the brutal shooting of harold and thelma swain harold was a well-respected deacon of

the church and a member of the county jury thelma his wife of 43 years was also active in church affairs

on the night they were murdered harold and thelma held their weekly tuesday night bible class

while when i got there there was a lot of confusion no one really knew what had happened

they didn't know what the facts were they didn't know who had done the killing they didn't know what the motive

was the people there were very frightened swains highly respected people very active in the community

are just not the type of person that would be the victim of a murder plot there was a lot of physical evidence at

the scene bullet casings two pair of glasses one we were able to determine belong to harold swane

the other pair no one knew who they belonged to the first gut reaction that i had was a

transit because the glasses appeared to belong to a person who did not have enough money to
