The other one I wanted to stop ever doing is like,
00:40:49
"How many cups are in a liter?" And it's saying like, "If you if you'd like to convert it, you take this plus this and
00:40:56
blah blah blah." It's just like that's what you're for. Just tell me the answer. Just tell me. Shut up. That is fair.
00:41:01
Okay. Yeah. So, yeah. Blinds suck. Blinds Blinds suck. Printers suck. and
00:41:07
key cards. They're up there. They're not quite on the level, but they're pretty close. I'll agree with that. I don't like key
00:41:12
cards. Yeah, I think that's a pretty good place to take a break. We'll rant about these things. Uh before we get too into the
00:41:19
weeds, let's do trivia.
00:41:25
Okay, trivia question number two. Back to the iPhone. Nice. So, Marquez, you bought an original
00:41:32
sealed 2007 first gen iPhone for 32,000. You said, "Don't let me forget." Insane not
00:41:38
forgetting. It cost 40,000 with fees and shipping and everything. Oh my god. The headlines all say the headlines all
00:41:44
say 40,000. My starting bid was 32,000, but I got fel.
00:41:50
You thought ticket master fees were bad. So 40,000. All right. What is the model
00:41:58
number of that iPhone? Oh, wow. Wait. Can this be multiple choice? I'll get it
00:42:04
if it's multiple choice. Hold on. Or I have to confer with can there be intended to break. How many how many digits are
00:42:12
characters are there? It's a it's alpha numeric. That's what I'm trying to say. Like characters cuz there's letters and
00:42:17
numbers. How many are there? Can we do a how many you get right in the correct order?
00:42:23
Okay. You want to do one point per per correct alpha numeric digit.
00:42:28
Yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Cool. One one point per correct digit. I feel
00:42:34
like Mark and I have both looked at this number within the last 24 hours. You have to have. That's why I put it there because your your brain probably
00:42:40
glossed over it. I'm hoping that I get that one right. I probably won't, but I'm hoping I do.
00:42:48
Andrew is already writing. Just jotting it down in case you forget. Yes. Okay. Well,
00:42:54
even though it's the second question, we'll try to remember. We'll be right back. [Music]
00:43:06
All right, welcome back to Headlines in a Hat. I've got a hat. It's got
00:43:12
headlines in it. Andrew, close your eyes and pick one. No, you can't look. You got to pick one at random. I don't want
00:43:17
you to be biased and, you know, select. I wrote all of that doesn't deserve to be picked right now. Got to be fully unbiased.
00:43:25
Okay, this is my favorite one out of all of them. What does it say? Apple selling 10-year-old computer for 5,149
00:43:32
pounds. Yeah. Did you see that? I saw that the other day. This was like a immediately I was like
00:43:38
if I bought that and turned around and tried to trade it in, they'd give me $5. Okay, before we get to there, I have I
00:43:43
have done more research on that part, but let's just go over this. So, it's Apple UK store or apple.co.uk.
00:43:50
Um, it is a 2013 Mac Pro, the the good old trash can. Everybody's favorite. Don't know why it's still listed.
00:43:56
Don't know. 2.7 gigahertz uh CPU, 64 gigabytes of RAM, one terabyte storage,
00:44:01
dual AMD GPUs. Um, it's listed at 5,149, which is approximately $6,400 USD.
00:44:10
Fun fact, this computer can't even run the latest version of Mac OS. Jesus, why are you selling this, Apple?
00:44:17
Why do you want to The only thing I can find people on Reddit is like potentially there's they're hoping there's some
00:44:23
businesses out there that still run on these computer cuz businesses hate to upgrade and that maybe they need to replace
00:44:29
something that fits the same. Oh my god. But that's that is like a stretch.
00:44:34
That's my least favorite thing when businesses are like, "Oh well, all of our infrastructure runs on this and we
00:44:40
don't want to change it, so we need more of the old thing." In 2015, I worked for an IT company and in our office, half of
00:44:48
the computers were running Windows XP. Yeah, that's the way it is. It's just wild.
