Rachel Morin /// Part 2 /// 701

September 20, 2023 / 49:24

This episode covers the investigation into the murder of Rachel Morin, DNA evidence linking the case to a home invasion in Los Angeles, and the ongoing search for the suspect.

Colonel William Davis from the Harford County Sheriff's Office discusses new leads in the Rachel Morin case, emphasizing the importance of DNA evidence collected at the crime scene. The DNA matched a suspect involved in a home invasion and sexual assault case in Los Angeles.

The hosts analyze the implications of the suspect being potentially violent and dangerous, as well as the challenges law enforcement faces in identifying him. They discuss the suspect's description, which includes being approximately five foot nine, 160 pounds, and of Hispanic descent.

The episode also touches on another case involving a woman's body found in Los Angeles, raising questions about possible connections between the two cases. The hosts express frustration over the lack of information released by the LAPD regarding the suspect in that case.

Listeners are encouraged to assist in the investigation by providing any tips or information they may have regarding Rachel Morin's murder.

thank you [Music] [Music] so first off I just want to start off by saying thank you for coming out tonight
00:02:44
I'm Colonel William Davis Chief Deputy of the Harford County Sheriff's Office I know this briefing comes in late in
00:02:50
the day but but last night we received critical pieces of information and our detectives have been working throughout
00:02:56
the night and today running down our new leads once the New Evidence came to light
00:03:02
Sheriff Gaylor was adamant that we needed to inform our community as soon as possible
00:03:07
and that's why we're here tonight as you know since Saturday August 5th 12 days ago the Harford County Sheriff's
00:03:15
office has been working around the clock to get Justice for Rachel Morin and hopefully bring peace to her family
00:03:21
since that first day over 300 Community tips have flooded our inboxes and emails
00:03:27
her death has grabbed local State national and international headlines everyone with the same goal find the
00:03:34
Killer and bring Justice to Rachel DNA evidence is is part of nearly every modern day investigation and in Rachel's
00:03:42
case DNA evidence was collected by our forensic Services Unit that DNA was analyzed by the Maryland
00:03:48
State Police and it was ran through the national CODIS system DNA evidences I mean this DNA evidence
00:03:56
has come back as a match tied to a home invasion and insult and an assault of a young girl in Los
00:04:03
Angeles this past March unfortunately that suspect has not been positively identified but he did leave
00:04:11
behind his DNA based on the DNA evidence we consider the individual in the video we obtained
00:04:18
from the Los Angeles Police Department and that we are about to show you on our TV screens to be the person that
00:04:24
murdered Rachel Morin on August 5th based on our analysis of this video and witness observations we believe the
00:04:32
suspect to be approximately five foot nine 160 pounds and of Hispanic descent if you have any information about this
00:04:40
suspect we are asking you to please call our detectives at our tip line and the tip line number is 410
00:04:47
eight three six seven seven eight eight and we've also established a dedicated email address and that email address is
00:04:55
RM tips at harfordsheriff.org again that's RM as in Rachel Moran tips at hartfordsheriff.org
00:05:04
[Music] well you heard it there folks in this week's trailer number two as we call it
00:05:23
here in the garage that is the Harford County Sheriff's Office telling us that they have started
00:05:32
to hone in on a suspect now the difficulties here they do not know the name or identity of the suspect
00:05:41
what the science is telling them is that DNA suspect DNA that's collected at the
00:05:47
murder scene of Rachel Morin there on the ma and Paul trail system once they enter that into the coda
00:05:56
system they get a hit the hit tells them that whoever perpetrated whoever killed
00:06:03
Rachel Morin was also involved in a home invasion sexual assault case and Los Angeles county in California
00:06:14
clear on the other side of this country well think about this for a second if you're law enforcement you have this
00:06:21
vicious murder and now you have DNA that matches another attack so we know that this individual is extremely violent
00:06:30
extremely dangerous but not only that but they're from the other side or at least they have criminal activity on the
00:06:39
other side of the country this is very dangerous for anybody because basically this whole United States is this guy's
00:06:48
playground well and that's a very scary thing and I don't know that that has really
00:06:53
rang through and rang true to everybody out there in listener land or people that are following this case online
00:07:03
is that whoever perpetrated a home invasion sexual assault in Los Angeles California in March of this year 2023
