Thoughts on the Humane AI Pin

April 12, 2024 / 01:32:49

This episode of the Waveform podcast covers Android's new Find My Network, the Humane AI Pin, and the recent solar eclipse. Hosts Marquez, Andrew, and David share their experiences and thoughts on these topics.

The episode begins with a discussion about the solar eclipse, where the hosts recount their experiences witnessing the event in Ohio. They emphasize the difference between a total solar eclipse and a partial one, highlighting the dramatic changes in light and temperature during totality.

Next, the conversation shifts to Android's Find My Network, which allows Android devices to locate lost items similar to Apple's AirTags. The hosts discuss the features of this new network, including how it works with other Android devices and Nest speakers.

Finally, the hosts talk about the Humane AI Pin, a wearable device that functions as a personal assistant. They discuss its features, limitations, and the challenges it faces in replacing smartphones. The conversation touches on the device's design, battery life, and the user experience.

The episode wraps up with a trivia segment and a light-hearted discussion about various tech topics.

00:00:00
it's magnetized to my shirt and uh you know how the back of a pin is usually like a little piece of metal it's
00:00:06
another battery back there so this thing is just kind of sitting on my chest with a whole bunch of weight and battery and
00:00:12
heat and uh it it does what it says it's supposed to do but I guess does it here's my here's my um my number one
00:00:22
overarching thought when using
00:00:27
it yo what is good people the internet welcome back to another episode of the waveform podcast we're your hosts I'm
00:00:33
Marquez I'm Andrew and I'm yo it's David yo I wasn't expecting the Y it caught me
00:00:39
off guard I saw you like turn your head around you got you got to change it up sometimes uh yeah we got a whole bunch
00:00:45
of stuff for this week we have uh some thoughts on Android's new find my network also the pin that I'm wearing is
00:00:52
a product it's a tech product believe it or not we'll talk about the Humane AI pin and we'll wrap it up with our
00:00:58
favorite segment headlines in a hat also I apologize if I stutter over words a lot more today or a
00:01:05
little more I'm missing several of my teeth oh I'll leave it at that oh um just leave it there yeah I'll just leave
00:01:11
it there cool that's it use your imagination dear listener to know what happened yeah video listeners have
00:01:17
figured it out already audio listeners are picturing various things right now one of them could be correct wait why
00:01:22
did the video listeners well because they can see which teeth I'm missing can they or not missing they're way in the
00:01:27
back of your jaw well now they know but like spiler if you just heard
00:01:33
that I was missing several teeth and didn't see me you could it could be any of the teeth I feel like you did have an
00:01:39
interesting enough experience that it is worth the story fair fair enough uh yeah
00:01:44
I got I got my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday it's been a couple of days and I'm you know I'm figuring out how to
00:01:50
talk again but also um that was the same day that we had an earthquake in New Jersey in it was exactly the same hour
00:01:57
that we had an earthquake and apparently the like popped his head out into the waiting room and was like hey did you
00:02:02
guys feel that and then went back to taking the rest of my teeth out so I'm
00:02:08
fine now but like who knows what was going on uh during those those minutes
00:02:13
nice either way we got to talk about I'll save the PIN for later we got to talk about Android's oh wait the solar
00:02:19
eclips we we were just on a video shoot okay we've all seen the solar eclips in totality yeah you guys wow we've all
00:02:27
seen it I saw it in 2017 standing right next to you you hasn't seen have you
00:02:33
ever seen yeah yeah I saw the last one in 2017 Okay so we've all seen we've all seen a total toal I was on the plane
00:02:38
with you this morning coming home we've all seen it he's missing teeth give him time it's yeah I'm still processing
00:02:44
things no it was it was awesome we went and and I promise you it was a coincidence but we went and shot a video
00:02:50
on something in the middle of Ohio uh this past week and booked it
00:02:57
before I knew that there was an eclipse at the the same time and then the eclipse news started bubbling up and everyone's going this is big this is the
00:03:03
coolest one ever this is the one that's going right through the heart of the US and like I was like oh this is so sick I
00:03:08
kind of want to see it and so I looked it up on the calendar and I saw that we were already shooting something and I was like dang we're already shooting
00:03:14
something wait wait a second we're already shooting something we're already shooting something and I looked up and we were shooting in the path of the
00:03:21
totality like right in the smack in the middle of it and it was absolutely worth
00:03:26
it it was the coolest thing I've ever seen yeah for people that have not seen a total solar eclipse I feel like the
00:03:32
way that the media the media portrayed it was like there was all this hype built up around it right because a lot
00:03:39
of the US media is like oh to and the difference between a 90%
00:03:45
solar eclipse and a 100% solar eclipse is 10 billion per the difference between 99 and 100 is drastic it's so big so
00:03:53
like everyone in New York that I knew I'm the only one that left New York for I went to Ohio as well I was probably
00:03:58
like an hour from you guys probably yeah but uh everyone that I knew that New York was getting so excited for it and
00:04:04
then the actual thing happened and every single person messaged me and was like well that was underwhelming and I was
00:04:09
like bro you don't understand how sick it is when you actually get the total
00:04:14
solar eclipse I think I have I have a video of all of us like yelling reaction
00:04:20
there's definitely you're right like I was waiting for it I was like this is going to be cool this is going to be cool and then it happened and we were
00:04:27
all like what is going on kind of feels like you're in like a sci-fi movie but
00:04:32
it's actually happening and it gets cold which is amazing yeah so my favorite part was there was an app that I was
00:04:38
using I forgot the name of it it I downloaded it before because it was some Eclipse Tracker app and it looks at your
00:04:43
location tells you what to expect and then the day of I open it and it's like three bucks now and I was like okay fine
00:04:49
so it definitely got a lot of money that day but that app gave us like a countdown of based on your location
00:04:56
here's the timeline leading up to totality of what to ECT so it was like
00:05:01
an hour before you can start looking at the eclipse and start seeing it happening and you put the glasses on and
00:05:06
you see the little chunk taken out of the Sun and you're like oh that's crazy that's super cool and we've actually had
00:05:12
a partial solar eclipse here before so I've seen this before right and outside if you're just walking around you could
00:05:18
just not have any idea that's happening conceivably yeah other than people looking around with their glasses at the sky you get to you know half an hour
00:05:26
before the eclipse uh before totality and the light starts to change a little
00:05:32
bit and you start to notice it's a little bit darker just a little bit dimmer out yeah uh there was like 25
00:05:39
minutes before then 15 minutes before and you started getting to the point where Shadows were different and the
00:05:44
light in the sky was different and we were actually setting up our first shot of the day and we had our cameras Out
00:05:51
and because the sun was dimmer MH it looked like the dynamic range of the cameras was immense because you could
00:05:58
see the blue of the sky behind us yeah and uh spoiler we actually shot the intro of this video on the other side of
00:06:04
the eclipse so it was still like partial light I think it looks incredible that's awesome the whole time Brandon our
00:06:09
cinematographer kept being like everything looks like it's in log right now it's that's kind of true yeah
00:06:16
there's all these really amazing things that happened during the total eclipse like there's uh everything kind of looks
00:06:22
a little bit flat but there's a 360° uh Sunset that happens that's
00:06:27
freaking amazing it gets colder the animal like will all they all think it's night time this all the app yeah they do
00:06:33
all their night rituals 5 minutes before a breeze a cool breeze will drift in and
00:06:38
like it'll really start getting darker and then one minute before when it's really dark you're like okay this is
00:06:44
this is very different from the partial eclipse yeah it's so sick and then yeah it hits the the part the moment that it
00:06:50
actually hits totality and then you're in it for maybe 2 3 minutes of totality like four four solid minutes we were in
00:06:56
the middle of the path and just staring at it without the glass is lifechanging yeah it was amazing it's also it's not I
00:07:03
kind of assumed it'd be like oh it's like getting darker but it was like oh it's getting darker and then it's night
00:07:09
time like like you can feel the moment where it's like someone flipped the switch here's all of us reacting to it
00:07:15
happening do you have the moment
00:07:28
holy yeah this is no one knew I was filming that that was just like I wish the video the video cuz your phone like
00:07:35
uh adapts for the like darkness which locket but so it all of us were just
00:07:40
sitting there and it's just like and then it's like what is going on yeah this was this is mine here we
00:07:49
are oh guys oh oh
00:07:54
yeah yeah oh so we can look at it dark
00:08:00
oh my gosh oh that wasn't exciting the App G the app gave me a
00:08:05
countdown so it was like 10 seconds to totality and right around 10 seconds everything starts like accelerating the
00:08:11
sunset that crazy yeah I didn't actually cture video at totality cuz I was like
00:08:16
hurrying to get pictures cuz I shot on my 4x5 and I was like yeah so it was a lot but yeah it's crazy yeah I hate to
00:08:23
be that person that's like you have to experience it to understand but if you ever in your lifetime get the chance to
00:08:30
go a little out of your way to experience totality it is worth it th% I will be doing it again and that was just
00:08:37
the second coolest thing we did in Ohio bro that was the coolest thing we did Skyline chil Skyline Chili bro close
00:08:44
chili beans cheese onions spaghetti you forgot something cheese more cheese more
00:08:51
cheese wait one more thing cheese even more I think you the cheese yeah that was there too for sure yeah no I was I I
00:08:59
saw a clip the other day actually my two favorite things that come out of this one obviously everyone's pictures but there's a meme of like the Google Trends
00:09:05
graph of my eyes hurt and how it spiked over time through the path of totality hilarious I hope everyone use their
00:09:11
special glasses two is appreciating like the cosmos A little bit this doesn't
00:09:17
happen on any other planet this is only an earth thing what wait it doesn't happen with the moon any
00:09:22
any of the moons of the other planets the size of our moon oh is perfect in
00:09:27
its in its reference in its ratio to how far away the sun is so the sun is 400
00:09:33
times further away from Earth than the moon and it's 400 times what small
00:09:39
bigger in the sky or what smaller whatever the ratio is yeah it matches perfectly here on Earth because of those
00:09:46
ratios and only here on Earth and I'm alive that's crazy well and that's finite because the moon's getting
00:09:52