00:44:53
In 2015, it was still supported. It was still supported, but it was not
00:44:59
the latest. We were also on seven and 10 was out. But yeah. Yeah. In the off chance that there is an
00:45:04
individual human looking at this listing like that seems like a lot of computer for $6,000. I'm telling you right now,
00:45:10
bro, do not buy this computer. Do not buy this computer. And even more interesting is they pro this is
00:45:16
refurbished, which means it's also refurbished, which means they got it back from someone and probably paid that person
00:45:22
like a hundred bucks. And I'm not exaggerating, like a hundred bucks. Okay. So, in terms of the trade-in value
00:45:28
of this, have any of you looked at the the link that I posted? Okay. Can you all make a guess? I want you all
00:45:35
to guess how much if you were to return this. So you have to enter in a serial number. I entered in a serial number of
00:45:40
one we have. We still have the case of it. And then put in all the exact specs that this says. Yeah. So 2.7 GHz. That's like a 8 core,
00:45:49
16 core, 12 core. I don't know. Some I don't know much about these. Some multi-core Xeon processor, 64 gigs
00:45:57
of workstation RAM, one TB SSD, and dual AMD GPUs. I assume maybe the high-end
00:46:04
ones. They're selling it now refurbished 10 years later for $6,400.
00:46:10
So we're we're picking in US here. You're picking if you took this thing. Yeah. US. If you traded in this thing
00:46:16
that you just spent $6,400 US on right now in perfect condition, they'd give me $600.
00:46:22
Okay. My answer is they will offer to recycle it for me.
00:46:27
I think less. Let me I'm adjusting my guess actually. $400. 400. Ellis, I think Apple would um spit on you and
00:46:36
offer to do it in your mouth to be kind. When I traded in the Intel Mac Pro that
00:46:44
we got more recently, far more recent for more money, it gave me $700, right?
00:46:51
Less than the value of a new iPhone. I tweeted, I forgot. It was like well under the value of a
00:46:57
$900 iPhone. So, I can't imagine they gave this person anywhere near before you click on the link. When I
00:47:03
click the tradein program, it says what kind of uh is it an Apple device or
00:47:08
other? You click Apple, it says is it a like iPhone, laptop, desktop, and
00:47:14
something else. And all of those have the it's like up to prices next to them. The desktop computer one was up to
00:47:20
$12.49, I think. So, that's the maximum we're potentially getting. 449 for any desktop mat.
00:47:27
That's what it said there. I didn't try it with anything else. Had like a 40. Jesus. Yeah, that's rough. Like,
00:47:34
if you want to look at how much it actually traded in for, I put I put a link in the uh without spoiling it.
00:47:41
I was right. Based on what you've told us, your Mac is ready to recycle. While it doesn't
00:47:49
qualify for a gift card, just send it to us and we'll recycle it for free. Just send it to us and we'll sell it
00:47:55
online for £5,100. recycle it to the next guy for $5,000
00:48:02
for free. Okay. I I just want to make sure I have this right. So, this is a Mac Pro trash can. Yeah. With a 2.7 GHz 12 core processor.
00:48:10
Okay. Yeah. Uh it has 1 TBTE SSD. It has 64 GB of RAM. Yep.
00:48:16
Does this one have the dual 6 GB graphics cards? Okay. How much do you think refurbished with a year warranty
00:48:24
it goes for on eBay? eBay. $1,200. Okay. $800 on eBay right now. Buy it now. This is
00:48:31
not an auction. It's going for $710. I was close. Not by Price is Right
00:48:38
rules, but I was close. The depreciation goes so hard on this. That's rough. Wow. With free shipping.
00:48:45
And it will burn itself to the ground within a year. It will fry both of those GPUs. Yeah, those GPUs may or may not be toast
00:48:52
already. But yeah, that was too fun not to talk about when it's the way it just so nicely is like
00:48:57
we'll recycle it for free. It's ready to recycle. Let us take it off your head. It's like GameStop where you're like here's my
00:49:03
entire collection. I'm ready to move on from video games. Please change my life. And they're like best I can do is $22.
00:49:09
They like tip the take a penny, leave a penny jar at you for Apple actually figured out a way to sell a computer for
00:49:16
$8,000 and then 10 years later sell the same computer for $6,000. They can
00:49:21
double dip the second round of that computer, too, cuz it's refurbished. Yeah, that's incredible.
00:49:27
Please don't buy that computer. Please. Please, no one ever buy that computer. Let's check back in 5 years and see if
00:49:33
that's still up to on on a listing on Apple.com. Adding to the calendar in 5 years.
