This episode covers the life and crimes of Freddy GS, a notorious hitman involved with the Italian mafia, and his violent acts while incarcerated. Key discussions include his early life in Springfield, Massachusetts, his rise in organized crime, and the brutal murders he committed both outside and inside prison.

Freddy GS, born in 1966, grew up in a troubled environment and was influenced by his brother Tai and friend Anthony Rada, who introduced him to a life of crime. His criminal activities escalated after his incarceration, where he continued to engage in violence.

The episode details Freddy's involvement with the Genovese crime family, including a planned hit on a rival mobster, Frank D'Ambrosio, which ultimately failed. His reputation grew as he committed further murders, including that of informant Gary Westerman.

Freddy's most shocking act occurred when he brutally killed Whitey Bulger in prison, just hours after Bulger's arrival at USP Hazelton. This act solidified Freddy's status as a feared figure among inmates.

As of October 2023, Freddy GS remains incarcerated in a high-security prison, with ongoing discussions about his potential for further violence.

00:00:05
in the United States of America some of the world's most dangerous and violent
00:00:10
criminals are locked behind bars one of the most notorious is Freddy GS Freddy had no remorse at all with any
00:00:26
murder he did Freddy shot him in in the skull he was recruited by the mafia to settle scores and take out their Rivals
00:00:36
he was shot nine times off from the Torso off his head his neck I remember the first thing that we found was it was
00:00:44
a sneaker still attached to his skeletal remains GS got away with murder for years he would have enjoyed playing and
00:00:54
manipulating the law enforcement agencies trying to catch him knowing that he was doing all of these things
00:01:00
and that he wasn't getting caught he did finally get caught but being behind bars
00:01:05
only made Freddy more brutal if you're an inmate and you have a reputation of
00:01:11
violence that reputation Will Follow You GS beat Whitey buer to death yesterday morning his eyes nearly gouged
00:01:21
out he didn't like snitches he had a lot of reasons to have revenge and kill him
00:01:28
don't mess with that guy that guy will handle his business GES was able to go
00:01:33
from his cell with the lock and the sock and beat him to death GS was willing to accomplish his
00:01:41
goals of Murder by any means necessary doing way with people that needed to be done away
00:01:51
[Music] with [Music] USP Hazelton is a high Security federal prison in West Virginia conditions inside are so severe
00:02:21
it's known by its inmates as misery Mountain it has a reputation as being a really violent place you kind of have to
00:02:29
fight for your life and there's just you know this constant need to to look over
00:02:33
your shoulder over the years I believe there's been several murders [Music] there one of the most brutal inmates to
00:02:45
have been held in Hazelton Penitentiary is Freddy GS Freddy GS is a lifelong criminal who
00:02:55
began engaging in criminal activity in his early teens him and his brother they had a reputation as being pretty tough
00:03:03
kids and they and they were feared Freddy Gus is extremely dangerous he was of Greek descent yet he was hired
00:03:13
as a Hitman by the Italian mob he liked the notoriety of being known as a killer being in prison did
00:03:21
not stop gs's Lust For Blood once he was incarcerated he continued to engage in
00:03:28
Murder gize was able to beat him to death with the with the lock and the sock he continued to be a Hitman for the
00:03:36
mob because he actually enjoyed engaging in that Behavior photos AKA Freddy GS was born
00:03:47
in 1966 in Springfield Massachusetts where he grew up with his family and younger
00:03:53
brother Tai at that time it was a troubled City plagued by poverty where jobs were scarce as teenagers Freddy and
00:04:03
Ty would get into numerous brawls the brother Tai had a lot of more arrests and I don't remember Freddy getting in
00:04:11
any trouble until the mid90s what I did know about him was he was very capable at violence if it came
00:04:19
to that following a serious fight Freddy's brother Tai ended up behind bars so I'm Anthony Rada former boss of
00:04:29
the the Springfield crew of the geneves crime family I went to a state prison for a 5-year prison sentence for having
00:04:38
a possessing a firearm discharging a firearm as I was doing my state prison sentence uh I met Tai gas uh in 1990 I
00:04:50
was already there I was uh in conquered State Prison fiercely loyal to his brother Freddy would frequently visit
00:04:57
Tai in prison I first met Freddy gz in 1990 he used to come up and visit his brother Tai and I used to be an inmate
00:05:08
with Tai and so we would meet up visits in contrast to his brother Freddy GS seemed like a good family man Freddy was
00:05:17
