Midlothian Church police have video of her killer but to have sorted through 1400 tips but as news 8's Tanya Eiser

reports it's not enough to solve this case a seven second video captured the mysterious killer with a distinctive

walk roaming around midlothian's Creekside Church of Christ for a half hour dressed all in black in police

tactical gear and a bulletproof vest Missy beavers there to teach an early morning Camp Gladiator class was killed

with puncture wounds to the head and chest the morning of April 18 2016. if you would have told me that we would be

in this parking lot talking about this case a year later without your out of your mind
00:03:39
we're killing shocked the Tiny Town and made national headlines nothing was taken not even beavers's iPad and
00:03:46
planner what the killer used to kill her investigators won't say or even if they've recovered that Weapon It's a
00:03:52
vital um Brandon beavers was not talking today it's him sobbing at a vigil the day
00:04:10
after her death through because you have sad moments you have Angry moments you have moments of
00:04:16
where you're up here because you remember all the amazing things that she did and she said and Renee Jones is the
00:04:21
head trainer for Camp Gladiator and a friend of beavers the hardest part for us is just just the acknowledgment and

uh without knowing you know like everybody else she has faith that the killer will

be caught tonight's workout she's teaching will be in her friend's honor there's a lot of there's a lot of um

split opinions on this case whether she was targeted or not but it was random some people see a woman in that video

some people see a man and so who killed Missy beavers remains a mystery a year later

Midlothian Texas is located about 25 miles Southwest of Dallas Texas now back in 2010 the population was listed at
00:05:11
about 18 000 people so today let's say the population is probably somewhere around the 20 000 Mark now our story
00:05:19
starts off on Monday April 18 2016. Terry Missy beavers is 45 years old will go by she goes by Missy most of
00:05:29
the time so we will refer to her as Missy beavers she's a fitness instructor she's married she's the mother of three
00:05:38
daughters she was found murdered on that Monday inside the Creekside Church in mid in Midlothian Texas where she was
00:05:46
scheduled to teach a class earlier that morning later that day the Midlothian police
00:05:52
department released surveillance video from the church that showed Missy's killer now this person is dressed in
00:06:00
police tactical gear walking through the halls of the church opening doors and breaking glass prior to Missy's arrival
00:06:09
initial reports suggested that Missy may have been may have interrupted a burglary in progress at the church and
00:06:16
that she had been killed as a result But as time went on police revealed that they were working on the theory that
00:06:23
Missy had been targeted now I thought captain that this was somewhat of a popular case however when
00:06:30
we started working on this I quickly realized it's not as well known as I had expected but if you've never heard of
00:06:36
this case well hold on to your seats because this thing is very interesting this is an interesting case especially
00:06:42
with that surveillance footage and we'll get to that shortly one this surveillance footage is going to give
00:06:48
the police some kind of timeline of these events but again this is going to be very similar to like the Delphi
00:06:55
murders or there is some video evidence that they released to the public but I'm
00:07:00
assuming that this is a very small fragment of a of the amount of information that the police have
00:07:05
okay so here's a timeline of what we know that occurred on April 18th at an unknown time a person this could be a
00:07:13
man or a woman disguised in what can only best be described as police tactical gear this looks like something
00:07:19
that you would expect to see a police officer wearing for a riot situation or like a possible SWAT uniform
00:07:27
but this person arrives at the church and forces their way inside now at 3 50 a.m the suspect is first seen on
00:07:37
surveillance video at 4 16 a.m Missy is seen on surveillance video arriving in the parking lot and entering the church
00:07:45
building I want to discuss this portion before we get to the video here because this is the way that the police they
00:07:54
announced this timeline and this sentence here has caused a lot of speculation because they said Missy is
00:08:01
seen on surveillance video arriving in the parking lot and entering the church building we have not seen any video
00:08:08
footage from outside of the church building itself okay uh so there's there's speculation as to was there any
00:08:16
cameras outside of this building you know facing the parking lot I think what what has happened here is that there's
00:08:23
not any surveillance video from outside of the building right I think that they just made this statement
00:08:30
um because she is she is killed when she enters the church building itself I think that the statement is just unclear
00:08:39
the way that they said this I don't think there is actually any video from outside of the building itself now at
00:08:44
5am this was the scheduled time for her class that she was teaching this is when
00:08:50
the first 9-1-1 calls come in from Missy's students who had arrived at the church reporting that Missy is
00:08:57
unresponsive so officers and EMS arrived on the scene and they discovered what they said is a lot of broken glass on
00:09:05
the floor inside the building the day prior to the murder Missy had posted on her Facebook page that she was
00:09:11
going to be hosting the class the next morning at 5 a.m rain or shine and it was raining that morning well yeah
00:09:19
because I believe this class was something that they would do outside yeah so since there was going to be rain
00:09:25
they had to move the location to the church yeah and I think her statement was something like you know even though
00:09:30
it's raining we will still be training and so like the captain said they moved the class inside so she's killed when
00:09:37
she arrives at the church um very quickly after her arrival and then the students find her or well the
00:09:45
people in her class find her at 5am now what I think we should do Captain is I think we should watch the video describe
00:09:51
what we're seeing because there are people that are listening that have not seen the video uh they're still not
00:09:56
going to see it on the podcast so we'll describe what we see and discuss some of
00:10:01
the topics uh that in questions that this video presents and this footage is very short but I'll I'll copy this