00:07:11
then went to Maryland in August of 2023 and attacked ambushed and killed a woman
00:07:22
in Maryland that is some frankly some very scary stuff here and what other crimes
00:07:30
is this individual possibly connected to so here's the thing there's a couple things that we could probably take away
00:07:36
from this right one is if he is encodas for these two different crimes but remains unknown being that we do not
00:07:45
know his first and last name one thing here is that he's not committed any other crimes that he was
00:07:53
that they took his DNA and that he was arrested for because they would quickly be able to identify him by name
00:08:00
so that hasn't happened and usually when you find this type of situation this is strange because remember we
00:08:07
talked about very similar situation with the back to school killer just a few weeks ago
00:08:12
but he was committing crimes all in the same state Virginia right in this case completely across the country it does
00:08:20
not get much further apart between Maryland and California although the Big Ten is going to try to
00:08:27
tell us that they're not so far apart right but don't you think that this possibly
00:08:33
because his DNA is not encodist do you think this possibly means that we're looking for a younger yeah suspect yes I
00:08:41
I think I was of that belief before we get further information and I know that you
00:08:46
were as well there Captain but what we do have is a bit of a description from police and this is a description that's
00:08:53
coming from I want to be clear on this because there's different reporting because we have
00:08:58
different jurisdictions that are so far apart we're getting different reporting on this case that we now are told
00:09:04
science tells us we're committed by the same perpetrator now the people from Harford County
00:09:12
in Maryland those authorities are telling us that they believe that the suspect is approximately five foot nine
00:09:21
inches tall approximately 160 pounds and they believe that he is between the ages of 20 and 30 years old he has dark
00:09:32
hair and a muscular build now why do we know that well we have the video that they
00:09:37
reference in that press release and we're going to describe that video for you but again let me describe the
00:09:45
the suspect as they are describing him to us right approximately five foot nine inches tall 160 pounds believed to be
00:09:54
between the ages of 20 and 30 years old dark hair muscular build and believed to
00:09:59
be of Hispanic descent well you left out one thing huge pile of [ __ ] we are going to do our
00:10:08
best to describe this video to you and if possible we'll put it up on our social as well so you can view it for
00:10:14
yourselves it's a very quick video that the police are showing us at this press conference
00:10:19
and this video did start to make its way on social and I remember you and I talked about it
00:10:25
briefly when we first caught wind of this case but it's it's a weird video because what it shows and I've seen a
00:10:33
couple different versions of this video Captain the video that they show at the press conference shows a man as
00:10:40
described as as we just described him as the Harford County Sheriff's Office just
00:10:45
described him leaving a residence and it appears that he is leaving through the front door going out the front door of
00:10:52
this home shirtless uh shoes or no shoes I've been trying to figure that part out he he doesn't have
00:11:00
I wouldn't call it a mohawk but it's a high fade haircut with with dark hair on top definitely a muscular build they
00:11:08
probably I'm guessing the authorities in LA have taken some Dimensions from that
00:11:15
door and they have a pretty good idea of his height and weight one based off of that door but two
00:11:24
in some versions of this video not the one shown at this press conference but in some versions you can see a hand and
00:11:31
an arm closing the door behind the perpetrator after he leaves this home and this video is coming from like a
00:11:38
doorbell ring cam yeah and so what you have here Captain very likely is the surviving victim
00:11:46
maybe even the person's arm hand that is shown closing the door is offering a description to
00:11:54
Los Angeles authorities yeah so let's just be clear about that so the video shows this individual leaving the house
00:12:01
and then as the door is closing you can almost see a hand like helping the door shut
00:12:10
and that makes the video to me very confusing and I know some of you out there are going well of course it's
00:12:18
confusing to you Captain because you are what they call a dumbass but it's pronounced Dumas my issue with it is
00:12:28
you have a guy that breaks into a house attacks somebody you would think that they would attack
00:12:36
that individual and just leave this almost looks as if somebody is just leaving after a date or something
00:12:46
is leaving and somebody's letting them out that's what it looks like to me with the exception of the no shirt thing