uh working for his uh family's jewelry store and he really wasn't a street guy
00:05:24
he was married with uh children and he didn't go out at night he was usually
00:05:28
home with his wife and kids contrary to appearances he was already well on his way to forging a
00:05:38
criminal career his crimes that he did at that young age was like credit card scams and he would make fake cocaine and
00:05:48
you know Rob people that way Freddy was inspired by his brother Tai and friend Anthony to take his next
00:05:58
steps into a life of of crime I think what changed with Freddy was me and his brother going to prison at a young age
00:06:05
and coming out with all the stories that we had we had a lot of fun in prison we
00:06:11
were wild and you know fighting and doing illegal things making money in there it doesn't stop just cuz you're in
00:06:18
prison you can still continue to make money gambling and drugs I think Freddy kind of like those you know that you
00:06:27
know being away in a tough prison it kind of like put him to the path of you know that type of
00:06:35
Lifestyle having served their time Anthony and Tai were soon released from prison but the pair remained
00:06:45
friends it's very common that that some bonds and relationships are established
00:06:50
within the prison system and they're very strong they stay with these these individuals when they get out on the
00:06:56
[Music] street with Freddy's marriage now on the Rocks he was slipping deeper into the criminal
00:07:08
underworld he ended up getting divorced and everything and he started coming around a little bit more but as far as
00:07:15
making the money it didn't happen with him until he got in trouble in the mid
00:07:19
90s for robbing a tractor trailer with computers and things like that on it Freddy JS went to prison like I think in
00:07:29
9 7 and he got a 4-year sentence prison is an extremely dangerous place for both officers and
00:07:41
inmates I would say more so for inmates because they cannot leave they're in
00:07:45
there and we can only do so much for Freddy GS being in prison was an inspiration when Freddy was in prison
00:07:54
like he liked being around those type of guys that committed multiple murders and
00:07:59
were respected the way they were in [Music] prison that's pretty much when his life
00:08:12
of crime really started is when he came home from doing that prison sentence and
00:08:16
that's when we uh got to become better friends we were young guys growing up
00:08:24
violent so we would fight rival gangs in the uh City he fit in with us and fit in with me in my group
00:08:34
if there was a fight and we got into T Freddy would be there and we would be able to commit violence like I was used
00:08:41
to growing up with their reputations on the rise in Springfield it wasn't long until one of
00:08:50
America's oldest and most feared criminal organizations got in touch Springfield had a pretty
00:09:00
established presence of the Italian mafia dating back decades uh in Western Massachusetts in
00:09:08
this area where I was assigned it was the geneves crime family these people are uh they're out there for themselves
00:09:18
they don't take from the rich and give to the poor they take from everybody and
00:09:22
they give to themselves genev crime family is probably the largest most powerful Ian
00:09:29
organized crime family in the country they work out of New York Springfield had its own faction with many members
00:09:36
and Associates the Springfield mob created a climate of fear in the local community
00:09:44
terrorizing shops and business owners the geneves made members and their Associates largely involved
00:09:52
extortion uh book making uh lone sharking typical type of street racket that was their uh most cash lucrative
00:10:03
Endeavors Freddy now 34 single and involved with organized crime decided he wanted to be part of the
00:10:13
family that's when his mindset really became more to get involved in organized
00:10:20
crime stuff Mafia stuff Hollywood has always glorified the mob and we as viewers have always been fascinated with
00:10:27
the mob and people like John Gotti and even uh you know Scarface or all those kind of mob movies so I wonder if GS
00:10:38
thought of himself as maybe a different kind of criminal he probably enjoyed engaging in violence but it was
00:10:46
justified because it was for this bigger cause which is this Organized Crime Mob Freddy and his brother Tai quickly
00:10:55
gained a fearsome reputation Freddy G I was familiar with the name as well as his brother Tai they were known
00:11:04
individuals in the West Springfield area that were involved in various crimes things along the line of theft
00:11:10
crimes of of violence they became Mafia mercenaries you know if we had to give a
00:11:18
guy a beating if somebody bothered their family my family or somebody disrespected us um Freddy and Tha were
00:11:24
those guys that would come with me the jfes mob family was very notorious is particularly back then and so it Paints