00:49:39
All right, back to headline. Let's buy six Mac minis instead. Headline hat. There's two left. I know
00:49:47
one you are not going to care about at all, so I'm kind of nervous that one. Let's see it. The one I got says
00:49:53
Polestar 4. Okay, it says Polestar 4, and this is the one I do have thoughts on. Yes, maybe a potentially hot take.
00:49:59
So, there was an article recently, we just got to see the Polestar 4's like final design and specs. Uh, it's not
00:50:05
going on sale till 2024. At least that's when it's planned to be on sale, the end of 2024.
00:50:10
It's considered the 2025 Polestar, but it says it should be releasing late 2024. We'll see about that. But the idea is
00:50:17
it's a crossover SUV, so it's it's bigger than a Polestar 2. They will have rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive
00:50:22
options, and they're targeting over 300 miles of range. Expected baseline price
00:50:27
is around $60,000, and it looks fire. I've been a fan of the way Polestars
00:50:32
look uh for a while. I kind of had this like semiwarm take on Waveform a few
00:50:38
weeks ago, which is like top four EVs I would buy today. Uh,
00:50:44
after Tesla, it's Tyken, Ron, Polestar. Rivian, Rivian and Ron are
00:50:50
interchangeable, but I really like the Polestar like over pretty much everything else. I I I agree. My only issue with the
00:50:55
Polestar 3 two the numbers are kind of confusing me sometimes. The Pstar 2 is
00:51:01
the one that we tested out, right? Yeah. So, Pstar 2 is the kind of sedan
00:51:08
hatchback small crossover thing. It's like it's like the crossover of a sedan
00:51:14
and a crossover. I don't know. And I think the the shape I I do like how it looks from the side. It It's a little
00:51:20
too big for a sedan, a little too small for a crossover. Where this is a crossover, this looks so good. I am in love with
00:51:28
how this looks. It's sharp. It's angular. The headlights on the front are almost like a split in half sideways T
00:51:35
on both sides and just look look like lights. Every angle of this looks fantastic.
00:51:40
It's got Urus vibes the more I look at the headlights. Yeah, it's way more uh like the front of it is way more aggressive and and
00:51:48
diagonally like at the front. I'm not explaining very well, but it's
00:51:53
it is a banger car. It is a banger. I love this design. I also like the back. And I've liked this about Pulsars for a while. They've got
00:51:58
this bar tail light. Yeah, it's got nice yellow brakes. Interior looks nice. It's got yellow
00:52:05
seat belts which are polarizing, but I love it. It's got a center console that's like not too crazy. I want to
00:52:10
actually get to drive it cuz I want to see how much of this is all onscreen controls with Android Automotive versus
00:52:15
maybe a few switches. We'll see. Um, but maybe the weirdest thing about it, I mean, it's got nice
00:52:21
specs like we said, 300 miles of range, 200 kW charging, 100 kow battery. The weirdest thing about it is that it
00:52:27
doesn't have a rear window and it's a it's a straightup SUV. Like it's got space. It's there. It looks like it has a
00:52:33
cutout for it. Yeah. But it's blacked out. It's blacked out and instead it has a camera built
00:52:40
in. So there's a camera on the back that points backwards and you can view the feed from the camera in the cockpit
00:52:46
in the rearview mirror. Yeah. And so instead if you're sitting in the back seat, they kind of have this like solar system type vibe going on where
00:52:52
you're it's not a sunroof or a moon roof. It's just a it's covered. Yeah. The way the way they said it is it
00:52:58
gives passengers a new kind of immersive rear occupant experience. What is that? Dark.
00:53:04
Sounds like a copout. I don't know what that is. It's a It's weird. I I don't know about this one.
00:53:10
I think the I read What's the unique experience? Latency. Adjustable ambient lighting that adds an
00:53:17
extra dimension to the interior inspired by the solar system allows the driver to customize the driving environment.
00:53:23
Bro, it's going to glow blue. No one cares. It's going to have little lights like a Rolls-Royce. You think it's going to have like the the like stars, but it's it's not even
00:53:29
above you. It still has a panoramic roof. So, that's like still behind your head. Yeah. above and behind you a little bit.
00:53:35
And here's the thing. If I guess if you're the passenger, you can like turn around and look at some cool like LEDs
00:53:42
and or fiber optics like in the Yeah. Yeah. I've never sat in one of these vehicles with the stars over the head. My hot take though is that
00:53:52
camera mirrors camera mirrors are it are the future. Let's get rid of regular mirrors.