further away from the earth so I mean all of our life get further away we will
00:09:57
get more noite it's getting fur away so it'll be
00:10:02
smaller we won have a total anymore thats we always will yeah we were alive
00:10:08
I'm definitely going to the next one which is in two and a half years in Spain Andor Iceland yeah I will say as
00:10:14
someone that was here for the partial eclipse if you've seen the partial and you're like eh I kind of get it you
00:10:20
don't totality totality is different not even close yeah I it's huge it's super
00:10:26
cool yeah so and the the thing I was we were talking about this I want to see like all these natural phenomena and
00:10:32
Iceland is lowkey a good spot to go for Aurora Borealis MH and that only happens
00:10:37
when it's dark and it's dark during tality and you can probably see where I'm going with this yeah there's a small
00:10:44
chance large chance that oh you mean a small chance it happens there's a small chance that you go to Iceland and it
00:10:50
gets dark really quick and then you instantly see the totality and aora balis at the same time and it's not
00:10:55
cloudy I would die super low chance I'm going to do it anyway bro super low
00:11:02
chance you're telling me there's a chance though I'm gambling with fate I want to see that I don't I don't know if
00:11:07
it gets that dark during totality totality got dark but it has to be like pitch black to see
00:11:13
our unless it's like a sun a solar flare or something at the same time which like that would be crazy there will be being
00:11:20
a solar flare there's a chance that's the best time to see a solar flare did you guys see the the solar things that
00:11:27
were coming off the Sun the corona little beads the little beads yeah yeah I took um I took some
00:11:33
pictures classic David sentence look at the little red spots coming off the sun
00:11:38
yeah so Co that's I think Bill and I was saying that's how we learned about those is eclipse what the homie Bill you're
00:11:46
supposed to say the science the Science Guy yeah yeah I think that's how we discovered Coronas
00:11:52
yeah is through eclipses being able to cuz you can't look at the sun right and
00:11:58
see it oh but that blocks out Hur at the at the sun apparently also uh
00:12:06
a lot of other planets are visible during the eclipse because the sun is like shining on them but not on stuff we
00:12:12
saw Venus like instantly who no one told me that where was I you didn't see it it
00:12:18
was announced it was announced you can see it look back at your pictures it's probably in your pictures yeah no it was announced is it near the sun this is wor
00:12:26
near the it's near the sun dude no we it's it's just another sparkly bit it's not like a bright star kind of you
00:12:33
didn't miss m look at I bet if you look back your pictures Venus you'll see like a really bright one you're like what is that I'm watching that video back and if
00:12:38
I don't hear any of you talk about Venus I'm be I promise you Andrew you didn't miss the cool part yeah you saw the cool
00:12:43
part yeah Skyline I was right there Skyline baby speaking of uh things that
00:12:50
affect the whole world speaking of things you have to find yeah like the
00:12:55
eclipse like the or Venus like Venus in the sky um that was rough uh Android's
00:13:02
fine my network is here finally we just got notifications about this when if you're on your phone you got a notification ideally uh all Android
00:13:10
phones and tablets will have find my device or sorry find my device trackers
00:13:15
are coming and we'll be able to use Android devices to find things yes but you can also uh use yeah cuz you could
00:13:23
already find my Android yeah that's already a thing but find my device trackers like air tags for example will
00:13:29
use Apple's find my iPhone network and anytime someone nearby gets close enough
00:13:36
to it it'll ping and update its location similar concept with Android now yeah
00:13:41
yeah that's that's the thing right can I ask a nerdy question sure so like the
00:13:46
Apple fine my network is enabled by the U1 chip is that uh no it's well that is
00:13:53
just for the um that's just for MIM wave precision when you're in and it like
00:14:00
points you in the direction inside your house that's the only thing the UN on chip does like when you're within range
00:14:05
of it yeah otherwise it's like Bluetooth and mesh Network yeah Mesh networking
00:14:11
really yeah it's got to be low power the U chip is it means Ultra wide band yeah yeah yeah yeah but I thought that was
00:14:17
how it was communicating with all the other U1 chip devices and that's what formed the mesh network no definitely
00:14:23
not cuz Ultra wideband is does not go through walls or anything the iPhone has one built in and the air tags have one
00:14:29
built in so when they were like announcing it that was the like Precision thing but if you just want to find another iPhone it can direct you to
00:14:36
like the building on the street just like with it reg Network yeah broadly yeah yeah so there are some um very
00:14:42
special stuff that they're doing with this as well uh your device now doesn't need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network
00:14:48
it can be found uh via Bluetooth just like Apple devices but the pixel 8 and pixel 8 Pro can even be found if the
00:14:56
device is dead um Google says this is due due to specialized pixel hardware
00:15:01
and it wants to ex expand that Hardware to other high-end Android devices in the future how long till pixel 7 and less
00:15:09
has this this exact same G S4 ultra I don't know I mean it sounds like it's something that doesn't
00:15:16
require the separate battery from the phone or something like that um but
00:15:21
that's pretty cool uh you can also now use Nest speakers as reference points for your trackers so like if you have
00:15:28
multiple different Nest devices in your house the closer it is to whatever one
00:15:34
in any given room it will be like it was in the living room which is cool smart do you sorry I'm going to interrupt a
00:15:40
little bit but like At first I was like this sounds really cool because I leave my phone around the house all the time and always need to look for it it's one
00:15:46
of my favorite things about my watch by being able to do the like do you guys do
00:15:51
that ever uh I don't use an apple all the time you can ping your phone yeah pinging but do you use that like if I
00:15:57
ever I don't I don't my phone very often but if I do wow you're so much better everyone Marquez it's just in my pocket
00:16:04
all the time it's actually a problem I probably use that feature like twice a day nice yeah best feature ever which is
00:16:10
where like I like that I probably wouldn't need it because I can just actually no that would be nice for if
00:16:16
like Lan is sleeping and I don't want to if I'm worried I left my phone in her room and then it just goes bring bring
00:16:22
bring why she trying to sleep yeah the network is great because it used to be that you were only able to like if your
00:16:29
phone was on and and had cell data that's when you could find your phone yeah but now it's the same as the way
00:16:34
that Apple does it where it's like every other Android device in the world is a
00:16:40
beacon a beacon so if any other Android device walks by it it's going to like Ping its location which is really handy
00:16:47
um by default there are going to be three different options uh you can use without network where your device just
00:16:53
doesn't participate in the network you can still locate your offline devices using their stored recent location
00:16:59
when they online which is basically like if your phone dies you'll see the location for when it died uh there is
00:17:07
with network in try hight trffic areas only which is the default that everyone will be uh opted into automatically
00:17:14
which is basically like you can lo locate using recent stored locations on the network in areas like airports or
00:17:20
busy footpaths and then there's with the network in all uh all areas so not just high traffic areas it can also be in
00:17:27
very low traffic areas uh it just might use location info from your device um so
00:17:33
yeah it's very useful and that's going to be awesome because I think that one of the things that apparently keeps
00:17:39
people in the Apple ecosystem uh is the ability to use these trackers for example whenever I'm on an Android phone
00:17:45
I keep an iPhone in my pocket as well literally to use as a beacon device to find all my lost stuff because I lose
00:17:52
things all the time and I have air tags on everything how many air tags are in your account do you think I think 12 12
00:18:00
solid which I could use more I have like eight and I have one in my car just so
00:18:05
that every morning when I leave I always forget where I park I just the phone and be like oh yeah it was on that street
00:18:11
see Android a lot of Android phones have a feature where as soon as you start driving and then you stop driving and
00:18:18
start walking it automatically goes you probably parked here I have been waiting for that to pop up it has not happened
00:18:24
in like 6 months I get it like randomly it's kind of random it just decides to work or not wait but if you have a an
00:18:30
air tag in your car then anyone who drives with you with an iPhone do they get the notification like someone's
00:18:35
following you constantly really is that just fun to freak them out at that point I just tell them to deal with it because
00:18:41
it's more valuable to me to be in there than when someone says oh my gosh someone's stalking me you go that's me
00:18:46
like yeah deal with it yeah um yeah so that's great it it removes a little piece of apples Walled Garden you know
00:18:53
what's kind of funny though that I found interesting is the fact that the nest in
00:18:59
seems a little bit first partyish you know like with Nest speakers you'll be
00:19:05
able to find it in the given rooms and I'm like is that gonna roll out to all
00:19:10
smart speakers that aren't just Google or is that only going to be nest because it said Nest specifically which is
00:19:16
interesting I wonder if you I feel like after the Apple lawsuit I'm just
00:19:21
like other people do it I'm putting the equivalent in the Apple ecosystem where like if you have a homod specifically
00:19:28
then you can use thisle would do they would totally do that yeah any yeah they would have done that they do have
00:19:34
there's plenty of Google Assistant like licensed speakers out there right like
00:19:40
and other there were other smart home devices that aren't Google do they still have those actually or did those there
00:19:45
are it's just that the it's specifically said Nest that's why I was I wonder if
00:19:50
it's just now cuz like it's has something specific for it and could come out in the future but it is weird that
00:19:57
it only says that yeah to see I don't know anyway that's exciting um again
00:20:02
just like knocks down a little brick in the W garden and now you can have an Android phone and not be uh so upset
00:20:08
about it yeah find your stff I'm not upset that I have an Android phone David well I I mean I hate carrying two phones
00:20:15
on me when I need I need an alternative to air tags that's all I'm saying totally fair yeah well we should take a
00:20:21
quick break uh and then we got to talk about all the headlines in the Hat and also this pin that I've been wearing just heating up my chest um but first we
00:20:30
should do trivia you know it's hotter trivia Segways are we're killing the
00:20:35
Segways Today l the timing was a little off but that was good okay first question is a science question whoa no
00:20:43
way I know that's crazy I'm going to get it how many teeth do humans have Price
00:20:51
is Right rules Price is Right damn right that was Ellis's Edition I love it I
00:20:56