00:11:33
the idea that GS wanted to be notorious he wanted to be Infamous he probably did
00:11:38
want to rise the ranks the fact that he was somehow tied to the geneves family was probably a huge ego
00:11:45
feeder when it came time to use guns and kill those two were the ones that I singled out to be with
00:11:55
[Music] me Freddy GS had turned from familyman to mobster the mafia was a global
00:12:08
organization that pretty much rivaled you know governments I mean it it controlled the union it controlled
00:12:16
politicians it controlled law enforcement up until a certain point Freddy was operating across the
00:12:26
state border helping the top mob boss Arty so around 2003 there was a uh beef going
00:12:34
on in New York City involving Arty Nigro and this man named Frank [Music] davel we learned that he had uh upset or
00:12:43
disrespected somehow Arty Nigro who was the acting boss of the geneves crime family Ry was a boss and he wanted this
00:12:52
man killed Freddy and his brother Ty were the men for the job there was a meticulous planning that
00:13:03
went on they were told where this gentleman lived the apartment block that he got up every morning at such a Time
00:13:09
came out crossed the street got in his car we have to leave at like 3:00 in the morning to get there cuz he leaves his
00:13:14
house at 6 finally after weeks of preparation Freddy and Tai were ready to carry out
00:13:22
the hit in New York they traveled down Freddy was the driver we're driving with guns with
00:13:32
silencers men with our records get pulled over with those guns in the car were're going to get a 20-year sentence
00:13:38
just for having the guns so there was a lot of risk and a lot of chance they got to the busy New York
00:13:46
Street where Frank dato lived the countdown to the assassination in broad daylight had
00:13:58
begun so me and Ty were sitting on a bench in New York Freddy was parked down the
00:14:02
street we're waiting for Frank the dable to come out of his house out comes Frank the dable from his
00:14:14
apartment and they observed this gentleman exit his house and they started approaching his
00:14:23
car the guy quickly shut the door it just stood right outside his window firing handguns through the
00:14:35
glass yeah he was shot nine times off from the torso up his head his neck the two of them ran back got in the
00:14:45
car and they they took off got out of the area and left the guy all assumptions were he was
00:14:53
dead miraculously he lived so a miracle that he lived Mr dbo knew enough the people involved
00:15:06
and who might have ordered this and decided not to make any fuss didn't cooperate with the
00:15:11
police Freddy G is changed after the Frank Theo hit and then you know he you could tell that he liked
00:15:22
it with the shooting of Union boss Frank dato Freddy gas had been given a taste of violent crime with the genovesi
00:15:31
family that was Freddy's first major you would call it a mob hit or you know whatever you want to call it that
00:15:39
was the first one now he was ready for more he liked the notoriety of being known as a killer where you know I would
00:15:48
pretty much not want people to know you know like if somebody gets killed let them think that guy did it and let me
00:15:57
have no in they think I had no involvement that's how I would want to be but he was different he would want to
00:16:03
be known as the guy that killed him Freddy jumped at the chance to solve another problem the mafia
00:16:15
way the name of the problem Gary Westerman we got word that Gary was an informant working for the um State
00:16:27
Police we knew we could get get him we devised a plan and we said let's kill
00:16:32
Gary So the plan was hatched that they would lure Mr Westerman to a unknown residence they would get Mr Westman to
00:16:42
go to this house under the pretense of we were going to rob this house this is where uh I had um two
00:16:55
houses uh one of which was my uh IED as a stash house once you get off the street here there's nobody that even
00:17:03
knows that you're up here so that's why I really like the this area it was a
00:17:08
good location if you will to to commit this type of crime Freddy joined Anthony to make preparations to hit Gary I dug a
00:17:17
hole in this backyard uh somewhere maybe 50 yards going that way the hole sat there for a number of
00:17:27
months unused until such time they decided to take care of Mr Westerman in November 2003 Freddy GS and
00:17:39
his accomplices decided the time was right to go ahead with the execution of Gary
00:17:45
Westerman he was lured here by uh Freddy and taies and um once they got here he was beaten and
00:17:55
shot I came out of the garage by seen um Freddy was just kind of like they were wrestling with him because he wasn't he
00:18:02
didn't die from the [Music] bullet aada told Freddy to shoot him again Freddy had a somewhat larger
00:18:14
caliber handgun and shot him in in the skull taas then grabbed Westerman by the belt and threw him head first down into