00:53:58
Okay. There is one thing and it's very niche on that I was wondering if you can't do anymore is like there are times
00:54:05
when you have a like a child in the back seat, a pet in the back seat where like
00:54:10
you take your rearview mirror and like angle it down for a quick second to see like what's going on. Did all my uh did
00:54:16
my soda spill? Is it like rolling around in the back seats? Like is my kid kicking the back seat? Like what's
00:54:22
happening? So like you can't do that now. There are tons of them that just have the rearview mirror is just a
00:54:28
display and it's showing out of a camera. Ellis did there is latency. I'm assuming
00:54:34
we're probably close enough to where it's not that big of a deal. Minimal latency. I mean, I've driven a few of these GM vehicles that have like
00:54:39
the the switchable one now. So, like if you drive the Lyric or the Hummer or something from GM, it's got a rear view
00:54:45
mirror that you can turn on to be a display and you can actually change the direction it points, how wide or narrow
00:54:51
the angle is. Like, it's much more customizable than you'd expect. And so I find that I don't need the regular
00:54:56
mirror anymore. Yeah. I I there are a lot of also where like the rear view camera is in like when you're backing up only then it goes
00:55:02
to display and then it goes to a regular mirror. Yeah. The only is like a frayed wire. Now you
00:55:08
have no rearview mirror. Well, this will always be true about any electronic solution to a physical
00:55:13
uh snow, you know, maybe blocks the camera. There's always going to be little things that may be annoying.
00:55:18
It is much easier to clear snow off a camera than an entire back window. An entire back window. True. What if you got a bunch of boxes in the trunk? Then
00:55:25
you got to have some way to see through. Like the camera's going to be better. Fair. I've definitely packed way too much in the trunk before.
00:55:30
It just feels like if a car is a computer on wheels, it when I zoom out enough, it just feels like old school to
00:55:38
be like, "Yeah, I'm driving a computer on wheels, but also like I need like these reflections and and mirrors to be
00:55:43
a certain way so I can see around me." It's like, well, I I can just have the car tell me what's around. Do you think those side view mirror
00:55:49
should be That's a tougher one. I do think well I mean we're driving a computer on the road. Why do we need these old?
00:55:56
My by that logic. Yes. I think I am more trained to look in a different place though because those are
00:56:02
mirrors outside the car and my my brain is trained to check that spot. There also runs the opportunity of it's
00:56:09
way more common that those would get messed up cuz they're outside the car versus inside the car. And that's way
00:56:14
more expensive to replace the screen versus you got to move that inside the car. So I think I've seen a couple a couple
00:56:20
concept cars. I don't think this this is shipped in the US or anywhere near us yet, but where instead of being outside
00:56:25
the car, there's a camera there and then the screen is like in the door. So, you do have to train your mind to check a
00:56:32
different spot where the rearview mirror is in the same spot as it always is. And you don't have to train your mind to check a different
00:56:37
spot, but it's just a camera feed. Now, this is a little extra work to train yourself to check a different spot, but
00:56:42
it's better. Does the Ionic not have both where it's a mirror but also has the camera under the mirror for parking
00:56:49
sensors, but when you uh when you turn your left blinker on on the screen in front of you, there's a little video box
00:56:55
to check your blind spot. A lot of cars do that. Yeah, that's really cool. I like that. I feel like this car needs that because the
00:57:01
blind spots you're going to have in a no rear view mirror big pillar crossover crossover visibility with a
00:57:08
slanted back like that is already tough. I think it's got cameras in all the places to cover you fully. So, one on
00:57:15
the mirror, one on the front uh right above like the wheel arch pointing backwards into your blind spot. Like, it
00:57:20
should have you totally covered and it should be able to show you things on the screen. But that's the thing is like I don't
00:57:25
think we need mirrors anymore. Okay, no more mirrors. It's going to require some brain training.
00:57:31
I love how much this car looks. The front end of this car might be one of the nicest looking EVs.
00:57:37
Do you say Urus or Udus? icing like a wood. I say whatever won't rip me apart in the
00:57:43
comments. That's That's a copout. It is. You got to pick one. I need this one. How do you say how do you say
00:57:48
Porsche's's EV name? Oh,
00:57:54
I just submit myself to saying I just say Tykon and whatever happens to me happens to me.