think I know I can't wait for the whole conversation when I'm not participating and just counting the teeth in my mouth
00:21:02
countd teeth before before they get taken oh yeah yes like in your mouth at a time when you're born adults typically
00:21:09
have when you're born you have no teeth when you're born really
00:21:14
yeah are you sure about that yeah I'm positive I couldn't be more sure think I
00:21:20
could not be more yeah you're biting on things to like because because your teeth are
00:21:25
growing so that your teeth can break through the gums it's like when teeth first grow in interesting I just counted
00:21:30
the teeth in my mouth so I'm just writing that answer but you said before wiom teeth get taken out I'm writing how many teeth I have right now okay that's
00:21:37
is that great answer I mean that's that's a good no that's a good thing to do because it's price is right rul so you should be under under counting
00:21:43
anyway well I had four more a week ago so like yeah so right right now the answer is with with the ones that you
00:21:50
were supposed to have cuz I still have them okay exactly with the ones you were supposed to have how many ah okay yeah
00:21:58
so if you got some taken out recently like someone did just add those back in
00:22:04
count we'll have the answers at the end uh as usual we'll be right [Music]
00:22:16
back support for this episode of w for comes from gigabyte so there's a lot of talk out there about how AI is
00:22:22
revolutionizing our world computers are writing newsletters robotic bees are pollinating flowers and a new wave of
00:22:29
driverless taxis are popping up in cities across the world but how can AI power our passions and what we do for
00:22:34
fun that's where gigabytes AI gaming laptops come in so its range of powerful and portable new laptops deliver Cutting
00:22:41
Edge performance for anyone looking to explore the Brave New World of AI powered gaming every 2024 orus machine
00:22:47
comes equipped with the gigabyte AI Nexus which is like a central Hub loaded with all the AI powered features you
00:22:53
could possibly hope for that includes super useful tools like AI power gear which aut automatically throttles and
00:22:59
extends your computer's battery life depending on your power source and usage you also get access to AI boost which
00:23:05
optimizes Performance Based on what you're doing in that moment whether you're ripping through a new FPS or
00:23:10
running your own large language model and AI boost automatically adjusts the GPU and processors to maximize response
00:23:16
and deliver unparalleled efficiency lastly AI generator includes various generative AI apps for quick startup so
00:23:23
all 2024 gigabyte models seamlessly integrate with tools like open Ai and Microsoft's cop pilot AI chatbot but the
00:23:30
orus 16x and gigabyte g6x take it to the next level with dedicated co-pilot key
00:23:36
allowing users to swiftly tap into its productivity and generative AI capabilities you know we hear all the
00:23:42
time that AI will change entire Industries but Andrew David can you guys think of any specific ways that AI can
00:23:47
improve gaming yeah like inside games I think NPCs and dialogue with AI kind of
00:23:53
like chat pods is going to make way more creative and like a unique immersive exper experience yeah speaking of bots
00:24:00
they have trained AIS to be much better bot players that you can play against so
00:24:06
they're way way way better than the way that they train Bots uh in the past modern Aji way better you can get a lot
00:24:13
better versus these Bots super useful yeah well all models are available to purchase right now so if you go to
00:24:18
ors.com slaptop gigabyte a that's a
00:24:23
rus.com slaptop gigabyte gigabyte team up fight on all
00:24:31
right welcome back we should talk about the Humane AI pin it's finally
00:24:39
out whoops it's out it's real it's it's out you're wearing now we seeing like all
00:24:45
the videos and like all the teasers and all the hype remember all the hype where we were like what the heck is this product/ compan we've talked about it on
00:24:52
the podcast before they were like raising gazillions of dollars and they had all these former Apple people and
00:24:57
we're like what they what are they doing they had stickers they had everything but we didn't know what they were making
00:25:03
and then we found out and now it's here it's a pin with an AI assistant inside
00:25:11
with a projector a camera a couple microphones and speakers and
00:25:17
batteries and it's here first off did we ever have a bet on what would actually
00:25:22
come out first the pin or the rabbit R1 cuz I thought the release date was
00:25:27
originally well rabbit made a big deal of the fact that they were releasing earlier because they were supposed to come out on Easter then it actually you
00:25:34
know what's funny about this the hum iin was originally supposed to come out on the day of the eclipse yeah that was the
00:25:40
whole thing and they like put their logo their logo is an eclipse is an eclipse and they did that on purpose and then
00:25:45
they missed it yeah and then the rabbit R1 logo a rabbit supposed to be tied in with Easter was supposed to come out on
00:25:51
Easter and then that got delayed it is remarkable I mean it seems like they've been developing in like parallel and
00:25:56
like sort of pseudo racing each other and it's kind of remarkable how close to each other they're launching and they're both clearly rushing to just get it out
00:26:03
the rabbit started development in October that's insane that's when they came up with the idea I will say this
00:26:11
okay sorry I sidetracked a little there but I thought I remember our rabbit like
00:26:17
talking smack that it was coming out earlier or something yeah they were okay yeah so the thing about the rabbit which
00:26:23
we don't want to talk too long about it's it's like a little box with one
00:26:28
piece of software in it that runs on a little cheap computer and like has a camera and it's like it I can understand how that didn't take forever to develop
00:26:34
yeah this is a $700 piece of Hardware yeah with plus a
00:26:40
$24 a month subscription with all the services and internet and that's own phone number and all that that I could
00:26:46
see how it would take a while to develop because there are certain things a lot of Hardware in here that are actually
00:26:51
very impressive and you know they they talk a big talk about how a lot of people came from Apple and like designed
00:26:57
OG Apple products I will say as far as like how well built and how well made
00:27:02
the materials are it's the best part about the pen it's metal the magnets are extremely strong the speakers are very
00:27:10
audible in lots of situations like it's the tolerances are really tight everything fits together well it's
00:27:17
surprisingly well made and I give it crop props for that I think that's the best part about the AI pin and I think
00:27:23
making a projector this tiny probably took some time as well so there's that
00:27:28
yeah they went through a lot of it when they came and showed it off to us in like internal parts and stuff and it was
00:27:33
really impressive seeing all of the inner workings of it and how much thought had to go into making this do
00:27:40
what it does even see that yeah I just really is it even on the camera I'll put it I'll put the mic on the other side so you can see it so yeah it's right here
00:27:45
it's on my chest it's magnetized um God there's so many fundamentals I'll have you guys ask questions that you want to
00:27:51
know about it but here's the fundamentals of it is it's a little AI in a box it's your little helper you can interact with it with your voice by just
00:27:59
using this touch pad here and touching it and going what time is
00:28:04
it 243 p.m. so when you hold down it's listening and when you let go it's not
00:28:10
so it's not always listening for a wake word or a hot word or something like that it's just when you're touching it
00:28:15
then it's listening and if you ever don't want to use audio it also has a
00:28:21
projector built in which is impossible for me to show you from this angle but I basically just hold my hand out in front
00:28:27
of me and a little UI appears on my hand and it's projecting UI and then as I
00:28:32
move my hand around I'm interacting with the UI of the of the pin which is new
00:28:40
I've never seen that before it's really really unique um it's magnetized to my
00:28:45
shirt and uh you know how the back of a pin is usually like a little piece of metal it's another battery back there so
00:28:52
this thing is just kind of sitting on my chest with a whole bunch of weight and battery and Heat and uh it it does what
00:28:59
it says it's supposed to do but I guess does it here's my here's my um my number one
00:29:06
overarching thought when using it I really believe that Tech can eventually make this like artificial assistant
00:29:13
possible for regular people like you know CEOs and like Executives and super rich people have like human assistance
00:29:20
that like know everything about them and like book flights for them get their calendar sorted meetings all that fun
00:29:25
stuff and for us regular people we want like a a virtual assistant for lack of better terms so like Google Assistant
00:29:32
almost makes this promise of look we know all this stuff about you we can help personalize results for you and
00:29:38
like help you through your day and all this stuff super cool I think we can actually get to a point where Tech can
00:29:44
deliver the promise of like the virtual assistant which I'm really excited about yeah the problem with this one is it's a
00:29:52
separate device from your phone it doesn't pair to your phone it's totally separate and so it therefore doesn't
00:29:59
know anything about you that your phone knows about you your phone knows a lot
00:30:05
about you mhm depends on what phone you have but it knows a lot about you this device has to learn over time and starts
00:30:12
off at such a frustratingly low level that it's basically useless at the beginning until you start to talk to it
00:30:19
and use it and get it to learn you and the friction required to get it to the point of it knowing about you is so
00:30:25
great because of all the other flaws that I don't think I'll ever get there mhm that's my problem with it I also want to throw out in there like I think
00:30:31
a pretty easy thing to say is like well it will get to know you like if you do just get past the friction point but my
00:30:38
biggest thing here and we all were kind of talking about this is like even when it gets to know you the fact that it's
00:30:44
its own number and not connected to your phone is like that means I have to make
00:30:50
the choice of am I communicate because one of the things it can do is like tell me what's going on today like what if
00:30:57
what did I in my text messages send this text message whoever call this person
00:31:02
it's a different phone number so now I have to be like hey David I want you to
00:31:09
like during the week I'm wearing the Humane pin so can you use this number like 9 to five on the weekdays and can
00:31:15
you wait it doesn't forward no let try not that I know of let's try it right now
00:31:20
yeah send Andrew a message saying I'll be there in 10
00:31:26
minutes they should have done it with the hand UI it's not fast there are multiple matching contacts which one do
00:31:34
you mean Andrew Andrew Andrew Andrew I'm
00:31:40
none of those y what's Andrew [Music]
00:31:46
melli is this where you find out Andrew's numers and Save in your phone says I'll be there in okay to
00:31:55
send nope message sent canc wait what actually
00:32:04
what contacts is it pulling from I so at the beginning you connect your Google
00:32:09
Apple Microsoft and title accounts so those are the contacts from my you have
00:32:14
on title I have my contacts in Google contacts so that should be pulling I'm G
