00:00:00
What is good my exhies? It's your boy
00:00:01
Jacob Cuten. Welcome to a special
00:00:03
edition, special announcement episode. I
00:00:07
don't even think we can call this an
00:00:08
episode. Okay guys, this is like bonus
00:00:10
content uh for the podcast because today
00:00:13
I don't have a guest. I'm not sharing
00:00:15
stories from my own life. I'm not doing
00:00:16
a book review. I'm not giving you my top
00:00:18
three woes of being a homeschooler.
00:00:20
Nothing like that. Today I'm showing off
00:00:22
a tool that I think will be helpful for
00:00:24
you guys, will be helpful for me, will
00:00:26
be helpful for new audience members, uh,
00:00:28
to better, you know, dive into the
00:00:31
content, dive into the podcast itself.
00:00:33
So, what am I talking about exactly? You
00:00:35
know, one of the biggest woes with
00:00:37
podcasting is the ability to go back and
00:00:39
reference things. Okay, I think most of
00:00:41
us have been there where we'll listen to
00:00:43
a podcast, it'll be great. We're like, I
00:00:45
want to reference this later. two weeks,
00:00:47
three weeks, a month goes by and we've
00:00:50
totally forgotten like when it was, who
00:00:52
was the guest, what was the topic,
00:00:54
anything like that. Um, and so searching
00:00:56
back through all that content can
00:00:58
sometimes be really daunting, right?
00:01:00
This tool that I'm about to show you
00:01:02
hopefully will solve that. Okay, let's
00:01:04
get into it. So, this is Podspun. And
00:01:07
essentially what Podspun is is like a
00:01:09
second brain, a catalog if you will, of
00:01:12
all of the episodes of the
00:01:13
Exhomeschoolers club. And what it's
00:01:15
going to do is give you guys the ability
00:01:17
to search through the captions or to ask
00:01:19
it questions around topics that you want
00:01:22
to hear about. So, how does it work?
00:01:24
Let's say we want to search our
00:01:26
captions. A big topic lately on the show
00:01:28
has been ADHD. So, if we put that into
00:01:31
the search, click enter, take a minute,
00:01:34
and then it'll pull up all of these
00:01:36
episodes uh where we reference ADHD. So
00:01:39
you can see here it's pulling a little
00:01:41
bit from the transcript and saying,
00:01:42
"Okay, there's a moment here where we
00:01:43
talk about ADHD. There's a moment in
00:01:45
this episode we talk about it. There's
00:01:47
two moments in this one. Here's a
00:01:50
moment." Right? And so maybe that can
00:01:52
help us narrow in on a specific
00:01:54
conversation. This one we have a lot of
00:01:56
moments on ADHD. So if you're really
00:01:58
wanting a full conversation where that's
00:02:00
a lot of what we talked about, maybe
00:02:02
this is the one. And you can come
00:02:04
through and say, "Hey, I want to see
00:02:06
this particular statement here." Right?
00:02:08
Click watch this moment and it'll pull
00:02:10
up that episode at that particular
00:02:13
timestamp. So you can watch from then
00:02:15
on. You can see all of the chapters in
00:02:17
the episode. You can scroll through the
00:02:19
transcript on the left side here. So if
00:02:21
you know exactly what was said, you can
00:02:23
search for that exact statement and go
00:02:25
hunting for it in the podcast. The
00:02:28
second way that we can use this is ask
00:02:30
AI. So let's say I want to know some
00:02:32
opinions on homeschooling. opinions on
00:02:37
homeschooling, right? Put that in the
00:02:39
Ask AI bar and after a few seconds, it's
00:02:42
going to spit out some of the opinions
00:02:44
from episodes, right? Homeschooling can
00:02:47
be a good option for some families, but
00:02:48
it's not universally ideal. The decision
00:02:50
should be made based on individual
00:02:52
family circumstances, access to
00:02:54
resources, and the motivations behind
00:02:55
choosing homeschooling. Several guests
00:02:57
stressed the importance of avoiding
00:02:58
restrictive ideologies such as Christian
00:03:00
nationalism, purity culture, patriarchy,
00:03:03
uh, which can be prevalent in some
00:03:04
homeschooling communities. Right? So,
00:03:06
these are pulling answers directly from
00:03:08
my guest directly from those
00:03:10
transcripts. And then over here, it's
00:03:12
pulled some related moments, right? Uh,
00:03:14
I was totally opposed to homeschooling.
00:03:17
I think that the decision to homeschool
00:03:19
has to be made by each individual. And
00:03:21
again, if we click on this, it'll take
00:03:23
us directly into that episode at a
00:03:25
timestamp where I'm asking, in this
00:03:27
case, Lydia, uh, a direct question about
00:03:30
her opinions on homeschooling and where
00:03:32
it stands today. Now that you guys have
00:03:34
seen this thing in action, I would love
00:03:35
for you to try it out for yourselves.
00:03:37
Link is going to be down in the
00:03:39
description below. Go check it out, play
00:03:41
around with it, ask it questions, uh,
00:03:43
try to break this thing, okay? This is a
00:03:45
brand new tool. I met the inventor. He
00:03:47
set me up with this. He really wants to
00:03:49
make this the best possible tool for
00:03:51
searching through podcast and finding
00:03:53
those moments uh that are those key
00:03:56
moments, right? Those golden nugget
00:03:57
moments. And so, uh, anything that you
00:03:59
guys can come up with, whether it's
00:04:00
topics for the show, whether it's new
00:04:02
features you want on this program,
00:04:03
whatever, shoot me an email
00:04:07
Let me know all of those things and uh
00:04:09
I'll make sure they get forwarded to the
00:04:11
correct people. Okay, until we see you
00:04:13
next time. Peace.
