Sharyn Casey on Miscarriage, Grief & Walking Away From Radio

By pure coincidence this conversation was recorded exactly 20 years to the day after Sharyn Casey and I first met.
Back then, she was 20 years old, wildly ambitious and by her own admission trying far too hard to make everyone like her.
Fast forward two decades and Sharyn has walked away from the radio job that shaped her entire adult identity - and she’s figuring out who she is without it.
This conversation is funny, honest and, at times, very graphic. Listener discretion is advised.
Sharyn Casey is warm, chaotic, vulnerable, self-aware and very bloody funny. AND she is the more comfortable and content in her own skin than I have ever seen her before. At 40 she knows exactly who she is and she is very comfortable with who she is. And I am proud to be able to call her a friend.

I switched my KiwiSaver account to Generate after they came on board as a show sponsor, and honestly, I should’ve done it sooner.