00:32:20
to try it one more time say my full name tell Andrew manganelli I'll be there in
00:32:26
10 minutes [Music]
00:32:32
your message to Andrew says I'll be there in 10 minutes okay to send am I
00:32:37
not in your phone can you confirm that I'm in your phone the audience wants to know the audience is is this the first
00:32:44
friendship ended by a human also I want to say quick note to everyone listening and watching when
00:32:51
Marquez does these demos I'm not going to edit that that is the the time it takes oh there's also multiple other
00:32:57
Andrews that's what it just went and that's why I said full name and it didn't didn't work damn you put my name
00:33:03
in here fast to prove that it was I'm just kidding Andrew yeah I know yeah nice so it did that's a thing okay what
00:33:10
if I okay David what let me try David oh yeah try me CU your name's in here too right I hope
00:33:15
[Laughter] so whoops tell David ml I'll be there in
00:33:22
10 minutes I'm ready
00:33:29
there are multiple matching contacts which one do you mean David David David
00:33:35
IMO David or David what a flex I just saw
00:33:41
it David IML come on it's not how you pronounced
00:33:46
my name pin your message to David IML says I'll be there in 10 minutes okay to
00:33:54
send yes by the way Marquez could have done this in uh if we go if we get past that part though
00:34:01
we'll give it the benefit of the doubt that this is what it's trying okay I just got a message from a random number
00:34:07
say I'll be there in 10 minutes yeah so I think the point where we're trying to illustrate which is exactly what we just
00:34:13
said is this can do a bunch of things but all of those things I could do
00:34:19
infinitely faster or better on my phone yeah unless your go basically the one
00:34:24
thing that this can achieve is if your goal is to spend less time on your phone then technically you can do it and more
00:34:30
time frustratingly working with the pin you will probably be very frustrated with the friction of using the pin I
00:34:35
want to even give it the benefit of the doubt though on if you do want to use the pin in some cases but now you have
00:34:40
two completely separate phone numbers forms of communication with David so like you could be talking to him through
00:34:47
the PIN for a day but then like that's not including the time you're using your phone so unless it's completely taking over your phone you going to be using
00:34:54
your phone sometimes now these are two totally different conversations are we
00:34:59
going to double our text messages for every single person that we talk to in a week you were talking about you know it can summarize all your messages and it
00:35:06
can read you the things that you've received while you were in a meeting that's only if the person texted this
00:35:12
number I just did so what happens I just texted it back you texted it back great well how do you know so there is a
00:35:18
notification light at the top that you have to look down at that I have to look down oh my God I can't see it very well
00:35:24
so it's not really you didn't see it when I texted you back so like or anything there's no vibration oh my
00:35:29
goodness ask have a h motor I haven't felt any vibration call it what happens if he call call wait so can
00:35:37
you ask if I have any messages do I have any
00:35:42
[Music] messages David said okay and it just
00:35:50
reads it out loud no matter what the message is or if you put your hand out it'll say it on your hand instead cool
00:35:57
yeah okay I'm going to call you now yeah call me let's see how this works let's see if it rings all right I should and
00:36:03
you see the light purple light but can you see the light oh the lights the light that isn't a spot I feel like that
00:36:09
would catch my eye oh oh how we
00:36:17
doing did I accept it okay near I'm on the
00:36:22
phone know on the phone so that's the thing yeah if you try to use this pin
00:36:27
noisy environments or in public you're just everyone can hear everything around
00:36:33
you and uh if you want to engage with it in other ways then you have to tap it and use the hand thing and try to oh you
00:36:39
hang up okay put the UI on my hand now and I received a message so I'm going to
00:36:45
say oh I have a missed call from David from before yeah there it is and yeah it technically works it's
00:36:53
kind of you know what reminds me of Vision Pro a little bit oh because the in I'll get there yeah you need to clarify
00:37:00
it reminds me of Vision Pro because clearly Vision Pro a lot of people are like what do I even do with this I I
00:37:06
want to be so amazed by the product but I don't know if this fits in my life at all but the tech and the fact that it
00:37:13
works is pretty cool I find some of the same things with this where like the fact that the projector actually works
00:37:19
it's not even that good it doesn't track my hand it's not super readable but the fact that it actually responds to my hand that's kind of cool but I don't
00:37:27
have a place where this like makes sense in my life are there other people where this does more maybe I don't know um
00:37:35
yeah yeah if if you're in a chance oh by the way there's way more instances where it's like really really heavy friction
00:37:41
but if you're if you're in instances where you want to spend less time on your phone that's where I feel like you're the best possible fit for this
00:37:46
product and even at that point it's probably not great but what can it do that's the that's like I'll tell you
00:37:51
what it does okay let's go so it's got the microphone and the speaker and it has the large language model and it can
00:37:56
process what you're saying and then it can either do on device computation or go to the Internet and look stuff up so
00:38:03
if you ask it questions about facts or ask it to tell you things or recommend you things in the area what's some food
00:38:09
around here what's uh the weather tomorrow how tall is this building stuff like that it can do all of that just
00:38:15
like your phone I'll say a lot of things and I'll say just like your phone at the end because it's true about all of them
00:38:20
okay it can make phone calls and send text messages just like your phone on a different number on a different phone
00:38:25
number okay it can take pi pictures and 30C videos just like your sometimes all
00:38:32
of all of these are very much dependent on how well it's working um but it can take pictures it can take videos it can
00:38:39
send those pictures and videos uh it backs them up to the cloud it can play music just like your phone in Bluetooth
00:38:45
headphones or I think it canar to headphones as well which is what you should do please don't play music out
00:38:50
loud I just personic what do they call it the
00:38:56
individual sound bubble as advertised is not well so when they were explaining
00:39:02
that to us I think the bubble makes all of us think I think it's less of it's a
00:39:08
bubble where other people can't hear it and more of a bubble where it feels like you have a good sounding bubble around you not that it that's what when they
00:39:15
were explaining it to us I took it as that not as this like magical only you can hear it thing yeah I would say
00:39:22
definitely if you want to wear headphones to have more personal audio you probably should it it claims to have
00:39:27
a sort of personalized audio bubble I think that's some of the words that they were using I feel like it's pretty close
00:39:32
to just me holding up a small speaker like a small speaker phone I can hear it
00:39:37
pretty well I also believe you guys can hear it pretty well so I wouldn't call it private I would just say it's audible
00:39:45
which is fine I wouldn't listen to music walking around but you could um that's a that's basically what it does and I
00:39:52
would say all the other things about a smartphone that are
00:39:57
natural questions you have like what's the battery life how much storage what apps are there all the answers hurt all
00:40:05
of the answers hurt um they do include a lot of Hardware I will say for batteries
00:40:10
so like the back of this pin magnetized is another booster battery and they include two batteries and then a little
00:40:16
like charging case to charge the battery and like a little charger that sits on your desk all these like nice
00:40:22
accessories for different weights of clothing the battery life it's never made it through a day for me with all of
00:40:27
the batteries included can you also all the batteries all of the batteries you can hot swap but it's never made it
00:40:34
through an entire day for me can you ask it how much battery it has cuz the way I found it explains it is very confusing
00:40:40
well there's the internal battery and the booster battery and it describes it as both yeah I'll ask it what's my
00:40:48
battery 88% booster 25% so built-in battery is at 88% which
00:40:55
it has been for a while and the booster which slowly drains during the day is at 25% so it m it maintains the internal at
00:41:02
88 as much as possible it's it maintains the internal kind of at whatever it is when you put the booster on that's what
00:41:08
I found that's what I found confusing is it's like I assumed that one would always be at 100 yeah but I guess it's
00:41:15
letting it train but that's a confusing thing to say what's my battery and here two numbers and then every time being
00:41:20
like I I think it makes sense physically like this is such a small system that like wirelessly wirelessly charging it I
00:41:27
think would be just heat loss just like all day so I feel like it's just keeping it at whatever it's at and slowly
00:41:33
draining the booster and once the booster is dead then it slowly drains the internal but that's not the case
00:41:39
there no or I guess did you change it when it drained the booster then drain the main and now you have a new booster
00:41:45
on cuz it's two different not full it drained my booster and then it started draining the main down to 88% which is
00:41:52
when I swapped on a new booster and then the new booster started draining while it kept it at 88 the EAS way of doing
00:41:57
that would just be like you have approximately 4 hours of run time current situation I've had drastically
00:42:05
different amounts of battery life depending on what's happening I've had an hour straight where I do nothing and
00:42:10
it drains completely I've had an hour where I did a lot of video recording and
00:42:15
it only drained 25% so it's really hard to say how much time you have left based
00:42:20
on what's Happening uh I will say it's always warm on my chest um but yeah so the
00:42:26
battery life question I will say is really really not great even though it's a tiny thing the point is you have to
00:42:31
charge it every single day the other thing is it is heavy so if you're wearing it on you know they've got all these like thick clothes in their demos
00:42:38
which is super cool but if you wear like a thin Jersey like I do or like a little lightweight hoodie or something like
00:42:44
that you're going to notice it's kind of like sagging a little bit yeah they do suggest I think they would want you to
00:42:51
put it up a tad higher they basically said the seam of your shoulder and your sleeve
00:42:57
because they're closer together is a tad tighter but then you're definitely not going to see a notification line no I
00:43:03
actually think you would see it better if it was out to the left here it' be more in your peripheral and the notification on the top right um it's
00:43:10
not a product that like demos well you have to teach people how to use it it's which is kind of confusing but also you
00:43:16
can learn how to use things I still think even in its perfect placement though is a bit strange and they do have
00:43:22
like a couple different backings on it there's one without a battery that's lighter but I still think if you're wearing looser clothing especially like
