Haleigh Cummings /// Part 1 /// 311

June 18, 2019 / 01:04:17

This episode covers the case of missing five-year-old Hailey Cummings, the 911 call made by her babysitter Misty Crossland, and the involvement of her father Ronald Cummings. Key discussions include the timeline of events leading up to Hailey's disappearance, the background of the Cummings family, and the inconsistencies in the statements made during the 911 call.

The episode begins with the 911 call placed by Misty Crossland, who reported that Hailey was missing after finding the back door of the trailer home propped open. Misty, a 17-year-old babysitter, was watching Hailey and her brother Ron Jr. when the incident occurred. Ronald Cummings, Hailey's father, arrived home shortly after the call was made and expressed anger and frustration over the situation.

Listeners learn about the chaotic nature of the 911 call, including Ronald's background and his relationship with Misty. The episode highlights the tension between the callers and the 911 operator, as Ronald's aggressive demeanor complicates the situation. The episode also discusses the family's troubled history, including custody disputes and allegations of abuse.

As the investigation unfolds, the episode emphasizes the urgency of the search for Hailey, with law enforcement quickly mobilizing resources. The narrative raises questions about the credibility of the accounts given by both Misty and Ronald, as inconsistencies in their stories emerge.

The episode concludes with the issuance of an Amber Alert for Hailey, marking the beginning of a nationwide search for the missing child. The case remains a tragic example of the complexities involved in child abduction cases.

TLDR

The episode discusses the disappearance of Hailey Cummings and the chaotic 911 call made by her babysitter Misty Crossland.

00:10:14
[Music] that is a 911 call that came in to the Putnam County Florida sheriff's office
00:10:24
at 3:27 a.m. on Tuesday February 10th 2009 now as you can hear there are some strange things on this call first we
00:10:35
should point out that the caller is misty Crossland she says she noticed around 3:00 a.m. that little five year
00:10:42
old Hayley Cummings is missing the call to 911 was not place until 327 misty says she found the back door of the
00:10:51
trailer home which she states is always locked propped open with a brick this turns out to be a cinder block the
00:11:00
police believe came from the yard outside of the home the man heard in the background and then on the phone is
00:11:06
Ronald Cummings yea they claimed the brick was propping open the screen door Ronald is 25 years old and Hayley's
00:11:14
father and Misty is Ronald's 17-year old girlfriend Ronald was at work and Misty
00:11:20
stayed home to watch Ronald's two children Haley and her brother three-year-old Ron jr. two deputies were
00:11:28
dispatched to 2:02 Green Drive in the small town of Satsuma they arrived at the double-wide trailer home at 3:40
00:11:36
a.m. when we say trailer home we are referring to those modular 1 level homes that are not portable but also not built
00:11:44
into the ground this trailer had dark green carpeting throughout most of the living areas
00:11:50
green and white floral wallpaper and one bedroom two bathrooms and a kitchen upon
00:11:57
arrival deputies found a white male standing in the driveway who was visibly upset he identified himself as Ronald
00:12:05
Cummings he said his daughter Hayley Cummings age 5 was missing Ron said he had just got home from work and his
00:12:13
quote dumb [ __ ] girlfriend told him his daughter was missing Ron then repeatedly
00:12:19
said that someone had taken his child and said quote when I find him I'll kill him deputies then spoke with Mystique
00:12:26
Roslyn the girl who called 911 misty was babysitting Hayley and her little brother Ron
00:12:32
near that evening now we need to explain a little bit of background here mystique Roslyn was from a local family
00:12:40
with a long history of bad behavior her parents were both drug addicts and alcoholics with long records and Misty
00:12:48
dropped out of school in the sixth grade misty met Ronald Cummings a few months earlier at the school bus stop for the
00:12:55
trailer park where misty would accompany her nephew she started babysitting for Ron's kids Ron Hailey's and Ron juniors
00:13:04
father was 25 years old it was divorced from the kids mother Krystal Sheffield whom he had also met
00:13:12