00:58:00
But Pstar together. Yeah, good name. I want to I want to check it out because this might be my second
00:58:07
favorite EV behind the R1S when it comes out. Oh, I'm thinking it might be that good. We'll see.
00:58:12
I like it. We'll see. I think that 300 miles of range will be pretty important. Yeah, they've got to hit that target and it's going to be two
00:58:18
years later. So, the Rivian, you know, who knows what's going to be out by then, but I also wonder if the 300 miles is on the
00:58:23
all-wheel drive or only the rear wheel. The way they phrase it really sets them up to be we're going to have a rearwheel
00:58:30
drive 300 mile version and we're going to have an all-wheel drive faster performance 270 something mile version.
00:58:35
I agree 100%. Yeah. Okay. Uh one there's one more left. This is
00:58:41
Sorry. Sorry. It's head. I wonder what I could pick. I wrote all of these and there's only one left and it's the one I'm the most embarrassed to
00:58:47
talk about. So headline and a hat. Now it's out the hat. Whoa. Oh my god. Netflix streaming
00:58:54
atrocity is what I put down. Please explain. Have any of you Did any of you guys see this this weekend?
00:58:59
Okay. Oh, I saw this on Twitter. Yeah, I saw it on Twitter, but I didn't watch it live. So, embarrassingly enough,
00:59:06
no one did, but I watch Love is Blind if none of you guys know about that show. Very popular
00:59:11
show. One of Netflix's biggest reality shows. Give me the three sentence elevator pitch for what that is. a a group of men
00:59:18
and a group of women get in these pods where they can't see each other and they go on a bunch of dates and by the end of
00:59:23
the like 10 days they have to propose and then they all they live together if they propose and accept it and then they
00:59:28
get married at the end of it all in like a very short amount of time. 10 days and then propose to someone you've never seen. That's the
00:59:35
How do you is love blind? Do you win? Oh, I get it. You win by getting a free wedding, I guess. Um
00:59:40
Wow. Okay. Yeah. and a bunch of air time where millions of people around the world judge you relentlessly for you being
00:59:47
trapped in a pod and probably wasted. But yeah, um so it's very very popular
00:59:52
show. This is their fourth season and Netflix a streaming website but not live streaming. They just stream. Mhm.
00:59:58
They've tried this once before, I think, with a Chris Rock special, but for the second time, at the end of all of these,
01:00:04
they do a reunion where the two hosts get all of the cast members, and by the time it takes to release, it's been
01:00:09
probably a year since they've had their wedding. Exactly. How's everything going? Are you still together?
01:00:15
Exactly. I I'm embarrassed to say that I like how much I enjoy this show. It's like you can't It's like a train
01:00:21
wreck. You got to You just got to watch it. Oh, pretty much. I get it. So, Sunday 8:00 p.m. is when the live reunion is supposed to happen
01:00:28
on Netflix. 7:55 I get on, I click the thing and there's this weird loading screen and
01:00:34
it's not going. I'm like, I'll just wait till 8. 8:00 hits. Loading. Loading. Won't get past like 90% loading. So, I
01:00:41
go on Twitter, search love is blind latest and hundreds of comments. Where
01:00:47
is it? What's happening? Is it not working for anyone else? And like five minutes of scrolling. I've never seen
01:00:52
the latest search in Twitter just refresh so much. Ever. It's like you
01:00:58
swipe down to refresh and do you know how it like shows where on the side your like slider is? It's like 3/4 down the
01:01:04
page. There's like 400 comments. Every minute I'm refreshing trying to figure this out. And then eventually Netflix comes out
01:01:10
with like a statement on Twitter like we're going to be 15 minutes late. Like love is blind and love is also late.
01:01:15
We're going to be 15 minutes late. H look how smart we are. Like don't worry. We've got this figured out.
01:01:21
If you had to guess how long it took for this show to start, what would you guys get? Netflix. Biggest streaming site in
01:01:28
the world. Darling of Silicon Valley. Darling of Silicon Valley. Was it an hour late?
01:01:33
More. Oh, not much more. Was it 24 hours late?
01:01:38
No, that was It was like an hour 20 hour and a half late. Dang. I mean, that's not a disaster. Did
01:01:44
it at least work when it did stream on a Sunday night, too? Okay. Funny you asked that. Yes, but pretty poorly.