00:43:30
Jersey s material like Marquez wears a lot it's going to be all over the place it's so what are you doing now I'm just
00:43:37
texting you back oh oh with your
00:43:45
hand so you also have to pinch for this how it's one of the ways to do things
00:43:51
yeah like how how much better is that than or is it at all comparable to Vision Pro like the pinching eye
00:43:58
tracking thing okay so the projector is fixed on your chest right so when you
00:44:06
move your hand out it's sort of a muscle memory of remembering where to put your hand to immediately have it project the
00:44:12
UI onto your hand oh once you have a project onto your hand the gestures work
00:44:18
but you need to sort of learn to keep your hand in place and calibrate yourself to how sensitive it is I was
00:44:23
going to say can I ask you said before it has no hand tracking does that Minor Adjustments when you're close in on it
00:44:29
or did you just mean like you know it has to be in a particular place it's just straight locked on fixed yeah and
00:44:36
it also seems to have a pretty generous like amount of distance you can be from
00:44:42
your hand because it's tracking that distance okay so one of the pieces of
00:44:47
the UI is like pinching like you saw that's like a selection there's also moving around the UI by tilting my hand
00:44:53
like there's a marble in my hand and that's like how I select the piece of UI that works kind of well but it kind of
00:44:59
like you can imagine like an iPad game where you're tilting a marble around it's like not easy but you can you can
00:45:05
do it and then there's like moving your hand forward or backward in depth with
00:45:10
UI so like my passcode when I put it in I'm like selecting the numbers on like a a moving Carousel so yeah you can do it
00:45:19
but it's not fast for me I'm a weak in maybe I'll get really good at it soon
00:45:24
but I'm not fast so I have a question m in its most magical ideal this is the
00:45:30
perfect world State what does this do better than a phone that the whole
00:45:39
point isn't just you don't have to take out your phone good question I'll say two things okay one is it's always with
00:45:47
you all the time so it can remember things if you just go remember that Andrew's birthday is
00:45:53
next week and it'll just write it down keep it in the little portal which is a
00:45:58
web portal it's not even an app and that's set can you not do that with like a Google Assistant with like a
00:46:05
Google Assistant button you can but where does it write that stuff down it just remembers it because you can tell
00:46:10
Google Assistant I like to be called by this or like that kind of stuff and it remembers that it's nice to have a
00:46:16
little Hub at the end of the day where I can go back and see all the things that I told it to remember there's a physical place online you can do that yeah
00:46:22
there's a Humane web portal let's talk about that yeah so you sign in you log in with your account you have your
00:46:29
Google title Microsoft Apple all that stuff is signed in there and then you have all the photos and videos you took
00:46:35
all of your last few commands and what the answers were and then of course the stuff you told it to remember okay so
00:46:41
that is one thing that it's currently better at than my phone if I can't if I
00:46:47
can't like grab my phone and write it down right away that's at least nice and then two is just like less screen time
00:46:53
that's kind of it like it it can take pictures but my phone takes better pictures it can text and call people but I can do that faster on my phone I can
00:46:59
look up facts but I can do that faster on my phone all the things that it does I can do on my phone but that means I'm using my phone so if you want if you
00:47:06
really want to reduce your screen time and live a less distracted life you know we have smart glasses as a form factor
00:47:13
for that we have a pin now as a form factor for that that's a thing I can do are they marketing this as a phone replacement or as a I think none of them
00:47:21
are really able to make a good case to replace your phone I think people watch the videos and feel like there's a
00:47:28
future where maybe it could replace a phone yeah but today I think if you like honestly ask them like we can all agree
00:47:35
phones are pretty op like phones are great and so there is no world in which this does everything your phone does it
00:47:42
doesn't have Spotify it doesn't have podcast it doesn't have any apps really so it can't replace your phone today but
00:47:48
it's a companion app that you also charge every day and then maybe start using more and more during the day the
00:47:54
problem with companion app and this is still what I think think is the thing that I is my biggest gripe with this is
00:48:00
that like if it's not replacing a phone it should be connected to my phone and be the companion app of the thing that I
00:48:06
don't need to pull my phone out but that's my Hub still if I can't connect I
00:48:11
I like need to confirm if that's real that it cannot connect to my messages and phone calls because it just
00:48:16
feels so not right issue but I'm pretty sure I can't see how it would do that if
00:48:22
it has some sort of forwarding but then it's not pulling things from my phone my phone's not forwarding back messages to
00:48:28
for it to read from and then you have to carry your phone anyway if it's paired I'd be fine carrying my phone if it's like my phone's in my backpack and I
00:48:34
have this on me like that I think is fine there's a place for something like that if it works well I'm I'm in your
00:48:40
Ideal World here like I but all of that is is kind of strange a lot of the stuff
00:48:46
they said is coming soon like there is going to be Google Calendar connections but that's coming later and feels like
00:48:51
something that probably should be there at launch I yeah a lot of the things coming later feel like they should be
00:48:57
there at launch to help make this seem a little more useful but there's yeah there's a really long list of features
00:49:03
that I would like for it to do like if it could just see my Google Calendar if I could just say what's my next event it
00:49:09
can't even do that it says it's coming actually David and I were having this conversation about in the the I think
00:49:15
one of the weirdest things about large language models are like assistants right now is why do they always have to read the entirety of every single thing
00:49:23
like if I want to say right there's an example they do where they're like what's my next meeting and it's like
00:49:28
your next meeting is like the MKBHD content meeting with Adam Ellis and David and it's at 1:00 and then you're
00:49:35
like um oh is Tim gonna be there and it's like Tim will not be attending the
00:49:40
MKBHD content meeting with Alice Alex Alice but uh it seems like what large
00:49:46
language models are doing right now is understanding the context of how you talk to devices but what needs to happen
00:49:52
as well is that they need to contextually talk to you like a human because right now it's using your
00:49:58
contextual it's using contextual understanding of your language to fetch information but then it's just taking
00:50:03
that information as a glorb and then pulling that in and showing that to you
00:50:09
but until until these models can actually like talk back to you like a normal person then it's kind of hard
00:50:15
yeah in yeah no sorry oh in this perfect world I could see a future where you
00:50:22
don't need your phone for example the rabbit R1 mhm uh theoretically we
00:50:27
haven't got to test it yet the whole point of it is you should be able to it
00:50:32
connects to all of your apps and it learns how to use your apps like you would use your apps right and in that
00:50:37
world if the Humane AI pin had a large action model as rabbit likes to call it
00:50:43
and it knew how to use all your apps and you could say call me an Uber to this location I and I could see a world where
00:50:50
that is my only phone number right where you you're like I'm going phoneless I'm just not doing phones anymore
00:50:57
at all and I'm just having a dangling AI assistant that can do everything for me
00:51:03
with all my apps and all that stuff I think you're you could get there it's funny how much we use screens I think
00:51:10
there's like a last 10% that's going to be really really hard to wean us off of screens because even if let's say you
00:51:15
could on this you can't but let's say you could call an Uber and you said you're in the city and go call me Uber to the studio and you hear it Go bling
00:51:21
your Uber is on the way and then you want to walk one block to the corner to the Starbucks and have it pick you up
00:51:28
there what do you do on the pin oh God okay uh do I do the hand thing to do it
00:51:33
do I go adjust my pickup location to my new location like the last 10% is so
00:51:41
annoying and if it was very human likee it could handle that super easily and that'll be the the real impressive
00:51:47
accomplishment of these large action models and large language models but that is the hard part the other problem
00:51:52
is that it's all voice- based yeah and correct and like speak B and I just feel
00:51:57
like that's a critical issue it is well it does have the projector so it's not all speaker based it can feed
00:52:03
information through the projector okay I don't have as much of an issue with the audio as you guys do maybe because I I'm
00:52:09
thinking of it like a person I'm just outside around people all the time if you had a a little person on your
00:52:16
shoulder that was like your actual human assistant I would hate that but imagine imagine how functional he would be if
00:52:23
you could just be like hey call me an Uber I mean I just just think either way it can do text and audio so it doesn't
00:52:29
really matter always it has both send text and like he reads the text or something it just takes 10 I'm using
00:52:35
this human as an analogy for my like my desire for an AI assistant like how would I tell a person to do this and a
00:52:41
thumbnail was born so it's like a little little angel on my shoulder marz on your shoulder I
00:52:47
was picturing a leprechaun but that's cool too cool it could be it could be Jake from State Farm whoever I don't
00:52:53
know little person on my shoulder but yeah I need them to be I need to just communicate quickly what I need from
00:52:58
them and then they can take care of it they know big question why would I buy this
00:53:06
mhm I can say there is one other thing that we haven't talked about that I think is it's Mo
00:53:12
it's still in my eyes not worth the price that it is but its most impressive feature is the just like something next
00:53:19
to you that can pretty much live translate if you're holding on to it it seems like it's done a good job at that
00:53:24
it's quicker when it does that from all the demos that I've seen it seems pretty quick where you can just be
00:53:30
like um and and from what I remember they said they said like if you were to land in a country that has a a language
00:53:38
based around it it would know where you are and then if you press the certain gesture to do translation it would
00:53:44
translate English into Spanish yep or and then and when they talk back to you
00:53:49
you can hold the same gesture and then it'll come back into English I think that is a cool feature I think every
00:53:56
Tech demo always has a really really cool translation demo yeah and then
00:54:03
correct the one time you know you actually use it you end up just like using Google translate anyway but in the
00:54:09
off chance it works really well I think that's great I guess what I'm saying is there are a lot of live translations this has seemed like the best one the
00:54:17