when she was a minor and who had gotten pregnant with Hailey when she was just 17 Ronald had custody of the kids there
00:13:21
are varying reports for the reasons for this some say it's because Ron had health insurance through his job that
00:13:28
covered the children some say that it's because crystal was a habitual drug user
00:13:33
and was negligent in any event Ron had the kids well on the other claim too is that she didn't have a job at the time
00:13:40
so he would actually be the only parent that could support them crystal got the children every other weekend ron wasn't
00:13:49
an angel either he had a history of arrests their relationship was acrimonious with
00:13:56
custody disputes and allegations of both spousal and child abuse levelled at Ron
00:14:02
by crystal and drug arrests on both sides Ron had been looked into by the Florida Department of Children and
00:14:09
Families at least once this is because crystal said that Hailey missed school a lot and had visible injuries from
00:14:16
beatings by Ron for her part there is no doubt that crystal had a problem with drugs in the past and it possibly
00:14:24
persisted in the year of 2009 the deputy on the scene quickly deduced the 17 year
00:14:31
old misty was not just the babysitter she was sleeping and Ron Cummings bed and she told the 911 dispatcher that
00:14:39
quote our daughter was missing misty and Ron were romantically involved for a few
00:14:46
month Misty's family lived nearby at 116 Tyler Street misty told the deputy does she
00:14:53
put the children to bed at approximately 8:00 p.m. she did some laundry and then
00:14:57
she went to bed around 10:00 to 10:30 in the same bed as the kids this is in the
00:15:03
master bedroom of the trailer home both kids were peacefully sleeping at that time misty said she woke up at 3:00 a.m.
00:15:11
to get a drink of water and then saw the kitchen light was on and the back door was propped open with the brick mm-hmm
00:15:20
she then ran back to the bedroom and noticed that hailey was missing misty ran around frantically looking for the
00:15:27
child looking under beds and in the closet she said that Ron arrived home from work around 325 and told her to
00:15:36
call the police he handed the phone to her and you can hear him say something to the effect of [ __ ] how did you get
00:15:44
my daughter stole very soon after deputies arrived on the scene Ron's mother Teresa arrived she pulled
00:15:53
up to the scene bearing a 8 by 10 class photo of Haley hmm Ron had called her and told her what was
00:16:01
happening she later said that she lived about 15 miles away and had driven like a bat out of hell to get to Ron's house
00:16:08
to help find her granddaughter she was sure that hailey was just hiding somewhere and would be found now the
00:16:16
search is going to begin at this time but before we get into that just throwing this out here some people have
00:16:22
questioned Teresa's timeline that it just doesn't add up right she lived 15 miles away yet arrived on the scene
00:16:30
within five minutes apparently of Ron calling her supposedly while misty was still on the phone with 911 with her the
00:16:40
class photo in hand right people have pointed out that maybe she was aware of the situation before police what they
00:16:48
told police they notified her of this situation was also kind estranged that his
00:16:53
girlfriend's using his phone to call 911 and he's apparently using her phone to call his mother
00:16:59
right and there's also the statement of Teresa his mother saying I'm sure that hailey was just hiding somewhere yet she
00:17:08
she was thoughtful enough to bring the class photo with her right and the fact that chances are just
00:17:16
knowing what I know about Haley's father he probably doesn't actually have a school picture of his own daughter so
00:17:22
let's discuss the events of the day before Hayley disappeared according to misty Braun and some witnesses these
00:17:31
events were normal in the morning Ron misty Ron jr. and Hayley drove to Hayley's grandmother's home to get some
00:17:39
clothes Hayley wanted to wear to school that morning before they left they had breakfast then they dropped off Hayley
00:17:46
at browning Pierce school the start time 8:45 a.m. Ron and Misty went back to bed
00:17:54
until noon or so and they did some stuff around the house until Ron picked up Hayley at the school bus stop at 3:20
00:18:02
Ron then left for work we know that he arrived at PDM about 45 minutes early for his 5:00 p.m. shift at 5:00 p.m.