01:01:51
Ellis, I want you to listen. I want you to watch it because the microphones in this were the It was some of the worst
01:01:58
audio I've ever heard. It was just constant like on every single person's microphone.
01:02:05
Like all these glitchy noises that clearly weren't working. There was one point where the hosts had to stop everyone talking because one of the
01:02:11
producers was live in their headset, I guess, and they were like, "Who's that
01:02:16
talking? What was that? Wait, we have to pause for a second. I think we can hear all you guys. Should we do
01:02:22
pretty much that like that and the host had to stop doing and like you also just take a bunch of
01:02:28
I mean this isn't a production issue or Netflix, but like why would you go live with a bunch of people who are on a
01:02:33
weird reality show for like two weeks and have no PR training or like know how to do any of this live. It was just
01:02:39
super awkward. Based on what I've heard about the show and how popular it is, this would have been a pretty banger
01:02:45
YouTube live stream, but it's a Netflix property, so they're never going to do it. Funny enough, they had to go live on Instagram to like calm everyone down for
01:02:51
a while because it was taking so long to go live on Netflix. It was It was really bad. It just like
01:02:58
I can't believe they did such a poor job at it. I I I get why they want to do it live cuz they want to try and be like,
01:03:04
"This is the reunion. We're not cutting any of the drama out. like you're going to get all the live the live takes and
01:03:10
the people who are mad and broke up and stuff like that. The moment the cultural moment. Yeah. Yeah. It was not the cultural moment was
01:03:16
Netflix has no idea what they're doing when it comes to live streaming. The cultural moment now is oh Netflix
01:03:22
sucks at live things. Got it. Yes. Don't ever do this again. I want to throw out there. I'm going to watch this so I know exactly what
01:03:28
happened. But um every single like grumpy 50-year-old man who works in
01:03:34
sports broadcasting is laughing. so hard, dude, because that stuff is so
01:03:39
complicated. It's like those are such complicated productions and I feel like we don't appreciate it until someone
01:03:46
goes for it and it's like, "Oh, those people are still sleeping off that night
01:03:53
right now. It's Wednesday and they're still stressed out about what happened. They probably just left the office.
01:03:59
No one is immune to the stress of live production." It It really is true. I just thought Netflix would be able to do a little better with that much money and
01:04:06
resources because like they don't do live stuff very often at all. It was a rude awakening.
01:04:11
I would be surprised if a site that does live like if Twitch or YouTube had that much of an issue. I'd be more surprised.
01:04:18
Yeah. But uh I think this was such a huge new thing for Netflix to do a big popular live stream
01:04:24
that they weren't ready for it. Yeah. They just they just kept saying we killed the internet or stuff like that.
01:04:29
It's like, no, you guys just royally messed You clearly have the bandwidth for it. You just messed this up real bad. I mean, I get it's not like Apple or
01:04:37
Google or or Amazon or SpaceX or like any of these other huge tech companies do live streams ever, you know? It's
01:04:42
like, you know, so like come on. Yeah, that's like Apple actually does an incredible job with live streams. Like a
01:04:48
really good job. Also, the most viewed concurrent YouTube live stream I've ever seen was a SpaceX launch. Had 2 million
01:04:56
concurrent viewers on a rocket launch. Wonder if I can quickly find out. I wonder how many people are trying to
01:05:02
watch uh this show at once. Maybe I would give them a break if these numbers like dwarf anything Twitch has ever
01:05:08
seen. It says 6.5 million ultimately watch the Love is Blind reunion, but that doesn't
01:05:13
necessarily ultimately or live. It says ultimately watch the Love is Blind. If it was available for VOD after
01:05:20
it's VOD after for sure, then you could easily total six million after. Exactly. And I think a lot of people
01:05:25
probably watched the next day because like this is Sunday night at 8:00. It didn't start till 9:30. It didn't end
01:05:30
till like 11:30. Like I'm fairly sure the first hour of a Mr. Beast video, six people, six million
01:05:36
people are all watching it at the same time. For sure. Pretty sure. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know, you try Netflix.
01:05:42
You try. You live, you learn. You'll figure it out for the next one. You'll get them next time. Chad, maybe ask some advice for uh some other
01:05:48
tech companies that do live stuff. Maybe there's a few out there. I don't know. You might be around some. Uh no. Yeah,
01:05:54
that's about it. The hat is empty. The hat is empty. The hat is empty. Shout out to the publish the publish press.