00:18:27
this hole Westerman suddenly nobody had an account for where Gary Westerman was it was
00:18:37
widely suspected that he had met some foul play Freddy GS and his brother had brutally murdered Gary Westerman for the
00:18:47
police he was just a missing person we uh got rid of uh the guns our clothes and um you know we uh cleaned up
00:19:00
as best we could and the next day it was known right right away there was a a ton of law
00:19:09
enforcement presence all over us um they were you know not making it a a secret they were letting them us know that they
00:19:17
were on to us as the suspects of this disappearance of this man without a body it seemed that Freddy
00:19:26
and his accomplices had got away with the killing stories would come in as to where his remains might be found none of
00:19:36
them proved credible in the end but we had to follow these leads up Freddy GS would have enjoyed playing and
00:19:43
manipulating the law enforcement agencies trying to catch him knowing that he was doing all of these things
00:19:49
and that he wasn't getting caught so it's probably something that he chased
00:19:53
and desired and definitely fed his [Music] ego Freddy GS was now deeply entrenched
00:20:00
in a life of violent crime only a few weeks after the murder of Gary Westerman Freddy had a new
00:20:07
[Music] Target ad doel Bruno was a uh made member of the mafia he was a made member
00:20:16
of the geneves crime family out based out of New York genev crime family is probably the
00:20:26
largest most powerful thaan organized crime family in country they deals across the country with other Mafia
00:20:32
groups even in Florida they have ties with uh other organized crime figures in other countries and mostly with the
00:20:40
Italian mafia and Sicily the genovesi family held a tight grip on Massachusetts based in Springfield ad
00:20:51
Doo Bruno or Big Al was the boss of this local faction but he committed the ultimate betrayal he had become a police
00:21:03
informant snitches are very very looked down upon in the criminal world uh this is very prominent in the mob because the
00:21:13
way that the mob continues to be successful and be organized is by keeping itself
00:21:20
insulated eventually what happens as they have a meeting amongst the bosses in New
00:21:26
York the decision was you unanimous and Freddy GS was put in charge of getting the job done killing Big Al Freddy had a
00:21:36
guy that was uh called Frankie roach Freddy and him were close when I didn't know the kid at all when Freddy
00:21:44
said that he had him and he was capable of killing Al Bruno that was the plan that we went
00:21:52
with Freddy was now not only a reputed mob enforcer but was also running hits the scene was
00:22:02
set the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society Club it's an Italian Club was uh mostly
00:22:08
Italian immigrants we did a lot of surveillance in and around uh La Florentina Bakery
00:22:15
and The Italian Club which is just across the street primarily because our targets
00:22:22
including Mr Bruno frequented these spots uh both socially and for business purposes Al Bruno used to play cards
00:22:30
every Sunday and we knew that and that's where the plan was made for him to when
00:22:36
he was leaving the club at his card game to shoot him [Music] then everything was in place for Freddy
00:22:57
GS to kill MAF boss Al Bruno Freddy had given his orders to a hired Hitman Mr Bruno was inside the Italian
00:23:07
Club and uh his murderer his shooter a gentleman by the name of Frankie roach waited a vacant Field behind the
00:23:19
building Al Bruno was walking outside this club with one of his associates Frankie went up to him and
00:23:26
said hey Al I heard you were looking for me I'll turned to him and said hey buddy and that's when Frankie shot him
00:23:33
roach came up with a 45 and shot Mr Bruno repeatedly and then he went to the ground and Mr roach ran down the street
00:23:43
and he died there on the sidewalk of the club it was quite a a shock to the entire area here the something this
00:23:53
Brazen would happen uh particularly to a figure of the um notoriety of Mr Bruno Freddy got the shooter that killed
00:24:05
Al Bruno Freddy did give him $10,000 after the murder it didn't matter if he committed
00:24:13
the murder it didn't matter if he hired somebody to commit the murder it was all
00:24:17
about getting the goal achieved which was doing way with people that needed to be done away
00:24:25
with so what that tells us is that GS was willing to accomplish his goals of Murder by any means
00:24:33
necessary if you committed a crime and you are a member of a mafia group it was because your boss told you to commit
00:24:41
that crime so therefore he's guilty too and they were able to come after the
00:24:46
bosses with a Cod of silence and a culture of fear in the local community it took almost a year before the police
00:24:54