00:18:13
misty called Ron to see why the air-conditioning Repair guy arrived at their house she handed the phone to the
00:18:21
repairman to speak with wrong at this point Misty's brother Tommy Crossland Tommy's real name if you're gonna look
00:18:28
these individuals up online his real name is Hank Crossland jr. but he goes by Tommy mm-hmm so this man Tommy was
00:18:37
also at the house with with the kids and they were playing with Ron Jr and Hayley he has kids of his own that he
00:18:44
brought with him as well at 5:30 or so Tom and his kids and the repairman they all left the home around
00:18:53
6:00 p.m. misty said she started dinner and cooked for about 30 to 45 minutes meanwhile Hayley and Ron Jr were
00:19:00
watching movies and 7:00 p.m. the kids were seen eating dinner on the front porch this is by their grandmother she
00:19:09
stopped over to deliver some clothes after dinner prior to getting Hayley to bed misty said she put Hayley's blanket
00:19:17
in the washer because it smelled like pee like urine Hayley went to bed at approximately 8
00:19:23
p.m. this is her normal bedtime according to misty on a school night she was wearing her pink Hannah Montana
00:19:32
shirt and underwear now note though that the police report says pink shirt and tan shorts right at 8:30 misty said she
00:19:42
had a fight with Ron over the phone and she turned her phone off between eight and nine thirty misty was doing laundry
00:19:50
she stated it took probably thirty minutes for it to wash in probably 60 minutes for it to dry and soon as that
00:19:59
was done she went to bed in the room with the two children where she slept yeah so they have a I'd say maybe a
00:20:06
queen-size bed that they slept in and then there it looked like the mattress pad that you would actually put into a
00:20:14
crib but it wasn't in a crib it was just on the floor right and you'll notice throughout this episode in the next one
00:20:21
discussing this case and discussing the the details of the events leading up to and the details right around and shortly
00:20:29
after the 9-1-1 call they will change a little bit and that's because we have people whose stories are changing a
00:20:37
little bit yeah earlier we said that misty said that she slept in the same bed with both of the children and later
00:20:43
she would say that she slept in the bed with Ron jr. and that Hayley was in the small bed beside her bed I believe some
00:20:52
of these inconsistencies are just not really knowing or it's it's not necessarily a lie but a partial truth
00:21:00
maybe they did fall asleep in the bed together and then if she woke up at some point that that Hayley wasn't on the bed
00:21:08
anymore and was in her bed so I think that's where we're getting some inconsistencies
00:21:15
misty did not wake until she got up at 3:00 a.m. according to her story this is either to get a drink or to use the
00:21:23
restroom her story has varied and she says that she noticed that Haley was gone now Ron arrives home at 3:25
00:21:31
a.m. and tells misty to call 9-1-1 and that call came in at 3:27 a.m. now captain I think that we should review
00:21:39
that call as it's it's hard to hear and as we pointed out there are some strange
00:21:44
things in that call yeah and that's the best quality that we could find and we we kind of questioned using it anyways
00:21:50
because it's so hard to understand the actual context of what they're saying but we do believe that it also paints a
00:21:58
picture of that moment so let's listen to those clips we're gonna break them down into smaller clips and then okay so
00:22:41
911 see Mystique Roslyn is his first heard saying hi I just woke up and our back door was wide open and I think and
00:22:50
I can't find our daughter you can't find what our daughter okay what's your address now mystique
00:22:59
Roslin's answer we cannot we cannot hear there and it's not even deciphered on this transcript but when she's asked to
00:23:07
give the the numerical she doesn't know what that means I don't have so much of an issue with that she gives the the the
00:23:14
street as Green Lane and then you do hear her bleeped out that would be where she's giving the full street address and
00:23:22
this shows that she's uneducated I don't believe that she's stupid I just think she's uneducated well and she's 17 yeah
00:23:30
we factored that and and if she is to be believed she's in a very stressful situation a mind you heard the
00:23:38
information we have she has only been romantically involved with Ron for a handful of
00:23:45
months and may not be quick on her head feet as I like to say about some of the information that she's asked to provide
00:23:53
right because she is technically not the mother so when did you okay when did you
00:23:59
last see her misty responds um we like just you know it was about 10 o'clock she was sleeping I was cleaning okay how
00:24:09
old is your daughter misty quickly responds with she is five I don't have any problem I've seen a lot of people
00:24:15
online having a big issue with misty saying our daughter is missing right I don't find that to be problem some I
00:24:24
just emergency you don't have time to explain well technically it's not my real daughter but I'm but I'm sleeping
00:24:31