00:12:52
right with the exception of no shirt this almost looks like a couple buddies who came over for Monday Night Football
00:12:58
and I escorted one of them out and closed the door behind them why would your buddies come over for football and
00:13:03
have their shirts off no I said minus the part with the no shirt hey maybe their team won and they went full Hulk
00:13:10
Hogan and just ripped that baby right off but here here's what's weird captain exactly how you described it is strange
00:13:17
not just to you but to everybody else out there I couldn't make heads my first reaction was well hell I don't know if
00:13:24
there was really a crime committed here it almost looks like the person walked him out and and he just left
00:13:29
nonchalantly and the person just casually closes the door behind him yeah because it almost he almost makes a
00:13:37
gesturing motion as to it's it's like when you go to close the door and you kind of hesitate
00:13:44
because you want the door to close softer he almost makes that motion before he turns around to leave he doesn't seem
00:13:52
like he's leaving in like a crazy hurry no he's not fleeing the scene other than
00:13:58
he is obviously carrying items with him and he doesn't have clothing on which may include the shirt that is not on his
00:14:06
back he might be carrying the shirt out of there right and possibly his shoes and possibly his shoes
00:14:13
yeah you know what I'm watching it again and that is definitely a shirt or a jacket
00:14:19
that he's carrying and but he gets lucky as hell doesn't he because he doesn't turn and look at the
00:14:27
doorbell camera yeah this guy's a piece of [ __ ] with a horrible haircut and he's
00:14:32
got his little gold chain it almost looks like a shitty version of The Flock of Seagulls haircut he's you can see him
00:14:38
leaving but as the captain pointed out and rightfully so nobody would describe this individual as fleeing the scene
00:14:45
he's he's leaving rather casually he gets lucky because he doesn't turn and look directly at the the doorbell camera
00:14:53
so here's what we do right we go out you gotta pound the pavement sometimes you got to put that nose to the
00:15:02
grindstone right you put put your ear down to the ground and you hear what's shaking loose and here's what
00:15:10
your friend Yours Truly has heard coming out of La I want to start off by saying
00:15:16
this is something that we've talked about well in the past but you go from jurisdiction state to state
00:15:23
right a charge of sodomy could mean any number of things depending on which state you are in
00:15:29
okay it's a very the the degree of the definition of sodomy and many jurisdictions varies to to a wide degree
00:15:38
now home invasion as well in most jurisdictions what the term home invasion means is that anybody who
00:15:50
enters a premises without permission who intends to commit a crime inside of that premises
00:15:59
so that makes it a very loose term when you really think about it so this individual could have a climbed through
00:16:05
a window B could have even had been invited into the home with intent to commit a crime
00:16:14
once he is inside the home and starts to take control of the situation and starts
00:16:20
to commit the crime starts to violate and victimize the persons inside it becomes a home invasion regardless of
00:16:27
how he got into the home right so this has caused a lot of people to question this video and question the
00:16:35
victims in the LA situation the home invasion sexual assault because people were saying well
00:16:43
if he left so casually one would expect that he entered through the front door and when you enter through the front
00:16:50
door you are typically looking in the direction that would provide police and everybody else and here in
00:16:57
this case the public Who police need their help finding this guy right straight shot of this dude or at the
00:17:05
very least like a profile good profile picture instead all we get is him exiting the property and we get just a
00:17:12
little touch of the face just enough glimpse of [ __ ] there to make you think you can figure out what this guy looks
00:17:18
like I don't think he can so how did he get into the property now it stands the reason he could have
00:17:24
broken through a window climbed in through an unlocked or open window that would explain why we don't have front
00:17:31
door camera footage of him entering the premises or also if there was just some weird scenario where there was a glitch
00:17:39
at the camera at the time and here's where I think this story gets crazy you just said weird scenario I'm gonna
00:17:48
give you the weird scenario that I have heard and this makes some sense when you really start
00:17:57
to kind of sort it out so from my understanding I've been told by somebody that is close to the investigation
00:18:05
that when LA Police or the Sheriff's Office whomever responded to this home invasion sexual assault call
00:18:14
found three persons residing inside that home okay so there was a mother and two children