when we first the first image that we see is we see somebody walking into the building

um they're coming through a door um we don't see how the person ganged access to the building itself but the

first thing that's the haunting image that you notice is this appears to be a police officer wearing SWAT gear and

we're talking about there's a vest there's dark pants dark boots uh or dark tennis shoes there's
00:10:47
some debate about that but they have the helmet on as well and the on the vest it
00:10:52
says police on the back um and it looks to me at one point in the video like I can see the plates you
00:11:01
know how they put like plates inside these vests to make them bulletproof I think I see a plate there but this
00:11:09
suspect walks through a door and then goes to the next door and tries to force it open no no the the
00:11:18
scene starts with the the suspect at a door opening a door but it's not going through that door okay so how did the
00:11:26
suspect get to this door we don't know right it just starts with it you know the suspect's hand is on a door or this
00:11:33
tool that they have to open up the doors um and what I'm assuming is they have a
00:11:39
tool that they're just pushing the door lock and then that's opening up the door
00:11:43
for him so not a lot of effort to open up that door yeah so you're right so they do not enter they don't walk
00:11:50
through that door they just open it up and they don't even really go into whatever room that appears to be
00:11:57
no that's it looks like they just look inside yeah so again like we said there's a helmet there's black shirt

there's the black vest there's uh black pants boots gloves but the interesting thing about the helmet is it seems
00:12:12
pretty shiny it doesn't seem like a flat uh black or a matte black finish which you would think would be more
00:12:19
um you know official police uniform because you don't have a SWAT a team helmet where it's shiny because then if
00:12:26
they're trying to take cover um you know whoever they're taking cover from could see where they're at based on
00:12:32
the shine of their helmet this part right here is very interesting to me Captain because the person the suspect
00:12:37
is trying to force open this door and look what do you see in the hands there I see what looks to be like a hammer a
00:12:46
pretty heavy duty Hammer um along with a like a pry bar um and it looks to me like the person
00:12:53
like you said jams the pry bar in between the the the door in the frame right and can't get this door open so
00:13:02
they use the hammer to bang on the end of the pry bar like they're going to force it open
00:13:08
but we will see the suspect very quickly give up on trying to get into this door
00:13:14
yeah so the first door is interesting that they want to open and they don't really go into it has a little window
00:13:20
and then this next door that they're trying to open doesn't have a window so again this is a church some would
00:13:26
speculate that it's a Monday so maybe that this person is breaking in into the church so they could steal the the
00:13:32
offerings of of that Sunday yeah they're the person after after giving up on trying to get into the door they adjust
00:13:40
their gloves or make sure that their gloves are secure on them yeah and probably more important than that and
00:13:47
you know we kind of talked about is there a hammer is there also like some pry bar uh this kind of clearly shows
00:13:54
that the suspect is putting something away onto the right side of their body and then also holding on to something in
00:14:01
their left side of the body so indicating that there would be two objects right and one of the big things
00:14:07
in this case is do police officers do do law enforcement do they have the weapon
00:14:12
the murder weapon well in this case this shows that there's possibility of having
00:14:17
two different murder weapons yeah and at this point the person appears to put the
00:14:22
pry bar away like maybe in a belt or in their pocket and then turns and kind of faces the camera and you see the this
00:14:32
weird with their feet kind of up apart their toes pointing outward but legs together and then they start
00:14:40
walking near the camera and at this point you can see the the hammer is still in this person's hand
00:14:48
yeah and I think this is the most enter you know most interesting part of the video footage when they talk about this
00:14:54
gate uh and that's the way in which a person walks now there was actually some speculation on this case that the person
00:15:02