with her father and I take care of her everyday you know I mean like you don't have time for that right in the way that
00:24:40
I try to really view 911 calls the COS there's there's varying sides of the coin here some people will argue that
00:24:49
you can detect a lot of guilt and a lot of information can be pried from the person making the call and what
00:24:57
information they provide and what information they do not provide and then there's other people that just say you
00:25:02
know what they're reacting to a to a situation we can't figure out or should not speculate how one should react or or
00:25:10
what they should be doing in that moment I like the fall right between the two of
00:25:15
those my thought is is the general thought of anytime you're calling 9-1-1 you're you're asking for help
00:25:23
you're very simply put asking for help and assistance in a situation so i'm looking for people who are being helpful
00:25:33
or unhelpful in that situation that's what i want to see that's what i want to look at so saying our daughter just like
00:25:40
you said captain it's just really getting the information the very gist of it as quick as possible to the 911
00:25:47
operator in that situation you're probably thinking the faster that i provide good information to them the
00:25:53
faster they're going to appear on the scene the first responders god bless you and that they are going to be able to
00:25:59
help or fix this situation so our daughter that's no problem for me the other issue here is she's very young
00:26:07
she's dating this guy that's you know there's a age gap there and he's abusive and he's in the room with you and so
00:26:18
there's pressure to talk to the 911 dispatcher but there's also there has to be that pressure that you're gonna say
00:26:25
something wrong and piss off this guy that possibly will punch you in the face yeah and I I don't know how far I want
00:26:32
to go down that road because I know there's a lot more allegations of abuse than actual proof of such but you're
00:26:39
right captain that will be an underlining issue throughout the the course of this week's case I do find odd
00:26:48
that she points out that she was cleaning you know okay when did you last see Haley we like just you know it was
00:26:55
about 10 o'clock she was sleeping I was cleaning and I only really point this out because of what we will hear later
00:27:04
in the 9-1-1 call right but it's it's not the very simple answer that I think is most direct and most quick to the
00:27:12
point of saying I went to bed around 10:00 she was in the room with me that that's just where my head would go again
00:27:21
this is is a stressful situation well yeah it gets a little convoluted there because is she talking about doing
00:27:28
laundry is that a part of cleaning or was she trying to clean but then was cleaning for a minute and then laid down
00:27:35
with the kids you know and asked out I thought about that too when analyzing the 911 call what what my verbage would
00:27:44
be and I was thinking about it this way like if if I were simply just doing laundry and you asked me hey what are
00:27:51
you doing oh I'm doing some laundry now if I were doing laundry and cleaning the
00:27:55
house right at the same time which you know you can do thanks to these wonderful washing machines that do the
00:28:01
washing for you I would I would summarize it by I'm doing some cleaning I would just bundle that in
00:28:07
with the laundry and cleaning [Music] there's something interfering with your happiness or preventing you from

00:32:14
garage Cheers okay in this portion of the call this is where I really first start hearing
00:32:20
Ronald in the background mm-hmm and so now we have to keep in mind that during this 911 call we have misty who is
00:32:29
talking to the operator as well as we have Ronald talking to her as well so she's being kind of torn into two
00:32:36
different conversations the 911 operator says okay what was Haleigh last seen wearing to where she
00:32:45
then has to say ma'am because you can hear Ronald in the background and then misty comes back and says she was
00:32:51
wearing her pajamas she was sleeping okay all right you said your back door was wide open
00:32:57
misty yes it was bricked there was a brick on the floor when I was asleep it was not like that 9-1-1 okay the back
00:33:06
door listen to me your back door was wide open what are you talking about a brick what is a brick misty says it's
00:33:14
almost like on the stairs we have a walkway nine-one-one and there's a brick lying
00:33:20
there misty says yes it's still there and then you hear Ron again he's in the background and he's saying something to
00:33:27
the effect of tell them they've they better come tell him to come on and we have the 911 operator trying to cool the
00:33:35
situation she's telling misty please tell him we got them coming to which misty complies I I don't know that I see
00:33:46
anything weird in there I I do appreciate the 911 operator trying to keep misty focused and get the proper
00:33:55
information from her especially about this brick situation with the the back door there yeah and I think people that
00:34:02
claim that any of these comments are guilt or innocent it's kind of you know nonsense
00:34:10
anyways because this whole brick situation we don't know if she saw the brick herself or