00:18:23
a son and a daughter the mother from my understanding was half in the bag she's so drunk they didn't even bother
00:18:36
to take a statement from her from my understanding it's the daughter that was assaulted or attempted assault
00:18:43
against this younger female right now that would explain several things did this guy get spooked
00:18:52
and start to walk out on his own and somebody the victim gets up the the young female gets up and
00:18:59
closes the door behind him does the drunken mother walk into a situation and not fully understand what
00:19:06
she's seeing kind of shoes the guy out kind of chases him out a little bit but not with a gun
00:19:13
or not with a knife or anything like that and shuts the door behind him I don't think that's the brother and I
00:19:22
here's why I think that that and look I'm gonna get a little gender-ish here on you if that's even a
00:19:28
word but I think I think that a brother would probably get a you would see a little more of the brother chasing this
00:19:36
dude out I think that well again you don't you don't know the scenario inside the house
00:19:40
because exactly because the crime could have happened with inside this girl's bedroom this guy's leaving the bedroom
00:19:47
the brother's sitting there watching TV he goes all right man I'm gonna hit the road okay see you later and he walks him
00:19:55
out and I we also shouldn't get into the weeds of how old is this victim all we're told is that it's a younger female
00:20:02
and so could that mean 17 18 possibly could it mean eight nine ten possibly we don't know they've not released the age
00:20:11
or the name of the victim from my understanding if they have I've not come across that information right here's the
00:20:17
thing and I don't mean to scare the socks off of everybody but it would not be the first time
00:20:26
that a mother invites a grown man into her home gets drunk passes out only to wake up later and find said man
00:20:40
in daughter's room up to the complete no good victimizing the young girl is there a chance that this mother walks
00:20:49
into a scenario that she can't fully understand what's happening because it's in the moment and it's quick
00:20:56
it's quick he gets up he goes oh it's not what you think it is it's not what you think it
00:21:01
is and then leaves and she closes the door behind him and then seeks information
00:21:07
from her daughter and then finds out oh snap this dude tried to rape my daughter
00:21:14
now we need to get the police involved so from my understanding Captain what I've Been Told
00:21:20
is that when police arrive on the scene they take a statement from the daughter and from the son
00:21:27
now here's where people get angry at these victims and I don't know if it's right to be angry
00:21:36
at these victims or not and you will rarely ever hear me say that I nobody wants to victimize the victims more
00:21:43
nobody should ever want that nobody should want these people to fall under scrutiny themselves
00:21:49
but there are there's a but it happens all the time in sexual assault and rape well and but there's there's a time that
00:21:55
we take victims and go well we don't really believe you well I believe the victims
00:22:00
the problem that I'm having with this case is what I I think a lot of people have a problem with I think a lot of
00:22:06
people out there believe that one of these people inside that home may know more about this individual than what
00:22:13
they've told my other suspicion here too is that but that happens a lot you know when the but
00:22:21
why protect him why would anybody want to protect well sometimes they're not protecting them they think they're
00:22:26
protecting themselves because they're more afraid of that individual could it be a cousin an uncle
00:22:34
yeah or just somebody that they they know is violent or maybe he's connected to other violent people so it's one of
00:22:41
those things well if I go to Cops and I tell you hey this this guy the guy's name was Ray and they go arrest Ray well
00:22:49
you're not so worried about Reagan in jail you're worried about who Rey is connected to my other Theory here too
00:22:55
and I I don't know that this holds a lot of weight because I believe I hope that
00:23:01
if this is the case that they would release this information to the public but one suspicion I've had in this case
00:23:07
is that maybe if he is known to any of those persons inside of that home that he might only be known by a nickname
00:23:15
but again I hope that if that's the case that the authorities would release that
00:23:20
nickname because a lot of times the old nickname doesn't fall too far from the tree of the real name or the nickname
00:23:27
itself could be an identifier to people in the community that could come forward
00:23:31
and give you his real name not always but sometimes the nickname is coming from a possession one owns like a large
00:23:38
boat I want to toss this out though because we have a crime that takes place in La
00:23:43