that was walking uh in this surveillance footage was walking with a fake walk to
00:15:09
me there doesn't look anything fake about it doesn't seem like the person's um you know it seems like the person's
00:15:15
really focused on getting on the door and when it's they can't get in the door they take off walking they're not
00:15:20
thinking too much about uh their mannerisms right and the best way the way that I I've thought that this was
00:15:27
best described um is that I've heard one person say that uh that a very unorthodox and
00:15:34
unnatural posture and stance especially when walking and it's it's what's been described as a
00:15:41
wide gate and at 50 seconds into this video and again posting the video that we're talking about on the website True
00:15:48
Crime garage.com when you look at this footage on about 50 seconds in this is a another thing
00:15:55
that people speculate a lot too is how big is this individual you know you know how round are they so
00:16:04
here's a couple things I find interesting at at 50 and 51 it looks like this individual might have somewhat
00:16:11
of a belly right but once you get to uh let me get there yeah I'm with you it looks like the person has a belly and
00:16:21
then you know there's been debate are those the plates that are in the vest or does this person have some boobage or
00:16:29
some or or some kind of belly uh because again we don't know if this is a man or
00:16:34
a woman or is it boobage and a belly right but here at 50 about the 54 Mark um the person is very close to the
00:16:43
camera at this point and they kind of turn to their side and I don't think the person looks
00:16:49
to have much of a belly there no it looks more like you're seeing the vest yeah and that's again and you get a
00:16:56
closer look at this helmet again it's this shiny helmet again how authentic is this helmet I would say not very
00:17:04
authentic now this next part on the on the video is one that I've watched this small clip time and time again it the
00:17:13
person walks up to a door and opens up the door great you know grabs the doorknob opens up the door and
00:17:22
there then the top of the door does not open it's one of those split doors and to me I've watched this part over
00:17:30
and over again well let's go back a little bit let's let's start at the 55 second Mark okay and this is when the
00:17:38
individual is going to walk across the screen again it almost looks like the individual is walking with a limp uh
00:17:45
looks like it's almost dragging the right foot a little bit mm-hmm uh some people have speculated that
00:17:51
maybe this person has either a fake leg or in my world maybe a peg leg or an injury of some sort one thing I do want
00:18:02
to mention here Captain though is look what the person just walked past on their way to that door we've seen
00:18:09
early in the video we see this person try opens up one door goes to the immediate next door and then tries to
00:18:16
pry that door open and this scene they walk right by two different doors one one that is open and one that is
00:18:25
closed without attempting to go into the open door or even try the closed door well and the other speculation here too
00:18:34
is you almost see a little bit about 59 seconds in you'd see almost like some light hitting the the bottom in that
00:18:44
maybe this person has a little bit of a donkey donk I think it's the scientific term yeah we're using a lot of big
00:18:50
scientific words uh boobage and Badonkadonk are teachers and professors would be very impressed
00:18:57
um so then now the person walks up to this door it looks like double doors and then let's get back to the
00:19:04
Badonkadonk do you see that little bubble butt I see it but you would you you know what I actually think I'm
00:19:10
seeing there I think that that's either the vest extends down and hangs and kind
00:19:16
of dangles there no or let me throw this at you I think this person may have some kind
00:19:23
of what I'm going to refer to as a like a Batman utility belt that that this person may have a lot of
00:19:30
different tools and equipment with them we've already seen a pry bar and a hammer
00:19:36
yeah so I don't know that I see a badonkadonk I think yeah but I feel like I see something hanging off of this
00:19:42
person I think it's also possible that this individual is wearing multiple layers of clothes so this could be like
00:19:47
you know pants on top of pants so stop it right there so we have the 110 Mark is the door that this person opens up
00:19:55
and this is the scene that I've watched over and over again watch this yeah 103.