00:34:18
he is if Ronald comes in and he's just yelling about stuff and saying there was a brick and you know I mean like you she
00:34:26
might just be tossing out information that he's tossing out but according to one at least one of her stories is that
00:34:33
she saw the door propped open and that's what prompted her to go back into the room with the kids right but I notice is
00:34:41
Haley missing right but that's where it gets weird because I've also heard all these stories that there are two doors
00:34:46
there's a screen door and later it I believe she says or Ronald says the screen door was propped open by the
00:34:54
brick and then the actual door was wide open mm-hmm and again readings to have both be wide open her statement
00:35:02
to 9-1-1 makes it confusing as well because when they're discussing the the details about this brick or the door her
00:35:10
first statement is that it was on the floor the back door is wide open and the brick was a wide open and it was on the
00:35:18
floor and then later saying that it was on the stairs we have a walkway so right
00:35:25
and that is you can almost picture this in your head where it's one door propped
00:35:30
open with a brick inside the home and then maybe a screen door going out the other direction propped up on the
00:35:38
outside of the home with a brick yeah which if you're going off of just what she says on 911 that's the picture
00:35:44
that's painted for me let's get into clip three okay okay here so we are getting at this
00:37:07
section they want to know what does the house look like what color is your house
00:37:11
Missy says blue now we got to get a description of hailey what does she look like how tall is she
00:37:18
give me some description of her misty says how tall is she you know she's probably either trying to clarify with
00:37:25
the operator or asking Ronald who's in the background probably stomping around the home hmm
00:37:33
she goes on to say Missy says like long hair like curly with curls nine-one-one long curls what color misty
00:37:41
she's white well you're missing the point where she says about four and I think she's gonna say about four feet
00:37:50
tall which would not be correct but she does clearly state about four okay I couldn't hear that in this this portion
00:37:58
and I guess I'm guessing that the 911 operator could not either because they're they're clarifying about the the
00:38:06
hair color what color hair brown hair Missy says yes oh my god or oh my god and goes on to see something else that I
00:38:14
could not detect there well when she initially says what color she says white right and she's like no no hair color
00:38:23
right and that's what the 9-1-1 operator wants to clarify this is where they move
00:38:28
on and they want to know how tall Haley is okay how tall is she about or how much does she weigh do you know that to
00:38:37
which we have the huh response 9-1-1 clarifies about how tall or how much does she weigh misty 24 sounds about
00:38:47
right I don't know she's not that tall that's very confusing to me because that's why
00:38:53
I was saying about the four okay it doesn't to me it's not I don't know if she says 24 it sounds like four right I
00:39:01
didn't I couldn't figure out from that statement if if 24 is inches yeah or or weight or both because she follows it up
00:39:13
with I don't know she's not that tall and and she is being asked how tall or how much does she weigh at the same time
00:39:21
you have and also thing about this when you're raising kids if somebody would have asked me how tall is you know your
00:39:29
littlest steps on at four or five or whenever you you just guess cuz you don't really know yeah and in for me
00:39:38
children have always been tough for me to guess like if there's an adult and you asked me for a description I could
00:39:45
very quickly give you approximate height and weight yeah and then I think that's
00:39:50
where the next part comes in is when they're they go from height to weight and then this is again where people will
00:39:59
claim that you know she's so dumb or so stupid and I think some of this is just again how much do they weigh she's like
00:40:08
I don't know 40 50 60 I think some of that is nerves obviously because I think when somebody's asking a question and
00:40:19
you're racing your brain is racing to get to the answer but you're kind of this to me
00:40:26
proves that she's confused oh yeah and it could be confused for any number of reasons but that's also why question
00:40:34
what's taking place on this 9/11 one called not so much as what she's saying but it almost seems strange to me that
00:40:42
Ronald hands the phone to her he should be much better equipped to answer all of
00:40:48
these questions and I'm basing that simply off of the fact that he's the father Misty's not the mother and according to
00:40:57
the information we have they were only romantically involved for a short period of time before this 9-1-1 call goes down
00:41:04
this is information that he should know he should be better equipped to provide answers rather than misty for the record
00:41:12
according to her missing flier Haley is three foot tall and was listed at 39 pounds the day that she went missing
00:41:21
right and again when people go oh she's so stupid how much does she weigh I don't know 40