then we have a crime that takes place in Maryland my thoughts started going to well maybe he's not
00:23:52
traveling the country maybe he's originally from Maryland and just went on vacation to LA right
00:24:03
because it's and now he's back in Maryland seems more likely that you would take a vacation to La than you
00:24:09
would to Maryland or he's on the run and he thinks that the police know more about
00:24:15
him than they do in the LA case right [Music] [Music] all right we are back thank you so much
00:24:45
for joining us here in the garage cheers onward and upward kernel cheers to all of you out there cheers and and
00:24:53
have a safe trip out to Orlando Florida for this year's crime con and stop by and say hello to the colonel if you get
00:25:02
a moment now I don't know here Captain if this is just yours truly barking up the wrong
00:25:09
tree but what I could not dismiss until we get further information is there's another case
00:25:19
that I wonder if this has any ties to the case that we're talking about now we know we know that there's a connection a
00:25:25
DNA connection between the home invasion and la and the murder in Maryland in Bel Air Maryland
00:25:32
there's another case of a woman's body that was found wrapped in plastic in a bedroom
00:25:41
in Los Angeles and this is very recently here yeah I read about that so I'll I'll
00:25:47
read an article uh the mom found her right correct so a disturbing Discovery unfolded in a Los Angeles residence over
00:25:55
the weekend when a mother stumbled upon a woman's body wrapped in plastic while investigating a suspected gas odor
00:26:03
emanating from her son's room as reported by local police the deceased has been identified as Hannah Rachel
00:26:11
Collins a 30 year old native of Mississippi who had been visiting friends in Los Angeles since June her
00:26:20
mother revealed that Collins had recently celebrated her 30th birthday on August 1st and had last been in contact
00:26:27
with her family on August 7th the exact circumstances surrounding Colin's presence in the residence remain
00:26:36
shrouded in mystery and authorities have yet to disclose the connection between her and the 26 year old man whose room
00:26:44
she was discovered in note that 26 years of age would fall right in the middle practically of our
00:26:53
20 to 30 years old for our suspect in the other two cases right the article goes on to say that
00:26:59
Los Angeles Police Department homicide detective has said that Collins's death is currently being treated as an
00:27:08
undetermined death investigation and that an autopsy in full toxicology report are pending although the Los
00:27:15
Angeles Department of medical of the medical examiner completed Collins's autopsy
00:27:21
early in the morning determining the cause of death could take four to six months according to
00:27:27
public information additional investigation and toxicology testing as requested by detectives will
00:27:33
contribute to this extended time frame Collins's mother choosing to remain unnamed said that she was notified of
00:27:41
her daughter's death by the medical examiner's office on August 14th this article right here comes out August 19th
00:27:52
and I have to read this part of the the article here captain could you imagine dead body in your child's room
00:28:06
can you imagine a newspaper and police department that would not reveal that dude's name and I get it maybe they're
00:28:12
like we don't it's an undetermined death technically right from the medical examiner but she didn't die of natural
00:28:19
causes and wrap herself in plastic so the article goes on to say expressing her distress The Grieving mother
00:28:28
so this the woman that they find dead is from Mississippi she's visiting on a very extended trip several months long
00:28:38
visiting in L.A now the article clearly states the reason for her being found in that
00:28:46
residence is shrouded in mystery nobody the either it's not come to light why she
00:28:51
was there or they don't know why she was there or found in that location but the
00:28:56
mom here is saying she's in Mississippi gets contacted that her daughter is found dead in someone's
00:29:03
house in this son's bedroom wrapped in plastic expressing her distress The Grieving mother stated on
00:29:10
Thursday quote someone murdered my daughter that's homicide someone wrapped her in plastic someone did that to her I
00:29:17
don't understand why his name is kept a secret end quote and it's not been reported and and we've discussed this
00:29:26
off mic but I wonder if that smell of gas wasn't the smell of a decaying body but
00:29:34
if it was actually gas that was put onto the victim the victim's mother goes on to say that she questions the timeline
00:29:42
of events and rightfully so she's saying I don't know how long my daughter was dead
00:29:49
did this person's mother give him time to run and then call the police and clearly stating what everyone's thinking
00:29:58
something is not right here no duh right I mean this is insane and and again I think uh
00:30:10