best one still don't know how often I would use the most natural feeling kind of more like the one that said they're doing it it and actually does it unlike
00:54:23
the pixel buds doing live translations and stuff that and has a way to communicate back out without you having
00:54:29
to like attempt to read a different language and say that or show on your phone I mean Google translate I mean
00:54:35
when I was in Japan using the Google Translate app it's rock solid I'll just type what I want to say and then hit it
00:54:40
and it says it out loud and then the tax dri goes okay and then if they say something I just record it and then it translates it I'm like I get it I'll
00:54:46
just like that's it's really amazing yeah yeah cool well it works so why
00:54:51
would you want to buy it yeah why who should buy the Humane pin today today
00:54:57
it's $700 it's 24 bucks a month if you are crazy only brand really really
00:55:05
really want to reduce your screen time like at the expense of your own sanity you would just love to look at screens
00:55:12
way way less than you do now so you're willing to offset some of the stuff that you do now with a screen to a device
00:55:19
without a screen you can do that today with the Humane pin it will take longer
00:55:25
to do many you will do many things worse than you originally would have your photos will
00:55:30
look worse your videos will be less than 60 seconds you will just have less capabilities you will have a new phone
00:55:36
number you'll have to charge another device all these things are true but you will have less screen time mission
00:55:42
accomplished that person can buy the Humane AI pin that is the only person
00:55:48
that I think I would recommend it to today in its current state maybe it'll
00:55:54
get some updates new capabilities May maybe I'll reevaluate maybe I'll be really impressed with some updates that it comes out with and maybe I'll want to
00:56:00
use it for something else but as of right now I just don't enjoy using it it's it's tough I really feel like the
00:56:06
the majority of videos that you see trying to show it off feel very like when Google home first came out and
00:56:12
we're like how tall is the Empire State Building how long is the George Washington Bridge like it's just some
00:56:19
kind of random facts how far aways the moon and I feel like 800 bucks for that is I know that's like yeah putting it
00:56:26
down into a small thing but there's not a ton I think what you're observing is it's a really hard product to explain
00:56:32
why people would want to use I think Vision Pro had a similar problem where
00:56:39
it's so cool as a tech demo and then you go open it up and put it on someone's eyes and they go what do I do like at
00:56:46
least they know VR headsets can play games but they're like what do I do with this a lot of other Tech has really
00:56:51
really obvious use cases like when the iPod came out for example exle it's like oh
00:56:57
yes I want to listen to music everywhere I couldn't do that before lots of tech has had this moment I think this is a
00:57:02
super super cool interesting very unique piece of tech from the projector to the
00:57:08
AI to the form factor of a pin I just don't have a use for it yeah that and that's the problem most people probably
00:57:14
have with it I've also got to say in in the analogy to Google home I think that the tension of having to charge another
00:57:21
thing and also having to have another thing in general this is a problem with the rabbit as well you have to charge it
00:57:30
you got to keep it with you in your pocket carry the batteries carry it like that tension is so strong because with
00:57:36
the Google home you keep it in your home all the time and it's just always
00:57:41
available and there and you do not have to think about anything else no friction there's no friction it's just an option
00:57:47
it's it's an option whereas this one's like try to use it for 80% of your things I will say please when we went to
00:57:55
this that's a perfect when we went to this uh this trip to go shoot the car the day that we flew out there which we
00:58:01
had a bunch of cool stuff to do I had this thought at the beginning of the day which is like I don't want to wear this
00:58:07
today there is so much friction of number one I have to drive the seat belt
00:58:12
don't want to do that number two we're going to go to an airport with security with like the metal detector I got to
00:58:18
take it off again take it out I got to keep the extra batteries in my backpack I got to swap out like am I going to take a jacket off on the plane and then
00:58:23
I have to restick the pin again like I thought of so many reasons why I didn't want to carry it and wear it that day that I just didn't charging oh wait I
00:58:30
just realized charging is only through that like stand right there's no just USBC you can plug into the battery or
00:58:37
the actual device is it inductive there's a couple things I'll tell you every single way you can charge so right now I have a battery booster on the back
00:58:44
attached to it and I have a separate battery booster back at my desk so there's a little cradle that I put the
00:58:51
booster in that inductively charges it that's one way so that's charging on the Cradle right now okay the other way is
00:58:56
there's a little like airpods case looking thing and you can put you can put it in there and close that and it'll
00:59:02
charge in there and that is USBC that has USBC so if you want to plug that case into the wall you can and then you
00:59:09
can plug either the booster or the pin with the booster on it in there and it'll close and that'll charge okay
00:59:14
those are those are all the ways you can charge and this is currently sitting at it's so warm for no reason what's my
00:59:22
battery 87% booster 14% remember earlier we were at like yeah
00:59:29
now it's 14 and the normal battery went down from 88 to 87 yeah can I feel how warm it is
00:59:37
yeah the outside here sorry I'm going in your sweer a little
00:59:43
HR it's like it's not crazy warm but it's enough of a warm yeah like there's
00:59:48
just something about a something with a battery feeling that warm against your skin and it's it's the weight of it and
00:59:54
it's just a little bit of like thinking yeah jacket maybe not so bad the pictures in video thing reminds me of
01:00:00
beam remember where it was like to take the photo where you can't really frame it you had to stick your phone against
01:00:06
your chest so that you couldn't see the frame and that's how it would take it and automatically post like yeah you
01:00:11
don't get to see this it takes like three photos you know it's one of my saddest takeaways from this that smartphones are just like
01:00:18
awesome so good yeah and I know we're looking at like headsets and smart glasses and all these other and the
01:00:25
rabbit's just like a Deca cards stack and like the pin like we have all these other cool Gadget experiments but like
01:00:31
smartphones are good yeah going to be hard to take out the smarton it's going to be hard yeah and like it will happen
01:00:38
eventually maybe maybe we're super early smartphones are I think it'll happen eventually breaking news Marquez
01:00:44
brownley thinks smartphones are good I'm saying in case you didn't know man I think that it's good that Tech like this
01:00:52
is being funded because exploring New Concept and ideas and form factors is
01:00:57
good and then also they invent new things for example The Vision Pro there had never been a micro LED display that
01:01:05
had been that dense ever right they had to invent a new screen technology for this that projector is pretty sick dude
01:01:12
that projector like I mean conceptually it might be a little flawed but to pull
01:01:17
off a laser projector that small with that thanks with that sort of focal
01:01:25
distance is there's two mirrors in there it bounces twice from the diode
01:01:31
before com out the projector on this thing is actually pretty impressive I had extremely little faith but like you
01:01:38
can see it very well controlling it is a whole another story I think that's kind of clunky but like being able to see it
01:01:45
in bright light you can see it in the sunlight is pretty well I mean we've been doing it in here with the huge Windows behind us and I've never had an
01:01:51
issue seeing it that's pretty crazy also you know to get a little more FOC doesn't say have that mirror system and
01:01:57
and your shirt moves you walk around like that's not that's like a feet you know that they accomplished yeah again
01:02:04
Hardware on this is great I think it looks kind of like an apple watch with a forehead but um yeah but the actual
01:02:12
Hardware the like the hand feel of it everything of it feels super premium and it seems like they put a wild amount of
01:02:19
work into making it do what it does and the the the idea of a a a mobile
01:02:26
computer that it is impossible to Doom scroll on yeah good that's good right
01:02:32
that is good I think that in almost every category in Tech there's things that have to walk so that something else
01:02:37
can run and like you know this is crawl on baby this is the very begin the fish
01:02:43
first out of water like slugging across the fish doesn't have lungs yet like
01:02:49
who gasping yeah yeah I don't know I mean it's good that we're experimenting but
01:02:56
it's the very beginning of this like AI push and maybe we see that almost none of this AI stuff is that handy but or at
01:03:03
least in a hardware format we'll see I am interested to see when more people get this and figure some more things out
01:03:10
about it because like yeah I do think it's really easy for a company to make something and be in love with it and
01:03:16
think everything is amazing and then maybe don't do a very good job of showing off what it's like but then it
01:03:21
gets into the hands of people who will just put it through the ringer and like maybe find some really cool things so in
01:03:28
a few months maybe some people find some really interesting things to do about it don't know if that will save everything
01:03:33
we talked about today but the fact that it takes a few months is fascinating because like I think you should any new
01:03:39
form factor you think you you'll have like a killer app app meaning like physical application like with the
01:03:45
headset on the killer app is I can put you in another world right now okay sure I'll try it the with the iPod you had
01:03:52
the killer app with the boosted board you had a killer app like all form factors had a killer app and with
01:03:58
this pin what's what's the killer app I don't know yeah I do think there is this
01:04:05
weird tension between privacy and usefulness oh yeah I totally agree in a
01:04:12
perfect world if you if we didn't give a any care about privacy whatsoever and
01:04:17
the camera was always recording right or at least taking like an image every 15
01:04:23
seconds so that at any time you could just be like ah where are my keys where are my keys they're on the couch boom
01:04:30
that'd be great it it listens to every conversation that you saying you want a better Google clip Google Clips yeah
01:04:37
yeah well think of the human version of that the humans on your shoulder all the time so the second you put your keys
01:04:42
down he noticed yeah there's a there's a another AI product coming out soon I
01:04:48
think called the uh rewind pendant and it does exactly that sounds like from Harry Potter or something yeah it it
01:04:55
like hangs in the center of your chest and it has a little camera and then it records all audio and all video of
01:05:01
everything that you do all day does it die in like an hour yeah and what storage system do you need to it's all
01:05:07
it's like uploaded to the cloud of your phone or something entirely local on your phone yeah local on entirely local
01:05:12
on your phone you have to just dump footage priv it's privacy for you but for nobody else wow so I don't think