00:41:27
pounds boom she's 39 pounds she got it right but in this state of confusion I don't know 40 50 60 Hey
00:41:37
and what's weird to me like you said what's going on in the call in the background how long did this is not a
00:41:45
big house this is a you know a trailer right and it's like how long does that take for you to go she's not in here
00:41:54
okay now let's look on the outside all she's not there either but it's almost like he comes in the
00:42:02
house he's storming around and instantly he's going somebody stole her and to me
00:42:10
that shows more of what's going on outside of his life what's going on in his personal life that he would walk in
00:42:20
and immediately go somebody took her because the first thought your kids not in your bed not in their bed where are
00:42:29
they are they hiding somewhere do they go to another room did they get outside yeah and we'll get to that portion with
00:42:36
this next clip okay and then they hang up I'm oh he's very suspicious when people hang up on 9-1-1
00:43:41
i couldn't find anywhere either misty or ronald saying that they got disconnected or anything like that that
00:43:50
so it seems to me like which is very possible though right but i would like to know that it because it's weird to me
00:43:57
that ronald would hang up the phone because it i gotta believe it was him he's the last one speaking before the
00:44:03
the call drops yeah so well I think he was having a hard time and has seen they're pretending to cry that he maybe
00:44:13
didn't know how to continue so I hung up the phone I felt that it was more out of
00:44:18
like anger that he may have hung up the phone so in the beginning of this portion very possible we're again trying
00:44:25
to get some more information just basic stuff Misty's name and phone number and then we go back to was the door the back
00:44:33
door locked do you know misty says yes Ronald we can hear him saying something like man I
00:44:39
need somebody to get here now to which the 911 operator wants to speak to Ronald Ronald gets on the phone he says
00:44:48
I just got home from work my five year old daughter is gone I need some one here now now this is where I think
00:44:55
that the statement of I was cleaning from misty is weird when I'm kind of layering these all together and one big
00:45:03
9/11 called Big Mac if you want to call it that so we have the I was cleaning that was the last time I saw her I just
00:45:11
woke up and she's missing first thing we hear from Ronald is I just got home from
00:45:17
work it's almost like we're laying out alibis correct it almost seems like unnecessary information for the purpose
00:45:26
of finding Haley well that's been his story the whole time and will continue to be his mantra if you will I was at
00:45:33
work how am I supposed to know find my daughter everybody needs to be looking for my goddamn daughter how's that work
00:45:39
how am I supposed to know anything I mean that's that's what he does for the next however many years well and then we
00:45:47
had the portion of him saying that you know if I find whoever has my daughter before you all do I'm killing
00:45:54
them I don't care I will spend the rest of my life in prison you can put that on
00:45:58
the recording I don't care write again that's a whole lot of conversation unnecessary conversation I
00:46:05
understand he might just be furious and reacting to the situation but you can go
00:46:10
ahead and put that on the recording I don't care almost like I want that on the record I want it on the record to
00:46:17
show that I was so upset and angry that I come into a situation and my daughter's missing and the fact that
00:46:23
she's missing I'm willing to kill the individual that did it yeah that's how much I care and it seems to me almost as
00:46:31
if he came home and his daughter's missing and he's gone oh I knew somebody could take her did does that make any
00:46:39
sense well I guess in this situation he's going off of the assumption of seeing the door propped open and but I
00:46:48
think it's more than that well it could be we don't know but but the the very simple thing that I'm
00:46:55
looking for in this call as I stated is being helpful or unhelpful this whole thing of if I find whoever has my
00:47:03
daughter before you do I'm going to kill him extremely unhelpful to the for the purpose of the 9-1-1 call and then on
00:47:10
foot on top of that that statement is strange in itself because during that situation he's not out looking for
00:47:18
anybody he's not out looking for Haley he's not out looking for whoever may have took her yeah it seems like he's
00:47:24
just stomping around his house and in this situation why would you look if I was the father it would be me either me
00:47:31
on the 911 call or if I'm handing the phone off to somebody I'm going outside where I can find this child or the
00:47:39
person or at least have a shot at it at least have a who's to say that if let's say he believes 100% that somebody
00:47:46
took her and he's completely innocent of any wrongdoing there's a chance there's
00:47:52
a shot that this person took her and may have been on foot or was parked somewhat
00:47:59
nearby and this abduction just recently happened to hand the phone off and then just to stomp around in the background
