like the kiss because I was um I had sausage breath and I had a sausage in my mouth and we kissed each

kissing right so so the um the nickname Steven from Den is that something that was given to You by JJ at the ede it was

say that um well the prod the um the hosting M be on the radio but the producers were the different stories cuz

the producers on radio sport and all the other shows they would answer the phone

call they were just hang me up so really the hosts were okay with me but it's

just the producers that are negative no I I have to say you are um you you are very very hard work to deal with yeah at

times like you can be very demanding um and you know that I and JJ knows that quite well there were even even times

where we would do a setup on the air and Mike Peru might be like so come in Steven from denen and on your end

there'd be a problem you couldn't get your cassette that working so you you

didn't want to talk on the air if it wasn't going to be recorded so you just

leave us hanging now we were very very tolerant to be fair probably to the detriment of our ratings um but other

people were more selfish and concerned about their ratings so they're like let's just not give this guy the time of

four when I'm 47 I'm I'm 50 now being 50 club now so three years yeah three years

okay and um before that it was just you and your dad yeah um M until and your mom until your mom passed away can you

remember what year your mom passed away well it was a famous Year too it was 2015 and that's when the mighty

Highlanders won the competition and that's when you took me to the um Grand Final thanks to the eded listeners and

yourself and you put me remember you must make sure you may you remember their time as well didn't you D oh yeah

next to you and I was trying to record some content for the radio and there was a tense point in the game and you you

tears because um the the com the team won because and there was when mom passed away there was yeah so yeah that

means a lot to me so are you did you had your mom passed away like before the the

Super Rugby final thing and that's the reason why I went up there because you

guys um sorted out and everything in 2015 to um your listeners and uh who some some sponsor also um uh some sent

me up there thanks to you guys at the edge and yeah and and you and you um got us into the culprit um box and we met

celebrate we had we had a good celebration and the um the CET box with you yeah but

that could have been like the opportunity of a lifetime for you like we were you know Christian hang out two

old blacks Christian C and merant we would have gone out yeah yeah but you had a good sleep yeah I had a good sleep

yeah that's the main thing so that's the main thing yeah um yeah so let's talk about your mom

because um I you were very close a um and my my earliest memory of your mom is probably

us being to off by her like she was she was really protective of you and she was

really worried that we were like um taking the piss out of you on the radio and then I think after a while she got

to see that um you know that that it was a like it was a genuine friendship and it was a bit of ban you gave us a hard

time we gave you a hard time but it was all love at the end so yeah tell us about your mom and what she means to

you well she meant a lot to me and everything and everyone knew that how how highly I spoke about her and

everything um been a it's been a long time been long um 10 years without um without her

and everything and uh it is lonely without her being around because she was a good supportive mom she really helped

me and everything when I needed her she was there for me and so yeah and now it's a struggle because Dad's in rest

home and there's no support for me around the place but I've got wonderful

friends back at home and denan looking after me as well but Mom has be one of my favorite people in my life and

everything so yeah and sadly she passed she passed on she passed had she had Parkinson so

yeah yeah how was that for your dad after after your mom passed away you and your dad actually well it was a struggle

and everything so and he all the phys all the phits he's had in hospital and

uh all the wonderful people have looked after him as well especially in the rest

time the mon Sol rest time and everything they they they really looked after him and he's really well been well

well looked after as well cuz unfortunately he's got a away bit he's um I don't know if I want to say that

but uh the doctors have uh said that he has been diagnosed with cancer and everything so that is going to be a hard

battle between and that's probably another reason why we've also um delayed

the trip as well so hopefully nothing happens between now and then how old's

your dad now he's in a 84 yeah so how often do you go and see him at the home

every single day yeah yeah uh we go on Monday Wednesday and Friday and sometimes Saturday but lat it's going to

be hard seeing them now we just lying down in town yeah CU how he's quite old

is he 8 84 84 so you going who takes you to visit him has friend John oh yeah oh

John who dropped you off at the airport today yeah yeah um and can you you still

yeah so you go visit yeah what is an average day look like for you these days so you're living on your own a and a

uh uh flat and with the den city council and everything and they looked after and

everything so so you live on your own I do live on my own yes and who who helps you who helps me to do what oh well

grocery shopping but I've got people going to come and help me in next couple

yesterday when I was coming up I made a good Stu for on Rice so yeah and you love your ear fryer right yeah yeah it's

come around to my house lately I just want to say don't want to mention any names okay um how do you find living on

a few special friends out there they really look after me I just want to I do want to

Noah so you met them through your church group I'm not Louis but Noah through

church and that's how this um how my even that's how my trip started off well

Baptist Church um Noah got me up on in front of everybody and had the segment called the Fast

Five and he asked me the question uh that what was on my bucket list and I what was head and I really wanted to go

to an NBA trip of a lifetime and everything and um and this and I want and I didn't know somebody fed and um

videoed and somebody showed it to me and then I shot it to JJ and then JJ started

off and giv it a give a little page and that's thanks to that's thanks to how it

all started thanks to Noah and JJ full start it all up and she come JJ um started up and give a little page and

yeah so that's Noah so he's you know him him through church Lewis how do you know

Lewis well leis is just a great um um made of M um Inon he plays football for Ros and white Cary in and I support him

big time and he supports me and that's what a true friendship should be like

support each other um day and day yeah so yeah and they the same age what are they like 20 20 22 23 yeah

sometimes and it's um I got to meet them at your 50th birthday at the cbin carard

about them are you just grateful for what they they just do they just do so much for me and everything and and I I

to a more appropriate time um yeah we did look at going over in March and going to Las Vegas to see the the

take round about 15 or 20 kids plus their caregiver uh to the Gold Coast for a holiday so is that the only other time

on a family holiday we mom and I and my sister went um to um the Australia so we've had a few trips and everything and

and probably the um good trip that Dad and I M went together we've had a um Cruise we're on a cruise ship fa um