01:05:19
we're ever going to live in that world even if that's the most Ideal World because that's the world in which this would be helpful and that's kind of an
01:05:26
allegory to all of this like large language model technology is that it just needs more information like you
01:05:32
were saying if it has all the information about you all the time then it's it's great and that's why I think
01:05:38
that Google's probably in the best position of all of these companies because they have all of these Services
01:05:43
have all your information yeah you just press once you just tap allow Google to access everything about you yes boom
01:05:49
great AI product yeah but uh anything that's third party that's not based on your accounts is going to have a hard
01:05:55
time the philosophy of this product feels like a lot of Apple Engineers worked on it it's like a beautiful
01:06:02
Hardware device that like they expect you to use exclusively you know like it
01:06:07
plugs into other things oh there it is it plugs into other things but they really want like they expect you to just
01:06:13
use this not your phone it doesn't connect with your phone you get a whole new number you know like it's very Apple
01:06:18
it is confusing because I still don't think they say that you shouldn't use your phone but at the same time they make it like you shouldn't use your
01:06:24
phone yeah it's confusing I'm a little I don't how they couldn't figure out text
01:06:30
message for writing or something like that I just just connect to your phone I it's insane I actually think this would
01:06:36
have a lot more life breathed into it if it was a companion to your phone 100% agree yeah if it was like a accessory it
01:06:42
can still have its own number and stuff for if there's times where you decide you don't want to bring your phone but then if like cuz there's the the Apple
01:06:49
watch do that right so this is this is the big thing with the Apple watch versus other watches and part of the
01:06:54
lawsuit that the Apple watch can has your same phone number when you add cellular to it but no other smartw
01:07:02
watches with LTE can do that only the Apple watch can that's why that was part of the the lawsuit but this the thing
01:07:07
the Apple watch has the same phone number as you so why can't the this do it I think this might be philosophical
01:07:14
but if we look at this more in the vein of this is a future form factor that you might wear all the time like smart
01:07:20
glasses or Vision Pro for example Vision Pro does not connect to your phone and I think if they set the Press
01:07:26
now that it connects your phone you'll never be Co okay with it not connecting
01:07:31
your phone what you're so if it connects your phone now and they aim for you to in five years use it totally separate
01:07:36
from your phone and you announce it no longer connects to your phone that that just doesn't fly I like want to argue
01:07:42
with you even though I know that doesn't mean that's what you think it should do but right I mean cool it it's got to
01:07:48
make it that long then and I think if it's right now in a position where it's not connected to your phone maybe someone in the comments can
01:07:55
be like what they're really excited to use this for and what they plan on actually changing in their life because
01:08:01
of it but like yeah I have such a hard time telling anyone to even think about
01:08:07
purchasing this yeah I I want I would think that within a a year or so they
01:08:12
will get purchased by another company for the hardware technology and that's pretty much it for the talent the
01:08:19
intellectual property and the hardware design yeah yeah the projector specifically fair enough Fair enough
01:08:26
well I do think we should let them continue to develop and hope they get that far we should take a break we've gone for an eternity on this I am
01:08:33
working on the full review so hopefully on the main Channel soon you'll hear a succinct version of my thoughts and my experience using the Humane pin but we
01:08:41
still have headlines in a hat over there I see some headlines in a hat so we're going to take a quick break and before
01:08:46
that we should do some [Music]
01:08:53
trivia howdy friends so our audience responded just so positively glad to our
01:09:01
crazy frog question two weeks ago so I decided to go back to the YouTube top 30
01:09:07
alltime list for another Banger of a question of the top 30 YouTube videos
01:09:14
the top 30 most viewed YouTube videos of all time how many are not music videos
01:09:23
songs music videos or content for Young Children of the top 30 of the top how
01:09:30
many are not dang songs music videos or content for young children and before
01:09:37
you ask me to Define content for young children you know exactly what the hell that me you know exactly what the hell
01:09:42
I'm talking about yeah well I like baby shark that is song a music video and
01:09:50
content for small children there are a few on the list that are all three that is correct yeah there's definitely some
01:09:58
K-pop how many are K-pop is my question K-pop uh okay I have a guess we'll
01:10:04
probably all have guesses we'll think about it we'll be right [Music]

01:11:25
welcome back that's the sound of headlines in a
01:11:30
what in a hat of course oh oh headlines in a hat excited um since this is just an abbreviated section of the podcast
01:11:37
instead of the whole episode today we're going to do like a reaction style headlines and a hat so we're going to get the headline and then I want everyone's one sentence reaction how
01:11:43
does that sound we have a lot of headlines I want everyone to know that Marquez thought about this during the commercial break I think it's a good
01:11:49
idea we're probably six hours into this week's pod so I think that's a good idea all right uh first headline read S Tesla
01:11:57
Robo taxis I think the headline in full I'll find it I'm like Imagining the one
01:12:02
sentence as like we need to each say a sentence and go around like the create your own story with one word are not
01:12:09
ever going to come out all this really is is Elon Musk says Tesla will reveal
01:12:15
its Robo taxi on August 8th that's the headline what's your one sentence nice
01:12:21
flick my one sentence reaction what the hell is even
01:12:26
that what about model 2 well that got uh okay is that supposed to be me now yeah
01:12:34
oh canceled I think we te work that pretty well yeah yeah yeah alternate headline
01:12:39
reaction what year okay wait it just says April 8th it doesn't say that would
01:12:45
be really funny August 8 not August sorry they theoretically canceled the mude project yeah uh no $25,000 taxi uh
01:12:53
car and the Robo taxis are probably going to be scary they've been telling
01:12:58
people they've been saying Robo taxis are just your car but with self-driving so like what what do you mean yeah how are they announcing it what the hell man
01:13:05
this is the longest run on sentence between three people no I'm just kidding I don't care I think we should say
01:13:10
something me trying to reach the word limit in high school yeah Google AI editing features
01:13:16
comes to Google photos called it includes magic editor
01:13:22
Magic Eraser photo and blur portrait light oh so it's coming to Google photos for free for everybody for free and
01:13:29
Google photos like online uh yeah well yeah on the that that's my one word
01:13:36
that's okay dope my sentence is caveat
01:13:41
colon uh there are Hardware requirements so on Chrome OS oh you have to have a Chrome
01:13:49
book plus device what with three gigs of RAM or higher and chromos versus 118 118
01:13:56
or higher you have to have a phone with Android 8.0 or iOS 15 or higher that's
01:14:02
my sentence can I redo my sentence what if I'm on iOS iOS 15 or higher so it has
01:14:07
to be Chrome OS on a computer no if you're doing it on Chrome OS oh okay so
01:14:13
this all tells me that there is some local processing happening as well as
01:14:19
the cloud which is surprising to me anyway Marquez needs a reply to this uh just like clockwork
01:14:28
true Everything Google eventually becomes free and comes to
01:14:33
everybody okay in exchange for all your data Quest three gets lying down mode my
01:14:40
one sentence my legs meta colen thank God for Vision Pro
01:14:49
for beta testing what we need to do to make a very popular VR headset nice yeah yeah
01:14:56
yeah is it your turn or my turn uh you can go I've got one it didn't have that question
01:15:03
mark why would why would I need that you couldn't lay down in the quest before
01:15:09
I'm sure it's trying to look and see the ground through the bottom and once you lie down it can't see the ground and it's confused I that would be my guess
01:15:16
is that like the the floor detection is such an integral part to the meta Quest
01:15:21
OS that sometimes I this is Quest three by the way it already got pushed to Quest two like a few weeks ago which is
01:15:28
ironic marz what's your sentence not going to use that you're not going to lay in bed and
01:15:35
watch Dune 2 no all right I might lean back in a chair but on the ground on the
01:15:41
is watching Dune confirmed confirms not on the ground in bed I guess I guess I would do that why lay on the
01:15:49
ground with the VR headset I could do whatever the hell I want the VR headset I'm not on the ground I'm in the VR
01:15:56
Apple publishes paper on feret UI uh Apple's teaching an AI system to
01:16:02
make sense of app screens could power an advanced Siri wait can I go first sure
01:16:08
I'm giving my sentence to David so he can have two sentences okay CU I feel like you're I'm giving my sentence to
01:16:14
David so he can have three sentences wow incredible I'll give my no I'm taking mine back actually so have to okay uh
01:16:22
all right let's see careful Siri can now see stuff in your
01:16:33
world your sentence can still be in like flowing English oh okay okay rabbit's
01:16:40
entire concept was supposed to be to be able to make sense of apps and act for
01:16:47
you comma Now Siri or whatever iOS may
01:16:53
be able to make sense of your apps Etc comma and therefore it may be able to
01:17:00
act on actions much like a large action model might period sentence one sentence
01:17:08
two oh wait can I take my sentence back just kidding no you keep going I
01:17:13
mean I'll do two and then you can take one okay perfect um this is what we would say would this
01:17:20
is what we said would happen that's that's what
01:17:25
and my third sentence is uh rabbit said that they patented the hell out of this
01:17:32
period I mean comma so what's going to happen now question mark yeah yeah
01:17:38
ellipses yeah I would say um this is what rabbit was afraid of
01:17:46
semicolon I bet Apple's lawyers will find a way to do this without infringing any of rabbit's patents yeah that's my
01:17:52
sentence also between rabbit and whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa how many sentences how many sentences you can
01:17:59
keep going ask how many sentences if these both flop at least rabbit already sold like 100,000 of them and we'll get
01:18:06
a bag on you know how many Humanes sold I don't think they made that public I don't think they
01:18:12
should damn $700 yeah it's $700 the rabbit one was in is it was close enough
01:18:19
to the like this looks fun and interesting in his teenage engineering es and it's $200 it's not a subscription
01:18:24
and it's not the commitment is $200 and you just get the toy and you play with it and if you hate it it sucks and throw it away if you buy the Humane pin it's
01:18:31
$700 and a contract and a new phone number and new people have a new phone number for you and you pay $24 a month
01:18:37
for however long yeah yeah that's a commitment just saying so okay that's a lot of sentences wa don't I get a
01:18:44
sentence I didn't my sentence is both apple and rabbit picked stinky