00:48:06
and provide nothing of information and to provide little if anything in the way of help for the purpose of finding your
00:48:15
daughter just it's completely backwards it's completely opposite of the whole purpose
00:48:21
of the 911 call to begin with and then let's add to our Big Mac here right so 911 god bless this 911 operator because
00:48:31
I would have lost my [ __ ] a long time ago she says it's okay sir we've got them on the way okay can you give me
00:48:40
what kind of description of pajamas was she wearing - which Ronald Cummings says
00:48:45
I don't effing know I was at work and hangs up the phone yeah that's the most counterproductive thing that you could
00:48:52
possibly do in this city why not just ask misty who's who's clearly still in the same room with you if you don't know
00:49:00
rather than hanging up the phone let's let's help you know that's very unhelpful again okay so what is he doing
00:49:10
in the trailer why all this was going on do you have any idea or well I'm basing
00:49:17
off basing this off of what his word or what I think he is to be saying because again I think he's just kind of
00:49:24
stomping around the house maybe he is walking in and out of the trailer during this time right but because there's
00:49:32
there are times where you can hear him much louder than other times and I think he's probably pretty vocal through the
00:49:39
entirety of these calls right but some of that he's vocal with Misty and some of it he's just vocal to anybody that's
00:49:48
willing to listen and I think he's really just walking around at some point I do hear him say something to the point
00:49:56
of where is my phone now we believe that misty is on his phone and and you know phone but again reactionary he might be
00:50:06
looking for her phone and just said that and that you will hear that in one of the upcoming clips well he also likes to
00:50:13
wear these chains like a necklace it's a little chains and they're like really small so I wonder if he's like because
00:50:20
he's gonna go find who took his daughter and kill him if he's also looking for his little tiny chain to put on so he's
00:50:27
a little tougher when he confronts the person now this is where we're going to hear 911 back to Ronald coming
00:51:14
okay ma'am okay so the door look like it was pried open look like it does it look
00:51:29
like you had some sort of someone try to enter into your house another thing make
00:51:37
sure you and your husband don't touch the door anymore don't go through the door or anything okay tell your husband
00:52:12
well what's her middle name this okay we tell them we understand we need to get her date of birth
00:52:35
okay listen to me I'm getting this information I'm not the Oxford driving out there okay there's a handle that
00:52:42
situation I need to gather all the information from you over the phone is nothing to do with me driving out there
00:52:48
so often take care of that okay they're coming out there okay okay I'm gonna stay on the phone with you okay
00:53:00
oopy until they get there all right oh we got him coming try to calm down a little bit okay we
00:53:32
can't have him yell it's awesome whenever they get there okay see and it sounds like they hang up again they
00:53:48
being the people calling and asking for help right well they didn't call this time right rain but the ones that need
00:53:55
help correct but it's weird that two guys I wish I could understand what he's saying in the background cuz I think
00:54:01
he's saying more I really think there was something to this idea that in his head somebody took his child and looking
00:54:10
it might not be somebody that is involved in his drug history or in his drug circle but you also have had
00:54:19
custody issues with your ex and so is that where his head is going has taken him you know all did my did my did my
00:54:28
ex-wife come take our daughter mm-hmm I'll kill him you know like they can't do this I have
00:54:34
custody now yeah I mean so that's that's where I wonder where his head is going well when 911 calls back it is Ronald
00:54:43
the answers the phone he says hello and then he's like whining and crying which should be expected in this situation to
00:54:52
which the 911 operator wants to talk to misty now because Ronald's of no help and they want to get some more
00:55:00
information this part is real interesting to me because this is one of the few times throughout this lengthy
00:55:07
9-1-1 call where they do where misty and Ronald do provide some good information
00:55:13
to which the 911 operator very smartly asked ma'am okay listen I need you to answer some questions does the door look
00:55:21
like it was pried open to which it takes some time to get to the answer but misty
00:55:29
says no it doesn't right it doesn't and then 911s to clarify it doesn't look like
00:55:35
it is to which misty says no right I again look she didn't know what Numerical meant so is it possible that
00:55:44
she heard the word Prai and she was trying to figure out you know is it propped his prior word with prop that's
00:55:52
that's where my head goes but the door is propped open and when asked if the door was pried open she's saying no
00:55:58