the victims mother has a has a right to question these things because we know a lot of
00:30:16
individuals that would not do the right thing and they would try to protect their child and I want to be clear here
00:30:24
we do not have any evidence at all that this situation is connected to Rachel Morin's murder no we're calling this
00:30:32
segment Colonel's hunch [Music] but we're talking about a body look similar victimology if this woman was
00:30:42
murdered yeah it's similar victimology and why are they not releasing the name of the the son who occupied that space
00:30:53
inside that home and I just want to bring up something and I I think people are going to find
00:30:57
this pretty fascinating then they're going to go wow the captain might know more about [ __ ]
00:31:03
than we thought he knew so this individual that this son with this woman's body in his room dead body in
00:31:14
his room well we have the DNA from the one assault we have the DNA from this murder that
00:31:22
took place in Maryland well couldn't we do this some genealogy so then we could test
00:31:31
the mother that found the body well you probably could find things that would tell you the DNA of the the Sun
00:31:38
that occupied that space that's what I'm saying but and compare it to your unknown
00:31:44
right assailants DNA that you have on file but what I'm saying is you can't do a genealogy test at least
00:31:53
in the murder case in Maryland because I believe that there there's a something in their laws where where
00:32:04
there's a time frame in which you can do that type of testing but I don't think they've reached that
00:32:11
time period yet well and again you wouldn't need genealogy you if you can confirm that a
00:32:18
murderer lives in that home you know the the mother's name so she either gets arrested for
00:32:27
obstruction of justice or she tells us the name of her son who is an adult and you should be able to
00:32:33
easily track that that's the thing too we don't need mom to tell us this kid's name he's 26 years old he very likely
00:32:39
has a state ID or a driver's license or has worked a job what's so curious to me is why LAPD
00:32:48
would choose not to release this this person's name he is considered he has to be considered a suspect even though it's
00:32:56
an undetermined death he does have to be considered a witness somebody that they
00:33:00
would like to speak to right in this death investigation what the [ __ ] is the problem yeah maybe they're it's just
00:33:08
they're holding back that information for for a reason well then tell us that reason right it's it's very incredibly
00:33:16
can you tell us the reason but you can tell us you're holding back that information
00:33:21
even if you just said for the protection of that individual it's fine you're in law you're in law
00:33:28
enforcement you can do that as long as you're working the case tell me something
00:33:32
LAPD has a less than pristine reputation you think and I'm I dude I'm a boy in blue I back the men and women in blue
00:33:41
daily yeah you don't have to say that every episode but the thing here is do the right thing
00:33:48
do the right thing so let's we we do need to talk about this other victim here Hannah Rachel Collins 30 years old
00:33:55
and she is uh a one-time resident of both Richland and Jackson Mississippi she pursued a radiology studies at
00:34:06
Holmes Community College and was employed at the time of her death and then this article wraps up by saying as
00:34:12
investigations continue authorities aim to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this perplexing case that
00:34:20
has left the family in mourning and a community seeking answers the point I was trying to make was the fact that we
00:34:27
have these rules and regulations to go well we can't run this type of genealogy test
00:34:36
until this time period of the investigation or until the individual was actually arrested that is protecting
00:34:43
criminals and we shouldn't have laws like that we should have less laws that protect
00:34:50
criminals and more laws that actually protect victims there are persons out there that are lobbying to take
00:34:56
genealogy detective work completely out of detective work to begin with you know
00:35:03
those those people are idiots and so and here's the thing you know we're talking
00:35:07
about this is now mind you we are recording this a few days in advance so all we can hope for
00:35:13
here is that before this reaches your ear balls they capture this monster in both cases whether they're connected
00:35:20
or not but capture this guy and here here's the thing this is an active very live very fresh
00:35:28
man hunt we do not know the name of the person that we are hunting we do not know the name of the person that killed
00:35:35
Rachel Marin but what we do know is we have his DNA and when we do find the individual we will be able to 100
00:35:42
percent clear a suspect or arrest them and have solid evidence to take this thing to court so what this situation
00:35:53
we're describing to you right here is a murder that took place less than two months ago