yeah 103 sorry he Nicks a little further away from the screen than I am so and these might be a little more drunk

than some of them so yeah the individual goes and clearly at 103 if you pause it
00:20:14
you can see a hammer a hammer that's absolutely a hammer and that's in the left hand and
00:20:19
it doesn't look like it doesn't look like a regular hammer it looks to me like a heavy duty claw hammer but just
00:20:25
watch from one 102 to 103 when you hit play it's almost like they lost balance a
00:20:33
little bit then they open the bottom door they open the top door now this as this individual is opening up this uh
00:20:41
what do they call that kind of door well I'm I'm just going to call it a split door so the bottom the bottom portion
00:20:47
opens since we're going with a all these technical terms and then the top the top
00:20:51
part opens as well but they don't open together and this is the part I've watched over and over again the suspect
00:20:57
opens up the bottom portion of the door and then if you if you play that again the suspect then like looks upward like
00:21:05
almost in surprise that the whole door didn't open up right and that's one thing I kept going back and forth on
00:21:12
here has this person been in the building before or not and it looks to me like this person's not been in the
00:21:19
building before or or didn't know that this door would would not open normally right now but this individual has been
00:21:24
in this church for how long now um well they would have been in the church for about
00:21:31
a half an hour before she's killed um now why was this individual able to walk through this church building
00:21:38
without the cops showing up um I don't think there's any alarm on the building no there's not right so
00:21:46
that that would go with the question a lot of people started to assume well this person knew that this church didn't
00:21:52
have alarm right and then they knew that they could get into the building and they could take their time so now the
00:21:58
person's opened up that split door and stepped inside but very quickly turns around and exits that room whatever that
00:22:06
room is yeah and that's another thing that's kind of difficult with this whole situation is you don't know the building
00:22:12
yourself so you have no clue if they're opening up a closet or if they're opening up like an actual classroom or
00:22:18
what they're opening because you know again the speculation at first is that she you know Missy uh beavers walks into
00:22:26
a situation where somebody is breaking and and stealing stuff or or planning to steal stuff in a church yeah and and she
00:22:35
just kind of walks in on that and that's why this crime took place and so when you see this footage you go well while
00:22:42
this individual is not stealing anything in this next portion we will see the individual walking down the hallway and
00:22:48
then they appear to turn to their right and possibly go down another hallway or or step into a hallway
00:22:56
[Music] well no it looks like they sit at a door for a while oh yeah yeah I saw it and uh
00:23:02
so let's let me go back just a second bear with us people all right so yeah about 117 118 they're