01:05:59
Colin and smear smear hat. This is what we use merch for. We got sweet ideas. It has to be this hat every
01:06:05
time now now that we've named this segment. Uh but that does it for the lightning rounds and for this week. I think we
01:06:11
have nothing left but to do the trivia answers and then maybe maybe get David to FaceTime in and answer
01:06:18
those himself.
01:06:24
All right. So question number one. Let's get into it, boys. Marquez bought an Well, that's question number two. Nice
01:06:30
one. Let's get into it, boys. 32,000 is a lot of money to pay for an old iPhone.
01:06:36
What was the final price of the most expensive Apple product ever sold at auction? And if you uh if you want to
01:06:43
try to guess the product, I'll give you a bonus point, too. Why not? Okay. Sure. Also, just a reminder, Marquez paid
01:06:49
$40,000 for it.
01:07:04
I'm really hoping the answer is someone got fleeced way more than I did. That's my my real hope.
01:07:11
[Music] Price's right rules totally change how I
01:07:17
answer this. That's a fair Yeah. Ready? Flip them around.
01:07:25
Interesting. 50,000. I feel like both of us are kind of low. I said 150,000. Okay. I said 228,000
01:07:32
for an Apple Lisa. That part is incorrect, but you still get the point. Oh, it was it was an Apple 1. Obviously,
01:07:39
Andrew, I was going to say Apple. I didn't write anything down, so I get it wrong. I was going to say Apple one, but I also was
01:07:45
way too embarrassed to just totally mess up the product name and get roasted, so I wrote nothing. What was the uh what
01:07:52
was the actual number? So we can know if David beats us. Can I tell you what I was going to answer if there was no over?
01:07:57
Yes. 1.2 $1.2. No million. Joking.
01:08:04
Those two times, bro. Um that is a real fleece right there. So uh just for clarity, uh there are
01:08:10
only 200 Apple ones made. Oh wow. I think we only know about 80 that are
01:08:15
still around. This one was handsteined by Steve Waznjak and it's confirmed to
01:08:22
have come like from his garage. Um, it sold at auction for $95,000.
01:08:30
Dang. I hate that. I'm you guessed that. My thought process was I want to guess 1.2, but I think that's
01:08:37
going to be too high. And I think Marquez is going to guess a million. So, I want to be under with I played myself.
01:08:46
I knew it was Apple 1, too. I just got it right. I would have been pretty close. 900,000. 95,000.
01:08:53
Okay. And it was in Michigan, so I don't know what that tax looks like, but
01:08:58
I hope it's an extra 20 grand just for fun. Okay. So, second question. Marquez, you bought an original 2007 first gen
01:09:05
iPhone. Yeah. For $40,000, which we're going to keep reminding you. What is the model number?
01:09:13
Multiple choice model A1203,
01:09:20
B A 0120, C A10,
01:09:29
or D A 03 22.
01:09:35
[Music]
01:09:42
I hate how confident I am with this and I'm going to be very sad when I get it wrong. Oo, the confidence.
01:09:48
Oh, I'm so torn. I'm What helped me is I had
01:09:56
I had five digits that I wrote down previously when I didn't know it was multiple choice and only one of those
01:10:01
was missing. So, and it was in none of the answers. the one that the extra digit I thought was in none of the
01:10:08
answers. So, this is the closest to what I had before. All right, flip them and read A.
01:10:13
Yeah, I have a Okay, correct. I wrote down A1703. I wrote down A13025,
01:10:20
[Music] I think. I And I had six when I first read. So,
01:10:26
the five the five was extra. Okay. Dang. Yeah. I'm glad I'm glad I didn't get that wrong. I was almost
01:10:32
going to pick D. I circled D and I was like I knew I knew A Z was wrong. I knew
01:10:38
it was A. The minute you said A1, I was like that's definitely right. Um that's why I tried to put two. Yeah. All right. Now, in the magic of editing,
01:10:45
we're going to magically have David here hopefully to answer. Where are How What is your approximate
01:10:50
elevation right now? Uh zero. No way.
01:10:56
I think. Yeah. Zero. Looks like you're in the clouds. I was I'm very surprised at the how well the service is doing right now. We were very
01:11:02
worried about that. Well, we also thought you were going to be driving. I have maxed out 4G, baby. Maxed out.