00:36:00
there's these types of cases in every jurisdiction in this country they're cold cases we have suspect
00:36:09
perpetrator DNA we have it somewhere on file we collected it at the murder scene
00:36:14
collected it from the victim some jurisdictions are doing the genealogy work we're allowed to and when
00:36:22
allowed to as the captain's pointing out and others jurisdictions are not Why Fools why why when when a when an
00:36:31
organization like the porch light project calls up a jurisdiction and says you have the suspect's DNA and a murder
00:36:38
case from 1992 and we are willing to pay for it to be tested in the private sector
00:36:45
why the hell would you say no but they do well that's why you should stop constantly claiming that you're a blue
00:36:54
blood well that person that answered the phone on that day does not represent men
00:36:59
and women of law enforcement in every jurisdiction across this country yeah that per we've said it a million times
00:37:06
there are people that are good at their jobs people that are bad at their jobs stupid or lazy every Walk of Life every
00:37:12
career has people that are good at their jobs and people that are bad at their jobs I mean there's also people there's
00:37:17
also people that don't even tick don't even tick don't even move the needle on the old give a [ __ ] factor on the old
00:37:24
give a [ __ ] meter they don't get they don't move the needle at all and so if if you don't care
00:37:32
give it to somebody that does care right and I hope I mean think about that I mean
00:37:40
well here I've tried to explain this to people I go because you know especially like people that like from our hometown
00:37:48
and stuff that go hey I listen to your podcast congratulations and you guys are doing big things and I
00:37:55
always say well you know yes I help out and I and I'll take some credit but I've said since we started this thing I
00:38:04
always applauded you because I felt like you have gone above and beyond I mean you spend a lot of time I mean heck just
00:38:11
to go to the meetings you have to travel a couple hours and what you guys are doing in Project porch light and look we
00:38:20
we always say a friend of the show James Renner but it's it's public knowledge that me and James have disagreed on
00:38:26
several things but I I have a hard time faulting the guy on anything because I I
00:38:32
also know how hard he's worked on the project porch light and when you guys go and connect with these departments and
00:38:40
then you've come back to me and said yeah we looked into this case and but they don't want our help
00:38:46
it makes no sense at all it's it's frustrating and uh and but I commend you and and you
00:38:55
know just as a side note if you have extra ten dollars in your pocket and you want it to go to a good fun you know
00:39:00
check out the porchlight project and uh donate if you can porchlightonline.org is where you can go
00:39:07
to learn more about that organization or to make a quick donation the here's here's the other reason for bringing up
00:39:13
this other case Captain right weather connected or not who has Authority who has jurisdiction
00:39:21
in both of the the cases LAPD the one the home invasion sexual assault case LAPD the one where the bodies found
00:39:29
wrapped up in in a son's bedroom and they're not releasing the son's name LAPD the reason why you bring up this
00:39:36
case even if it's not connected I think there's a chance that it could be that because it's not terribly far those two
00:39:43
La cases are not terribly far from one another in proximity but and in time frame too we we know that this this
00:39:50
young poor young woman was last heard from her family believes that they spoke to her on on August 7th so do you do you
00:39:57
got a killer bouncing back and forth across country or here's my other thing that I fear too
00:40:04
even if the cases are not connected what does the one case show us that for whatever reason LAPD is not releasing
00:40:12
that individual's name the body the person that that the room belongs to the person that sleeps in that bed in that
00:40:19
room where a body is found wrapped in plastic they've not released his name so it doesn't seem out of the realm of
00:40:29
possibility does it that they may know the name of the perpetrator in the home invasion
00:40:35
sexual assault case and for whatever reason they've come up with we're just not going to release their name yeah but
00:40:40
what's the joke what does LAPD stand for lazy ass Police Department thank God I don't have to go out there anytime soon
00:40:48
right we talked about uh Captain's not going to Florida guess where neither of us are
00:40:54
going for a long time well that's why I can't stay I want to go out there Sofi Stadium my goodness everybody wants to
00:40:59
go that's why I can't go to Florida because though if they find me they'll beat me half to death here's go ahead
00:41:07
so that's why I'm not going to hell either because yeah they'll be waiting for me at LAX they'll make an example