messing with some other door yeah you're right there is a door there you can see
00:23:14
yeah but what's weird with this video footage at least the one that I'm going to post on the thing or post on the
00:23:19
website is it almost seems like the video freezes for a second yeah no leg movement all of a sudden but all of a
00:23:27
sudden he's uh he or she's in a different portion of the hallway and now walking back almost retracing their
00:23:32
steps yeah towards and again you can see something in the right hand I don't know
00:23:37
if you can see anything in the left hand I don't see anything in the left hand it
00:23:41
looks to me like that's still the hammer in the right hand yeah again so you know
00:23:46
the speculation whether this is a break-in and look here here's what we do know it's a break-in right and there are
00:23:53
people that just have broke into buildings before and they don't steal anything yeah so then you see the person
00:24:00
walking and kind of tapping or padding on the wall Very casually as they're walking down the hallway
00:24:06
um and at one point you we will see this individual coming through a door uh seems like a different hallway yeah
00:24:16
and I can't tell if that's light shining from the other room or reflecting off of
00:24:20
this helmet but there's kind of a flash of light and then there's something in the person's hand so we see the hammer
00:24:26
what appears like they're swinging the hammer and busting open a door or maybe some glass on there doing so with the
00:24:32
right hand with their right hand there's something in the left hand and this is not the pry bar that I saw earlier this
00:24:38
is like oh I can only describe it as like a white box um but yeah so did this person take this
00:24:47
box with them or or was this something that they picked up inside the yeah was this
00:24:52
something they picked up inside the building and stole stole or was this something that was brought into the
00:24:57
church with them um and this is where after after the suspect smashes we can't see if that's a
00:25:05
window or a door almost looks like it has a flashlight on its belt see that right there
00:25:12
yeah there's something dangling from from a bell or from a pocket it could be keys or a small flashlight right I can't
00:25:21
really tell what it is and then you see the person walking nonchalantly down the
00:25:24
hallway and padding on the wall or touching the wall as they walk what what I see Captain is somebody that doesn't
00:25:31
seem to be in any kind of hurry at all this person's not in a hurry this uh this person also I don't think they
00:25:39
think the police are ever going to show up or this person by this point knows that there's a no alarm on the building
00:25:46
they're not afraid of somebody showing up the I can't explain to you how casual this person looks right but that would
00:25:53
make me believe that this suspect knew this building didn't have alarm system right and also that this building had
00:26:01
surveillance and here's another thing that's interesting like we said the the main uh
00:26:08
speculation is that there is no surveillance of the parking lot so this individual might have known that as well
00:26:16
we're talking about a very small town I mean I come from a pretty small town right out outside of Columbus and
00:26:23
looking at maybe like I don't know forty five thousand fifty thousand and this this town is under 20 000. right

this is a pretty small community everybody kind of probably knows everybody yeah um Here's my thought uh on the
00:26:40
person busting in these doors and attempting to open these doors I think that the person is looking for the for
00:26:49
where whatever room that the camera uh system is is operating from the AV Equipment yeah looking to destroy that
00:26:58
computer or whatever is housing that information all right so you're talking about the actual surveillance of the
00:27:05
church yes I don't mean that he he or she was looking to steal AV Equipment that you know expensive uh AV Equipment
00:27:13
I think they're looking to destroy the video footage that has captured them and captured their image well Brandon

beavers talks about this a little bit because when they talk about why would you break into a church maybe for the
00:27:25
collection money uh most churches will not just have you know lose money on them
00:27:31
um and a lot of people will pay through like debit cards now or they'll pay with
00:27:36
checks yeah um so he was thinking that maybe one of the main reasons somebody would want to
00:27:40
break into a church is to steal their audio and visual equipment because they have a lot of projectors and recording
00:27:47
equipment and so maybe that would be their motive let's get back to this right after this quick beer break

I want to start off Captain by talking about this outfit and I'm going to call it an outfit for now because more

costume yeah costume because it could be just that um we what it appears to be obviously is

SWAT uniform or riot gear tactical police tactical gear but let's start and go kind of head to toe here because you

hit on something that that is an interesting observation regarding the helmet now is this helmet a real helmet

and you you touched on the fact that it's a very in the video it's a very shiny helmet it's not that matte finish

and I would think that if this is a real Police SWAT helmet that this would not be very it wouldn't be something you
00:28:56
would want to be shiny right isn't part of that thing it's part for protection but also partly to conceal you you know

they make these things black for a reason yeah and it's possible that would be like a training helmet yeah if there

is such a thing so a lot of people have said this could possibly be a costume um that this this would be like a