made any real progress it was was just nonstop FBI State Police government attention that was on
00:25:06
us we began to try and inquire as to the facts and circumstances surrounding his
00:25:14
death eventually it led to uh Frankie roach being arrested for the uh murder of Al Bruno once Frank roach was
00:25:23
arrested fearing further reprisals the police wasted no time getting his case to
00:25:29
trial just prior to his trial taking place literally within a day or two I was given information that he
00:25:38
had agreed to cooperate Mr roach actually admitted to murdering Mr Bruno at the behest of others he could only uh
00:25:49
name Freddy as the guy that told him to kill Al Bruno and that's what he did he
00:25:56
uh he named Freddy and Freddy ended up getting indicted for the uh Al Bruno murder Freddy GS was finally arrested on
00:26:05
April 19th 2007 and charged with the murder of Al Bruno as GS awaited trial the body of
00:26:15
his first victim Gary Westerman was discovered this gentleman by the name of Gary Westerman who was a pretty close
00:26:23
associate of the gses we received a call from an individual on a from a public phone as it turned out they just said
00:26:31
basically something to the effect that Westerman is dead and look no look to the aot and the gses for who did
00:26:41
it and I remember the first thing that we found was it was a sneaker and it was actually still attached to his skeletal
00:26:51
remains so his body if you will was upside down in the whole head and torso down and his legs EXT standing up
00:27:05
somewhat in 2011 when Gaz finally faced trial he was convicted for the murder of
00:27:11
Al Bruno but also for the killing of Westerman he was sentenced to life GS was transported to USP Atlanta
00:27:26
in the southern state of Georgia to begin his sentence a century old penitentiary which had housed Infamous
00:27:32
Mobsters including Al Capone Springfield Massachusetts has its own crew throughout the federal prison
00:27:44
system and they're a very dangerous dominant crew they don't join like you know the
00:27:50
white supremacy gangs or anything they're their own crew of guys so the way that the mob operates inside of the
00:27:56
federal prison is orchestrating hits outside on the streets orchestrating hits and murders inside of the prison
00:28:02
system and the dealing of drugs and transactions on sometimes gang members in crime figures they'll have more
00:28:13
protection if they have more members in that prison but sometimes they might be isolated might be the only
00:28:25
one Freddy GS with was soon moved to USP Hazelton in West Virginia arguably one of the most
00:28:34
violent federal prisons in the county he joined forces with other mobsters and became a figure to be
00:28:41
feared within the Prison Walls Freddy uh is in a federal prison and Massachusetts is known for having a
00:28:52
uh a dangerous they call it a car a crew like from Boston and they're a very
00:28:57
dangerous is Dominic crew who would um would kill you if you were uh an informant or something like
00:29:05
that and Freddy was doing his time with the crew that were there and and they all stick together you know especially
00:29:13
organized crime circles and everything Freddy GS had made many more enemies than friends in his life now
00:29:21
Behind Bars he was going to have to face some of them you know if you was a gang
00:29:26
member and I and in the street you were exploiting me in my business and now I come to jail I'm
00:29:34
not going to be too happy with you and he was doing his time and um and yeah very capable of violence if
00:29:43
it come to it life Behind Bars was certainly not going to be peaceful the same illicit business Freddy was used to
00:29:51
on the streets was also going on inside a lot of times people think that inmates are locked up they're in Secure
00:30:01
facilities and so they don't have access to contraband that cannot be further
00:30:06
from the truth in my experience almost every inmate has some sort of weapon on hand or close by that he can use at all
00:30:13
times I have had inmates who keep razors in their mouth uh I have had I have had
00:30:18
one inmate show me how to make a shank out of toilet paper when I went to prison my first
00:30:25
time ever was in State Prison and then the second day I was there I seen a guy get his head squat you know splattered
00:30:31
all over the floor just a year into his life sentence Freddy heard news of a new arrival of
00:30:43
interest to the Springfield [Music] mob Whitey balger was a notorious criminal gangster that ran his own crew
00:30:56
down on the Boston area he was involved in uh everything from rape and to murder
00:31:04
and [Music] drugs he was a rival of the Italian mafia he was a powerful organized crime
00:31:13
individual and what he did was he corrupted the FBI he had a close friend uh an FBI agent named Conley and the
00:31:22
story is that white he provided him with information about the what the Italians
00:31:28