right but I think that's where the that's where the hesitation is is that either one she might not be able to you
00:56:05
know hear her but maybe she doesn't really fully understand the question I'm gonna go the other way with that because
00:56:13
when when asked if the door is still propped open she says yes when asked if it looks like it was pried open she says
00:56:19
no now this is where the 911 operator very smartly again lets them know hey tell your husband to do not touch
00:56:29
anything because they are going to get a k-9 unit out there misty says okay tells
00:56:35
him not to touch anything they're bringing canines out now Ronald Cummings in the background at this point you're
00:56:41
hearing him say something to the effect of they better bring something out here because if I get my hands on that mf'er
00:56:47
I'm going to kill him I don't give a f--- about prison again reminding us prison doesn't scare him again not
00:56:56
helpful to misty or the 900 operator and thus leans against the the X theory that
00:57:04
I had that that he was thinking that possibly the X came that he's going through a short list of people in his
00:57:10
head then they say when I get a hold of him and and then you go well was she seeing somebody that that maybe he
00:57:18
thought would be responsible for this and I like that the operators pointing out hey he's got to be he's got a comet
00:57:26
down a little bit because we can't have him being violent or screaming and yelling when the officers arrived on the
00:57:33
scene because they're going to be face-to-face they're going to need to get more better information than what
00:57:39
was this operator tried her very best to get good information she's just not getting it from Ronald or from misty
00:57:48
to which again at the end of the call they're being asked we need to get her date of birth we need to get Hailey's
00:57:56
date of birth misty does not seem to know that it it seems more to me like she's asking Ronald what is her date of
00:58:05
birth rather than clarifying with the 911 operator that's what she's doing and Ronald then says eff her date of birth
00:58:11
we need to find her eff her date of birth for the record Hailey's date of birth is August 17 2003
00:58:19
well that's because this numbnuts doesn't know his daughter's date of birth that's why Brian let's blessed be
00:58:26
he gets upset Oh ever dated birth well it's it's called come out here and find her it's like no you you're such a loser
00:58:35
that don't even know your own daughter's date of birth and as the call continues
00:58:42
I believe to hear him say that he's looking for his phone kind of shouting about where is my phone or where is a
00:58:49
phone and clearly at the end you hear him say where is my effing phone and I kind of believe that that you know he
00:58:59
follows it up with we've got better people to talk to than some M efforts who ain't coming and again it sounds to
00:59:06
me like they once again hang up the phone I would love to know if in fact if that's the situation and if it was
00:59:13
Ronald that hung up the phone or misty I find it strange that either of them would do so again extremely unhelpful to
00:59:20
the situation that started with them calling and asking for help now I do believe here I don't have the
00:59:29
time stamps of the start of this call we mentioned that the call came in at 3:27
00:59:38
and the call is what 7 minutes 8 minutes long well if you combine the two okay so and we don't know if there's a
00:59:48
break-in time during the the time that they were disconnected well there is a break on the audio clip
00:59:53
but I don't know if that's in real time does that make sense so you're looking at right maybe 20 seconds of
00:59:59
disconnection and then 911 calls but which could have been a couple minutes in real life yeah I actually
01:00:06
assume that it's not hmm I actually assume because you can hear the dialing and you can actually hear that the
01:00:12
operator that it's consist all they hung up and we're still recording and now because I'm assuming that in this
01:00:21
situation their protocol is for 911 to call back hmm and so why stop the recording just keep
01:00:28
it going so here where he's saying that he's looking for his phone or he's looking
01:00:33
for a phone and he says follows that up with we've got better people to talk to I got better to be able to talk to well
01:00:42
there I feel like it's it's if he is innocent of anything then then he's just frustrated with the call he's frustrated
01:00:50
with the situation he's probably hopefully frustrated with himself that he doesn't know some very
01:00:55
basic information about his small child right but on top of that there I think what he's meaning is his mother who we
01:01:02
do know shows up to the scene very quickly and this is where I believe that we can say that's who he called and
01:01:10
that's who he's wanting to call in that moment while misty is still on the phone
01:01:15
with 911 to today this guy's a douche you know and I and I think that's I think this is his attitude like you said
01:01:28
throughout the whole conversation where is he trying to help it's it's almost like he's displacing the blame now on
01:01:37
them that you guys won't even show up and look I'm here trying to help and I do feel like that's setting he's setting
01:01:46
