This episode covers the murder case of Mindy Kassotis, the investigation led by Investigator Jack Frost, and the trial of her husband Nick Kassotis.

Investigator Jack Frost discusses the discovery of Mindy Kassotis's remains by hunters on December 2, 2022, in a wooded area near Barrington Ferry Road. Initial assumptions were that the remains were a mannequin, but further investigation revealed a dismembered body with evidence of homicide.

Friends and family of Mindy recount their disbelief upon learning of her death, initially thought to be from natural causes. Heather Thomas, Mindy's ex-husband's first wife, recognized her from a police sketch, leading to the identification of the remains.

The episode details Nick Kassotis's erratic behavior and claims of being surveilled, which raised concerns among Mindy's friends. As the investigation progressed, evidence linked Nick to the crime scene, including a knife purchased shortly before Mindy's death.

The trial revealed Nick's elaborate lies and manipulation, ultimately leading to his conviction for Mindy's murder. The episode concludes with reflections on Mindy's legacy as a podcaster and advocate for women.