were doing at the time and the FBI would arrest the Italians and in turn uh the FBI would tell Whitey buer what was
00:31:36
going on on law enforcement side with him and who his informants were so he could uh get rid of
00:31:45
them buer evaded prosecution for decades until in 2011 he was exposed and finally
00:31:52
arrested and convicted for multiple murders when he was indicted that when it came out that he was an informant for
00:31:59
the FBI when he came into Federal custody nobody knew who he told on but everybody knew he
00:32:07
told word of this Federal informant soon reached Freddy GS he G he didn't like snitches he he
00:32:15
had new people that were went to jail because of Whitey so he had a lot of reasons to want revenge he want DB
00:32:23
revenge and kill him most inmates go to prison and they don't you know they just do their time and go
00:32:32
home but you have your you know you have your exceptions like GS who continue to
00:32:36
offend when they're in prison and the typically the common denominator I would
00:32:41
say if I could pick one would be that they have antisocial personality disorder and or their Psychopaths
00:32:47
especially if they are the world's most dangerous criminals and being in a structured Correctional environment
00:32:53
really doesn't impact them at all they just continue to engage in criminal activities
00:32:58
that usually is an indicator that they are high on psychopathy or they're a psychopath Whitey buer was he was
00:33:05
arrogant he was condescending when he talked people including staff and staff didn't take kindly to it and he kind of
00:33:12
wore out his welcome everywhere he went being a problematic inmate and they decided that they were going to send him
00:33:18
to uh Hazelton in 2018 Whitey buer was sent to the very same prison where Fred GS was
00:33:28
serving out his life sentence didn't feel like he he realized how much in danger he was inside prison
00:33:39
I I think he felt like he was still in charge and he was still uh somebody to be
00:33:46
[Music] feared cuz on the outside he Whitey buer was always very feared now he was actually considered an
00:33:56
informant he was not a boss anymore he was a Target there are certain codes and rules
00:34:08
to abide by and snitching is probably the one of the top ones that you don't
00:34:13
want to go against so a snitch is viewed as somebody who's an extreme threat to
00:34:19
any kind of criminal organization particularly the mob so it makes sense that GS was against
00:34:26
snitches rats and informants have absolutely no love in the prison system they're up
00:34:34
there with the sex offenders as far as uh they are not [Music] well-liked 89-year-old Whitey buer
00:34:47
arrived at Hazelton Penitentiary unaware of the danger he was in he agreed to be
00:34:53
housed with all the other inmates he came in in the evening the prison I believe was already locked down for the
00:35:03
night so the inmates were in their cells he had previously been assigned to cell so the cellmate knew he was
00:35:12
coming on all immate sign paperwork saying that they don't not in fear and and they feel that say they safe to go
00:35:20
out into general population why he came out into population I don't know so he was actually put in the cell
00:35:32
locked in there with his cellmate for the night and then in the morning when they
00:35:38
opened up the cell gize was able to go from his cell in that into that cell for Whitey Bulger the countdown had
00:35:49
begun GS was willing to continue engaging in Murder against high-profile people no matter what what the
00:36:04
cost in USP Hazelton gangster turned Informer Whitey buer had arrived the previous
00:36:13
evening at 6:30 a.m. cell block doors automatically unlocked in the morning when they opened
00:36:22
up the cell gize was able to go from his cell in that to that so Freddy GS determined
00:36:30
to attack buer allegedly went armed with the most violent weapons he could find a
00:36:36
lot of weapons that we see in the prison uh will be locked tied to a sock or tied
00:36:42
to a belt and they kind of swing it and hit somebody in the head with it GS and his accomplices allegedly headed towards
00:36:50
buer cell there's places where the camera's angles don't reach the inmates know
00:36:56
where they're at and they do take advantage of those situations they'll they'll commit
00:37:01
attacks in those corners and a lot of the times they will go unseen by staff and usually will'll find somebody a
00:37:08
victim we'll find a victim after it's already taken place and Mr buer was subsequently
00:37:16
found severely beaten and um Legend gize was able to beat him to death with the with the lock and the
00:37:30
[Music] sock in less than 12 hours of arriving at Hazelton Penitentiary Whitey bulger's
00:37:41
life had come to a horrifying end when I first heard that Mr Baler had been murdered I said in in strictly a
00:37:53
joking manner it was probably Freddy and within the matter of an hour or two someone