01:11:07
This is pretty cool. There's a cell tower somewhere in the in the distance there. That's pretty cool. All right. Well, we've got we've got
01:11:13
trivia uh questions. All right. Trivia. David can only David doesn't see any of
01:11:18
us. He's looking at just the camera. I can see the little thing down there. This has got to be kind of weird.
01:11:24
We got trivia for you. You can write on it. So, Andrew and I have already answered, so we know what the answers are. and
01:11:31
we're gonna live react to your answers. You're not allowed to ask that guy behind you.
01:11:37
All right, David. Question number one. 32,000. Excuse me. Mark has spent
01:11:42
$40,000 on an iPhone. What was the final price of the most
01:11:47
expensive Apple product ever sold at auction? And it's price is right rule. So, closest without going over.
01:11:54
Oh, also bonus point if you guess the product. Thank you.
01:12:00
$1.6 million. And
01:12:06
Wow. How's that feel in Iceland? Was that too high? Yeah.
01:12:12
Really? Yeah. It was uh $95,000. I guess I should have guessed lower.
01:12:18
And what do you think the item was? Um
01:12:23
Steve Jobs sandals. Straight to feet. Bro, those would have been 1.6 6 million. If those were sold,
01:12:30
those would be ones 1.6. They They were sold. They were sold recently. Wait, what? They were, but they're not an Apple product.
01:12:36
Oh, yeah. Fair. His Birkenstocks. Okay, second question. Kind of gross, to be honest.
01:12:43
Just to say, Marquez, your answer was almost exactly right on what Steve Jobs Birkenstocks sold for. 218,000.
01:12:50
Wow. Crazy. Yeah. Wow. This is disgusting.
01:12:55
Did Did you guys get it right? Did you guys get it right? So Mark got the closest. I ended up getting the closest. My answer was an Apple Lisa which was
01:13:02
wrong. It was an Apple 1 and the product and my guess was 280,000
01:13:08
which was price is right closer than Andrew's 100. I went really low cuz I was my guess was
01:13:14
1.2 million but I didn't want to go over which I would have. So I guessed really low instead. So I literally could have guessed
01:13:20
500,000 and got it right. Damn. Yep. Yes. Or 400. Unfortunately that's the disadvantage of
01:13:25
being very far away. All right. Well, second question is multiple choice. So, we've been
01:13:32
reminding Marquez this whole episode that he bought an iPhone for $40,000. A 2007 first gen iPhone. What is the model
01:13:41
number? So, is it A model A1203,
01:13:46
B A 0120, C A1012,
01:13:53
or D A 0322?
01:13:59
B. So, you think B model A 0120?
01:14:05
Yeah. Wrong. Elsa is ready for that one. Immediately.
01:14:11
What is it? A1 A 1 2 03. I keep nodding like you can see me. But
01:14:18
I should have known it would be one because zero would be like alpha like pre-release. Yeah. Well,
01:14:24
thanks for playing all the way in Iceland for zero points. I didn't think well enough. You're in the most beautiful place ever,
01:14:30
though. Yeah. You win some, lose some. You know, that's true. That's true. Win some. Win some meaning you get to be
01:14:35
in Iceland. Lose some. No points this week. Meaning you're still winning trivia. I should have thought harder. Well,
01:14:41
thank you, David. You look like you're doing something way more fun than this. We appreciate you. Uh, that's been that's been it for Wave
01:14:48
Form this week. Uh, thanks for watching. Catch you guys in the next one. Peace.
01:14:55
Oh, wait. We have something to give Andrew that Mariah printed out. So, if you guys remember, last week's trivia
01:15:02
question was about screenshotting on Windows. Oh, no. Maria something out and wanted
01:15:09
me to give this to Andrew on this. My mom texted me on Friday saying window
01:15:15
shift S. I actually knew that. Like I have never been torn apart more got him than me not knowing about this.
01:15:26
It's She printed the text message my mom sent me. It's me saying happy Easter and her
01:15:33
saying window shift S. I actually knew that. Thanks, Mom. Way to embarrass me.
01:15:40
That's a top moment on the for sure. That's I will never live that down for my life.
01:15:45
Okay, now we're officially wrapping it for this week. Uh David, hopefully we'll be back next week and we'll all be doing
01:15:50
trivia in the same place. Until then, catch you guys later. Peace. Waveform is produced by Adam Molina and Ellis Roven.