01:18:50
animals are rabbits stinky ferrets are stinky yeah yes both
01:18:55
stinky probably because they don't take
01:19:01
showers says who FS take like dust bass no those are chinchillas what's a dust
01:19:06
no we got to get through this Google it if you're curious I know I will I love good T baths beeper
01:19:13
acquired by automatic yes is that how you pronounce that are there two T's in automatic yeah there are wait in in the
01:19:20
company name not in the actual word yeah that was my sentence well that was just
01:19:25
the headline oh are those CTS in automatic okay did they spell that right
01:19:31
was beeper the one that signed you in in Eastern Europe no no that was the other one that was um Sun Sunbird which got
01:19:40
obliterated and is apparently coming back by the way I saw a headline about this they're not buried under nothing's
01:19:46
headquarters they should be okay my sentence is
01:19:51
uh beeper was acquired by the people who make WordPress and
01:19:58
Tumblr comma they are now merging with text.com which was basically the alternative form
01:20:05
of Bieber oh uh and now beer is open to everybody so
01:20:12
they had a $450,000 dollar PE person weight list that is now just open to
01:20:19
everyone that's my sentence my sentence is I don't get it just use
01:20:25
WhatsApp Mar do we really want to go down this road I'm content farming guys
01:20:30
come on uh maybe I should just try one of these
01:20:36
things comma because I don't understand
01:20:41
it not fun BL not worth it well you I get the idea made it all messages in one
01:20:48
inbox you don't get like IM message back you don't get IM message you made it
01:20:53
this far why even it's like a consolidation like platform that takes everything from Instagram DMS to I
01:21:01
prefer the cont switching to be I also do they also make Pocket Casts yeah
01:21:07
automatic they own it they own it they didn't make it they've acquired a lot of stuff yeah yeah I didn't know that that was part of their portfolio yeah they've
01:21:13
got an incredible portfolio I love this is good for open ecosystems because they
01:21:19
a lot of their like philosophy is things like that pocketcast Tumblr WordPress they're all very open and now they've
01:21:25
bought beeper which is nice
01:21:34
yeah leave that in Google vids Google vids okay uh this one Google just
01:21:40
unveiled Google vids which is effectively Google Slides but for video
01:21:46
uh so effectively you can collect a bunch of assets from Google Drive and turn them into a video and the aim is to
01:21:54
to make it as easy as possible to create a video uh Dash uh it's very work Spacey
01:22:03
SL like corporate in the way that the point is that you can collect a bunch of assets and then do like a voiceover or
01:22:10
record from your webcam and they just make an incredibly simple UI that allows
01:22:16
you to do like a little two-minute tutorial that you can share with your team or that kind of thing because most people don't have you know video
01:22:22
creation features and what they're probably doing right now now is pointing their phone at a screen and it's just
01:22:28
terrible um semic semicolon def actually yes semin I think
01:22:35
that we helped develop this question well I can't use the question mark that's the end of sense develop this comma because a year ago Google called
01:22:43
me and asked me about our video production process and specifically
01:22:48
about the video editing workflows that we use um lots of companies ask about and
01:22:54
then they just don't do anything useful they said they were making a video editing app and that's what this is so
01:23:00
that sounds like Google because when they talked to me originally it sounded like they were trying to make like a
01:23:06
final cut competitor but then it became corporate yeah they're like we can't sell ads in this yeah let's change it so
01:23:14
uh my sentence start the countdown timer I genuinely believe this will be
01:23:21
dead this is in a brutal mood I read the headline for this one I was like this one's gone in 3 years 100% I'd
01:23:29
put money on it I have one cool for teachers yeah yeah they can send it to
01:23:35
their students Clara's done like so many like quick video things for her students
01:23:41
especially when they were doing like remote stuff this would be huge for teachers I'm going to try to keep this
01:23:46
to a sentence but I hard disagree with you Marquez I think this is their cap
01:23:52
cut how Tik Tok has cap cut a video editing thing yeah but it sorry continue
01:23:59
yeah I was just going to say this is their version of that like I could see them but it's not for like making videos for social media it's specifically for
01:24:06
they could just easily add a template that's vertical and for social media I you have to pull in things from like Google Drive okay I think both of you
01:24:12
can be right this could be the next big thing but when it becomes it they'll name it something else and kill Google
01:24:19
vids oh yeah I just I think that there's a lot of
01:24:28
assuming they the team is funded enough to continue adding features through the three-year lifespan it will have um I do
01:24:35
think there's a a a lot of niches it can fill like uh there's just a lot of like
01:24:40
weird online video editing apps that do like very specific things like have you guys ever used headliner before no it's
01:24:47
like a pretty popular one where it's for podcasters so you like connect it with your RSS feed it automatically pulls the
01:24:54
art you give it a Time code of your last episode and it automatically generates you uh a video with captions for social
01:25:02
media um and I think if they can build little features into it like that to
01:25:07
fill these like very Niche uses it'll be a pretty essential part of the G Suite I
01:25:13
actually think it it could be really cool for a lot of different scenarios yeah for teachers it would be great so yeah maybe as like a competitor to
01:25:21
iMovie but maybe as like yeah to like fill off fill in these Niche video tools
01:25:28
uh also the was not a punctuation mark so this is probably still one also it's all online which is really cool like you
01:25:35
just do it all in the cloud and I don't know as part of the Google one workspace I feel like it makes a lot of sense is
01:25:41
that what it's called now I think it's great I just yeah for sure yeah if it
01:25:46
doesn't make a billion dollars yeah hey look I got I got one headline left in
01:25:51
the Hat is it my turn put the Hat on I don't know sure all right here's the last
01:25:57
headline oh this is the shortest one ah Google Gemini 1.5 Pro can Now understand
01:26:06
audio my sentence is the spaghetti was like one year
01:26:11
ago oh true um I think it was less than
01:26:17
that sorry uh Al um you can te ldr
01:26:26
waveform don't give them ideas listen to the whole
01:26:32
thing and like and sub yeah well
01:26:38
hey that's the last headline we did it thank you for listening to this extensive sixh hour special version of
01:26:45
waveform for uh for making it to the end we uh offer you the privilege of
01:26:52
commenting the word Snicker doodle and knowing what it means because
01:26:58
you got this far and others who didn't get this far won't know what that means but when you see it in the comment
01:27:03
section and you and you type that you'll know you're one of the people who got this far yeah yeah that's uh I think
01:27:10
it's trivia time cool I forgot about Tri the Snicker doodle thing really threw me off Loop quick update on the score
01:27:19
Marquez in the lead with six Andrew and David bringing up the rear with five
01:27:27
each crazy thank you okay first question how many teeth do adult humans
01:27:37
have Google Jam board pixel pass and remember these are
01:27:43
Price is Right rules guess too many teeth and you're out Google
01:27:50
onhub Google stadia thread it thread it thread it
01:27:57
when was that killed over one year ago thread it was a tool for recording and sharing short videos it was almost 2
01:28:03
years old Google vids got killed already already got interesting oh my God flip
01:28:10
them and read what do you got oh boy wow we all counted very differently we all have a Delta of two Marquez let me count
01:28:17
your teeth I just counted I have 28 or I had 28 are you sure about that so I said
01:28:22
28 you had 28 I had 28 now I have 24 according to my count my count was with
01:28:28
my tongue I don't know 28 is my answer 28 is below the correct answer David
01:28:33
what do you have 30 30 is also below the correct answer which puts you ahead of Marquez Andrew 32 which is the exact
01:28:41
number of teeth best counter in waveform that's what I was going to guess but I
01:28:46
wanted to lowball it 32 teeth huh let's go a good strategy David but unfortunately great w sharks out here
01:28:53
hold on we all counted our teeth and all got different answers I didn't count my teeth mhm I tried and I couldn't tell
01:29:00
the difference if like my teeth just kind of had a little wavy part or if it was a separate tooth yeah I gave up I also didn't count
01:29:07
my teeth cuz I knew the answer I thought it was 32 I just got the same number
01:29:14
again you better call that take are they didn't take a couple extra out that
01:29:20
earthquake knocked a couple oops that would explain in the massive cavity wow
01:29:26
yeah dang okay well fair play Andrew well well played okay good job tied for
01:29:32
lead now right or is mar has two outad of me you're tied in first place you carried the one bro is this also Price
01:29:39
Right rules this next one uh no got to get the exact number I don't know what do you got I can uh I don't want to do
01:29:45
PR should we do why don't we closest Delta yeah let's do closest Delta for this one I like that all right so of the
01:29:53
top 30 most viewed YouTube videos of all
01:29:59
time how many are not how many are not songs music videos or content for young
01:30:09
children YouTube Go Android auto for phone screens angular
01:30:16
JavaScript cameos on Google Android things Google my business business
01:30:25
I was on a plane today I'm feeling a little loopy Google Duo material
01:30:31
Gallery Google Toolbar what about aloe or inbox next week next week I'm glad this
01:30:38
is a bit all right what do we got all right wow Marquez I said
01:30:47
one David three I said zero that is correct
01:30:54
it wa wait wait wait oh I'm I'm a I'm a dummy why what you I was thinking me at
01:31:03
the zoo was no it's not that we're top 30 we're talking like two
01:31:10
billion plus every single one let yeah the 30th Andro over here I felt like zero is either like feels like a genius
01:31:17
or what an idiot so you actually it's the the number 30 which is lean on by
01:31:23
major laser has 3.57 billion views so you got to really rack them up to make
01:31:29
this list I actually wrote zero and eras it but I I should have gotten that right and that's that's on me when you erased
01:31:35
it were there videos you thought were in no cuz I knew the fact that uh almost
01:31:40
every single one is a music video and I was like how many are not music videos and I knew like Peppa Pig there's a
01:31:46
couple and I was like there's probably like four but then I remember you said also children's content and I'm like dang I think I think all of them are
01:31:52
either children's content or music videos I was like but it can't be all of them so I put one but yeah well played
01:31:58
Andrew that's that's a good answer you all thought about a lot of YouTube I thought about how's Ellis going to screw
01:32:04
us over on this one I might have to start thinking about that yeah you smart about that play the game I'm not I don't usually do trick questions I I play a
01:32:11
fair game of trivia my point this week suggests [Laughter]
01:32:17
otherwise on that note we will uh wrap up the Pod thanks again for watching and listening Snicker doodle we appreciate