00:38:00
called me and actually told me it indeed did involve him I was just you know I was
00:38:06
shocked this was a well-planned hit but GS was spotted by surveillance cameras walking into buer
00:38:16
cell and leaving a few minutes later the 89-year-old was unrecognizable the suspect a mafia Hitman Freddy
00:38:31
Gaz words spread both inside the prison and out Freddy GS was headline news reputation in prison is pretty much
00:38:40
everything if you're an inmate and you have a reputation of violence that reputation will follow
00:38:48
you so you can put in a lot of work as they say you can do a lot of stabbings and
00:38:53
assaults early on and that will follow you as in like hey that don't mess with
00:38:58
that guy that guy will handle his business across the country Freddy gs's infamy was growing
00:39:06
fast mob enforcer Freddy GS from West Springfield GS beat Whitey buer to death yesterday morning his eyes nearly gouged
00:39:15
out I think media coverage could have been a factor with GS because he would have enjoyed the notoriety he would have
00:39:21
enjoyed the feed to his ego so the killing of a high value or important Target in prison would gain
00:39:30
you the reputation and the respect of other criminals as a badge of honor you know you didn't take out an average Joe
00:39:38
you took out somebody that to them means [Music] something GS and his accomplices were
00:39:50
immediately placed in solitary confinement awaiting investigation and charges in solitary confinement you are
00:39:58
confined to your cell you cannot come out unless you are handcuffed to a shower or to a small
00:40:05
yard so these inmates are typically in their cells most of the day 22 23 hours a
00:40:13
day this was the ultimate punishment a prison within the prison these are inmates that continue to assault and
00:40:21
rape and murder while they're in prison so they require a high level of security
00:40:26
a high level of monitoring now everyone knew Freddy gs's true nature and just
00:40:32
how violent he could be something only his closest Associates really knew there is a level of secrecy as to
00:40:40
the way Mafia Enterprises are conducted there's a purposeful attempt to remain anonymous and not be too uh
00:40:50
obvious about their various criminal activities Freddy had no remorse at all with the um with any murder he did there
00:41:00
were people that either have killed or would try to kill you if they were given the chance you know if we die on the
00:41:06
streets then we accept that because you know we know we took a life and we know that we can die the same way and that's
00:41:13
just part of it I wonder if GS even though he did not rank highly in the Italian mob he
00:41:22
probably was able to justify his actions as for the greater good of this organized
00:41:29
crime on August 18th 2022 after almost 4 years in solitary confinement Freddy GS
00:41:37
and his two accomplices were finally charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree
00:41:43
murder you know what I mean he's been in prison the last 16 years in prison I
00:41:49
think that you know like that particular murder didn't have to happen but you know they killed
00:41:56
him [Music] um you know that's their decision facing trial again was not a worry for GS as he was already serving a
00:42:10
life sentence I find lifers in prison to be very different in the sense that I have
00:42:20
had people who have come to a realization that I'm serving a life sentence I may as well make the best of
00:42:26
it I have also dealt with patient inmates who are serving life sentences and so they take on this attitude as I'm
00:42:33
already serving a life sentence so I really don't care what happens to me so
00:42:36
I'm going to do whatever I want to do I am hurt so I'm going to hurt others as of October 2023 Freddy GS was
00:42:52
incarcerated in the high Security Federal Prison USP Florence admax in Colorado when you get in trouble in
00:43:00
prison and you commit like a a murder they ship you to like an adx high level security one of the most in all of the
00:43:08
country Freddy is accused of murder and Whitey polter so he got sent to the worst place yeah he's reportedly in a
00:43:15
supermax prison but that has not stopped past inmates who are in supermax prisons
00:43:20
if there's a will there's a way I think there is absolutely a potential for Freddy to commit more Mur
00:43:27
murderous acts in prison any kind of violent acts actually and if you're high
00:43:30
on psychopathy and you have displayed that you have committed murder in the community you've committed murder in
00:43:36
Correctional Facilities there is no reason why Freddy would stop committing murder no matter what level of security
00:43:43
that he's at that's how you want to live your life then that's your decision you
00:43:48
know everyone has a decision in life you know in the fall of 2023 Freddy was still awaiting trial for the murder of
00:43:57
Wht [Music] buer [Music] [Music]