Halloween costume and you wonder well who just has Halloween costumes laying around at the ready uh I think that

that's actually kind of a common thing um I know that uh okay explain yourself well let me explain this to you okay

okay please do so in my home right now I have a costume okay and the reason being

is every year I get invited to the Halloween party um and I I have gone back in in the past

I've gone to Halloween parties in no costume at all because I'm not a real festive person so if somebody invites me

to the Halloween party I just didn't I didn't take the time to go purchase a costume so what I did was one year I

purchased a costume after the Halloween party it goes into a box and then every Halloween if I'm invited to another

party I pull it out and I'm the same thing every year and this is what uh I'm a knight a knight a knight yeah like you

carry a sword and you have like the armor and everything I have a little bit of armor and in a small Cape

um so I I do think that it's possible that maybe somebody had a Halloween type costume at the ready I don't see a

Halloween costume this to me looks a little too heavy duty uh to especially the vest the the vest appears to me to

be real um I do think this is something that you don't have to be law enforcement or
00:30:43
previous law enforcement to own one of these vests I I would imagine you could get them online or some type of army

surplus store or something like that I was doing a little digging into the army surplus store stuff a lot of the stuff

that is like uh Official Police official Army that you have to have identification in order to be able to
00:31:02
purchase that okay and not just like a driver's license like you can't purchase some like
00:31:07
um and I could be wrong but this is the information that I was digging into that
00:31:12
if it was like a Official Police Issue or a military issue that you'd have to have have that identification so and but
00:31:23
so to me this costume it kind of seems like it's a kind of in between okay you know something being official or
00:31:30
authentic and kind of a makeshift costume I mean it's pretty easy to go out it looks like this individual is

wearing you know probably black pants that you probably would get like cargo pants something that you would get at an
00:31:44
army surplus store um you know it's really hard to tell what kind of jacket they're wearing
00:31:50
underneath this vest right um but it seems like it's kind of maybe looser at the bottom again this is all

stuff that you could get at an army surplus store the vest is the thing that becomes in question like you were saying
00:32:02
before I I have a hard time explaining this vest because like the police and on the
00:32:09
back it looks very official but the helmet again that that just looks like but I don't think the helmet is a
00:32:16
costume helmet like one of those plastic fake helmets like a motorcycle helmet yeah or a dirt bike helmet yeah it's a
00:32:23
legitimate helmet but is it a legitimate uh SWAT team helmet I would say no I I I'm gonna go with no I think it's a
00:32:31
motorcycle helmet or a dirt bike helmet I now other people have argued about the
00:32:36
shoes or boots are these black shoes or are they boots to me they look like boots
00:32:42
um and you know the person's wearing gloves as well but I I'm with you Captain I think this outfit was pieced

together I don't think somebody went to somewhere and purchased a head to toe riot gear outfit I think this thing was

kind of pieced together well let's talk about one of the things that they can kind of figure out by this

um by this video what they can do is they can measure certain you know door lengths uh tile links and they can start

figuring out the dimensions of the suspect and one of the things that they came up with which I still think is a

little too vague and I think it would be nice if they'd come up with a little bit

more concrete evidence here but they're saying that the suspects in between five

itself well if you look at the evidence of the break-in uh first of all there was a main window where the screen was

broken out and they they kind of stopped trying to break into that window and then they went through the door and they

just busted through the glass window these you'll see it in the video footage too uh the the front doors are the same

where there's kind of a small glass window they hit the glass put their hand in open up the door

um now law enforcement are kind of confused by the whole possibly trying to break through the window because they

of death however it was quickly figured out because they were issuing some uh search warrants and in one of the

warrants it stated that she had that Missy had died from puncture wounds to the head and chest area those could have

person was breaking into this building into this church for the sole purpose of not burglary but to attack this Fitness

uh trainer and one of the evidence of that or one one speculation one can make is that this person is wearing
