Brodie Kane Speaks Out on “Toxicity” of NZ Media, Building an Independent Business, Abortion & More!

Dom Harvey

Episode Description

When I launched my podcast early in 2022 Brodie was one of my very first guests. Since then, we have gotten even closer and have become running friends. So, this is her second appearance on the podcast- but this chat is very different to the first one because my very talented mate has now gone and written a book about her life experiences- the good, the bad and the ugly. Oooh there is some ugly in there!

The books awesome by the way- "Woman Uninterrupted"

Brodie is an open book, she is forthright, opinionated and outspoken so nothing was off the table- we cover some crunchy topics here including the public backlash she experienced as a reporter on TV, her redundancy at the start of the pandemic and how she dusted herself off and bounced back, an abortion she had in her 20s and her decision to speak about it publicly. And lots of fun stuff, including her relationship with her parents and her time in the army before getting into media

This chat is a celebration of resilience and self-acceptance from a woman I am lucky enough to call a good friend.