00:41:14
hey Captain uh what did you call those lazy ass Police Department we're gonna beat the hell out of you and look my
00:41:20
apologies if there's somebody out there listening that works for that department
00:41:24
and they want to call us up or tell us why everything seems a little weird out there please explain it to us we we will
00:41:31
quickly flip to the other side well no and like I said I mean the the problem with the title of this category that
00:41:39
everybody listens to and everybody watches it's called True Crime and the fact of the matter is I've been saying
00:41:45
it for seven years it should be called what we think we know so far because as much as we're bashing LAPD
00:41:54
there is a possibility that they're holding back this information for an actual good reason yeah for good reason
00:42:01
and so we can get frustrated but uh look it's but we don't know for for certain obviously and it's easy to
00:42:10
get worked up so in our defense it is easy to get worked up about these victims and people that have been
00:42:15
victimized and been killed in their and had good lives their whole life ahead of
00:42:21
them and were were snuffed out by some some monster and and you know I'm I'm glad I didn't
00:42:28
go on a 15-minute rant but I'm so sick and tired of these sexual assault and rape charges where we
00:42:34
have we start questioning the victim you know we don't we don't question robbery
00:42:39
victims we don't question murder victims you know I mean so well and that's the thing in in Rachel's case
00:42:46
that has sickened me where we have people that have come out and said well she went out there hiking or walking
00:42:54
alone well she was on a bunch of of dating websites uh she has five children look guess what kind of world I want to
00:43:03
live in a world where you can have five children be on dating websites and go out walking alone in a public place and
00:43:08
not get murdered I just like to start living in a society where men in general respect women more
00:43:14
and I know like complete monsters and I and I know that there's a lot of good guys out there and that's also the
00:43:21
frustrating thing though too is like it seems like there's a lot of women that don't
00:43:26
they're not interested in the good guys they're a little boring you know but it's like you know
00:43:32
having a man respect you should be high on your list and and and this is stuff that we can be
00:43:38
teaching our society and and we you know don't get me started on the school system but it's like let's knock
00:43:46
off this whole standardized School testing [ __ ] and let's teach some you know basic respect and
00:43:53
responsibilities and financial responsibilities and but we're never going to do one person I do want to give
00:43:59
a shout out to here before we wrap up Captain is Nancy Grace who many have followed in the True Crime world for
00:44:06
many years she's been obviously been on TV podcast all different forms of media throughout the years I did tune in and
00:44:16
listen to a portion of her show where the sheriff from Harford County was having a conversation with Nancy
00:44:24
Grace and the sheriff out there is Jeffrey Galler I love what he and his department is doing with the YouTube
00:44:32
videos with the updates with the press conferences being as transparent as they can be again they've held back a lot of
00:44:38
information but being up front with the public asking the public for help and then going out and spreading the word so
00:44:46
he goes on as a guest on Nancy Grace's show and the reason why Nancy gets a big shout out this week is because they're
00:44:53
discussing the video of the home Invader sexual assault person perpetrator leaving the home caught on the doorbell
00:45:02
Camera in La and they're discussing how he got lucky right you can only see the back of his head and he turns just so
00:45:10
slightly but you can't see his face and Nancy said look the back of this man's head is not going to identify him
00:45:18
to the public unless he unless he wear a Conehead would be the only would be the only way
00:45:24
that the back of this man's head would lead to an arrest but regardless of that of that great joke that that Nancy threw
00:45:31
out there we beg all of you please go and check out this video take a look at this person because it could help you
00:45:39
out you may see this person out there and if he's out there Crossing Country if he's out there crossing the country
00:45:47
crossing over state lines going into different communities and assaulting and killing people we all need to be on the
00:45:54
lookout for this individual because most likely I would almost bet money that this is a serial
00:46:01
killer and he'll be connected to other cases and um or a serial killer in the making
00:46:07
yeah and you know we don't always agree with Nancy Grace she used to annoy the crap out of me but you know I met her in
00:46:15
person at crime con years ago and she Charmed the pants off me so he's never put him back on ever since
00:46:22
